Customers are saying

Customers value the ease of use, affordability, and Alexa compatibility of this smart thermostat. Many appreciate its sleek design and seamless integration with other smart home devices. However, some customers found the installation process challenging, particularly the requirement for a C-wire. Overall, the positive feedback on ease of use and value outweighs the negative comments regarding installation complexities.

    Minimalist Smart Thermostat

Tested out several of these smart t-stats over the years. Feelings on this one are a bit mixed. Basic 3 touch button Up/Down and Mode select control on the device itself. Any configuration beyond that must be done in the app. Though too many modes to cycle through (for forced air systems) and operational details is poorly documented. Does not support more advanced 2-stage setups or a backup heat source. Display brightness is adjustable for both active and inactive. No motion sensor so only wakes up when physically touched. With forced air operation isn't just Heat/Cool or Off, but can keep toggling for AutoHeat/Cool and then Heat/Cool with Fan On (or in circulate mode, configured in the app). So that's 10 taps before it round-robins. If not paying attention can inadvertently set the fan to always running. IMO, for the less technical the over-minimalist controls make it less user friendly. An actual touch screen (even a tiny one) and UI would make operation far more intuitive. ~3-in sq in size and does include a wide wall plate. Covering up existing holes or old paint from a previous device shouldn't be an issue. A significant advantage is this sounds to have actual relays for call control. Most these smart models use microscopic MOSFETS. But an electro-mechanical relay offers far more protection. More likely to just blow the 10¢ fuse at the furnace with a possible short than damage more expensive electronics like this. Relays should be mandatory in HVAC controls. A fuse is meant to protect electronics, not the other way around! This T-stat gets points for build quality, but having used touch screen models before I'm not sold on the user experience aspect of it. On sale it's a worth a consideration but not at MSRP.

LOVE IT!!! bought to replace my ancient "anything but smart" thermostat (that would go rogue and set itself at will). This keeps my home at a constant comfortable temp at my commands. Make sure you know before installation if your system requires and additional c-wire.

Easy to install works well with Alexa. Make sure you have a "C" wire on your existing t-stat. If not you will need to but the additional part or connect the "C" wire on your system.

Great product the only drawback is that it doesn’t come with the C wire required for it to work. But the c wire can be easily obtained outside. Amazon created a much cheaper product compared to the rest of its competitors using quality materials. Great addition to the home. 10/10 would recommend.

Decent functionality within the Alexa app. Wish it had its own standalone app like Nest or Ecobee. Make sure you have a C wire on your current setup or this will not work for you. This does not have a internal battery or accept batteries.

Could not use it for my unit since it needs a common wire and my system didn't have it.

Doesn’t work without a C wire, oops. I’m sure it’s a good thermostat, I had to get the google nest instead.

Best Buy couldn't install it because I didn't have a C Wire, so I bought and installed the adapter. It worked for about a couple of weeks, then my AC started rapid cycling. I gave up and installed my old one. My AC hasn't been the same since... it might have messed up the compressor. I have an HVAC person coming to look at it next week. It only displays the current temp, not the temp that it's set to adjust to unless you look at the app or click the arrows. The app might be good if you have a lot of devices but is overkill if you just have this one. The wiring holes/catches seem flimsy. It looks nice and has wifi and an app for remote monitoring and scheduling, but that's about all I can give it praise for

More then likely a great product. For some reason I could not get it to work with my C-Wire. Ended up returning to the store

No fault of the product but it would not work with my York AC unit. Something about a c wire. I was trying to qualify for the SRP rebate and to have it work with my amazon echo.
