||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been a Linksys costumer forever but in resent years I’ve noticed Linksys products have fallen short. I had to buy a Linksys router every two years because either it burns out or the signal isn’t strong enough! After a long research I found AMPLIFI Alien! I couldn’t be happier! This router is THE BEST !!! Pro’s Display Easy to install The power Con’s the price is a little steep but well worth the money. If you’re looking for A second contender get the NETGEAR Orbi

Great Router!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would highly recommend this router over both the google mesh and nighthawk (tried both and returned. I upgraded from an onlder night hawk and am getting much fast speeds (300-400mbps) than before. The setup was easy and most was done on the app. The routers range is also very good easily covers my 2600 sq ft 3 level house.

Very happy with purchase.
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great range and I much prefer the simple looks of this then most highend routers which tend to be bulky and have several antennas. The display touchscreen is a nice feature. App is easy to use. Surprised at how often it gets software updates considering its already a few years old. Only downside is price and not wall mountable.

Easy, fast and your best bet.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Simply a great router. So easy to setup and use. However, if you want to drill down and see tons of detail, the app provides more tools than you can possibly need. The front panel is clear and easy to use. The range is wonderful as it goes much farther than my prior router. Only negative is that it is a bit pricey, but hands down the best router I have used or setup.

Alien!
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent! Improved WiFi speed and range. Easy to set up, and nice because I didn’t need to setup a special account just to set the WiFi up (others such as Netgear, Linksys, TPlink, etc, do) Definitely worth the price.

Worth the $
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought two of these to cover a 4,000 sq ft house after endlessly (and unsuccessfully) troubleshooting my Netgear Nighthawks. Set-up was beyond easy, it was incredibly simple to mesh the system, and speeds throughout the house have been great! Definitely more than I was planning on paying, but 100% worth it.

Best, most reliable and fast
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works amazing! Connection is reliable, never drops and the speeds are consistent and fast. Unfortunately, I purchased a top of the line eero first and that was a mistake...my devices buffered a lot or the connection would drop constantly along with slow speeds. This 1 Alien unit replaced 3 eero's (main unit and 2 beacons). The Alien's wifi works fantastic and reaches all over my house. I have used many Amplifi products and they are the best. If you have fiber like I do, you need the Alien for reliability and speed.

Modern router, simple setup
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am using Amplifi Alien as a WAP (wireless access point) connected to a Cisco Meraki router via ethernet. The Amplifi Alien was easy to set up, with a 100% up time, with an Apple like experience (note that the CEO of Unifi/Ubiquiti/Amplifi worked for Apple for a short time). If you desire more complex networking features, buy the Ubiquiti gear. But for the majority of consumers, Amplifi is more than enough of a router, and provides dependable wireless access and coverage, in addition to being aesthetically modern appearing with an interactive display, which the majority of routers do not have. The display and green light at the base of the router can be turned off if you don't like them, and they can be scheduled to turn off at night.

Best of the Best
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my second purchase of the Alien, and I absolutely love them. The ease of setup, the range of the radios, the configurability of the devices, and the solid reliable service are what will always keep me coming back to Ubiqiti. I manage the IT infrastructure for a small corporation, and with the products that I purchased myself, all have been Ubiqiti. So it only seemed reasonable to use their consumer grade products at home. Originally I was looking at a Dream Machine. But it seemed lacking in some areas, mainly only offering WiFi 5, and didn't want to step up to a rack mount system in the Dream Machine Pro. These Aliens have the same footprint with WiFi 6, but a more limited firewall, and less "Pro" feature set. But for most residential applications, the Alien is probably a more solid bet, as many of the DMP features are overkill for a home environment. If you're looking for the best of the best, you can't go wrong with the Alien.

Yes yes YES!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This router is insanely good. I've been in tech, networking, programming and low level equipment repair for decades at this point. Experience with many firewalls, routers, switches. This thing is ROCK SOLID (with one warning) and I highly recommend. Range is fantastic - 3K square foot home - one unit perfect! 52 wifi devices and it doesn't break a sweat! 10 Arlo Cameras all over the property...all fantastic signal! Ok so for the warning - I had to return the first one and pickup another one. There is a rare but known issue where the LCD panel will go blank and not resp[ond after time and the only thing that brings it back up is pulling the plug and plugging back in. This is different than nighttime mode that puts the display to sleep and it comes back when you tough the screen. You know you have the issue if the screen goes blank...but the backlight is on and it even responds to finger taps (haptic feedback) but there is nothing displayed. If you have this issue don't waste your time... it's a rare dud. Just return and get another and you will love it.

Solid Router but at a Price
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very Solid system. It does run a little hot, but it didn't effect performance very much. I didn't have it in the best spots in my apartment, and it had enough range to carry a consistent signal throughout. I'd recommend, especially as a start to a Mesh WiFi Network.

Quirky Router with Huge Range!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall this is an excellent router. The lcd screen shows lots of useful and I found the app and setup process overall pretty easy. I have had it over a month now and I have had to reboot it a few times but there’s always the chance that was my internet provider causing issues so I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt. The range on this thing is absurd! Like the range you usually get with two mesh routers working together is what you get with one of theses. They are also meshable so you can have two of them like other mesh set ups. Overall definitely recommend this router. Just a few quirks and if you can live with them you will be very happy!

WHAT A BEAST!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Came from a netgear router, my isp gives me 1gb up and down, i was getting around 500/600, wasn't totally satisfied but i know achieving wired speeds over wireless is not possible in most cases, i manged to configure the alien to 900 down and up, first photo is a speed test about 10 feet away from the router and the other photo is on the other side of the house, satisfied

Great, cool router
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to add as a node in a mesh network to better cover our house with WiFi. It was quite easy to connect to the router to add it to the network as a mesh point and the entire process took under five minutes. Ever since, our signal has been better (they're basically on either end of the house now) and I haven't had to babysit the equipment (big plus). No resets so far and both Internet & mesh network backbone down/up speeds have been excellent. Now, I think it's ludicrous that Amplifi/Ubiquiti don't sell the mesh point model by itself (you have to buy a router/mesh point kit to get the mesh point) - that said, I bought this one with BB points, so I didn't mind "splurging" to remedy the weak WiFi at the garage end of the house. It's a cool router and performance has been good, so far. Expensive-ish, but network hardware you rarely have to think about is worth some money.

great router
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this about 6 weeks now and so far it's great. Setup from the app was easy. Coverage and speed is really good. The display and looks of the thing is really cool. As far as wifi goes, it's the best you can hope for - set it and forget it.

Happy
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was easy to set up. I set it up with the same name and password as my old wifi and everything connected to it and worked without any issues. Its been setup in our home about a month and its done an update easily. It just works without me having to mess with it and thats what I wanted. For reference we have a 2,000 SQ FT home, split level, and its on one side of the house. All my outside accessories connect to it, including a Ring camera on the exact other side of the house.

Headache free
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This review is Based on the fact that I’ve have bought many routers. I’ve used netgear, dlink, AMPLIFI HD, echos, tplink, att, and any other that comes with internet service. This one is great! The coverage and speed is awesome. Now speeds have greatly increased in the last year from 1g to 5gigs to over 10gigs in some areas. Other routers give me a speed well under what I was paying for. This router correctly display the right amount speed I’m pay for and all my devices actual work! I would recommend this hands down.

Extremely Fast, Great Range, and looks so freaking
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Extremely Fast, Great Range, and looks so freaking cool! I had the Amplifi HD system before the alien and decided it was time to try this one out and man, it is so much faster! I have ATT fiber and before I would get usually 100 to 200 mbps down with the HD, but with the alien, I get 400 mbps at the minimum all around my ~3700 square foot home. This is all with just this stand alone unit. I am impressed and was surprised to see the great range from this unit as well. I definitely recommend to anyone on the fence about it. Also don't be afraid to change some of the setting like separating the bands or changing the wifi channel to get the best possible performance.
