Excellent Battery Pack & Kickstand
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been a big fan of Apple's MagSafe technology and their accessories but have to admit at the same time that those accessories are very expensive, unless there are good deals on them which is very rare. So far, I've only got their MagSafe charger which is almost always on discount. Their MagSafe battery pack is just too expensive ($99) but when I saw Anker's MagGo battery pack, I immediately jumped on it. Not only because it costs way less than its Apple counterpart but also because it's from Anker, my one of the most trusted brands. I own several of Anker's products and I'm not disappointed in any one of them so far. This one is no exception. It works like charm. No setup required upfront other than just charging it after taking out of box for the first time. It can be charged using the USB-C slot at the bottom and the same slot can be used to charge your device thru wire. The other good thing about this charger is that you can charge your phone thru MagSafe at the same time you charge the battery pack. The phone charging will be slow obviously. I have Apple's leather case & a silicone case for my iPhone 13 Pro Max and this battery pack attaches to the phone as if it was glued to it. It does not fall off the back of the phone, no matter how much you shake it. I've read reviews like it not being as strong at the bottom as at the top (circular portion) but that is understandable because the circular portion has larger area to stick to as compared to just a small thin line at the bottom. Personally, I don't have any issue with it as long as it stays connected to the phone. I agree it's a bit on the heavier side given it's small size but not as much that can cause carpel tunnel in your hands. However, once you connect it to your phone, the combined weight is quite heavy, specially if you have the Max versions of the iPhones because if you are charging your phone "MagSafely", there's 90% chance that you are holding it while charging and it feels a bit weird to hold your phone because of added thickness and weight but convenience does come at a price. So no zonk for that. Size wise, it's perfect for my phone and does not protrude outside the phone boundary. I cannot comment on protrusion on smaller phones because the only other phone I've tried it on is my wife's iPhone 12 Pro Max which is the same size as my phone. I have read people complaining about it online though for smaller iPhones, specially at the bottom. I did notice it getting a bit hot while charging my phone. I'm not sure if that is a common issue or just mine but it isn't that bad, just slightly hot. I had this issue with Anker's MagSafe charger as well which I use occasionally. But other than this, I don't have any issue with this battery pack. Charges my phone at a decent pace. There are four LED dots at the bottom of the battery pack that indicate juice remaining in the battery. I'm assuming it means 25%, 50%, 75% & 100% but I'm not entirely sure of that. Apple's MagSafe battery pack beats Anker's battery in this regard as your iPhone shows exact percentage of remaining juice in the MagSafe charger whereas in this, you have to rely on the LED dots. Not a dealbreaker obviously but something to know upfront. I'm not too thrilled about the kickstand as I rarely use it: One because it's very flimsy/unstable, specially for my heavy 13 pro max with the cover. The phone gets knocked down as soon as you touch the screen and second because I have other better means of keeping my phone upright if I need to, which is again very rare. So these are the only two reasons to knock off a star in my review: battery getting hot & kickstand being very flimsy. Other than this, it's an awesome battery pack and I would definitely recommend it. Anker really knocked it out of the park this time. Kudos to them!

Use a MagSafe case for the strongest hold
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.## Design The Anker MagGo 622 Magnetic Battery is a little larger than the first generation of their magnetic power banks, but it features a foldable flap on the back that allows you to prop up your phone while it is magnetically attached to the MagGo power bank. The MagGo 622 MagSafe power bank has a soft plastic exterior that is comfortable to hold either by itself or when it is attached to your phone. There is a USB-C charging port on the bottom, along with a power button and 5 LEDs that show when the wireless charging is engaged as well as the remaining power reserve. ## Performance Like most third-party magnetic chargers, the Anker MagGo maxes out at 7.5 watts for wireless charging. Currently, only Apple’s official MagSafe wall charger achieves up to 15 watts of wireless charging. However, since the Anker MagGo 622 power bank is portable, speed becomes less of a concern as you can simply attach the power bank to the back of your phone and go about your day. The Anker 622 MagSafe power bank does become warm while charging, especially if you have it in your pocket while it is charging your phone. As heat can lessen the longevity of your phone’s battery, you’ll want to make sure there is plenty of airflow around the power bank while it is charging, which is easy to achieve thanks to the built-in stand. Using an official Apple MagSafe silicone case on my phone, the Anker MagGo external battery attaches very strongly to my phone and does not easily come off. It feels very secure in my hand and only seems to slide off with deliberate force. The magnetic attraction will be weaker with other cases that do not have a built-in MagSafe magnetic ring. ## Features - Built-in stand: The flap on the back can be folded up to prop up your phone either vertically or horizontally while it charges, kind of like an iPad cover. This makes it great for FaceTime calls or watching a video on your phone. - Wired charging: If you need to charge a non-Qi device, you can attach a charging cord to the bi-directional USB-C port to charge other devices. - 5,000mAh capacity: It’s important to note that you will not realize the entire 5,000mAh capacity of the power bank due to power loss due to voltage conversions and through wireless charging itself. On my iPhone 12 Pro Max, I’m estimating about a 50% boost to the battery before the power bank itself is depleted. This will vary based on what you’re doing on your phone while it charges. ## Summary The Anker MagGo Magnetic power bank is definitely convenient if you have an iPhone 12 or 13 and want an easy way to charge your phone on your go. With the magnetic attraction and wireless charging, you don’t need to worry about bringing a cable with you to charge your phone. Just make sure you’re using a MagSafe case for the best performance.

The best powerbank you’ll ever own
|Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The absolute best powerbank i’ve ever owned for my phone. Snap it on your phone and you’re good to go! Be aware that the battery gets warm, so be mindful of where you put it as you are charging your device.

Not what I was expecting
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It charges my phone very slowly and only gets in one charge (not even a whole charge) before it dies. For the price I was expecting much better. The magnet is really strong and won't fall off your phone, however it is pretty heavy and gets hot while charging.

Too hot to charge
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The only reason I gave it a 3 is because it gets very hot when you’re using it to charge your phone. Which is something I don’t like at all.

Decent battery but gets very hot
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works decently well but gets very hot. My iPhone 12 Pro only charges to 80% before telling me it had overheated and pauses the charge. I have tried this with and without a MagSafe case on my phone. The battery itself doesn’t take very long to charge with usb-c high speed wall charger. The stand is nice and it does hold my phone in portrait or landscape, so that is helpful. Overall a decent battery, but gets very hot when charging.

Not much juice and gets hot
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Added minimal charge to a iPhone 13 Pro with Apple silicone case and gets really hot while doing so. The material for the stand is really thin and doesn't seem like it would hold up long. Normally Anker products are easy to recommend, but I'd skip this one.
