Having recently acquired the Anker 522 Portable Power Station, I am thoroughly impressed by its performance and versatility. This compact yet robust device has become an essential part of my outdoor adventures and home emergency kit. The Anker 522 boasts a sleek and modern design. It's surprisingly lightweight for its size, making it easy to carry around. The build quality is excellent, with a sturdy casing that can withstand the rigors of outdoor use. The 299Wh capacity is more than sufficient for powering small appliances, charging multiple devices, and even running essential gadgets during power outages. It reliably supports devices like smartphones, laptops, cameras, and small camping appliances. One of the standout features of the Anker 522 is its variety of charging ports. It includes 1 USB-A, 2 USB-C, 2 AC outlets, and even a car socket, providing flexibility for all charging needs. The USB-C port with Power Delivery is particularly useful for fast-charging compatible devices. This portable power station lets you charge up to 6 devices simultaneously. Recharging the Anker 522 is straightforward and can be done via an AC outlet, car charger, or even a solar panel. The solar panel option is especially beneficial for long camping trips where access to power is limited. The operation is whisper-quiet, which is a significant advantage over traditional gasoline-powered generators. This makes it perfect for use in quiet environments like campsites or when you don’t want to disturb others during a power outage. The Anker 522 has exceeded my expectations in terms of reliability and versatility. It has a quick charging time, robust capacity, and the array of ports is incredibly convenient for various devices. Another highlight for this charging station is it has a LiFePO4 battery which lasts up to 1500 hours or 6 times longer than competing power stations. My kids thought the coolest was the light/lantern feature, super helpful for power outages or finding a campsite, it puts off enough light to feel safe and see what’s around you with a warm yellow hue. The Anker 522 Portable Power Station is an excellent investment for anyone looking for a reliable, versatile, and portable power solution. Whether it’s for outdoor activities, as a backup power source, or for professional use, it delivers exceptional performance and durability. The peace of mind it provides, knowing that you have a dependable power source in any situation, is invaluable. Another home-run product from Anker!!

This battery was great for my recent camping trip. It allowed me to recharge my portable CPAP battery, I could have run directly from the AC outlet, but I already had the battery for the CPAP. It also allowed me to charge my phone, tablet and speaker. I think that I could have used it for a few days without needing to recharge it based on my usage, however I was able to recharge it by directly plugging in a 50W solar panel that I already had. I just needed to buy an adapter to go directly from the solar panel cable to the 8mm (DC7909) power port on the back of this device. No additional charge controller was necessary. I'm very pleased, would recommend it and I'm considering buy a second one just in case I end up on a rainy trip.

    Great backup power

I am using this basically as a UPS for my work computer setup. I live in an area where power flickers or outages are common. Previously, my monitor, speakers, etc would not be usable - only my laptop (as long as it has battery life left). Now, I will get about 2-3 hours of power in the event of a power outage. Fans on this device are audible, but not too loud. I have been in a Zoom meeting using power from this device. No one noticed the extra noise. Bonus for me - I can easily pick this up and move it elsewhere in my house. It is not very heavy. Before you buy, I would recommend trying to get an idea of how much power you might need and for how long. I'd consider a 300 watt device the bare minimum for my current use case.

This little unit is awesome, our primary use for it is to use it when we travel as a back up power supply in the vehicle for being able to work on the computer while we travel. I keep it plugged in to the cigarette lighter charger. It keeps it full while we go. It’s like free electricity because the vehicle was running anyway to keep it charged

    Another Great Product from Anker

Portable electric power stations are all over these days, with capacities ranging from a few hundred to tens of thousands of watt-hours. Everyone seems to be introducing their own version, and well-regarded Anker has more than a few models on offer in their SOLIX line. The Anker SOLIX 522 is on the smaller end of things, with just under 300Wh of battery capacity. It's no slouch when it comes to connections, however, with USB-A and USB-C ports and not one but two regular power outlets. Throw in a car charger port, a nice screen and a soft white light bar and you have a little bit of everything in a very portable package. The SOLIX 522 arrived in simple cardboard packaging, with only the unit, wall and car chargers and instructions in the box. It arrived nearly fully-charged, but I topped it off with the included charger anyway. It's a large laptop-style charger (a brick in between two long cords) that's not the most portable, but it is powerful, so charging doesn't take ages. Unlike some other power stations in this price range you can charge the 522 with the DC charger and a USB-C PD charger at the same time, which offers you blazing fast charging speeds when you're in a hurry. I really appreciate that Anker included a car adapter in the box, for charging on the go, and that USB-C PD capabilities mean you can use just about any modern laptop or tablet charger if you don't have Anker's included chargers on hand. As with most power stations you can also connect solar panels through the DC input, which makes the 522 more useful in extended camping or power outage scenarios. I don't have any panels myself, but I'm already looking at various options in case something goes on sale. As expected from an Anker product the SOLIX 522 feels high quality right out of the box, with a solid weight and rugged construction. It's easy to carry and small enough to toss in the back of the car. Anker's product description and 5-year warranty highlight the high-quality battery cells within, which Anker claims are designed to last a full decade. Only time will tell, of course, but I've had very good luck with the numerous Anker products I've purchased, so I'm prepared to believe them on this. For something you may not use every day but need immediately in an emergency the peace of mind of quality construction and long-lasting battery cells is invaluable. The wide selection of included ports means you can charge multiple devices simultaneously at top (or nearly top) speeds, as well as power small electronics like a fan, TV or even electric cooler without the 522 breaking a sweat. The display is both large and bright, displaying available charge and current input/output rates at the press of a button. It's great for monitoring the state of your power station at a glance and should be straightforward enough for any user to understand. For the most part you can just plug something in and go, there's no fancy setup needed. I appreciate Anker's smart power-saving mode, too, which will automatically stop feeding power to your devices once the unit detects they're fully charged. You can enable or disable this with the flick of a switch, so a device needing constant power won't be interrupted. With two USB-C and one wall charger connected and the built-in light shining the Anker 522 was able to put out 70-plus watts easily, with the display indicating approximately 3 hours of battery life at that discharge rate. The 522 lives up to its "quiet" claim, too, without any audible fan noise. Other similarly-priced power stations I've used spun up noisy fans whenever input or output wattage went above 50 or so watts, which is something to keep in mind if you're using this while trying to sleep, for example. I had high hopes for a power station with the Anker name on it, and I'm pleased to say the SOLIX 522 delivers. It packs a good selection of ports into a high quality, ruggedly portable package backed up by a long warranty. Anker includes not one, but two chargers in the box, and gives the 522 multipoint charging capabilities with USB-C PD on board. With winter bringing the possibility of power outages, I'm happily more prepared than before with the Anker SOLIX 522 on board, and I look forward to many years of trouble-free service ahead.
