Works, and has a super annoying beep

They lie and say you can turn off the alarm that lets you know the power is out. This is the dumbest feature ever. I can tell the power is out by nothing electric working in my house. I do not need an annoying beep to remind me and rub it in. The instructions claim you can hold down the power for less than 2 seconds to turn off the alarm. Doing so also tends to turn off the UPC defeating the purpose of why I bought the device, to manage the brief 1-sec power glitches that reset my cable modem. So now I have a beep telling me the power went out, and still waiting 5 minutes for my router to re-boot. For this price why not have an alarm switch? All phones do.

Thank you for taking the time to review our UPS. I am sorry to hear that you are unable to mute the unit. This unit would have the feature to mute it though. The unit offers a quick mute option by shortly pressing the power button for less than 2 seconds during an alarm. There is also the option to turn off the on battery alarm completely. With the UPS turned on, you can configure the on battery indicator modes by holding down the power button and waiting for the third beep. At the third beep, the power button will cycle red/green. Release the power button and its color will indicate the mode it is in. You can mute the on battery alarm permanently by pressing the power button so the mode selector is flashing red. Once the mode as been selected please wait 5 seconds for the settings to be saved to the UPS. If you are still running into issues muting the unit please reach out to an APCbySchneider for further assistance. We offer email and chat services through our support site. I've bought multiple of these units in the past, 2 out of 3 batteries have gone bad within just a couple years. The worst part is, APC doesn't allow you to MUTE the alarm if it's because the battery has been degraded. You have to power down the entire unit and reset it. Absolutely predatory feature designed to make your life such a hassle that you are forced to buy a new unit. I'm gonna try Cyberpower instead, I've heard better things about that brand

Thank you for taking the time to review our UPS. The replace battery alarm isn't able to muted because then you could potentially miss that the battery needs replaced in the UPS. If the battery is depleted in the UPS then it wouldn't be available in the event of a power outage. APC
