Stable Trustworthy Power
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've used this uninterruptible power supply for almost 3 years now. The Back-UPS Pro are my go to brand for power supplies. Here in central NY, the Rochester Gas and Electric utility company has brown outs or power failures almost weekly. I need to be able to work uninterrupted, and this unit works perfectly. It just sits under my desk among the dust bunnies and is always there when I need it. I recently built a new computer that draws a fair amount of power when playing games. The graphics card, in particular. There is a wattage limit on these units. It isn't a hard cut-off, but it will definitely let you know when that limit is surpassed. For the 1000VA unit, that value is 600 watts. Make sure you buy a unit with a high enough rating to supply the power you need. Since building my latest system, I opted to buy a 1500VA unit rated at 900 watts. I'll be moving the 600 watt unit to my entertainment system.

An Extremely Well Made UPS -- Hightly Recommended!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought two of these and have been using them for about a month as I write this. Both are powering desktop computers. The computers stays on all the time. I also downloaded and have been using the free Powerchute software that provides useful and interesting information. We had a power outage yesterday and the UPSs performed well. I was pleased to see that the panel automatically displayed the run time remaining -- which is exactly what I needed to know. Both units outlasted the outage of about a half hour. I am impressed with these units. One powers a computer with two SSDs, two HDDs and an external four-HDD RAID. That configuration typically draws about 96 watts of power. The UPS can keep it going for about 45 minutes. Most desktop computers could probably run much longer. I have it set to shut down with eight minutes of UPS power remaining, but I shut down the computer immediately and left the RAID running. With just the RAID, the UPS had three hours of run time. This UPS model is easy to setup. Basically, just take it out of the box, plug it in, turn it on, plug in devices and start using it. The front panel provides the most relevant information. Additionally, there is a control cable that connects the UPS with the computer. It allows the UPS to tell the computer to shut down when the UPS is running out of battery power. It also provides information to the Powerchute software. I have nothing negative to write about these UPSs. Compared to other UPSs I have used, these are the best. I am also currently using two previously purchased UPSs by another manufacturer that also perform well by do not have the features of these units. In general, I prefer to have a UPS installed between my expensive devices and the line power. A good UPS will not only provide backup power, but it will also improve the power during normal conditions. I have a UPS powering my cable modem and router, and because these devices use little power, our Internet can stay up for hours after the power goes out. I also have a UPS on our main TV and sound system. I can't imagine not having a UPS on equipment that costs many thousands of dollars.

Keeps power on during dropouts.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After a short power drop out trashed the windows software on my computer I bought this UPS. This was after the big ice storm. 2 hours after installing it my power dropped out again and my PC didn’t skip a beat. Worked as expected.

Excellent UPS with AVR
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good capacity at 1000VA and 600 watts. This UPS provides battery backup for a 24/7/365 server runs around 255w (picture included represents 100% stress test results). The feature which makes this UPS the right choice is the inclusion of auto voltage regulation (helps smooth out sudden changes in power demand such as HVAC/Dryer etc.).

Works great for High End 3D Printer
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works great! I have the 1500VA on my computer and I needed one for my MakerGear M3-ID 3D printer thanks to the crappy electrical service I get when there's a breeze. I would lose a print half way through because of a one second power loss and the 1000VA solved the problem, and the price was well worth the wasted time and filament.

It works. Even when the power doesn’t.
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my second APC unit, thought I’d upgrade after replacing the battery in my old one. Haven’t had a single problem with this unit. The LCD and power options make this a great choice. Not to mention it can be controlled by either my router or PC and works well with the voltage sync on my motherboard bios.

APC Backup
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this unit after our last power outage. Best Buy didn’t have the model my friend got, so I got this one (same brand) instead. It fits well under my desk. So far I haven’t had to power off my PCs. I am confident it will protect my systems.

Reliable and Compact
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a fairly compact tower-type UPS that uses a single sealed lead-acid battery. Models with more than 1000VA output capacity requires more batteries, making this ideal if a compact UPS is what's needed. Very straight-forward to use. Note that after unpacking the UPS, the battery needs to be connected (It's unplugged for safety). The battery can be replaced without tools by sliding the cover and swapping the battery (With the UPS unplugged). It has three buttons in the front: Alarm mute, power on/off and a menu button to scroll through different readings. The display is easy to read without being too bright (Load, battery, voltage, watts and so forth). Holding the menu button turns off the display (When not running on battery), or leaves it always on. Keep in mind that this UPS does not produce a sine wave like an AC power outlet, but an 'approximate' (stepped) sine wave. This is not an issue with most PCs and consumer electronics, but can be an issue with more sensitive devices. On the back, there's a row of 4 battery-protected outlets and 4 that are surge-protected. There is also a ethernet protection (2 ports) and coax cable protection. These are to protect equipment from surge due to lighting on network and coax cables, it doesn't do anything else, but valuable feature where needed. There is also a management port. Oddly, it uses a proprietary RJ45 to USB-A cable and an RJ45 to RS232 serial can be purchased separately. I would've preferred a standard USB port. Not sure why this is still built this way. Connected the USB to a Mac and it automatically recognized the UPS, indicating if it was running on battery power, time and percentage remaining. There is nothing to install on macOS, and it just worked. Connecting the USB cable is not necessary however, but the computer won't be able to prepare for shutdown when the battery runs off. APC provides a software 'PowerChute' for Windows to provide similar information. My setup that includes a laptop, large monitor, USB devices, etc. uses about 100W and I was able to run on battery power alone for over 45 minutes. When running on battery, it produces a loud humming. This is normal. The battery should last from 3 to 5 years, and it comes with a 3-year warranty. I've been using APC UPSs for many years, and all of them worked when needed.

Worth it for peace of mind
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wish I would have purchased one of these a long time ago. I ended up having having a corrupted computer hard drive from sudden electrical blackouts. Cost 300 to fix it.

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works great with my gaming machine. We have alot of power spikes and outages here and it tends to blow things up. I also love this thing because it has a watt meter on the front also. Cant live without it now. Protects my gear.

Strong unit with lots of options
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While many homes have shifted to laptops with their own internal batteries, we’ve also become dependent on the internet, even to report power problems. APC’s BX 1000 backup will give you 90-120 minutes run time for your router and other internet equipment, depending on your individual set up. I have two network hard drives, a switch, a router, and an Amazon box drawing current, and the backup indicates 90 minutes. APC is a long established brand in battery backup boxes. The BX1000 extends that line with an energy efficient design and a few nice extras. It has 8 widely spaced plugs which fit smaller transformers next to each other. 4 ports are battery backed with the other 4 having only surge protection. The battery backed ports also have circuitry to protect against undervoltage and overvoltage coming through your line. One neat feature is the power meter. Tapping the information button will show you bits of operating status, including the total draw through the backup unit and the estimated run time left. This can help you decide which devices are battery backed up. I found out, for example, that my LED TV uses ~200W when running vs 5W when it’s off. That translates to a run time of 10 minutes of usage vs 90 minutes with only my internet routers (located behind the TV) pulling down juice. Clearly, it made sense to switch the TV to a surge outlet with that kind of draw. The additional ports give extra protection in today’s multi-device world. In addition to power, this will protect against surges from cable and ethernet. I’m not sure the value of the ethernet protection as its not marked with a speed rating (i.e. Gigabit). I use the cable protection though and there’s no noticeable loss of signal. This is a well designed unit from a well known brand that provides great long term support. Batteries for 10 year old units are still available for sale from the company, suggesting they’ll be supporting this unit for many years to come.

Pretty good if it meets your power needs
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.5 stars so far. Haven’t had to actually use this as intended but I’m quite sure it’ll do the trick of keeping the “lights” on when the ‘lights’ go out. Otherwise, giving it the fiver because of the cool display that shows quite a bit of info. I came from a standard Cyberpower batt backup so this display is pretty cool. Was very interested in knowing how many watts my pc was using and this showed that information perfectly. Otherwise, I’d say this is standard APC quality but will only really know when the power goes out. Remember your power consumption needs and buy the right VA for your setup. Thankfully this met my needs… My build so if you have a similar build, this product will work: Ryzen 7 5800x3d MSI X570s Tomahawk mobo RTX 4070 ti 2x16 Corsair Ram 3200 mhz Noctua Nhu12s redux

Great at keeping internet going for 60+ mins
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have this ups connected to my HTPC and cable internet modem and router. We recently had a power outage in an afternoon snowstorm. After loosing power, we were able to continue using internet for an additional 60+ mins with this. Likely would have been longer, but I didn’t shut the pc down right away since it was in standby mode at the time. It did what I needed it to do by protecting the pc from a hard shut down AND let us keep using internet during work from home. My wife was able to finish a meeting she was on when the power went out.

Flawless - So Far
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This unit was bought as a backup for a NAS system and has been in service for over a year with no problems to speak of. It has worked flawlessly during blackouts and has also kicked in during some rare instances of brownouts. Battery life is as expected, and has given me ample time to shut down necessities when blackouts have occured for longer stretches. No complaints, it just works, isn't ugly, and the buttons/UI are intuitive enough. It has yet to fail.

Excellent power protection
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the front-panel display - it shows (among other things) how long the unit expects to be able to support the load during a power outage, you don't have to have a computer connected to the USB Data port running the PowerChute program. Very good when what you are protecting is an expensive TV for instance. With a total load of seventy watts this will last almost an hour. But the main reason to have battery-backup power for electronic devices is to protect them from damage caused by dropouts and surges during storms, or when a car hits a pole down the street.

Tired of dropping power in the middle of meetings.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I work from home. We live in the older part of town with overhead utility power. Several times lately I have lost power in the middle of meetings so I get dropped. My cell phone coverage is bad so I can’t use it as a hotspot for my laptop. I bought this UPS so I can keep my cable modem and router up and running when we lose power. My coworker lives in town also and I have been suggesting that gets a similar set up.
