Great speaker, but lacking on assistant functions

The HomePod is a spectacular speaker that well fills the space in which we have it configured. It looks great and its appearance obnoxious like the big Echo device from Amazon. The Siri functionality is a bit limited, like the mobile version, and so some queries are just not possible. But overall, it does what I want it to do and I don’t have to settle for Amazon stealing all my information.

Amazing sound quality but sometimes there is a static not really noticeable and rarely happens also Siri sometimes is not responsive but the functionality of this speaker is a lot from just listening to music to using it for movies because it has the Dolby sound system which is really immersive also it looks good

Purchased two open box units and they are good as new. Great stereo separation and full clear sound including bass response. Obviously not audiophile but hard to beat the size. Siri is a bit hit or miss but really handy for volume control and music selection.

The speaker itself still sounds amazing for normal music streaming compare to the 1st gen. Especially paired with another HomePod. The seamless cooperation with Apple TV is so convenient to use them as your TV speakers. However, maybe it’s because the new placement I have these in my room, the microphone seems having some trouble picking up my commands sometimes. This never happened on my 1st gen HomePod. Or maybe because less microphones indeed effects their ability to sense voice commands.

Great sound quality for the size of the speaker. Also, I like how easily it connects with the iPhone.

The sound quality is unmatched by Alexa devices. However, my kids used to use Alexa to call me on my phone and the HomePod does not have that function.

ive replaced this with 2x sonos 300. honestly the sonos DOES sound slightly better, but at the same time i’ve yet to try both. but AGAIN at the same time, i have yet to BOTH to try the sonos 300s’ses at the same time. I feel like thats the only way to determine which setup is better or not.

I initially tried using 2 home pod mini for my tv speakers but they did not work for my large vaulted ceiling room. The HomePod 2’s work well for my space. Are they perfect, no, but they were in my ecosystem and provide good enough sound compared to my tv speakers.

Apple’s second attempt with the Homepod has surprisingly drawn me in to purchase this item. The new Thermostat features as well as the updated firmware that allows Airplay is also a W. Siri is still lacking however but everything else makes up for it.

Very good with going into more detail about the weather than Google or Alexa but doesn’t pick up on speech as well like when you ask for spelling or definitions and it doesn’t announce reminders unlike Alexa.

Great little device, but sound wise, not as great as the first gen. So I decided to keep both of them where they sound great together!

It's great for what it is. I had an alexa system before, but recently we switched over to apple home due to some controversy around the Amazon Alexa products with their privacy & data terms. The sound quality is great for my open floor plan home. The homepod is really helpful for answering questions about weather, listening to music and helping me turn off and on any products that are linked to my apple hoem, also functions as my home doorbell sound maker for my camera doorbell. I haven't truly finished using it to it's full potential, but I will say that I did get a little used to the interactiveness of Alexa+, which isn't fair at all to the Apple HomePod. Other than that, I love it so far and that's even without exploring the full capabilities, I'm hopeful that Apple has plans to better compete with its competitors in the future, the interactiveness will hopefully get better over time, especially with the intergration of AI Chatbots as of lately.

Sounds great good design only flaw is you MUST have a gen 2 or newer apple tv 4k for passthru to work. Your game system or blueray player wont play on this without it.

Gets the job done. I bought the HomePod as a gift for a music lover and the first thing he noticed was how loud it was when it was first plugged in. Next thing you know he’s blasting music around the apartment and the bass is booming.

I am a consistent Apple product user. From the iPhone, Apple TV, Watch, now the HomePods! I love how it is all connected with your account. Easy set up! The sound is perfect! I love how you can use it for speakers for your tv. I was able to set it up as my own surround sound! I would have to say there is one little struggle I have had. I was rearranging my living room where I had to unplug them. When I replugged both of my HomePods were no longer synced together. I had to remove it from my account and re-add it. I’m not sure if it was a weird glitch but my advice would be when you set it up, don’t unplug.

Great sound as a pair for stereo HomePods for Dolby atmos but for the cost, a Sonos Arc or Arc Ultra beat it. Otherwise not bad. My frustration was they would disconnect from my Apple TV. It became a huge problem, so I returned them and bought a Sonos Arc Ultra.

The Apple HomePod is small but mighty. It really has good range of sound for how unassuming it is. The bass is really good considering it isn’t an actual subwoofer. Dialogue while watching movies/shows is clear even during chaotic scenes. I love listening to music with it.

Sound quality is good, vocals sound great, volume and bass are also very good, definitely an upgrade from macbook pro speakers. Flaw is connectivity: always a 1-2 second lag when pressing play from airplay2. Native support for third party (non-apple music) works but super confusing to set up, really annoying. I wish it worker as easy as google speakers for spotify/tidal/youtube music. Aesthetics of homepod are also super clean and nice. Another big gripe is siri. Unexcusably bad. Siri team needs to be fired.
