Have to repeatedly enter passwords for Touch ID and even then it won’t work.

Worst iPhone Ever

I have had iPhones since they have come out and have loved them, but this one by far is the worst one I have ever owned, and I have had a Pantac flip phone with a keyboard and it was better than this phone. The talk to dictation is a joke and I have to restart programs all the time like for messages, it won't have a data box to type a response and I will double click the menu and restart the program to get the datat box back. Last time I will ever get an Apple product.

I have always been the type to purchase the latest and greatest iPhone. I have had every iPhone since the iPhone 3G. When the X was announced, I was very impressed with the display and technology behind FaceID, however, TouchID was something I was not willing to give up. I tried a Samsung Galaxy S8+ and loved the display and force press home button at the bottom. I returned the device due to the OS and applications were not as well built as with iOS.
I chose this 8+ due to having Touch ID, ability to have a home button of some sort, wider aspect ratio, $200 cheaper, easier repairability. This phone has the exact same specs for the exception of the display, FaceID, and OIS on the telephoto lens which I rarely use anyways.
Battery life coming from a 7+ is great, although a modest improvement. I can usually get about 8 hours of usage and 24 hours of standby.
Video quality seems to be greatly improved, I love 4K 60 FPS and 1080P 240 FPS is amazing!
Overall speed and performance is unreal. It's amazing how fast the A11 chip is.
I love wireless charging. Picked up some Samsung wireless chargers and I don't think I have plugged the phone in once since i've had it. I will say that I had to put the phone on a scheduled DND since I am unable to lay it on it's face to charge with wireless charging. At night, notifications would illuminate my entire bedroom if I did not schedule DND.

Awesome device! Easy to navigate, sync with other devices & media via iCloud & iTunes! A little bulky, but the larger screen is awesome! I like the ability to charge by setting it on top of the charger.
Note: you lose the analogue jack on this version and have to use the adapter so be sure to purchase the charging base so you can charge whilst grooving to your music!!!

The iPhone 8 Plus is just as fast as the iPhone X since they both have the same processor and same camera. The 8 Plus lets you keep the Touch ID and still have more screen real estate to use. Battery lasts a whole day and then some.

It’s an iPhone. Other mobile phones aren’t. Do you need more?
I previously had an iPhone 6 Plus for three years. This is a definite improvement in speed and connectivity. I haven’t tried all the new features yet. It’s a noticeably heavier iPhone than the 6 Plus due to 3D Touch mechanism and the glass back panel. New features like 3D Touch and raise to wake reduce the number of times you push buttons. The updated home button (vs the 6) is markedly faster.
My only thing I haven’t liked is that the 3D Touch vibration is noticeably weaker than the iPhones without 3D Touch, even turned up to max.
Definitely a good upgrade for pre-7 owners.

I’ve been on iOS forever. Love the new Samsung hardware but I love iOS more. It’s what I’m used to, what I know and it works with pretty much most applications because a ton of other people use iPhones.
That said, I felt kind of underwhelmed by the flagship this year. While the X has some neat new features, I don’t want to be the guinea pig for the phone of the future. For the money, it’s just not worth it to me, but this is just my opinion. I figured I’d let Apple take another year or so to work on OLED, interface-finessing and so forth.
So I went with a tried and true design. This design has been around for a few years in most regards. However, I tend to like things that are solid performers and dialed in. The last thing I want to do is be frustrated by new tech. That notch is fine to me, but I bet it poses a lot of UI challenges and the need for specialized support for mobile web (especially on fixed sticky-navs).
True, the exterior design on the 8 series is a bit long in the tooth, but the screen is plenty big for media content, faster typing, etc. and the speakers sound good for a phone. The processor (same as the one in the flagship) is snappy. And, Touch ID works quite well and I like using it. This is another HUGE reason I stayed with the legacy-design. While Face ID may be great and all (and do t get me wrong, the X’s cameras and AR capabilities with face mapping are really amazing) I just don’t want to always have to gaze awkwardly at my phone to do things. It will get better I’m sure, but Touch ID is fine and I will continue hoping they retain it in the future–even if under the screen, which would be ideal.
The glass back is fine. While it looks nice out of the case, mine goes right into a case so it’s whatever. I would prefer aluminum but glass is fine if I ever use wireless charging…which for me is still a few years off b/c I don’t want to spend the scratch for a slower charging process. Again, perhaps that will get better.
I don’t really care about the lack of a headphone jack. I use AirPods or Beats Solo3s anyways, so I ditched wires a while back for listening to music. The sound quality is good enough for me.
Lastly, battery life is good, there are a ton of first and third party accessories available and I have zero regrets on updating to the larger screen format from my 6S which was a great phone and was still performing well for me. I just wanted a bit better camera and my dad needed a new phone, so there you go.
My wife upgraded her older 6+ for an 8+ and she’s enjoying hers as well.
Final thought: I use my phone more than most other things and it does a large number of tasks and provides a lot of entertainment for me. I want something snappy, reliable, well supported and secure. It’s a big investment, but if this phone can last me 3 years, I’ll be quite pleased and based on the performance of my 6s (my batteries were replaced by Apple about just over a year in, so I never experienced this slow down that was sensationalized in the media) I feel it will continue to work well for my needs.

I am past wanting to pay top dollar for the absolute latest smartphone technology. It’s freaking expensive. I had done that before, only to watch the technology of my iPhone 5 slowly but surely struggle more and more with increasingly complex application software, even though it was in perfect condition. The 8 Plus was a very good compromise for me. The large screen and the increased battery life were a big step up, and the improvement in the camera technology with this iPhone model made this a clear choice. The sound is much improved and the processors are quick and agile. Surprisingly, I find that this phone gets better reception than my old 5, even though I use the same carrier. I read an online review about this being “the best, last version of the old familiar iPhone, before Apple changed the overall design with the X.” I’m very happy with this phone and happy that I didn’t spend up to $600 more just to try and capture the fleeting moment of the cutting edge of a technology (the XR and XS). The iPhone 8 Plus is pretty great for my needs.

Got this 8 plus and LOVE it!
Super fast
Great screen
Others talked about cracking sounds while on the phone mine is clear and sounds great
Fantastic pictures
Touch ID is awesome for many apps like my online banking.
256 gb storage last iPhone was 64 gb
Did I mention super fast?
Stereo speakers that can go very high on sound output
Have not had any dropped calls to date
It is big so going from a iPhone 5 to this takes some getting used to but I really like this iPhone.

Apple iPhone always exceed expectations of consumers in reliability, speed and ease of use. This phone is essentially an iPhone X in the body of an iPhone 7 Plus. The screen is great and will make such a difference in eye strain with the adaptive coloring. The screen supports HDR so it makes viewing movies that much better. It is just a great phone. The only negative is how much fingerprints it collects on the back glass. The positive of the back glass is the wireless charger!

I will preface this with I was an android user for almost 8 years (since the OG DROID). The phone is nice in the hand. No bloat. Everything just works. Battery gets me through an entire day on heavy use. Games play smooth. Apps load quickly. I haven't found a single thing wrong with it in the week I've had it. Highly recommended as someone who was android before. IOS 11 has some great features. The portrait mode camera is awesome!

Upgrade from an iPhone 6, love the bigger screen, the much improved camera and excellent speed of this new phone. Also like the wireless charging capability.Only downside is the hefty weight of the phone, but that's the price you pay for the bigger screen.

Walked in and was able to snag a 8 plus with no hassles and no wait every time I buy my phone I skip even trying to go the providers store and just go straight to best buy happy every time. I love the phone taking a while to get use to the size but the camera and battery life and screen are amazing.

So far, the phone has lived up to its expectations. Longer battery life. Larger, higher definition screen, smarter camera, durable, better sound quality. Sales person was knowledgeable, helpful, polite, and patient.

I like the battery life over my old iPhone 6. I was worried about the size of the phone, but am glad I didn't go with the smaller iPhone 8. I only wish they didn't get rid of the 3.5 mm headphone port.

I had been operating on the iPhone 6s for a couple of years. It was getting sluggish and the 64GB’s were used up. I looked at the new iPhoneX, but the wait time was not acceptable to me. So I looked at the 8 and 8+. I liked the larger size of the 8+. Some say that it is too large in their hand, but it fit me perfectly. My wife went with the 8 as it was smaller. A week in and I am super pleased with my purchase. And the switch from Verizon was a little painful, but the AT&T buy one get one deal was killer. I did go with the 256GB size which should be ample for my business needs.
