I upgraded to iPhone XS from 6s and you can definitely feel the difference in the speed and quality of the phone. The OLED screen is just gorgeous and extremely color accurate. You can feel the phone is very fast and dual camera takes some beautiful pictures.
But is it worth 1000? It depends how much you use your device and care of the latest things. It is good upgrade from the iphone 6 and 7 but not from X. The face unlock is fast and accurate and works 95 percent of the time. I don't miss my fingerprint. The dual camera takes some beautiful low light photos and apple is way ahead in video quality. Iphone is also generation ahead in terms of processor. This phone is insanely fast, I mean really fast. The graphics on the games looks so stunning in the OLED screen.
Lots of people complain about the notch but it is barely noticeable after couple of days. You would simply not care after a while. Apple did a bad move by not including the headphone adapter in a 1k phone which is just really pathetic for a trillion dollar company.
I don't know where apple would take the next generation of iPhone from this design and I feel like the iPhone has matured to its point. And people would use their phone longer than before as the price has also increased much higher.
For a thousand dollar, iPhone XS is priced 200 higher that its worth but if you want a best phone which has great app store, a privacy focus close software and just great combination of hardware and software experience, it is the king of the HILL.

The iPhone XS is essentailly the PERFECTED iPhone X. It’s display is beautiful. It’s bright (though I wish it was brighter) very vivid, bold, and sharp. The camera is outstanding and as usual, iOS is very smooth. The A12 chip dishes out almost unbeatable performance. It also packs a 5.8 inch screen (larger than the 5.5 inch of the plus model iPhones) into a much smaller body. If the XS Max is too big for you, this phone is still very excellent. It also starts out at only 64gb of storage. For me, 64 gigabytes is more than enough, but for other users they may need to get the 256 or 512gb version.

Awesome upgrade for me coming from an iphone 6S Plus. I was torn between getting this, the XS Max, the XR or finally jumping ship and going back to Android and getting the Google Pixel 3XL. Decided to stick with the iOS ecosystem.
At first I thought i'd get the XR because of the cheaper price and better battery life but decided to go with the XS because I didn't like that the "portrait mode" on the XR could only detect faces and I wanted to be able to take pics of objects in portrait mode. I don't even really use the portrait mode though. In hindsight, I think I would have saved the money and got the XR and have the better battery life.
The XS itself is a great phone. The camera is great, FaceID works SUPER FAST (I'm amazed at how fast still), and the screen is beautiful. I'll admit the notch is still obnoxious but i've gotten use to it and don't notice it as much anymore. Also, coming from a 6S Plus with a home button, it did take a little time getting use to not having a home button (a week or two atleast for me). Phone overall is super fast and works great.
The few things that keep me from giving this phone a 5 star rating are:
1) The price. Super expensive for a cell phone especially when you consider what the competition is charging for a comparable (possibly better) phone.
2) Battery life is okay, could be way better. As a heavy user, I can barely go the whole day without having to charge my phone (especially now that I've added an apple watch to my daily essentials)
3) Not being offered with a 128gb harddrive. Going from 64gb to 256gb is such a big gap. I think 128 is more than enough for most users. Price the 64gb even cheaper and then adding a 128gb between that and the cost of the 256gb would have been awesome
4) Not having a headphone jack. Not usually an issue for me since I do have airpods but I did forget my airpods for the gym the other day and couldn't buy cheap headphones for the day since the phone didn't have a headphone jack.
Overall would definitely would recommend this phone especially if you're coming from an older model like i was,

My last iPhone was over 3 years ago, so I was due. The iPhone 10XS is perfect. More space, better battery, nice photos and very responsive!
I store everything in the cloud so transfer was simple. Put in my old Simm card and it all worked great.
I had to get use to no home button, but my swiping is getting better all the time.
Lucky for me, my 18 1/2 year old son has the same model and could show me some new moves!
I love that this is NOT too big, in fact just slightly larger than my old iPhone 6s. I am very happy.

This is my 2nd IPhone and so far I couldn’t be happier with it. It is taking a little getting used to with the design changes but it has been rather painless. It would have been handy to have the often cried about 3.5mm jack, but I actually don’t miss it. The Face ID has worked quite nicely with no problems. It is a very fast operating phone and the battery life has been great. I can go almost 2 full days with limited use and nearly 18 hours with moderate to moderately heavy use. Quite thrilled!!

I am very pleased with the iPhone XS. It’s display is crystal clear and it’s colors are beautiful as are the photos that it produces. The processor is very fast and the phone itself is easy to navigate. And although I was a bit weary of the Touch ID sensor being replaced with Facial Recognition, I have not experienced any issues with the Face ID function.
I am very happy with my purchase of the iPhone XS and would highly recommend it to others.

Finally upgraded my dinosaur Iphone 5s and am very happy. So much faster, I like the face recognition for easy access and the camera is nice. It's larger than my 5s but not as large as the 11, which I felt was too big for me and my pockets. Glad I got it at the reduced price, made the purchase so much easier. Transitioning everything was very easy through the Cloud.

Feels like a leap from my iPhone 8s

While my iPhone 8S was only 18 months old when I purchased this, the XS just feels leaps and bounds ahead of it. Not having a home button was probably the hardest adjustment, but (while it still freaks me out a little) the facial recognition unlock works really well. The OLED screen is vastly superior to my previous phone, and the camera... particularly in Portrait Mode... creates stunning images I would never have expected from a phone.
Stepped down from 256GB because so much of my "stuff" is on the cloud now, I just didn't see the benefit for a larger hard drive. I'm happy with this phone, and fully expect it to carry me through a full 2-year agreement. (I hardly ever keep a phone that long)

There will always be new phones every year that are better than the ones before but not by much. This phone was an amazing value and its small , not as small as the new iphone mini but close enough, battery life is decent , screen is amazing and has lots of storage that you can't beat for $449.99, why you pass that up?

Long time iPhone user here and never switched my phone for androids. Love the new sleek design on Xs, full screen is big enough to fit in my pockets so don’t really need max version. Camera is functioning a lot better than the previous generations. Only concern is that they didn’t make 128G so if you want to go for the middle ground this 256G is more than enough for storage.

Overpriced but isn’t everything anymore? I guess in the world of tech miniaturization is always pricey so smartphone costs rising shouldn’t be a big surprise especially since it is replacing the computer for so many people. Works great, great size, bigger yet not ridiculously so, sturdy....lots of storage, fast... great upgrade from the 7.

Recently upgraded from an iPhone 7. I thought about getting an 8 but decided to take the step to the Xs. There are a few new things to get used to, but I'm getting there. The small increase in size makes a difference in carrying in your pocket but is not overwhelming. It's a little heavier and a bit more of a stretch to operate with one hand, but is worth it though for the larger screen size. Next is no home button, which takes a few days to get used to. The facial recognition works well. You don't really have to stare at the phone for it to know who you are. I'm not really sure if the operating system is that much faster than my previous device, but it's okay. The camera takes really nice photos. All in all, I'm glad I took the next step. Bonus: If you're a Total Tech Support member you receive around a 25 percent discount on AppleCare.

I’ve had my Gold Xs for a week and couldn’t be happier with it. The size is just right. I just spent 5 days in DC taking pictures in all kinds of conditions and it has performed very well as I expected it would. I traded up from an 8+ which was also a very good phone but after a year I was getting tired of the large size. I find I like the FaceID much better than I expected. It works!!! I particularly like that it works for passwords which is fantastic. Speed is great. All in all, I’m very happy with the Xs. Apple has hit it out of the ballpark!

Phone is very fast and huge storage for a good price as compared to new iphone models. I do like that it is not to big. New IOS 14.2 is great, it takes me back to my android where I can customize the home screen and apps although it is still limited. But better than nothing. Battery life is a plus, it lasts me full 2 days without charging. Only 4 stars because I am still learning to work the NO-HOME button. Otherwise it is a great phone.

I was nervous to jump to an XS from my iPhone 6 because of its additional weight. I'm pleased to say, it doesn't bother me at all. The phone works great, takes gorgeous pictures and does everything else I need it for. It is VERY fast and the battery holds much longer than my 6.

Bought this phone for my daughter for Xmas to replace her aging iPhone 6. The craftsmanship of Apple products like this one continues to amaze me. Some folks like to criticize Apple for sometimes coming late to the party with technology that has already been available for a while. Fact is, Apple usually continues to lead in mobile phone innovation, but when they do add features that already exist in other products, they nearly always up the game and do it better. Classic Apple is to improve upon an existing concept (like they did with music players, mobile phones, computers, etc).
It is for this reason that finally letting go of the physical Home button and the old-style earphone jack have been painless and smooth. It is that "oh, I see" moment you experience when you actually use the product and realize the reason for the changes makes absolute sense. Super fast, smooth, and fluid and packing all the latest tech from Apple in terms of gaming, camera, video, AI, AR, etc.

So far so good with my new iPhone which was a replacement for my iPhone 6. Bigger and more screen area so able to see more. Has taken some time to get used to the swiping motion you use to open things rather than pushing the home button, but the good thing is there are no longer open pages which I would forever forget to close and then spend some time closing them all when it seemed that my battery was depleting or the phone seemed to slow down. I do miss the headphone jack. Great picture and the battery seams to last forever.

Amazing display, camera and very fast. Upgraded to XS from iPhone 6S and what a huge improvement. Decided to go with the extra memory to support extra local storage for videos, pictures & music. Only con is the high cost of about $1K.
