Last Intel Mini
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was deciding between this and m1 and m2…. Ultimately i went with the intel because i wanted to be able to upgrade the ram afterwards and it might be a 5 years old machine but a much improvement over my 2012 macbook pro…. Has latest software and can still be bootcamped… plus now i have 36 gb ram and can upgrade to 64 in the future…. Also having 4 thunderbolt 3 ports turned out alot more useful then i thought

Replaced 2014 Macmini with the 2018 model.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I must say, a great upgrade from my 2014 Mac mini. Still using my 2014 for general use. I purchased the 2018 model just for media production only. I'm a singer, song writer and audio engineer, this was a great upgrade for my home studio. 6 cores make a big difference when working in media production. No more audio dropouts, working with video is very smooth. I did get the model with only 8 GB for ram which I just recently upgrade it to 32 GB, did it myself and saved $400.00. Happy with purchase !

Little beast
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Mac Mini is a really cool little computer! It's small and looks nice on my desk. I can tell you it works really well for everything I do. I use it for browsing the internet, watching videos, and doing some basic photo editing. It's super fast and doesn't get all hot and noisy like my old computer did. I like that it has a bunch of different ports, so I can plug in my printer, external hard drive, and even connect it to my TV. Setting it up was pretty easy too. I just plugged in the power cord, connected my monitor, and turned it on. It walked me through the setup process step by step, so I didn't get confused. The only thing I wish it had is more storage. I filled it up pretty quickly with all my photos and files. But I heard you can add more storage later if you want. Overall, I'm really happy with my Mac Mini. It does everything I need it to do and it looks cute sitting on my desk. If you're like me and don't know much about computers, but still want something powerful, I definitely recommend the Mac Mini!

Fast Mac with a few quirks
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my third macOS machine I’ve ever owned. I’ve been an Apple loyalist since my first MacBook Pro in 2006, and I really needed a new Mac that didn’t cost a fortune. Right out of the box, it was really snappy. The Magic Keyboard and Mouse work great with it, though I’ve had some brief mouse connectivity issues - especially if wifi is ever turned on (I normally use the Ethernet connection as an internet source). There was an issue with the display with snow on the monitor when the Mac was awakened from sleep, and my digging online has shown this to be an issue with monitors connected via HDMI. I bought an Thunderbolt to HDMI adapter, and that has seemed to stop. I had some quirky issues with macOS, but turning off FileVault has seemed to have stoped them (for now). Otherwise, it’s a great desktop that I would recommend - especially for those not wanting to spend $2k on a MacBook Pro.

Better than expected
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My 2011 iMac was still kickin butt but with all the new software that is coming out plus os updates it had reached its end still good but couldn’t work in my studio with all the new equipment I have so the upgrade was needed. I didn’t need a monitor and I didn’t need accessories what I needed was some power and upgrade ability. I swapped the ram out and put in 32gb myself. If space is what you’re worried about it’s cheaper to buy an ssd external drive Apple charges so much to upgrade the internal drives. I use this to score music and it’s a beast of a machine. video editors beware if you have an eye on this you’ll have to dish out some more money for an external gpu, and the enclosure so that can easily run you another $500 together which begs the question if you should just get a newer iMac. Whatever you choose keep in mind that some video software may not work with the intel chip so make sure your iMac has an nvidia card or amd. Also do not connect the enclosure to the Mac mini until after it’s powered on, it’s a common issue with some minis that make it difficult to boot the screen up when the enclosure is connected on initial boot. Annoying yes but not really out of this world.

Great portable desktop!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are looking for a Mac desktop but want something more portable than an iMac, then I recommend the Mac mini. I was looking for a computer for home use so I didn't burn up my MacBook Pro plugged into speakers and 2 monitors for hours and sometimes days on end. Even though I don't travel much, I like the idea that I can unplug it and take it with me easily, where it is much harder and riskier to do that with an iMac. Please know that if you want more than 8gb ram and aren't fantastic with taking apart computers, I would think about paying the extra money and getting it from apple directly. I bought the 8gb knowing it was 'upgradeable' but the truth is that any authorized apple dealer must charge you the cost of apple ram (which is >$400 for another 8gb).. The Mac mini has to be taken apart almost completely just to get to the ram. I'm happy with the 8gb and don't feel like it is slow especially with the i5 processor, but based on your needs you might want to consider upgrading to start with.

Great compacted Mac
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this for my wife because she really wanted a new Mac to teach virtually from. Couldn’t get an iMac because we already have my desktop and monitor and no where for a large all in one to fit but saw this and with my monitor having dual hdmi inputs we have both our computers hooked up and running on the same desk. This computer is so compacted that it takes up almost no space and has worked out perfectly for our situation. Down side to this Mac though is the lack of USB ports but it does have lightning ports so with a converter or a hub you can increase the number of USB ports. One major concern I have is that the computer runs really hot. Not sure if this is normal but I bought the 3 year Apple care and I’m glad I did just in case the computer overheats and causes damage to any of its components.

A good first Mac device
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the Mac mini to add a Mac device to my home office to be able to better manage my Apple mobile devices (iPad, iPhone, and iPod) than I have been able to do with the Windows software from Apple. I chose the 2018 Mac mini as the RAM is upgradeable (iFixit has instructions for the upgrade) and I wanted an Intel processor for compatibility along with RAM upgradeability. The device has worked well and it has not been difficult to use it since it is my first Mac. The software upgrade to Big Sur was easy and I have been enjoying learning the MacOS and the Mac experience. Remote desktop access is through VNC as Microsoft RDP is proprietary, but the remote access experience works well once it is configured.

Love this thing...
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A Mac Mini is IMO the most dynamic or all affordable Mac models - it has a ton of USC-C ports, an audio port, USB ports, its fast, super quiet and portable. The graphics chip is basic, but you can get an EGPU (Get a Razer Core X box and a compatible card) and automatically turn this thing into a gaming machine.

Ordered better version but had to settle
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I ordered the fast i7 with 16gb RAM and 1TB drive. After the sale went through I was emailed that the order was cancelled without any explanation. I had to get on chat to find out it was sold out and they couldn't honor the purchase. Don't know how that's possible since it was available at Apple and other vender had it. However I wanted to use points and financing so I ordered this one to get me by. Wish I would've waited until the M1 came out. I hope to get 7 years out of this but not sure Apple will support that long like they will the M1.

New experience for an x-Windows guy
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am pretty sure this Mac Mini should be rated 5. It seems to work great. I switched over from Windows in August, and honestly, I am still learning. I thought I would be a bit better with the learning curve. Also learned quick, some software does not work with this computer. The Mac Mini is not cheap either. I also learned, accessories such as mouse and keyboard are not cheap for the Mac. I had to buy both as this computer did not come with either. Overall, I really do like this computer. It is very quiet, very fast, and great for work. Big space saver too!

MacMini's do the job!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.MacMini's work well for what I do! They are quiet, which is a must, not to mention they are very capable machines. I've got a 2014 mini which I still use. The 2018 does get a little warm, but it seems that's how it works.

A Fast, Quiet, small computer.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Mac Mini is a great machine, The 6 core, 3.0ghz I5 processor is fast. I use it mostly for Photography editing, using Adobe Lightroom. It has plenty of I/O ports, USB-C, USB-A, ethernet, hdmi and audio jack. It’s very quiet, no loud fan noise. The 512 SSD drive is very fast also. I measured about 1900MBs write speed and about 2400 MBs read speed. Small and compact easy to fit anywhere. I pair a Logitech MX keys bluetooth keyboard that has 3 Bluetooth connections so you can pair 3 devices and switch between them, Like your phone, ipad and computer. I also purchased the Apple

Very satisfied. Much better than base version
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I first purchased base version of this Mac mini - with Core i3. Although it was a good machine but it was slower than my sons HP Pavilion laptop that is much cheaper. I returned it and purchased this one. It is noticeably faster. No surprise here, I guess. since it has 6-core core i5 compared to 4-core core i3 in the base model. plus it has 512Gb vs 256 Gb in the base one. and it is just $300 more. I believe this is the version to buy if you think about purchasing Mac mini, not the base version

Great computer in a tiny footprint
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my second Mac, having previously used an iMac for a few years. The SSD makes a HUGE difference in startup and shutdown, and Catalina is a rock-solid OS. I’d like more than two USB ports, but the four USB-C ports more than make up for it. If you like Macs and want to choose your own display, this is an excellent small desktop.
