Purchased in June 2023 and I just noticed that it’s making lines in my screen where the folds are in the cover. I’m guessing it’s from oil from my hands on the inside of the cover from holding it but I’m not 100% sure. I’ve wiped it with a dry micro cloth but the lines are still there. I guess I’ll have to clean it another way. This as never happened before with an Apple cover, there must have been some manufacturing change. In the meantime I’m removing the cover and just using it without one.

The iPad falls out. It is supposed to hold the iPad in place, but it literally falls out when you turn it downwards. For something so vey expensive compared to well, pretty much anything else on the market, definitely not worth it.

Lets be really applle accessories are meant for the iPad used at home, and i use that word loosely.

They delivered to another house. Customer service said they would refund my money or send me another one, but it didn't happen.

Before buying I asked an advisor and he gave me a wrong item

Over the years, my wife and I have bought over five iPads. I´ve lost count of how many iPhones my wife has had. We always buy official Apple accessories (cables, chargers, folios etc.) I mention this upfront so that you understand that what follows comes from a loyal customer and not some Android fanboy just having a whiny rant. It´s a loyal customer having a whiny rant. I decided to buy my wife a smart folio for her iPad Pro as a birthday present. It was a great disappointment. In fact, I would go so far as to say it doesn´t work. We have always bought Apple Smart Folios for our iPads. We had tried cheaper third-party products, but I guess you get what you pay for. Though the Apple Smart Folios were far more expensive, there was no doubt that they were extremely well made from quality materials and worked extremely well. When my wife bought her new iPad Pro, financial constraints obliged her to get a cheap third part cover. For months she was grumbling about how light weight and flimsy it was, how it wasn´t anywhere near as good as the Apple iPad folios, and how she wished she had had the money to afford a proper Apple iPad folio for her new iPad. I can take a hint. I bought one for her birthday. At first, she was delighted with her present. But within hours she was beginning to complain about the new design. Earlier versions of the Smart Folios wrapped around the edge of the iPad and held it in firmly in place. The new version only holds the iPad in place magnetically. You can convince yourself that this is sufficiently robust - as many reviews here seem to do - but it really isn´t. It is possible to dislodge the iPad with only moderately vigorous swiping. If you adjust your position whilst lying recumbent in bed it is very easy to dislodge the iPad from the cover. If you are unlucky, your iPad will tumble with a crash onto the floor leaving you holding the Smart Folio flapping forlornly in the wind. None of these things ever happened with previous incarnations of the Smart Folio. My wife and I have both had our own iPads since 2011. That´s 20 person years of use without incident. I hope Apple see sense and reconsider this design decision for future iterations of the Smart Folio. If they are wedded to the magnetic Smart Folios they think they look cool, well they could produce two versions – one magnetic and one wraparound. (They already effectively produce two versions with the cover and the Smart Folio, so I guess one more will make three). Heck, if cost is an issue, they can charge even more for the wraparound version. I´ll be the first to slap down my hard-earned dosh for a pre-order. But I only want something that works.
