Customers are saying

Customers have good things to say about the easy installation, long battery life, and solar-powered feature of the product. They appreciate that the solar panel is convenient and efficient, helping to keep their cameras charged without the hassle of constantly replacing batteries. However, some customers have concerns about the charging effectiveness, compatibility with older Arlo cameras, price, sunlight requirements, and occasional instances of the solar panel not charging.

Camera stays charged without swapping batteries

Purchased this solar panel for the front of the house and no matter the amount of traffic (people, animals, cars) that go by, the camera always recharges back to 100% without having to swap out batteries. Will be purchasing 3 more for the outside cameras that don't currently have a solar panel attached. Pricey, but good & they work.

It works. But is it worth it?

I bought this because I needed a panel for my fourth Arlo camera. I had already ordered a three pack of Wasserstein panels from Amazon. As it turned out, my local Best Buy had a single Arlo-branded panel so I figured I would try it out to compare the expensive Arlo panel with the cheaper Wasserstein units. So far, as far as performance, the two types of panels are dead even. The camera batteries are full every day there's enough sun to produce electricity. The only real test will be to see if one panel lasts longer than the other. So at least for now, I'd say the $50 Arlo panels are not worth the extra $15 over the Wasserstein panels I got for less than $30 each. Save your money.

Solar panel works well but is a bit pricey compared to the competition.

Works as intended. Keep the battery charged but does not charge the battery. Shouldn’t cost $50

Overpriced in my view. I wish there were alternative ways to hang this as well. I was not to crazy about having to drill holes in the side of my home to support this device.

I purchased the original Arlo solar panel in September 2019. It worked well for 22 months and quit without warning. Checked all the usual things, including output voltage, but it's dead. Because this camera is mounted to a 3d floor roof, the solar panel was very handy. That said, at $79 each, I hesitate to replace it every 22 months.
