I Purchased this for my Ultra 2. Initially bought 3 panels for 3 cameras but I returned two of them. Installation is a breeze and connectivity is simple as charging the camera. I followed all recommendations to make this perform at the optimal operation. As a background I live in Phoenix, Az that it is sunny most of the time. I installed this with my camera at 100% fully charged and face the panel where it would get all day sun exposure with its positioning. It worked fine for a week. After the week my camera percentage dropped to 35% after moderate use. It was not charging. In fact my camera would die and it would take 2 days to give it a little juice to start functioning again. My camera stays at 15-25% battery life with the “it’s charging Indicator.” This is the reason I returned the other panels. If you provide everything the solar panel needs to perform at its best and it performs poorly I can’t recommend it. On the side note with the Ultra 2 it overheats easily and says it needs to cool down. You would think that they would have it in mind when developing this camera to withstand all type of climates. I bought 4 of the Arlo Ultra 2 cameras. The quality is very good but if it’s not working 1/2 the time is it worth it?

I was excited to use this cause I love Arlo products but noticed their battery life isn’t the best. I constantly charge my cameras weekly with the exception of my doorbell. Attached is a picture from Friday. Keep in mind this was fully charged Thursday. It is now Tuesday just a few days later and it’s dead. It says it was “charging” but feel like it made it worse. I give it 2 stars because installation was easy.

You would think that they would have it in mind when developing this camera to withstand all type of climates. I bought 4 of the Arlo Pro XL cameras. The quality is very good but if it’s not working 1/2 the time is it worth it?

Title advertises that it works with arlo pro4, it does not! Does not charge/connect to pro4. Will work on older arlo models though. Only leaving a 2 star because of advertising error.

It did not keep my Arlo charged. I needed to uninstall and charge the Arlo and replace.

LOVED it until they stopped charging. Not sure what arlo is doing with their cameras and solar panels but they are spotty to say the least, but when they do work they are great.

Overpriced in my view. I wish there were alternative ways to hang this as well. I was not to crazy about having to drill holes in the side of my home to support this device.

These need a lot of prolonged direct sunlight to work properly. If placed in ambient light or even in areas with short term direct sunlight they won’t do a thing

I purchased this item because of the activity, the battery would need to be charged every few days. I had a contractor install it and unfortunately it’s so high up that I probably can’t reach it, if it needs maintenance. I’m Not happy with this product because if it’s a cloudy day the battery doesn’t last long since there is a lot of car activity all day long. By 11:00 pm I get a notification that the battery it low with 15%.

Turns out when it's too hot outside the unit and/or the solar panel won't charge the unit. Likely this in intentional but I don't recall reading that in the description or manual. Now I'm looking to place this somewhere in the shade but, unfortunately I can't relocate the camera...so no use for me now.

This solar panel does not work with the older Arlo cameras

Not the best design for homes with rain gutters since there is no place to mount it to get sunlight to charge the cameras. Mounting arm is too short along with the cable to connect it to the camera. Need better design for assortment of mounting situations

The short length of the cable and the proprietary connector means that unless you're willing to move your camera to a potentially less than ideal place simply to be able to connect the solar panel this will be wholly unusable. In the past the solar panels and cameras were standard micro-USB, alas that hasn't been the case for some time apparently.

I've been having troubles with the solar panels I bought. Four of them are no longer charging the cameras to which they are attached. I contacted Arlo, and they didn't seem to have a solution.

I purchased the original Arlo solar panel in September 2019. It worked well for 22 months and quit without warning. Checked all the usual things, including output voltage, but it's dead. Because this camera is mounted to a 3d floor roof, the solar panel was very handy. That said, at $79 each, I hesitate to replace it every 22 months.
