Customers have good things to say about the A20 Gen 2 Wireless Gaming Headset's sound quality, comfort, and long battery life. Many appreciate its wireless functionality, lightweight design, and comfortable fit. While some users mentioned the volume could be higher and compatibility issues with certain devices exist, the positive feedback on audio quality and comfort outweighs these concerns. Ehhh.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The voice/game switch doesn’t work how it’s supposed to. It’s basically just the up/down volume switch. So you have to adjust the volume in the actual game settings so it doesn’t overpower the party chat. I lowkey might return it lol

Sound OK, Get Dolby Atmos
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.--- SETUP --- The setup for the Astros A20 was quick. In the package you can see a USB-C cable, the headsets, and 1 USB dongle transmitter. The transmitter goes plugged into your Xbox or PC and after a quick automatic installation of the software, the transmitter recognizes the headset. --- FEATURES --- The key feature of these Astros is that they are forward compatible with the Xbox Series X/S and, if you purchase a separate dongle, you can use them with a PS5 as well. This Xbox specific headset works with the current gen Xbox One/S. --- PERFORMANCE --- The performance for the stereo headsets was ok compared to others that I’ve used. I tested this headset with DOOM Eternal on Xbox One X and Hades on PC. For games like Hades, I had a great time listening to the voices of the characters with crisp, clear sounds. That game isn’t too intensive when it comes to audio, so it was perfect for that type of game. For DOOM Eternal, a game with lots of heavy bass music and crunchy sounds, I found it lacking in the audio department. However, Xbox has a one-time payment audio feature called Dolby Atmos that turns stereo headsets like this one into a surround sound experience. With that feature on, it was a great improvement. This review doesn’t take in consideration the Dolby Atmos add on, but it’s worth mentioning in case you want to get more out of the headset. --- EXPECTATIONS --- The product has its limitations. However, being a multi console owner, these headsets might redeem themselves once I can get my hands on a PS5 and Xbox Series X as the convenience of not having to switch headsets or transmitters could potentially outweigh the downfalls. Otherwise, the headset itself is light on the head and I found it comfortable for a person who wears glasses. --- VALUE --- The price for the Astros A20s in terms of value is ok for an introductory headset but having to buy only one for two consoles is definitely going to save you money. --- APPROVAL --- I highly recommend this product for people who are new to the gaming headset space and want an easy entry. Additionally, I recommend these headsets for future multi-console / PC owners.

Great Gutz No Body
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are good headphones. There's no arguing that fact. These are my first pair of wireless headphones for my Xbox One X and they definitely do the trick. Latency is at a minimum and the sound is top notch, The mic allows for clear and uninhibited chat. the directional surround sound is creepy good. The bluetooth connectivity is fabulous. I mean, dang! This is what you want in a great pair of headphones, much less, a pair of wireless headphones. The dongle transitions easily between the Xbox One X and my PC like a champ. From the way I'm gushing over these things and by the score I gave it, you're probably awaiting a big ol' BUT. Well, I'm not one to disappoint. Guys and girls. parents and guardians, hear me now. These headphones are for adults that appreciate the value of a dollar. What I mean by that, is simply this. The build quality of these headphone are a step below Fisher Price. These things are just one rage quit away from the trash or a bunch of masking tape. They're poorly built. Simple as that. These are are great sounding a performing headphones, but $119.99 is too much. I recommend these only to grown folk.

Not the Astro's you know...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love Astro headsets. I have the A40 TR's (previous gen before the current) on my Gaming PC and the A50 (current gen) on my PS4 Pro. I've also owned several other Astro's in the past. They are, without a doubt, some of my favorite gaming cans. Now, a while back, Logitech bought Astro, but kept the Astro branding. That's finally starting to show and I'm beginning to feel the lower quality is starting to kick in... Let me explain. As my current gen A50 wireless cans are what I've been using on my PS4 Pro, I may be a little spoiled by them. I love those headphones. I have a small hearing disability and the volume can get LOUD, while keeping it's superb quality. I listen to it at between 1/2 to 3/4 of the max volume, depending on the game and it's comfortable enough for me. I've always kept the firmware updated on them (I hook it to my PC and check every few months) and have never had any issues. There's a reason I'm prefacing the review of these A20's with this. And yes, I know you cannot fairly compare the A20's to their flagship A50's. But there are some elements and differences I'd like to discuss. Now, with the PS5 and Xbox Series X coming around the corner, my A50's will require an HDMI Adapter from Astro, if I want to keep it fully functional - this has a built-in optical input on it, so you can still use the game/voice balance feature. But, here's the problem - that adapter is only HDMI 2.0b...NOT HDMI 2.1. I want to be able to take advantage of HDMI 2.1 when I can and do not want any "bottlenecks", so to speak. I'm using the new LG CX TV and it is ready to go with FreeSync Premium and all the other features. I'm rocking the Samsung Q90R Soundbar as well, but I'm running everything via e-Arc. So, when I seen these A20's, I thought it would simplify my setup and I could just move my A50's to my Gaming PC and take the A40's and use them on my daughter's PC. Now, for the biggest selling point of this headset - you can buy the USB transmitter for the other system and can use one headset for both systems. While my A20's (for PS4/PS5) were being shipped, I went ahead and ordered the Xbox USB transmitter, just so I'd have it for when I got my Series X. When I got my A20's, I was so ecstatic. I couldn't wait - the packaging was so nice. I tore into them and put them on charge immediately. They were not fully charged out of the box, so it took a few hours to get fully charged. All that was included inside was the Headset, the USB Transmitter, the USB-C (nice!) charging cable and a quick-start guide. Ok, they're charged. First thing I do, as with any new gadget/device, is to check for a Firmware update. So, I put the Transmitter in my PC and verify it's on PC mode (a white light). Fire up the Astro Command center and...they're not detected. Ok, odd. So, I figure you have to hook them up via the USB cable. I plug them in (while leaving the Transmitter in as well) and ...no-go. I spent about 20 minutes trying to get it recognized. Counting it as a loss, I e-mail Astro and then plug them into my PS4 Pro. Tap the button to switch to PS4 mode (a blue light) and everything connects and is defaulted correctly. I put them on, change the Audio from "Chat Only" to "All Audio", like normal and...no audio. Looking at the side of the cans. the volume wheel is labeled "Voice" and "Game". I have it all the way over to the Game side and there's nothing. After about 15 minutes of troubleshooting, rotate the wheel all the way to the Voice side and I have audio. But it's not very loud. I keep scrolling and welp, looks like this is about as loud as they get... Slightly disappointed at the overall volume (I was playing Shadow of War at the time), I discover that the blue wheel controls the volume and that the "Game" and "Voice" are actual BUTTONS and not just indicators on which way to scroll the wheel, as they are on other Astro headsets. Please note: The Voice and Game balance buttons do NOT work on PS4/PS5. These only work on PC and Xbox systems. I change games to Nioh 2. The Darkness in the Capital DLC just came out and I'm working my way through it. The audio on Nioh 2 is a bit louder than it was on Shadow of War. So, I've got the volume wheel maxed as far as the audio will go. At max, the volume is about where it is on my A50's at 1/2 - 3/4 of the way. So, I'm slightly disappointed in how loud these get. I was hoping there would be a firmware update to possibly increase this. Speaking of - I did get a reply from Astro. The A20's do not yet currently have an update and is not compatible at this time with their Command Center software. They are working on updates, however. But who knows when this will go live. Astro also said that these would fully support the Tempest audio engine of the PS5 - which I thought was weird because Sony will not allow any 3rd party headsets to use Surround Sound via USB. This is limited to only their 1st party headsets. Hopefully, this will change soon. I also wanted to touch base on how they feel and comfort and go over the audio quality. Now, for the price, I don't expect them to feel as premium as my A50's. Which is fine. The A20's are super light-weight and feel great on, but my biggest issue is they just feel stiff. The ear cups do NOT rotate. At all. This would be my biggest caveat with them. As for audio quality, outside of the overall volume, they do sound a bit hollow and "tinny", compared to my other Astro's or even other brands of gaming cans I own. Maybe a firmware update will help, but I'm basing my review on the out-of-box experience, since that's not currently available. Being a bit disappointed, I cancelled my Xbox USB Transmitter. They'd been on order for over a week at this point, never billed and never shipped. So, I'm gonna move these over to the "spare" headset category for my wife and daughter to use on the PS4 in the front room. I'll remain on the search for a better pair of PS5/Xbox headphones. Conclusion: These will be the first pair of Astro's where I give less than 5 stars. I'm going with 3 out of 5 stars for these due to the max volume level, quality of audio and the general "stiffness" of them. I'll continue to look elsewhere for some gaming cans that better fit my needs and expectations.

Great for kids, not adults
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.By far one of the worst headsets I have ever tried. The main reason being is that the part that rests on top of your head is an odd shape. No one (at least that I know) has a head shaped in the form of a square besides Bob. The padding is fine, just just most of the headset rests on the top of your head and not evenly distributed around your head. Thus it puts a lot of pressure on the top leading to headaches. It also does not extend enough for adults, making the fit a bit tight. The earpads are great and the microphone picks up well. There are two buttons above and below a single wheel to control volume of voice and gameplay. For what it is, it works fine. Overall a 3-star because of comfort and oddly shaped headset. Will be returning for something else.

Good headphones, but does not fit everyone
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Astro A20 headphones are a good entry level headphone. In the box are the headphones, USB dongle, and USB-C charging cable. Out of the box the headset looks unique with a blocky, almost retro, aspect to the ear cups and headband. The mic is on the left side and flips up to mute, meaning you can get it out of the way when not needed. On the right ear is the power, volume and EQ selection button, as well as the USB port. Getting started is easy, the headphones connected seamlessly with both my laptop and my PS4. My favorite aspect of these headphones is the distance from the device. I can freely move about the room and downstairs without losing connectivity. Unfortunately, these headphones did not fit me well. I have an oval shaped head so the flat band hurt the top of my head. See attached photo for a design comparison of my favorite headphones versus these. The ear cuffs are on a slider versus a click/notch system so I found it difficult to get the sizing correct. I can wear them for no more than two hours before my head hurts. The fabric ear cuffs get warm after time as well and do not have the level of padding to provide long term wearability. Lastly, I'm left handed, so when using the USB cable it is in the way since the computer is on my left. I found the sound to be ok. The range was there, however soft nuances in games were not clear and the ends of the sound range were not crisp. For computer tasks such as meetings these were fine, however lacked a high level of background noise cancelling that I have come to expect with anything over the $100 price point. Overall, if you know you like this type of fit, then these are fine, otherwise they may not be comfortable for long term wear.

Great sound but that’s all.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first set of Astro headsets and I’m not impressed. The sound quality is great, in sport, FPS games. The preset EQs each one will fit a different type of game. The mic is pretty good everyone said I sounded clear. However the mic monitoring is wide open. People can hear my dryer 20’ away going they can hear my fan, they heard my doorbell 12’ away. Comfort is fine for a couple hours. After about 3hrs of gaming they start to hurt my head. When you turn your head you hear the plastic rubbing against itself and the mic picks it up. Overall for me not impressed and actually disappointed in them. They will not connect to Astro Command Center even though Astro says they will. They will become a backup headset.

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Headset was great in quality. But from a small distance, headset audio would cut out randoomly. For it being a new headaet it shouldnt be cutting out as much as it did for me. Also for the price it is at it shouldnt be giving that problem.

Mediocre headset for the price. Go better.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This headset is just ok. The buttons are kinda placed weirdly. The sound is just mediocre. The scroll wheel for volume gets stuck if you don’t move it perfectly giving you a radiating constant tone in your ear. Hooking up to PC was an issue, the dongle does not just let you press the button to switch. It lets the device using it choose and because I used on ps5 first it wouldn’t revert to pc mode when I tried it on pc. I had to reset dongle.

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Decent set of headphones BUT the price is high for what you get. Disappointed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a headset junky. I owned at least 20 sets for the Xbox one and ps4, but somehow never picked up an Astro set. Thought I’d give them a shot for the ps5 and am incredibly disappointed. They are super comfy, but they feel cheap and do not sound good at all. I tried all 3 presets and tried them with and without the 3D sound. Nothing seemed to really sound good to me. On top of that, the mic monitoring was horrible and not being able to adjust game/chat balance was a deal breaker for me. I’d recommend the arctis 7p, or just holding out for something else to come out that works better.

Decent Headset
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The headset does the job, but the fit is a bit snugger than I'd like. The padding helps, but it feels a set of ATF earmuffs. It holds a decent charge. Volume is good, but for the price it would have been better with some sort of equalizer nob/switch.
