Don't buy, garbage and poor customer service!

Garbage, runs crappy looks good that's about it. And when I went to go return this it never got returned because of the run around I got with 2 different reps. Really surprised on both Bestbuy and Asus very disappointed and wish I would have pushed the issue way more to return this overpriced junk. Don't buy this the money is a waste! The display is also terrible too!! I have had it put away because I get so upset and annoyed at the whole product, situation with best buy and the poor quality.

Poor battery life before stopping to charge

Battery life is 3 hours before user has to go off line, plug the laptop into a power source to charge the battery for another 3 hours of use. For a writer, this can be disastrous as the user could lose their flow in their writing. This user was told when asking about this process that the batteries were bad. This laptop was returned and an Acer was ordered which was what I wanted to begin with.

We certainly understand your concern regarding the short battery charged life.
The battery life is approximately 10 hours of light to medium workload. In order to improve or prolong the battery charged time, please try to do a battery calibration manually. To start with, please drain it completely then charge it fully without using the system. Once fully-charged, please use the system, without the AC adapter connected, and drain it completely again. Please repeat the charging process thereafter. Also, please verify if the unit is running with the most current system update and third-party battery draining applications are not running if not in used.

Disappointing

Unfortunately it died after 4 months. Cannot send it back to the manufacturer since I'm not able to remove my personal documents from the unit. Very disappointing.

Usually, the following can be performed if the Chromebook will not power on or boot up.
Please verify if the AC adapter is properly connected from the Chromebook to a known good, working surge protector or AC outlet. Try to connect it to another known good power source.
If running it with battery only, please make sure the battery has an ample amount of charge.
If this was tried to no avail, please try to disconnect the AC adapter and let the unit drain for 24 hours to clear the memory and reset the hardware to default settings.
After doing this, please reconnect your AC adapter, do not power on the Chromebook until the battery was charged.
All personal documents or files are automatically synch to your Google or Gmail account. These cannot be accessed without your Gmail password.
We recommend sending the product in for service if the steps above didn't resolve the power on issue.

It is only a Chromebook

I am glad that I do not use the device as it was for my mother-in-law to keep her from installing stuff! It is only a Samsung device.

The Chromebook is more than a web browser. It comes with a web or cloud base OS that is fast, secured and easy to use and is becoming a popular choice of students because of these features. Besides, it is low-cost and lightweight, and supports thousands of popular computing applications, both in Chrome and Android, and Linux applications as well. Since it is a web base OS it does require a Google or Gmail account and an internet connection in order to use or operate it properly. If this is your first experience with a Chromebook, I recommend using the HELP file incorporated within the OS. To access HELP, please click your profile picture on the Notification Bar, located on the lower right-hand corner of the Home screen then click the question mark icon or widget. disappointed

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.the laptop was a christmas gift for my adult son...it was defective...he took it back to best buy in columbia, sc and was informed that he needed to pay more for them to replace what i had just purchased...that is NOT something a disabled old lady on a fixed income wants to hear...especially since i had just purchased a laptop from bb for myself several months ago...supposedly, they finally agreed on a replacement that will arrive on 1/20...we'll see...just in case, i have alerted my credit card company...

All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control testing and inspections, this is a random problem. Normally, ASUS provides one year warranty coverage, if product was purchased brand-new, in order to fix or repair any hardware or, part that stop working prematurely under normal usage.

Do not get this chromebook
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Order this Chromebook online, picked up in the store and as soon I got home I opened and the touch screen wasn't working. I call bestbuy to see if there were something on the settings that I was missing but not it just did not work

The Chromebook being sold at Best Buy doesn't come with a touchscreen and was not advertised having this feature.
