Big things come in big packages
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Chromebook is everything I was looking for. I don't need much in the way of performance or storage. I run an eBay store. What I need is to be able to see the details in the photos I am posting for my listings and to not feel like I'm using a toy. This 17.3 in screen is amazing.

Big screen with good value and performance
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This ASUS Chromebook strikes a good balance between affordability and quality. I have owned many ASUS products over the years and this one has the same solid build quality I have experienced using their products in the past. I have been mostly using the Chromebook for web surfing, watching videos, viewing/organizing Google photos, video chats w/ Facebook Messenger, and document editing. Chrome OS on this machine has been smooth and I really enjoy the value/integration of Google apps (yearly fees for many Microsoft apps really add to the cost of ownership of a Windows based computer). Pros - Large bright 17” 1080p HD screen - Full size keyboard with number pad - Loud clear speakers (not much bass) - Large multi-gesture track pad (allows you to use 2-fingers to pinch-to-zoom and scroll) - Useful shortcut keys (these replace the windows function keys) for screen capture, volume, screen brightness, browser back/refresh, multitasking windows, and full screen. Not every Chromebook keyboard layout has the screen capture key, but this is a very useful feature and is a lot more powerful than the old windows “print screen” button. - Great battery life (especially with such a large screen). I have been able to get very close to the 10-hrs of battery noted in the specs with mixed use (videos, chat, web browsing). - Good performance. I was able to use multiple Chrome (browser) windows with Youtube videos running on a second screen with no issues. - Built-in ChromeOS printer utility worked for wireless printing with my Brother Color Laser Printer and my HP Multi-function (see my note below). - Quickly paired with my generic Bluetooth mouse. - Supports a second display via USB-C to HDMI adapter (inexpensive, but purchased separately). - Headphone jack, SD card slot (expandable storage), and a set of USB ports (A & C) on both sides. Things to Consider - Chrome OS really manages resources well, but the Intel Celeron processor, 4GB RAM, and 64GB of storage (eMMC is slower than NVME/SSD storage) in the Chromebook are the minimum I would recommend, which could limit performance with future apps and upgrades. - Chrome OS app support in the Play Store is limited compared to Android phones. Chrome OS does have a window that allows some mobile apps to run in a simulated Android tablet/phone view. Example: Facebook Messenger worked in a mobile window, but the HP Smart printer app does not support Chrome OS (I was able to get the Chrome OS native printer utility to work, but I wish I could use the wireless scanning feature of the HP Smart app). A positive is that all the normal Google apps work great, are mostly free, and work really well with Google Drive for sharing. - Due to the large screen and 5lbs of weight, this Chromebook is a little less portable/lap friendly that some other options. - No keyboard back light.

Exceptional Performance and Design⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) After months of researching and testing different laptops, I finally decided to go with the ASUS CHROMEBOOK, and I couldn't be happier with my choice. This laptop has truly exceeded my expectations, and I’m excited to share why I believe it’s one of the best options on the market today. 1. Sleek, Premium Design Right out of the box, the ASUS CHROMEBOOK impresses with its stunning design. The slim profile and lightweight build make it incredibly portable and perfect for both work and play. The brushed metal finish gives it a premium look and feel, while still remaining durable and sturdy. I appreciate how ASUS has managed to strike the perfect balance between style and functionality. 2. Powerful Performance What really sets this laptop apart is its performance. Powered by the latest Intel processor, it handles everything I throw at it with ease. From multitasking between several applications to running demanding software for work and entertainment, the CHROMEBOOK doesn't slow down or stutter. The solid-state drive (SSD) also makes booting up and loading apps lightning-fast, which is a huge time-saver. Whether I’m working on spreadsheets, streaming videos, or gaming casually, the ASUS laptop delivers a seamless experience without any lag or stutter. The graphics (especially if you opt for a dedicated GPU) are impressive too, making it a great choice for casual gaming or content creation. 3. Impressive Display and Sound The ASUS CHROMEBOOK boasts a beautiful [insert screen size, 17.3 HD LOVE] Full HD display with vibrant colors and crisp clarity. Whether I’m watching movies or editing photos, the visuals are absolutely stunning. The narrow bezels give it a modern, edge-to-edge screen that really enhances the viewing experience. The sound quality is another pleasant surprise. The speakers provide clear, balanced sound with decent bass, so I can enjoy music, videos, and virtual meetings without needing external speakers or headphones. 4. Comfortable Keyboard and Touchpad I have to mention the keyboard—it's incredibly comfortable to type on. The keys have a nice amount of travel, which makes typing long documents or emails feel effortless. The backlighting is also a nice touch, especially when working in low-light environments. The touchpad is responsive and smooth, and I never experience any issues with gestures or accuracy. 5. Long-Lasting Battery Life Battery life on the ASUS CHROMEBOOK is outstanding! I can easily get through a full day of work or entertainment without needing to plug it in. Whether I’m on a long flight or just moving around the house, it’s reassuring to know that I don’t have to worry about charging every few hours. 6. Great Value for Money Considering the specs, design, and overall performance, the ASUS CHROMEBOOK offers excellent value for the price. There are a lot of laptops in this price range, but very few can offer the same combination of power, design, and usability that this one does. It’s a fantastic investment for anyone looking for a reliable, high-performing laptop without breaking the bank. Final Thoughts This chromebook has truly impressed me in every way. Whether you’re a student, professional, or casual user, this laptop offers incredible value for the price. With its stunning design, powerful performance, and long battery life, I can confidently say that this is one of the best laptops I’ve ever used. If you’re in the market for a new laptop, I wholeheartedly recommend the ASUS Chromebook. It has everything you need to stay productive, entertained, and connected—without compromise.

Chromebooks are getting bigger and better
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Asus 17.3 Chromebook is a great value for the price. It is a well-rounded laptop that is perfect for anyone who is looking for a device that can handle basic tasks such as schoolwork, watching movies, and surfing the web. It is not ideal for anything graphic intensive, but it will play a variety of less intensive games. Design and Build Quality The Asus 17.3 Chromebook has a simple and elegant design. It is made of plastic, but it feels sturdy and well-built for its size. The laptop is 17.3 inches, which makes it a good choice for people who want a large screen. The laptop is also relatively thin and light, making it easy to carry around. Keyboard and trackpad The keyboard on the Asus 17.3 Chromebook is basic but adequate. The keys are well-spaced and have a decent amount of travel. The trackpad is also large and responsive. I did however feel like the keyboard was a little slippery and could be more accurate. Display The display on the Asus 17.3 Chromebook is a 1080p panel. The display is bright and clear, and it has good viewing angles. The colors are also accurate, making it a good choice for watching movies or playing games. The video quality is adequate for its price range. Performance The Asus 17.3 Chromebook is powered by an Intel Celeron N4500 processor and 4GB of RAM. This configuration is enough to handle basic tasks such as web browsing, document editing, and streaming video. However, it may struggle with more demanding tasks such as gaming or video editing. Battery life The Asus 17.3 Chromebook has a long battery life. I was able to get over 15 hours of use on a single charge. This is great for people who are always on the go. I also noticed that it doesn't get too warm on my lap, even after hours of use. Ports and connectivity The Asus 17.3 Chromebook has a good selection of ports and connectivity options. It has two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, two USB 3.2 Type-C ports for charging, connecting devices, or even an external monitor, an SD card reader to transfer files or even add more storage space, and a headphone jack. It also has Bluetooth and Wi-Fi 6.0 connectivity. Software This device runs on Chrome OS. Chrome OS is a simple and lightweight operating system that is perfect for Chromebooks. It is easy to use and secure. It comes with a load of features if you want to customize your setup and OS. Pros: Quick Boot time, a matter of seconds Extremely Long battery life Zips through productivity tasks and web browsing Large and bright display Large keyboard and trackpad Simple and secure operating system Cons: Performance may struggle with demanding tasks, struggle with Minecraft on regular settings but playable on lower settings Camera is basic but it does the job Not much storage space, but can be added with SD Card or uploaded/synced easily with online options Fingerprint magnet keyboard could be more ergonomic and comfortable Overall: The Asus 17.3 Chromebook is a great value for the price. It is a well-rounded laptop that is perfect for anyone who is looking for a device that can handle basic tasks. I would highly recommend it to students, professionals, or anyone who is looking for a laptop for web browsing, streaming, music, or productivity.

A very capable Chromebook
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Asus 17 inch Chromebook laptop with Chrome OS is a nicely built device. It feels light for 17 inches. This laptop is silver in color and has a smooth texture. This device has a dual core Intel Celeron processor, 4GB ram, 64GB storage, Wi-Fi 6, 2 USB3, 2 USBC, headphone jack and Micro SDcard. The USBC sockets also act as charging ports. The charger is 45 watts USBC meaning you can use one of your fast charging phone chargers to charge this device. I tried using a wall USBC connection and the system was smart enough to recognise it was a slow charging device. It has a large keyboard with a number pad. The keys are quiet while typing and they don’t get stuck. I was surprised they are not backlit which will make it hard to type in the dark. It has stereo down firing speakers but they are not too loud and has no base. Setting it up was super easy, it took literally 10 min or so and that included syncing all my apps. Just turn on the device, connect it to Wi-fi, sign in with google account and that’s pretty much it. The screen is 1080p. It is bright, it has good color reproduction and is not super glossy. The display is not touch enabled. The front facing camera is 720p. The camera is fine for video calling but other than that don’t expect high quality videos or photos. The photo looks clear but kind of granny same goes for the videos. For Android users, using this device will feel very similar to the phones. And when you sign in using your Google account everything syncs. For new users this should not be hard to get used to, especially if you have used Windows Os because it works in very similar ways. The touchpad has a regular size as any other laptop. It is very smooth, responsive and it supports multi finger and gestures. You can even plug a USB mouse if you prefer using that instead of the touchpad. This Chromebook does not have HDMI or DP but you can use the USBC to connect a monitor. That being said you will need an adapter for that. Luckily I had one and I was able to try it and it works perfectly. The battery is rated at 17 hrs according to the manufacturer. That's enough to get you throughout the day. Overall this device is a great alternative laptop considering the price and the millions of apps available for Chrome Os. It has a large display perfect to watch videos, work or play games. It is light and with the multi functions USBC you can add peripherals just like a Windows laptop. In the box you get the Chromebook, and USBC Charger.

Long battery life with large screen
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.ASUS Chromebook makes typing and data entry easy with their full sized keyboard and easy access right hand numeric keypad. It does not have back lit keys which would be nice, but it does extend the battery's life. I easily paired my Bluetooth M650 mouse once it updated its software a few times. The Chromebook wakes up almost instantly just by opening the lid. Memory is meager at 64Gb, but it does have two (2) USB ports for external devices like an external hard-drive. Two (2) USB "C" ports are located near the back right and left sides for charging or external expansion. I have a docking port which adds a speaker phone and extra USB ports as well as an additional HDMI video connector. The track pad is slightly sensitive. I find I am constantly activating it with my palm. The top row of keys are for dimming or brightening the display, screen capture, toggling between open apps, mute, volume power ON/OFF as well as esc,. page up/down, home and end. All within easy reach. The display is excellent to view, sharp and crisp. Very little glare, except It does reflect objects or lights (windows) on the sides. Above it is a built in camera for video sharing. It has a white LED but not a shutter which adds a better means of privacy. The microphone is okay, but I like my docking speaking better as it doubles as a noise cancelling mic. I find it very useful for emails, document management and writing. Its WiFi is reliable and fast. The battery has easily lasted the whole day of normal use. Speaker quality is good and clear.

Very nice Chromebook
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, the ASUS 17.3” Chromebook is great for what it is. It is meant to handle what most people need a personal computer for while at home - paying bills, browsing the internet, watching YouTube, streaming services, etc.). For people who rely on heavy computing (business use, AV editing, running massive reports, etc., there are dedicated desktop, laptop and tablets meant for those uses), this will supplement, but not replace a dedicated full-fledged computer…nor is is meant for those purposes. It is a 5 star device, as a Chromebook and a 4 star device as an entry level laptop. The basic usage I’ve mentioned above is where this Chromebook shines. I really enjoyed using it and will continue for it’s very nice screen, how it runs smoothly while browsing websites, its streaming capabilities and looking through Social Media. What I’ve noticed using this laptop: Overall size It’s large and on the heavier side The benefits are a large screen and keyboard It’s thin The keyboard is excellent It’s large, has a 10-key feature and is easy to use It isn’t backlit, though That’s good for longer battery life, but may or may not effect usage in low light settings The screen is large and bright It has a good balance of clarity and viewing angles Charging/data/audio capabilities 2 - USB-C ports The included charger uses one of these ports 2 - USB-A ports 1 - Micro SD card slot 1 - 3.5mm Audio Jack
