Works with Nvidia
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I was hesitant to buy this monitor because I have an Asus 1070 Strix 08G grapics card which is NVidia and this monitor doesn't have G-Sync. I hooked the monitor up for the first time halfway expecting to be re-boxing it in a day to take it back because of screen tearing and other issues with the monitor and the GPU not playing nice with one another. I never took it back. I played GTA V at lowest of 120 FPS and never saw a screen tearing issue, also played BF1 and was hitting 120-144FPS no problem. Even some games that were capped at low framerates performed great. This monitor is the best I have ever had. It cost a little more than I wanted to spend, however it is the perfect blend for me. I was happy that it came with 3 display cables, 1 HDMI, 1 Displayport, and 1 Mini-DP to DP cable. I use it for my gaming as well as photo editing. The IPS display is crisp and amazing. The only thing I would say I don't like is the fact that it doesn't have a great brightness control. There are sometimes where I am gaming at night and the monitor is making the whole room glow. I have found where the brightness setting is on the monitor, but it is always blacked out like it is not an option I can change. I was on the fence about this monitor because of a Nvidia graphics card and how much it costs, but now I am happy I bought it and it was worth every penny.

Bananas!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This monitor is simply amazing. If you've got a Freesync capable GPU, you're gonna love it. 1440p at 60+ fps is a dream! No tearing at all, even at 90+ fps, which is the cutoff for this monitor's Freesync capabilities. At first I almost didn't buy it because of that (this monitor tops out at 144 Hz), but then I did some research and discovered that Freesync is much more noticeable at low frame rates and has extremely diminishing returns at high frame rates. I haven't noticed any tearing above 90 fps, and I'm pretty sensitive to screen tearing. As long as your GPU can keep the frame rate of your game above 35 fps, you're going to love this monitor. An IPS panel gives this monitor fantastic colors and IPS glow (which you can't ever escape from with this tech) is minimal. Certainly better than my previous Dell Ultrasharp, which was top of the line when it came out. All in all, I strongly recommend this monitor. It's a gorgeous monitor and hits all the important check boxes: 1440p, 27", Freesync, IPS.

Excellent Freesync Monitor
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use this monitor for gaming and some work (photo editing), it has been serving me pretty well so far. In my comp I'm running RX480's x2, with freesync on, games run buttery smooth. I highly recommend this monitor if you're in the market for a Freesync IPS panel. Pros: - IPS, 1440P, Freesync, 144Hz (Need I say more?!) - Has built in speakers and an audiojack - Has USB built into the monitor - Has more than enough inputs (I have two computers and a PS4 connected to my monitor.) - Excellent range of angles on the monitor stand Cons: - Freesync range is 35-90hz (but with some software mod, you can hack the monitor to shift the range higher, I'm running 60-144hz and haven't experienced any issues yet.) - There are a few light bleeding spots on the corners but that is to be expected with IPS panels. (They're not noticeable except when the screen is all black, but they don't bother me.)

Wonderful monitor
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This monitor is absolutely amazing, for the price I was skeptical about what I was getting into, but everything looks beautiful on it. It's nice for everything from watching movies, playing games, and photo editing, it's a rock solid 5 star monitor, only issue I have with this monitor is, it takes a few seconds for it to power on, but I think most people will be able to live with it.

Asus MG279Q
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After multiple reviews and comparison of other Asus, ACER, Dell 2k monitors I decided to get the Asus MG279Q. I am very happy with the purchase. Is a nice size (upgraded from a 22"), nice colors, IPS with 4ms response time. You are able to see the difference from 1080p. The other ASUS MG278Q is TN with a faster response time and up to 144hz with Free Sync but when you look at different reviews this is the one for me. You will not be disappointed if you decide to buy this monitor.

Great ASUS 27" IPS HD Monitor
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a fantastic ASUS MG279 Series Monitor. I t has excellent picture quality, and ASUS MG279 is very easy to assemble. The control Button are easy to use and out of sight on the back of the monitor. I like that the monitor because you can Pivot the monitor to what every angle you need. ASUS MG279 Series Monitor is a great deal for the money.

Wonderful Monitor
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. No dead pixels. I dont see any backlight bleed like what other people mentioned. Ample inputs. I really do like that that audio can be routed to the monitor. USB ports for my iPhone charging with passthrough even when the monitor and computer are off. I have several computers connected to the monitor and it automagically switches to whichever one has a signal -- including the audio. This allows me to have one set of speakers with multiple computers. Viewing angels are wonderful (IPS panel). It's great that it has mini display port, display port, and HDMI inputs. Freesync with my desktop while playing games (I paired it with AMD RX 480) -- wonderful wonderful colors. No annoying blinking blue light when it goes on standby (like my previous monitor). Great display options and I like using the small joystick at the back. I love this monitor! So... my verdict is: Best. Monitor. Ever! Thank you Best Buy for selling this and allowing in-store pickup!

Amazing monitor with QA issues
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a lovely monitor. Great contrast and vibrant colors. Gameplay is super smooth with the high refresh rate and freesync. The limited freesync range is a little disappointing, but not a huge issue. My main issue with this monitor is a QA issue. On certain screens I get horizontal flickering lines in the bottom half of the screen. It happens with all inputs. It's mostly noticeable on black screens and typically it doesn't happen in-game, but it seems to be getting worse and just last night I noticed it during gameplay for the first time. It's a big distraction and if it keeps getting worse it will really make me regret this purchase. Hopefully it continues to be a minor issue during gameplay.

Awesome
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this monitor being very skeptical of what I was going to get based on reviews from places like Amazon and Newegg as they talked about dead pixels and backlight bleed and excessive amounts of IPS glow. Some of these people mentioned returning the monitor 2-10 times until they finally gave up or got a good one. That said, I was excited to see people get duds online and get a good unit from a storefront. My monitor came to me spotless and very very good looking! I have some IPS glow but I've come to terms with it as it appears to just be the nature of IPS. It takes up a chunk of the bottom right corner and some in the other corners but it isn't obnoxious and only noticeable in dark scenes. Not enough to have me hyper focus on it, just notice it. Anyways, the goods about this monitor: Great quality colors from the IPS panel which is good for my photo editing. They have an sRGB mode which I hear is pretty close to full sRGB accuracy, however I might calibrate it one day. The 27" is great too and good for editing photos, gaming and really nice for programming. After having one monitor with the height adjustment I have made it a requirement to always have it for neck comfort and this has that too. Finally, the reason why I splurged this heavy chunk of change was to have a single monitor for a good color accurate panel and 144Hz. I have been using the Asus VG248QE for over a year now and have tried to get myself to like 75Hz so I could get a wide 21:9 monitor but I just can't do it, and this monitor delivers. the 2560x1440p is a good plus but man...my 970 is working hard and I definitely can't use the whole 144Hz for any demanding games, but that doesn't matter to me, still need the 144Hz for games that can do 60+ and just for plain desktop use. All in all, awesome monitor if you can get a good one. I don't see myself upgrading from this for many years to come because it is a very future proofed monitor
