The AUS ROG X13 has been a very good laptop. In my opinion, it is the only laptop that you can get that provides excellent performance, portability, and productivity. The main reason I got this laptop was for its touchscreen so that I can take notes in college, while also being able to do advanced CAD and computer science tasks. So far it has excelled in all aspects. Since my home PC tower has only a GTX1650 Ultra in it, I made a docking station so that I can use the X13's GTX3050TI (although laptop edition) instead, since it is more powerful. It can drive my 180Hz gaming monitor at around 120 fps in games such as Apex Legends using its HDMI 2.1 out port. All in all, the portability and power this tiny laptop holds is astounding. While the 3050 Ti 4G may be a little underpowered for a modern $1k laptop, this one excels in many places and more than makes up for it. Definitely recommend this product!

5/5 Great laptop if they fixed the BIOs issues

I recommend this laptop but with some caveats. I have had this laptop for a little over a year and use it as my primary gaming and productivity machine. The pros: Build quality is amazing. Performance is exceptional for the size. Screen is bright and pixel perfect. Tent mode. Asus customization software. Being able to disable the graphics card means getting an extra few hours away from the wall or silent fans when you want it. Cons: Will run out of battery if playing power hungry games even while pugged in. Tested with Far Cry 5. Loud fans (buy some headphones) Asus bios and driver issues. I took 2 stars off just for the bios issues. Three times in the last year that I've owned this machine all the USBs stopped working and the laptop wouldn't charge. I found out all I needed to do was reset the BIOs, but not everyone is going to know or want to do that. Before I found out about the BIOs issue I just assumed my laptop was dead.

I have owned this laptop for two months now. I got a great deal around Black Friday. It has a lot of power for the form factor. I can run Stable Diffusion on it and get decent performance once optimized for the 4gb graphics card (haven't tried it with the optional external GPU). However, it gets hot and fans are noticeable even when in balanced mode. Unfortunately, it has a couple of driver issues updates haven't resolved yet. For one, it rarely wakes from sleep mode. I disabled sleep mode and use hibernate instead, which has resolved this issue for me, but if you have a strong preference for sleep mode, consider another model. I've also noticed that if I leave my external monitor plugged into the HDMI port when I restart the laptop, it breaks the brightness settings, as in the brightness controls no longer work from the function keys or the display settings. I have to unplug the HDMI cable, reboot, and then plug the monitor back in once the laptop has finished rebooting, then the brightness controls work. I almost returned it, but decided that, for the deal I got, I could live with the hibernation mode and unplug the monitor when I occasionally reboot. This form factor and weight is perfect for tossing in my backpack and yet has enough power to handle my needs as a hobbyist artist, designer, and music producer on-the-go. But it isn't perfect, so keep that in mind.

I really wanted to love this laptop. Ryzen 6000 series performance (with amazing integrated RDNA2) and a modest GPU for when you need the extra power. All in a 13" package. I'd say it's unrivaled by any other model in its form factor + price class. Unfortunately, this is the most buggy laptop I've ever owned, and I've used over a dozen during my career. There have been 5 'deal-breaker' issues for me that make me wish I chose something different: -SLEEP ISSUE: Until 9/27/22 with the release of Bios 323, sleep was unusable. The laptop wouldn't be able to wake, requiring you to hard reboot. I know Windows modern standby sucks and I tend to use hibernate anyways, but it's really not acceptable. This is a commonly reported issue across forums for this specific laptop. -HARDWARE GPU CRASHES: During video playback, the graphics glitch out to black, or to pink boxes. It lasts several seconds until the display driver reboots. Sometimes the screen stays artifacted and the fans ramp to 100% until you hard reboot. Commonly happens when playing AV1 codec on any browser (Firefox, Chromium), and programs like VLC. This is a commonly reported issue across forums for this entire series of processor (Ryzen 6xxx, across multiple brands). This is one of my biggest issues with this laptop, it happens around once an hour if you're watching videos. -KEYBOARD LAG: Every once in a while after keyboard inactivity, there's a short period when you resume typing and the keystrokes aren't registered. It requires a full system restart to fix, and it occurs several times a day. This is a commonly reported issue across forums for this specific laptop. It seems to be driver related (ForteMedia, Bluetooth, AMD Chipset) and reappeared for me after Windows 2H22 update. -AUDIO CRACKLING: When running the laptop in the 'Silent' battery power profile, the audio crackles - on speakers, wired headphones, or bluetooth. Setting the laptop to 'Performance' power profile gets rid of the crackling. This is a commonly reported issue across forums for all ASUS ROG laptops. -WARRANTY: I checked with ASUS Support to do some troubleshooting and potentially get these issues fixed under warranty. Unfortunately I found out that because I bought this laptop via Best Buy, all RMA processes are through GeekSquad. If these are truly hardware or driver issues, I know that GeekSquad won't be able to troubleshoot anything and the turnaround time will be several months, at minimum. The amount of time I'll be without a laptop makes it very difficult to send in. Outside of these experiences, some general thoughts on the laptop: -Solid form factor & good build quality. Performance is fantastic. Thermals are manageable, even under load, for its size. -Keyboard (other than typing lag) and track pad feel good. Keyboard is NOT legible unless the backlight is on. -ASUS' choice to only allow full charging speed with the original OEM charger is awful. I have plenty of other high quality 100w chargers from other brands, but they're locked to 65w charging. Even the ASUS-branded dock with 100w PD does not charge at full speed on this laptop. Because of this, I have to carry the ASUS charging brick wherever I go. -Be sure you're aware of the panel performance on this laptop; it has significant ghosting and slow response times. Not an issue for me.

Had an issue with Steam overloading the integrated graphics causing a pink screen crash, but solved by disabling GPU accelerated rendering in the Interface settings of Steam. Steam didn't automatically use the dedicated card for web views, but this solves that issue. Heats up pretty quickly, although normal for gaming laptops apparently. A bit of buffer lag when I connect the charger when on low battery, but otherwise played Battlefront and No Man's Sky fine on high graphics.

This laptop is on par with my tower pc, slim design packed with a ton of power super mobile too. Any AAA game i threw at it it performed with the charger plugged in of course. If you travel for work a lot or even need a powerful rig for 3D modeling this laptop wont let you down.

I got this laptop on an open box deal. Great laptop for the price. I’m a video producer and ocasional gamer, and this checks all the boxes with performance and ease of use. I also purchased a compatible pen and it has been really fun to use on tablet mode. Something to take in consideration, this laptop can also be upgraded with the optional XG mobile for a monumental boost in performance.

Okay, so I just bought this thing abt 2 days ago and I can say that it’s what I expected. The screen is bright and the 500 nits are an upgrade from the 2021 model. However, there are a couple issues with it. 1) The updates for everything suck. Honestly this was the worst cuz I was trying to update armoury crate as well as aura creator and my game drivers for the rtx3050 but it constantly freezes at 99% done and then never actually installs it. This is a serious problem I’m having and it’s annoying to say the least. 2) Battery life is okay. Expect 6-8 hours of real usage before having to plug in. I get that it’s running a heavy graphics card and the new 6900 cpu helps preserve battery life but still nothing compared to a MacBook. 3) this is my second unit. I’m sure you’ve heard of the other reviews where people had to get replacements or seconds because their first laptop or product was defective or malfunctioning. My first laptop got lost in the mail (thanks fedex) and this second one refuses to update anything properly. TL:DR if you want a 13.4 inch smooth laptop this might be it if you don’t run into any of the problems I listed above. Expect a Mid tier laptop. It’s what people call the Jack of all trades.

I was critical of buying a "gaming laptop" and those concerns are still there. I've already had a warning playing Diablo 4 that I've ran out of memory (16 isn't enough), and all I had running was the game with Discord open. I haven't had any issues with editing my GoPro footage.

It’s a great little laptop for my needs. Video editing is’nt great I use it as a work horse for transcoding and basic apps. I was told it would do good with my editing needs. I will have to definitely buy something better I would of given it less stars but it’s a great laptop just not really what I needed.

No doubt this is the most powerful 13.3 laptop on the market. Bought it to replace my aged Razer blade 15 2018. Few things to mention, the quality control might not be perfect. This is my second unit. The touchpad of the first one is loose so it makes clicking noise. I also got blue screen when watching videos (youtube or local files) via amd iGPU. Thought it was a driver issue, but the second unit shows no such issue right out of the box. So be sure to check these two issues after delivery. The silence mode is my favorite mode. When it is on power, the CPU temp is around 58C when just browsing websites. The fan noise is barely noticeable. When it is on battery, it is dead quiet. CPU temp is around 45C. Gaming is capable. With little OC for GPU, I can get 5200 for 3Dmark Time Spy. The screen is bright and contrasty. Very impressed with the vivid colors. My biggest complain is no SD card reader. Very inconvenient to transfer photos and videos from my camera. Both USB C can supply full power while charging. Just one minor issue, the CUP will be throttled to 800 NHZ when the charging level is under 40%. The simple solution is put the computer to Silence mode which magically unlocks the CPU speed. It is definitely a driver related issue. Hope ASUS will look into that. It is not big deal for most users I guess since only taking 15 mins charging to 40%. Overall, it is a great product. Just buy it! I have no regret after one month of use.

Bought the laptop for school because I wanted something small that could also work for some casual gaming. The build quality is really good I don’t get worried tossing it in my backpack. During normal everyday use the fans never run, but when gaming “I only really do some casual gaming” they can get a little loud but that is to be expected with a 13 inch laptop. Battery life is also good had it around half brightness with 10 tabs going with YouTube in the background and it lasted about 8 hours.
