Customers enjoy the excellent performance and powerful components of the ROG Gaming Desktop, particularly praising the GPU and RAM. Many appreciate the reasonable price point, but some users mention that the cooling system could be improved and that the included keyboard and mouse are basic. The power supply's capacity is also a concern for some buyers. While the case's design is noted, some find it difficult to upgrade.

For the components you’re getting in this purchase it is WELL worth your money. My experience was great. Although one thing to be aware of. You’ll want to upgrade the PSU. However this is not of immediate concern out the box. This machine will run and do Everything you want it to. However, for future proofing the machine I recommend it. I went with thermal take and I wasn’t disappointed with that choice. Just be sure that the PSU is ATX compatible. This machine has not disappointed me. It DOES get hot, so please keep this pc out of enclosed spaces, and give it ample room to breathe, and if possible keep it in a cool area.

I got this computer on the 31st and i have enjoyed it greatly. I picked it up when it was on sale for 1199 dollars and i have had 0 problems with it. absolute steal for the specs its comes with and was worth the price. i have read the reviews prior to buying it and the only problem i have seen that people shared in common was the fan being loud, which i have heard the fan blow a bit hard but not as often as i thought it would. overall 10/10 computer

Ive owned this PC for exactly 7 months now. Frankly ? No real problems. The fan can get loud at times(like when booting up certain games) but it always subsides. The cooling could be better but ive never reached very high high temp counts on neither my GPU or CPU. GPU runs way coller than CPU. Overall I recommend. Got it for $200 off which made it way more inticing. In the world of prebuilts, id def say after ASUS made some adjustments that this is a fairly good choice for a pre built.

    Good internals but poor case

The GT15CF is an update to the GT15CE line, which was known for having good internal components for a fair price and the same can be said here. The internal components of this machine are rock solid and you’ll be playing 4k games with Ray Tracing on without issue. However, the CE line was also known for having a case that thermal throttled the components inside and it appears that Asus did not take notes from their mistake. The CF uses the same case as the CE, which is sturdy, has pretty but not annoying RGB lights, and a nice carrying handle on top should you need to move it around. However, the case also only has one small 85mm fan on the back side, trying to pull air forward. This alone would be unusual as most other cases pull air from the front to the back where generally more fresh air is available. The spot where Asus did not learn their lesson is leaving only one case fan in. It would have been inexpensive to place a second or third 120mm fan in the front to improve air flow and there are already mounting holes to do so. If you look at reviews on the CE model, you’ll see that most people do this as an aftermarket fix. I just wish Asus would have done it from the start. Pulling the front panel off is nerve racking as the tabs don’t always want to give and you have to deal with the wires for the RGB. If you break those, say good bye to your shinny lights. I also would have liked to see dust filters where fans can be placed, but I suspect Asus was trying to keep as much flow open as possible in hopes that the 85mm fan would be enough. Once we get past the case, the internals are solid. We have an Intel 12700F with a stock cooler and what appears to be a trimmed down Gaming B660M-Plus WiFi D4 motherboard. I can’t 100% confirm the motherboard as there is still no English user manual for the CF, but photos match up for both with the except that the CF board appears to be missing some connection headers. Sadly, one of these connections is the USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-C connector which would be used on the front of the case for either another Type-C connection or for installing an add-in case accessory like a SD card reader. Instead, the other USB 3.2 Gen1 header appears to be playing double duty for the front case IO. The chip and board are paired with two 8GB ram sticks from Hynix. While not being tightest timings on the market, they still get the job done. One thing I could not get them to do was turn on XMP. I’m not sure if this is a limitation of the F series processor or if Asus just needs to push a firmware update to enable this. They did run at 3200 out of the box and they kept up with games such as Cyberpunk 2077 and Forza Horizon 5. For storage, we have a Micron 3400 boot drive which pushed some good read speeds in CrystalDiskMark and a rather lack luster 1TB Toshiba 7200rpm hard drive. Besides the second M.2 slot, there really aren’t any good places to mount additional drives that I could find, so if you want a bigger game library, I would suggest replacing the 1TB drive with something larger right away. The GTX3060 is the work horse of this system. While it may be the entry level for the 3000 series, it does a decent job in 4k environments. This is the single fan version which allows plenty of room in the case and the card also has an attached support bracket which not only helps keep it in place during shipping, but also as you use the machine. Unfortunately, with all these good to high end components, the case gets hot. Installing games had the CPU constantly at 80C or higher and I found that the CPU constantly thermal throttled in AAA games. Impressively the system still handled the games even throttled, but I worry about the long-term ramifications of running the CPU so hot all of the time. All in all, if this is what you can afford, you will not be disappointed. If you can budget the $10-$20 for extra case fans when you purchase the unit, I would suggest doing so. You’ll save yourself a lot of headaches down the road. If you’ve got an extra $60, you may even want to re-case the components in a better air flow chassis. But that is the beauty of this system. You get what you need at a reasonable price and you have plenty of options to improve the setup as your budget allows.

Bottom line: If you are a gamer looking for a prebuilt with these specs and can deal with fan noise then this is definitely worth considering. If you are a gamer who likes the specs but would like to enhance the cooling or add an additional HD/SSD drive be prepared to be creative to overcome the limitations that are inherent to this build. Asus makes some of the best laptops and computer components available today but when it comes to this prebuilt Asus G15 there are some big limitations. My biggest complaints are with the amount of fan noise, limited cooling in the chassis and lack of bios control. There are plenty of ventilation holes in the front and top of the chassis but they only included a small 92cm rear exhaust fan. When gaming the system can really generate some heat which then triggers both the cpu and case fan to run all out which can be quite distracting. In this pre-built Asus does not allow you to manage the fans using Armory Crate or Bios so you are stuck with what they have configured. The chassis does have a single 120mm mount on the front grill work so you can add an additional fan to help with the cooling. Because Asus keeps some of the bios locked you cannot enable XMP. In Asus defense these prebuilt machines are not meant to be upgraded or overclocked and I am sure the stock cpu cooler and rear fan meet the minimum cooling requirements. On paper this Asus prebuilt gaming machine has a lot of potential because it has a 500 gb NVMe SSD, NVIDIA RTX 3060 video card, Intel’s i7 12700F CPU, 2x8 gb of dual channel 3200 ddr4 ram, 1 tb Toshiba 7200 rpm hard drive, WiFi 6 and Bluetooth support as well as some nice built in RGB lighting. When you are looking in this price range for a prebuilt gaming desktop its hard to find one with better components. Here are the things that you need to know. - The chassis has front and top ventilation holes but there is only a 92mm rear chassis fan. The stock cpu cooler fan and the chassis fan are very noisy when running full speed which happens often due to the temperatures when gaming. There are mounting holes on the front grill where you can add a 120mm fan. - It is possible to replace the stock cpu cooler with a Noctura NH-D12L low height air cooler or any liquid cooler with a radiator that could mount to the 120mm mounting holes on the front grill. - The ddr4 ram that is installed is 3200 mhz and runs on 1.2v. In the bios there is an option to change the ram voltage but it seems to be locked at 1.2v. There is also an option for XMP 2.0 but it cannot be Enabled. - The included hard drive is a Toshiba 1 tb drive which isn’t enough space for my games and videos. Sadly, there is not a second drive bay even though there are plenty of Sata connectors on the motherboard and room in the case for a second bay. - There are two M2 NVMe PCIe slots, the first M2 slot is used for the 500gb drive and it has a nice thermal heat shield. The second slot is below the GPU card and it has the mounting hardware installed on the board. I installed a Samsung 970 EVO Plus and it works fine. - There are two USB-C ports and lots of USB-A ports. - The Chassis RGB lighting scheme both on the front of the desktop as well as the inside LED strips were great looking and easy to control with Asus’s software. - The power supply is only a 500w Gold plus made by Great Wall. This has to be close to being maxed out per some of the on-line power supply calculators. - The enclosed mouse and keyboard are bare minimum so expect to replace them. Performance: I spent the better part of a day running this desktop through benchmark testing to see how well it would perform and how well the temperature of the motherboard, GPU and CPU would be maintained with the small chassis fan and stock Intel cpu fan. While performing all these test I used the TURBO setting in Armory Crate – this is the ASUS recommended setting for gaming. Using the 3DMARK stress test the GPU ran at 100% utilization and the temps of the GPU and CPU averaged around 75 to 80 degrees Celsius. Throughout all the other test as well as when playing video intense games I would check the CPU temp and it again stayed in that range. When gaming I was using a 2560 x 1440 QHD monitor with G-sync enabled and running at 165 hz refresh rate. Here are some of the estimated game performance scores I got while testing with 3DMARK as well as some Geekbench5 scores. 3DMARK Graphics Score = 8687 CPU Score = 12216 Battlefield V @1080p Ultra = 105+ FPS Battlefield V @ 1440p Ultra = 85+ FPS Apex Legends@1080p Ultra = 140+ FPS Apex Legends@ 1440p Ultra = 95+ FPS GTA V @1080p Ultra = 80+ FPS GTA V @ 1440p Ultra = 55+ FPS Fortnite @1080p Ultra = 105+ FPS Fortnite @ 1440p Ultra = 70+ FPS Red Dead Redemption 2 @1080p Ultra = 40+ FPS Red Dead Redemption 2@ 1440p Ultra = 30+ FPS Geekbench5 Single Core Score = 1824 Multi Core Score = 11941 Open CL Score = 98767 Cuda Score = 100785 Vulkan Score = 71170 Setup: The setup was straight forward with no issues. I connected the monitor to the Display port and the mouse and keyboard to the rear USB ports. There is one HDMI port and three Display port connectors available if you want to connect multiple monitors. The system comes with a nice clear side panel that can be removed with two screws to access the components. The unit powered on and it went through several updates both Windows 11 and ASUS generated. The system comes with MyASUS and Armory Crate apps already installed but both needed multiple updates. Using Armory Crate you can manage the RGB lighting throughout the chassis. Setting the color schemes was simple and overall looked good with the clear side panel. The system also comes with an external antenna which is needed for Bluetooth and Wi-Fi 6 connectivity.

I would love to give this a 5 stars but theres some issues that are just too bothersome to deserve that rating. The computer itself is sleek and looks nice, it's not too big & fits perfectly on my desk. The major downsides however is, on its own and without any upgrades the PC fans are obnoxiously loud. I could have one game open and it sounds like my PC is gonna take off into space. Besides that, there's something broken I presume with my audio. Every so often my audio will skip and the only way to fix it, is to switch outputs so it stops. I don't know if theres a fix but for a PC I paid $1300 for you would expect quality. Other than that I do enjoy how much space I have and the power of the PC itself.

I am extremely pleased with the value and performance of this Asus ROG PC. Thankfully I am finally able to play AAA titles without stripping game settings down to the absolute minimum. During the pandemic I have had significantly more time to game as everyone has been stuck at home. Unfortunately, my gaming laptop simply isn’t powerful enough to run games at their native settings. Upon launching games I would receive warning messages stating that my specs weren’t up to par and performance would struggle while causing the fan to run so frantically that teammates would complain about the obnoxious fan noise that could be heard over my headset mic. PC gaming can be prohibitively expensive, so I genuinely appreciate that ASUS has an affordable rig that provides enough power without breaking the bank. For probably the first time I am playing with native settings and maintaining a solid 60 fps. Gaming at 4K brings down the frame rate, but I understand that the i7 and Ryzen RTX 3060 aren’t the absolute echelon of what is available. But, for the price I am absolutely pleased with the entire package. The cooling could be improved upon, but again - Asus has done a good job at providing strong performance for a reasonable price. I also appreciate that they have provided a case that is easy to open and allows space for upgrades. Gamers who don’t have the funds, or the knowledge / experience required to build a gaming rig can be confident that this Gaming PC is a solid starting point. It will provide the power needed to run games (such as Doom Eternal, Scavengers, and Xbox Games Pass Streaming Titles) while allowing the option of simple and easy upgrades. The plexiglass panel and the LED strip make the tower look cool. The WiFi antenna makes sure the network connection is strong anywhere in the house. There are plenty of ports on the front and back. There is a headphone hook built right onto the front of the tower. And while the keyboard and mouse leave a lot to be desired - they get the job done. Pull it out of the box and begin gaming in no time! Thanks to Asus I no longer need to struggle with modifying performance settings. I can play to my heart's content on the PC and will simply take my games with me on the go once my Steam Deck finally arrives.

I've built a lot of computers over the years and several gaming rigs. This one was meant to be a gift so I wanted something that would include a warranty and support (that wasn't me :) With what components (especially graphics cards) are going for right now the value proposition on a system like this is pretty good. It works well...all the components are nicely matched as you would expect. The case quality and design are nice with the integrated leds etc. Cooling seems adequate and cable management is good. Its playing a variety of newer games at medium framerates and graphics quality with no issues.

The ASUS GT15CF-I73060VR Gaming Desktop arrived very well packaged. Nice thick foam padding on both the top and bottom of the box and the system was wrapped in a faux-burlap style bag. Unpacking and setup were a breeze. Had the system up and running in 5 minutes. The PC comes with a stock keyboard and mouse that are usable, but will most likely be replaced fairly quickly with something better. A power cable and a couple cables... one appears to be a internal power cable for attaching devices to the PSU and the other is a dual port cable for hard drives. One thing that is included is an external antenna for the WIFI adapter that allows the user to place the antenna a few feet away from the PC if needed. The case feels well-made, and the handle on the top is nice when you need to move the PC around / get it out of the box. The RGB effects are not overdone and look really nice. The system runs really quite normally most of the time unless the CPU is under a lot of stress and the internal fans ramp up. Pretty normal for a gaming rig. The CPU is air cooled, so a bit louder than a liquid cooled setup. The inside of the PC looks really clean with good cable management. The RAM sticks are pretty stock for a gaming rig, but perform well. It comes with Windows 11 installed and the setup is very easy. About 30 minutes to run the system through the Windows update process to make sure things are all up to date. Windows 11 looks very polished compared to previous versions of Windows and runs excellent on this PC. I ran the system through several industry benchmarks and it performed really well (see attached screenshots) for 2k gaming. I did not have a 4k monitor to test with, so I can't comment on that. I have a system with the Nvidia 2080 Super with an i7 that's a couple generations older than this system, and the 3060 performed about 15% slower than the 2080 Super, so definitely quite capable at running all the current games at smooth framerates. I used Fortnite as a test and in 2k with all settings set to ultimate it was pushing 130+ FPS. Smooth as silk! I tested out the ray tracing with all settings at max in 2k and it performed well at 40-55 fps. Not as fast with the ray tracing, but definitely capable of a smooth gaming experience. The fans stayed quite through both tests. The 12th Gen Intel Core i7-12700F CPU is lighning fast and performed very well in the CPU benchmark tests I performed. Significantly faster than my i7 9700 system from a couple years ago. The included 16 GB of ram is a sweet spot and will handle pretty much any task you throw at it except if you're working with extremely large video or image files. SSD performance was quite good and well above average with the SSD benchmarks I tested with. It would've been nice if ASUS included a 1TB SSD in this price range, but having the 1TB HDD combination will allow you to put your most used games on the SSD and the rest can go on the 1TB HDD. The system has plenty of ports for attaching peripherals. The top has a USB-C, USB 3, and a mic and headphone jack. The back has several high speed USB slots, a high speed LAN port, another USB-C and wireless antenna ports, and an assortment of audio ports. The 3060 has 1 HDMI and 3 Display Port ports. This gaming system has enough power and capabilities to satisfy the majority of gamers. It'll handle any day to day tasks with ease and run any modern game you throw at it with smooth framerates. I'm giving it 4 out of 5 stars only because the SSD is a 512 GB instead of a 1TB SSD.

Initially when I first got the unit would shut down when I ran several high end graphic intensive games at maximum settings but later I updated the bios and no issues since. I found when I stressed the cpu or both the cpu/graphic card that the temperature would rise to upper 160-176 but never higher (the graphics card was about 10-15 degrees cooler even when fully stressed). The cooling fans did there job, yes a bit loud but not too obtrusive, actually quite reasonable given how much I stressed the system. Expansion is limited to one free pci slot but not usable given the size of the graphics card. Memory is 16 gbs in two 8gb sticks of DDR4 with CAS of about 20 which is very acceptable because DDR4 have much higher clock speeds. I believe the SSD is hidden or I could not locate it. The two side panels are both removable but you do need a Phillips screwdriver for removal of the two screws per panel. The cabling is neat and great for optimum airflow. The power supply is rated 80 gold at 500watts, no issues on that end. The entire bottom of the case has a metal box that shields the pier supply from view, viewable a bit when you remove the back panel. I do not see any room for another hard drive, the included hard drive is 1TB with a 500GB SSD. The graphics card is Nvidia gtx3060 with 12GB of DDR6 and the cpu is a fairly powerful I7-12700F which I believe is overclockable. I found many tweak options from fan speed, timings and so on in the bios setup…did not try any…maybe another time. As a gaming machine, no issues, no downgrade of gaming settings due to heat. Games played smoothly, clarity was off the chart, frame rates were in excess of 250 and will vary based on settings but again no issues. At the current price point it is a very middle range gaming system and above and really is a pleasure to use. The top has a powerful sturdy handle to make transporting easy and the front also has a nice sturdy headphone hook. The rear has the normal complement of USB, speaker, Ethernet, wifi antenna attachment points, graphic output ports. A really stunner and keeper,
