Excellent laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is very fast, has a comfortable keyboard, a long battery life, and excellent graphics. It was a pleasure to have and the second ASUS laptop I have owned. This specific model came with a relatively large adapter. On three keys, the enamel eroded (happened on the previous ASUS I had) and the hinges need to be tightened after several months of use. ASUS applied small screws on the bottom case, I think pentalobe, which are easily stripped, and which make it difficult to open up and fix on my own as accustomed to doing. It is a fragile laptop. I tried to open it up to tighten the hinges which caused an issue with the mouse cursor which I hope to resolve - ordered an electric screwdriver. I had to purchase a new laptop as a result (Samsung).

Great Performance for Casual PC
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this back in 2021 and I've loved it. Good battery life. Love the touchscreen and tablet mode. I did have a couple screws that were holding the screen onto the keyboard/body come loose on one side and after opening it up I see how its possible that can happen over time, but I just tightened them back up it's an easy fix. Sad thing is the ram isn't doing it for me anymore and I didn't know when I purchased that the ram is not upgradable! Great for a casual user. If you use chrome or edge and want to be able to multitask with a video game or other relatively high memory consuming app then forget about it. Get something newer or something you can upgrade the parts in.

Strong built with great hardware
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First impressions: ____________ When I opened the box first thing I notice was nice darkish color (charcoal I think) with clear silver ASUS logo. Once I took computer our I got surprised realizing that is made of beautiful aluminum housing with silver lining all around, including silver hinges. This 2 in 1 computer seem to be strongly built and I think is great for those who travel, or students and IT Field technicians. While some might disagree I think it’s perfect size and perfect weight too, at least for me. Solid quality built with great design and materials, for sure. Connections/Ports: ____________ This computer has one HDMI port, two USB type C ports (which can be used for video as well - with adapters), one USB 3.0, microphone jack input and SD card reader slot. Hardware: ____________ This computer has great selection of hardware which some of are: • Intel I7-1165G7 Processor – 11th generation 4 cores/8 threads Intel processor with true learning intelligence that learns and adapts to your needs • 16GB RAM – Will make your multitasking easy and switching between applications fast and smooth • 512GB PCIe SSD with Intel Optane+ - Will improve even more your boot time and accelerate system performance • NVIDIA GeForce GTX1650 MAX-Q graphics + Intel Iris Xe – deliver great clean graphics in high video resolution • Web Cam – That work great with Windows Hello technology and does great at web meetings • 15.6” Touch screen display – 1920x1080 Full HD LED backlight. Display with Pantone-Validated & Eye comfort testing by TÜV Rheinland. • WiFi 6 AX – Will delivered greater speeds and better connectivity Summary: ____________ Thanks to SSD drive this device has very fast startup. After startup I must mention Windows Hello biometric login which makes everything safer, quicker and easier. Chicklet style backlit keyboard seems to be very pleasant and very quiet and in combination with fairly large mousepad and 15,6” touch screen (1080p) it definitely can make your work more pleasant and efficient. In addition to fairly large 15.6” display you can connect additional monitors either by full size HDMI port or by using USB type C port and adapter and either way they are preforming great. I have tested mine in 2K resolution (2560x1440) and monitor worked flawless but I have no doubt that it can do 4K as well. In times when almost everyone does remote work or school it’s important to say that it has integrated web camera (720p, 30fps, HDR and digital video stabilization), integrated noise-canceling microphone and great Herman/Kardon speakers which are delivery great sound regardless do you attend a web meeting, watch a movie, play music or something else. When it comes to storage 512GB it’s not really plenty but I would always trade quantity for quality and with that in mind this 512GB SSD is great package deal. This computer has Alexa built in which in addition to existing Cortana and both of them could be very helpful during the busy days, from finding and open files to playing your favorite music, reorder supply’s from Amazon or even controlling your home devices without interrupting of your work tasks. Computer seems to be incredibly quiet even when the fan is working and I believe that adding cooling vents to 3 sizes plus bottom of the computer was great idea. I must mention Windows Inc which is really helpful especially in tablet mode and lets you mark your presentation, write on items or sign documents. Thanks to its hardware this computer is blazing fast and handles any task without any issues. Battery last for 5 hours while I used computer for browsing, research and listened some music. I must add this ASUS computer comes up with DropBox promotional deal of 25GB storage for 1 year – free. Pros: ____________ Metal housing 2 in 1 computer / tablet Intel I7 high end CPU Learning & adaptive processor SSD drive Screen resolution Touch screen Display technology USB Type C ports which can be used as display ports WiFi 6 Chicklet style backlit keyboard Cons: __________ None really

Full-Time Student Casual Gamer
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop moves so quickly and is able to not just open complex macro enabled spreadsheets but also I can play some pretty decent games! I have a deep seated love of MMOs and wanted something that I could casually use for games but would also fit into my school bag and not weigh 12lbs. This laptop checked all my boxes and so far exceeds my expectations!

Asus 15in Q528EH Laptop
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been looking for the right 2in1 notebook to acquire. My couple year older 2in1 i7 15in highly rated competitor needed to go to my wife since her older i5 box was starting to have issues. She is a teacher, so she is doing remote and needs the personal laptop to help her do/show lessons while using her primary work laptop for the Google meet and breakout sessions. So! I got this amazing Asus 15-inch Core i7 box with 16GB of RAM and a 512 SSD. This has become my baseline spec that I seek. I usually have multiple MS Office Docs/spreadsheets/ppts open at a time in addition to 20-30 tabs in Firefox and/or Chrome. I want instantaneous switching and responsiveness. With this new Asus, I am not disappointed. It is fast! Wake up from sleep is very fast and I have also noticed that the camera for facial recognition is extremely fast and accurate. I struggled with this on my last highly rated 2in1. It would try and try and finally recognize me or force me to my pin. This Asus is spot on! Literally instantly recognizes me and I am up and running. As far as specifics, weight is above average for this 2in1box. It weighs in at 4.19lbs which is actually heavy. To be honest, it’s hard to find a solid, feature filled 2in1 like this substantially lighter. It’s also a bit thick at .78inches. To be honest, I don’t know how many people actually use this as a “tablet”. I would think most use as a ‘tent’ to watch videos/movies. But let me be clear, this is a solid, extremely well-made laptop and that makes up for the weight and thickness in my opinion. Audio is supplied by onboard Harmen/Kardon. Sound is “ok” but It is important to utilize the equalizer and settings to boost the sound. One of the settings that I have not validated but will try to do and update is the microphone options. It features ClearVoice Mic. You have 3 different options, two of which really help the work from home crowd. You can adjust for Single presenter conference call or muti-presenter conference call. Each have optimizations and noise cancelling filters to control ambient noise in those scenarios. Keyboard layout on this box is great. It takes a bit of getting used to but the included number pad on the keyboard is very good, especially if you do a bunch of number crunching. Asus has made this fit in such a way that makes this almost seamless in ability to use. Backlighting is nice, again this box is solid, metal and the feel is high quality and well made. Battery life on this box is amazing. I repeatedly get close to 6+ hours of continuous usage but I have gotten probably around 28 hours spread across as many as 4 days without connecting the charger. This laptop so far has the least battery drain while not charging of anything I have ever had. The display is beautiful, it has a NVIDIA GeForce GTX1650 Max-Q graphics with 4GB dedicated memory for a full HD 1920x1080 view. It is stunning and fast! With Alexa built in, you have all those features and for me, the ability to control all my devices right on my laptop! Overall, I really love this box. Solidly made, full of features. I would recommend this box!

The Asus Genbook Flip 15 is a powerhouse laptop.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The laptop's sleek magnesium-aluminum chassis is both lightweight and durable, weighing just 3.5 pounds. The AniMe Matrix LED display on the lid adds a unique touch, allowing for personalized animations and notifications. The 14-inch QHD (2560x1440) display offers stunning visuals with a 120Hz refresh rate, making gameplay smooth and immersive. Colors are vibrant, and the sharp resolution enhances both gaming and creative work. Equipped with an AMD Ryzen 9 processor and an NVIDIA GeForce GPU, the G14 handles demanding games and multitasking with ease. I've played titles like Cyberpunk 2077 and Valorant without any hiccups. The 32GB RAM is a bonus for heavy workloads like video editing. One of the surprises is its battery life. It lasts about 8-10 hours on a standard workload, which is impressive for a gaming laptop. Ideal for gaming on the go! The keyboard is comfortable and features customizable RGB lighting, which enhances the gaming experience. The trackpad is responsive and smooth, making navigation effortless. Overall, the Asus Genbook Flip 15 is a powerhouse laptop that excels in performance, aesthetics, and portability. It's perfect for gamers and professionals alike. Highly recommended!

Asus is always reliable
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Asus is always reliable. I love the aesthetic of the laptop. Not going to lie I did have a problem in the beginning but turns out it was a windows problem not the actual laptop (photo added). So I did a factory reset and redownloaded a new version of windows and it fixed the issue. Screen is bright, it's compact, volume is better than my old asus laptop but I sometimes prefer a sound box. Another con is the placement of the power button bc I accidentally click it sometimes as well as it gets finger prints.

Lightning fast and durable with good specs
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is now my third ASUS laptop over the last ten years and I am firmly set to continue to go with them for anything computer and laptop related. With their most recent ZenBook creation, ASUS did not disappoint with the quality build and options they have incorporated into the Flip 15 model including the 11th generation Intel i7 processor, lightning-fast SSD, 16GB RAM, 512 GB memory, HD touchscreen compatible with a stylus, long lasting battery, Amazon Alexa and Windows Hello Face support to log in using your face without having to enter a password. The ZenBook has only one USB input, two USB-C inputs, a HDMI output and a SD card slot. Being new to the ZenBook family, I was excited to have the option to flip the screen around to use it as a touch screen tablet and stand it up in a triangle shape for the kids to use as a display for their shows which does come in handy in certain situations. The one thing I noticed right out of the box before booting up was how durable the ZenBook felt in my hands compared to my previous ASUS laptops; feels like a cold metal material to the touch and, according to the manufacturer, is US military-grade. However, the durability and hardware included does come with additional weight compared to a tablet or smaller tablet style device with a keyboard. As a casual gamer, the one reason I have steered clear of ZenBooks in the past is the lack of a dedicated graphics card. However, with this new ZenBook model, ASUS squeezed in a GeForce GTX 1650 Max-Q 4GB DDR6 graphics card which is a welcome surprise, especially considering the size of the 96 Wh battery that stretches along the length of the laptop/tablet; you would think there would not be much more room to add a video card but somehow, they managed. I tested out two AAA rated games and they ran relatively smooth on a medium graphics setting however I did notice some screen stuttering and lag while the ZenBook was plugged in. You are able to access and upgrade the SSD fairly easy removing the T5 screws underneath the keyboard however I was unable to see an option to upgrade the memory. The small bezel high-definition touchscreen is candy to the eyes and has technology built in to reduce eye strain which I could tell makes a huge difference even after using it for the first few times. The webcam is located just above the small bezel screen and offers a clear picture for conference calls. Another welcome upgrade is the sound which was engineered by Harmon/Kardon which offers crisp, clear sound however the two front firing speakers are not exactly loud enough for my taste and still prefer to use headphones in loud spaces. Overall, I am impressed with this ASUS ZenBook and would recommend it to anyone in the market for a fast, durable laptop/tablet with the option to game and upgrade the storage of the SSD.

Heavy duty aluminum case. Quality build upfront! Only issue is one drive slot which forces the user to use an external storage unit or do a more complicated drive change. You may be able to buy the 1 TB Intel version of this m.2 stick online and see if they offer migration software. Otherwise, you may lose the Optane function with a non-Optane drive. Can’t say for sure as I have never messed with Optane NVME M.2 combo drives. Detailed results: Face recognition functions were awesome for sign on. Boots clean and fast even with face recognition. This unit was able to display 4K video through the Thunderbolt C 4 and HDMI ports as well as play 4K games that required advanced processors and Video cards. default setting. No lag time in playing mode sequences was observed. XBOX controller in BT mode worked perfect. With PC games, you may have to. BT 5.0 worked as advertised as well as the intel AX200 WIFI-6. The 512 GB Intel H10 OPTANE 32GB NVME M.2 2230 long stick is a high-end intel product. 1080P display was clear and had no lags in fast action sequences. Programs ran without issues and transfer speeds were significantly faster than the other units tested (twin Thunderbolt 4 ports). Be advised that advertised transfer speeds are only for specially designed hardware to accommodate those speeds in the appropriate environment. Transfer speed was in the range of 630 MBPS for connected equipment with correct specifications ( Thunder Bolt 4 to USB C external NVME drive)(incredible to say the least). Be advised external device over-heat will truncate speeds to 70MBPS. Internet download speeds were checked and clocked 117 MBPS which is past the limit of my paid service. BT 5.0 will only transfer files if you have the proper files and equipment to do the transfer. Testing BT 5.0 transfer file rates are observed only with no specific measurements. Music files played without issue. Also, iPhone will not transfer files via BT direct to a Windows computer. Discovered that the Microsoft Edge app for iPhone will sync and download your files over the internet. Range of BT 5.0 is around 120 feet through two concrete walls and 250 feet line of site. Lossless music files, two BT 5.0 headphones, and a remote speaker were used for test (5.0 can connect to more than one BT device at a time). AX range was down the street from my house. Microphone/headphone jacked worked fine. Be sure to into sound settings to pick the correct micro phone device for the headset. Battery life was around 5 hours of heavy use, 29 hours of mixed use, and several days of occasional use with auto sleep and shutdown enabled. 1.9 hours or less for a full recharge from a 0% battery. This unit is easy on battery use. You must go into the ASUS and Windows settings to increase the speeds and amount of time before power saver kicks in. This unit is setup for maximum battery saver time. Case was heavy aluminum. Case was removed. 11 Torx 5 screws on the bottom with snaps holding it in place (center screw was hard to see as it as covered) . Small plastic case separator and micro flat tip screwdriver were used to remove the case. NVME stick is easy to replace but is the only SSD slot on the MOBO. Also since it has a built in 32GB Intel Optane chip inside the Intel NVME M10 2280 combo stick, cloning will be more difficult to a standard NVME stick. Battery is user replaceable! Be advised that most of the Torx 5 bits online are soft tipped and will not work. I got lucky and went to Lowes and PU a Craftsman set that actually worked. Test process: Computer was set up with all Windows 10 and all ASUS updates completed (only Defender activated). Oct 2020 Version of the FW was installed. Asus IA software that came with the unit was used for scans and updates (Very useful tool-be sure to install this one). You can go into settings and customize this but to me it easier to disable it during set up. You can always turn it on later and only upload select files if you need that function. This issue caught me off guard a second time while I was wondering why the laptop was not blazing fast. User error for sure. Also don’t add features that you don’t need during the setup. Only install items that are actually on your must have list. These items can be changed later as needed. Run a clean mean machine when you can. I never run two antivirus software packages on a computer. The built into the Windows 10 core system has Microsoft Defender embedded into the code and is outstanding in every area. Others may need additional help. YMWV

Smooth and Sleek Do Everything Laptop
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Asus Q528EH ZenBook Flip 15 does pretty much everything you need a laptop to do, and does it very well. Build quality is excellent -- slim but with a heavy, robust feel. The solid back-lit keyboard and excellent touchpad gives adds to this premium feel. The gorgeous brushed metal laptop exterior is labeled as "US Military grade" -- not sure what the means, exactly but it certainly feels solid. This ZenBook Flip 15 incorporates some impressive audio for a laptop. Harman Kardon front-facing speakers provide genuinely good sound. The ports are arranged nicely, if not a bit sparse running along either side of the laptop and includes an audio port, a single USB A port, two USB C ports, and card reader and an HDMI port to connect a full size monitor. The FHD 15" touchscreen provides a crisp, colorful display and the 2-in-1 configuration allows you to go from work/productivity to a movie machine or a tablet-like browser. Productivity is handled capably by the 11th gen. Core i7 and 16 Gb of RAM. The 512 Gb SSD could be a little bigger but provides a reasonalbe amount of storage space. Gaming performance is respectable thanks the Geforce GTX 1650. It won't compete with the latest flagship gaming laptops, but does a solid job of running most games with reasonable quality settings. As would be expected with a higher end PC, the Operating System is Windows 10 Professional, which is important if you need to connect to your work network and don't want to fork over and $100 for an upgrade from Windows 10 Home. If you like assistants, this Zenbook is Alexa compatible. If you're looking for a portable desktop that will get things done with the ability to play some games while offering lots of flexibility, the Asus Q528EH ZenBook Flip 15 is an excellent choice.

Great laptop with lots of versatility
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this laptop to allow for some gaming when away from my XBOX as well as a laptop my wife could use when she was away from her home office. She does design work for her home based business and needed a powerful laptop to handle Adobe Suite of software. First thing we noticed when we pulled it out of the box was the weight and how solid it feels. The case is solid aluminum and the hinges are metal/aluminum as well so should offer many years of use without worry of breaking it. The touchscreen is also very responsive and with the ability to use a stylus my wife can leverage this for her business when I am not gaming on it. To test the gaming I downloaded Doom Eternal and Gears 5 to test out this laptop. Both run without any issues, Doom Eternal actually loads in what feels like maybe 10 seconds and runs smooth as butter with no lag and very clear. Gears 5 takes about a minute and a half to two minutes to load but once loaded I didn't notice any slow down and it also runs very smooth. I connected one of my XBOX One Controllers via bluetooth in seconds and was rocking. My only real gripe is the number pad because it is not only smaller than normal and slimmer but also the placement of the "0" and "Del" keys. The "0" is not centered or closer to the "2" key but all the way to the left under the "1" key with the "Del" key being more centered where I keep trying to hit "0". Just takes getting used to but is a bit annoying. Overall this is a very solid laptop, with some top of the line components from Intel and Nvidia. I have been building PC's at home for over 20 years and have always had solid performance and results with Asus MB's and products and this laptop is no exception.

This Baby is FAST!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The unit is quite weighty. I have a Samsung Spin Notebook (also a 2-in-1) that I purchased in 2016. It is quite heavy as well. I would have thought that the unit would become lighter, especially with less on-board memory. It’s a drawback for using the computer as a tablet. It still feels awkward for me to hold, which is one reason I didn’t use the Spin in that mode much. It’s beautiful, though. Nice graphite. Colors of the screen are exceptional. The unit is Pantone certified, which vibrancy would be expected. I tried to illustrate that in a photo but even the best photo is limited by the camera used to take it (Samsung Note20 5G). It’s Alexa enabled (seems like everything is now). I have the Amazon Ecosystem, but with so many devices with Alexa, using it on this unit isn’t an everyday occurrence. I can see how this would be handy when on-the-go, though. A step up from the standard Cortana. One delight is this thing is FAST. I don’t think I’ve ever owned a unit this fast. Setup was a breeze and didn’t take long at all. I’m used to getting impatient while Windows does whatever it does so it can do all the things. Each boot is also super-fast. No frustration if you have to restart for whatever reason. Battery life is crazy long. I had this unit unplugged, sitting closed, for several days on a dresser, and it was fresh. If you are using for long periods of time, the battery lasts all day (approx. 8 hrs.). The sound from the speakers, though, was disappointing. Quite tinny, couldn’t get a lot of volume from it. Not sure why. I have not found a laptop that has exceptional sound. It’s easy enough to use one of my Bluetooth speakers if I really need quality sound. Touchscreen is responsive. Fingerprints are an issue, though, as to be expected. Kids love touchscreens, and touchscreens love their prints. All in all, it’s a nice little unit. I like the flexibility it offers. You’ll need to realize that the memory isn’t robust (in exchange you get great speed) so you may want to get used to saving things in the cloud if you don’t already.

Gets the job done
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was forced to get a Windows computer due to the University software interface. The ASUS ZenBook Flip 15 is strong, I mean it can withstand a hit. I am a frequent traveler and spite of trying sometimes it gets a hit against the table tray or when a passenger in front inclines the seat. I checked and not even a scratch is shown. If you are a frequent traveler or planning to use it in different places, this laptop is 5 star. It is comfortable to use. However, the OS is just too slow. This PC comes with i7 and 16GB Memory and I can see how my 9 year old iMac can go trough processes faster. I have had it for 1 month and I have had to restart Windows more than 8 times. In other words, it is horrible the experience to transition from iOS to DOS. Regarding the screen, it provides an amazing resolution. However, as you can see the screen is like a mirror. If you are working in daylight the screen reflection is just too much. Speakers are not good at all. Considering all the features I was expecting for a good sound system but I am very disappointed of it.

Very Nice
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The only issue I have with it so far is that it doesn't have good volume when it comes to sounds, videos, music, etc. Other than that, I think it's pretty cool and innovative. I use it for college, watching videos/movies, and gaming.

The laptop I should've had all along! EXCELLENT!!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.PLEASE CLICK THE HELPFUL ICON IF YOU LIKE THIS REVIEW! This is an absolutely FANTASTIC laptop! I have been used to purchasing economy laptops during holiday sales, every so many years, and hold out buying another until the previous one crashes. Recently, my job upgraded us to HP EliteBooks, which we dock at dual monitors, instead of having desktops. That was the first time I ever used a "perfect laptop". I decided I would no longer go with a budget model. That is...until I saw how much it costs! I searched tirelessly online for a comparable model and came across this Asus - a brand I've never used before. (I've been an HP & Lenovo girl for many years; I've also used Dell and Toshiba's in the past.) The features that came at this price point (even better that I got it on sale for $899 a few months back, were far superior to any and every other laptop I could find. Here are a few of my absolute favorite features and the things which I'm not crazy about. LIKE BEST (PROS): 1 - You get not one but TWO type-c ports! This is unheard of! I easily purchased some budget adapters and connected them from my analog VGA port external monitors to the USB type C ports. I "dock" my laptop that way when I need to use it for long periods of time, and use dual monitors, like I'm used to. (This does take some getting used to and setting up extended displays as well as selecting the option for nothing to happen when you close the laptop. This only takes a minute or two and then it's easy to use any time you need it; simply unplug when you want to use it like a traditional laptop. I was able to have 2 unique displays but couldn't figure out how to use my laptop screen as a third display (as in displaying a unique image but not duplicating one of the other monitors). This isn't really an issue as I didn't really need 3 screens - I just wanted to be fancy and see if it would work.) 2 - Speed - this thing is FAST...it boots up in the blink of an eye. I'm a multi-tasker and it handles anything I throw at it without delay (including but not limited to, a ridiculous amount of browser tabs that I refuse to stop opening simultaneously, Adobe professional for PDF editing, Photoshop / Lightroom for photo editing, etc.) This thing is a beast. It boasts a magnificent 16GB of RAM, which is more than sufficient for anything that I need to do (Please note - I am *NOT* a gamer and cannot speak to how this laptop would preform from a gamer perspective.) For word processing, document and photo editing, multi-tasking, etc. it's all that I ever wanted and so much more! This laptop also has a new model processer - Intel Core 7, which is again, unheard of for this price point (11th generation at 2.8 GHz)! 3 - Touchscreen is pretty cool. Let me say, I've had touchscreen and traditional laptops and I'm actually not really a fan of touchscreens. However, I liked the rest of the specs, so I went ahead and got it. I am pleasantly surprised! I actually like the touch screen and purchased a cheap pen off Amazon to go with it. While I don't do a lot of graphic work, it's been nice when using One Note and experimenting with handwritten notes or just doing some doodling in my free time. 4 - Whisper quiet - this laptop does not have a super loud or obnoxiously constantly running fan. Yes, the fan does turn on as needed, but it stay at a really good temperature before it needs to turn on. 5 - Battery life is better than expected, considering the robust operations I usually use it for. I am very satisfied with the battery life of this device! THE CONS: 1 - This laptop has only one regular USB (old style) port. Since a lot of things don't use Type C connections yet, and for those of us that don't have all wireless connectivity points for things like printers, scanners, etc, this can be cumbersome. It's not a major deal, but I did purchase a USB hub for a couple of bucks, for when I need to connect other things. 2 - Numerical keypad - I'm a numbers person and secondary to the main laptop features, I care a lot about the feel of the keyboard. A numerical keypad on the right side was an absolute must for me or it would've been a deal breaker (I know there are plug ins, but I like it built in). The way the numerical keypad is spaced out is rather strange to me. It feels "too small", whereas the size and spacing of most of the rest of the QWERTY keypad feels "normal". It also takes some getting used to the placement of the * and enter key, etc. 3 - The arrows on the keyboard also "don't feel normal". The buttons are small and seem spaced strangely. I'm an extremely fast typist and still haven't gotten used to the arrows. These small things slow people down. For points 2 & 3 in my "CONS" section, I feel that these could've been more adequately addressed by the manufacturer, because there seems to be ample spacing on the top - however, I don't know if underlying components had something to do with it or if they were just trying to be different. Either way, I would prefer a more traditional feel. 4 - Weight - this laptop is noticeably heavier than some budget model HP laptops that I have had in the past. Not unbearably so; however, if you suffer from back or neck problems, you'd probably want a wheeled carrier or bookbag style carrying case, if you need to haul it around all the time. 5 - I like the "flip" feature to turn it into a tablet, but find it somewhat strange that the screen only flips back and not around. This means that if you're using it in tablet mode and have it sitting on the table, the keyboard is face down on the table. While I don't use tablet mode often, this may not be an issue, but if used constantly, it makes me wonder how well the keypad will hold up for long-term use. It should also be noted that the fan profile is disabled in tablet mode. Again, this has not proved to e an issue for me, based on my use of the laptop. 6 - Comes with Windows 10 Home; I would've preferred Windows 10 Pro, but still a great deal! Overall, in summary, I would definitely recommend this laptop to anyone looking to improve their overall efficiency, reduce the stress experienced with budget laptops that are inferior in specifications, or even someone who wants to use it for light to medium business use. Again, I cannot speak to its performance from a gaming perspective. I am extremely satisfied with this purchase and feel it was a steal and worth its weight in gold!
