Customers are saying

Customers often highlight the ease of use, large button size, and good sound quality of the CRL32102 cordless phone. Many appreciate the clear caller ID, affordable price, and inclusion of an answering machine. While some found the setup straightforward, others noted the ringer volume could be improved and that call blocking is a missing feature. A few also commented on the phone's appearance when wall-mounted.

I bought this phone thinking it would be loud enough for me to hear people talking (I'm hearing impaired) but it's really no better than what I already have but I like it well enough to keep. Nice fit to the hand, pretty color, has a lot of great features.

Got this for my mom because of the larger buttons and light that flashes when the phone rings. Wish it had a louder ringer though.

I bought this to replace my other phone which causes hissy sound when somebody is calling me on cell phone. I thought this would get rid of annoying sound but it doesn't. And the second concern is the ringer isn't loud enough to be heard from the living room to my room. The voice on caller's ID is low too, the only good thing in this phone is the large lighted keypad and friendly user's set up. There you have it, an honest review.

The ring is too loud even when the ringer is turned all the way down. I do like that the phone and cradle do not take up a lot of room on my counter. Please fix the ringer!!!

I like it I just wish that you could adjust the volume for the machine lower. When it records it is kind of loud and I have it to the lowest volume.

Keyboard is a great improvement over previous phone. Setup is pretty easy except for ringer volume, which is so difficult I've subtracted a star. There does not seem to be a direct way to change the volume. Following the instructions will get you there about 1 time in 5, and I haven't found a better way. Other than that, I really like it.

This is a reasonably priced phone & overall is a good value. The one thing that could be improved is the incoming volume, as being a elderly person, my hearing is not great.!

Very average Phone. It’s usable. I find it hard to retrieve my voicemails. And it’s overall volume is below standards. But it’s adequate for my use.

AT&T has gone downhill. This phone is defective and only follows a few of the tech commands programmed. For example the ring is loud but when you lower it and even turn it off it's still loud. Doesn't allow turning off. I'm using it pretty much like an answering machine only. It does that well so far. Additionally, it's programmed only for 5 bar sounds higher, so often it's not loud enough depending on whom you are talking to.

    AT&T CRL32102 Cordless Phone & Answering System

    Posted .

I was looking for a replacement cordless phone/answering system at a reasonable price and, decided to try the AT&T CRL 32102 having a positive experience with two other AT&T corded phones, and this unit was just under $50.00. I ended up with more than I bargained for. First, like other current model cordless phones, it makes use of DECT 6.0 wireless technology which means a dedicated frequency for cordless phones that gives extended range, is not bothered by interference from such devices as microwave ovens, and does not interfere with home wireless computer networks. This AT&T phone system (manufactured by V-Tech) has quite a few useful options, especially for people with hearing or vision issues. It has an extremely large viewing screen with large, black text on bright, white backlighting. A large keypad with orange backlighting with the option of a key press to be announced by the digital voice function. You can also activate talking Caller ID to hear who is calling as well as call-screening to hear answering machine incoming messages. Audio has also not been forgotten: The phone offers a feature called HD Audio - circuitry to add clarity to calls. On the front, there is an audio assist button to add a little more volume boost than the volume control alone. On the right side, there is an EQ button that alters, bass, treble, natural response, again for call clarity. In the short time I've used the unit, it has performed flawlessly, and I have been especially impressed with the quality of the digital voice functions. Per the enclosed abbreviated instructions ( a full 90 page manual is available on the AT&T website as a .pdf file), make sure to charge a fresh battery for 16 hours before setting up and customizing the phone options to eliminate issues. If you need expansion handsets, this system can support up to 12. I didn't know how well I would like it initially, so I only purchased the base unit configuration. Now that I am completely satisfied, I purchased an extension handset that has all the features of the base unit. Registration of additional handsets is easy, quick, and automatic. A few little cons (but nothing that detracts from the value here): First, these are small, lightweight handsets that are somewhat smooth and slippery. Perhaps in future versions, they might add a rubberized coating to the sides, making it easier to hold on to. Second, when you are away from the base unit and using only the handset to play back messages, even with maximum volume, you need to hold the unit close to your ear to hear clearly. Finally, the handsets use a special battery and plug-in connector. I hope this gives you an informed buying decision and I highly recommend this product!

I bought this phone for the audio assist feature, since I am a little hard of hearing. sounds good when using the phone, however the ringer is very weak and that is at it's loudest. Now need to buy an additional handset or amplifier.

Phone is billed as good for senior citizens. It does have large buttons but nothing else that is overly senior friendly. My primary reason for the low rating is the overly complicated navigation menu. The first thing my mother asked when I set her phone up was how do I turn off the ringer if I want to take a nap. Unfortunately, this phone has no simple way to do the task. It takes 7 seperate menu selections to reach the screen to change the handset ringer volume. Needless to say my 78 year old mother was unable to navigate the menu.
