This is good for my 1 Gbps ethernet connection. I was afraid of losing the only USB C port for just ethernet. This dongle provides the additional USB C port, so other devices can be connected to the laptop while connected to the ethernet. Can get warm to touch when used by multiple devices simultaneously.

I bought this because my new laptop didn't have an Ethernet port and it lagged quite a bit on the Wi-Fi. This adapter allowed me to hard line my laptop and it works write well. My only complaint is that it gets really hot.

This may be better suited for a Mac. It over heated and stopped working with my HP laptop after about 50 minutes. Up until then, it worked wonderfully.

I was told to buy a more expensive adapter as it will last longer than others I've had, so I picked this one. I don't know how long it will last yet, but find that it gets very hot to the touch. Hot enough that I make sure it's not touching anything that can catch on fire or melt. I also noticed that it doesn't fit snuggly in the slot. Slips out easily

Works perfect if you need fast reliable connection on your MacBook Air. It does get a little warm so I would suggest to disconnect from your MacBook when not in use. Charges the MacBook Air the same amount of time as if you tried charging directly.

Gets the job done but still limiting for someone who has limited ports. Also find that it heats up quite a bit but did not interfere with performance.

I purchased this to use with a MacBook Pro after I was disappointed to see that newer MBPs no longer included a built-in Ethernet port. I liked the 2-in-1 design of a charger and wired network connection using a single USB-C port instead of using one for charging and another for an Ethernet dongle. I'm not sure if I received a faulty adapter or not, but it was always warm to the touch, even after the MBP was fully charged. Then it stopped working altogether about 5 months later. I’m outside of the Best Buy return period, and I don’t feel like paying another $34.99 + tax to see if I have better luck with a replacement so I’m just going to give this 1 star.

So easy to setup. Although it seems that Belkin doesn't officially support iPad Pro, it did work really well with my 2018 model. With the Logitech keyboard I have, my iPad feels like a full laptop. This is the first time I use an Ethernet adapter on an iPad so I was a bit surprised how easy it was to get it working. Once I attached it, it connected and turned WiFi off automatically and just a few seconds later, it was available with an IP address. I immediately tested the speed and got download at 912.29 Mbps and upload at 929.8 Mbps with Jitter of 0.078ms and no loss. And this was to the internet over a CenturyLink fiber. Can’t get any better than that. It also worked flawlessly with my Surface Pro 3 (yes, I'm way behind) although it took about 30 seconds to be functional. No issues after that though. I like the fact that it is small considering that it serves a double function. The most important feature, however, is the USB-C pass-through power that allows you to use the same port for the Ethernet connection and to charge the iPad or laptop. Overall, I like its performance and most importantly its plug-and-play ability, especially on the iPad Pro. If I were to complain about something, I would say the plastic feel doesn’t match the body of the iPad but it is not ugly. It does get a bit warm after a while but not really hot.

I never realized how fast internet speeds can be when a computer is hooked up directly to it via Ethernet. We pay for the highest speed internet our provider has for non-business/home use but of course we use Wi-Fi for all our devices in our household. However, in these days of increasing work-from-home scenarios, both my husband and I would benefit greatly from having a secure and fast internet connection when getting work done. I thought our internet was pretty fast already but when I used this Belkin Ethernet adapter hooked up to my MacBook Pro, internet pages and sites loaded up lightning fast—as soon as I would click on a website or link, it would load immediately, within a blink of an eye. And there was no installation hassle or anything—just plug the adapter into one of the MacBook’s/laptop's USB-C ports then plug the Ethernet cable into the adapter and Voila, done and ready to go. I also tested and tried charging via the convenient USB-C port on the adapter (great for those who have laptops with limited USB-C ports) and as advertised, it did indeed charge up the MacBook pretty fast at the same time it was hooked up via Ethernet. The only slight negative I would have to point out is that the adapter itself gets pretty hot while in use, even after only a short period of time, but that isn’t enough to ding my review any stars at all. The performance is good.

    Solves my problem

If you are looking for an ethernet adapter and have a relatively new PC or MAC (probably why you are looking at this one) you might have the same problem as me, only USB C ports or may a USB A port if your lucky and certainly not an ethernet port. So if you want to get directly into a device or just want to have the full speed of your internet when your at your desk you need a converter of some kind. I have one windows tablet that's only port is USB C, This little dongle is worth it since it has pass through power. When I'm limited on ports that can be extremely important. I like the size of this as I have a kit of different dongles, chargers, cords, pens, etc. that lives in my backpack for when I'm different places (not currently in the constant use it once was with the current state of affairs) . If you are at your desk constantly a usb c hub might be a more condensed solution for you but if you are looking for a device for you to be able to hardwire in on the go that is small (like at hotels or on devices in the field) I think this is a good little device for that and I would definitely recommend getting the pass through power (I have one without it and I have found myself stuck with a dead computer and the need to connect to a device and have a USB in the other port in the field and had to wait for some battery). Overall it does it job, my one concern is it does get warm, not like ouch that hurts but more like a oh that's nice and warm. This will most likely depend on how dead your laptop is and one could look at it as a bonus if your in a none heated room in the winter I suppose as it would make a perfect handwarmer. To the functionality of it. I tried it on Windows 10 and Windows 10 running on ARM, both were recognized immediately and switched over to the LAN connection so that side of the functionality is great. Also with this being in my travel bag I do wish the cord wrapped a little easier, maybe started on one side instead of the middle and had a notched area on the other side, but at this point that is just me wishing for something that I haven't really seen anywhere. Pros: nice size usb thru charge Higher wattage charging (mine take up to 45W so I know that works at least) Cons: Gets warm

Gets the best out of my high speed internet

On an LG Gram laptop, using the LG USB-C network adapter, I was getting good internet speed (80-90 Mbps) but the connection was suffering from high latency (>200ms, loaded) using the fast.com speed test. Ethernet only had a problem, wifi had better performance so I knew it was not my internet provider. Back-to-back, no reboot, just replacing the LG adapter with the Belkin INC001BTBK makes the ethernet performance jump to 350Mbps and <40 ms latency. The adapter gets warm as other reviewers have commented, however it's a small price to pay, it's a keeper!

I'm using this with a Samsung Notebook 9 Pro, and it works perfectly. Power pass through is on par with just using adapter aloe. It gets a bit warm, but not to a point of concern. Plugged in a Ethernet cable, and within 1 minute, I was good to go. Nothing to install, just recognized it as wired. The size is smaller than I expected, and that's a plus. Good to go!
