I have had Blackberry phones for many years. They are dependable and the connection is always clear and sharp. Each one I have had has been better than the last. The Bold is the best yet. It is fast and does all it claims. The bridge is great with the Playbook I own, which, with the new operating system, is a great little tablet computer. Granted the I-phone does a lot of neat things, but the one thing it does not do is operate as a good phone. Whenever I talk to someone from an I phone their message is unclear and breaks up. What good is having a phone if its least attractive feature is the phone? The camera works well if you go to the various settings for the type of picture you are taking, but automatic focus would have been better, but with out it the phone is thin and light. The battery last well if you keep it off Wi-Fi. If you leave that one you only get 8 hours before the battery gets low, with it off it last a few days.
The Bold has good internet availability, plays TV, radio, videos well without breakup, and provides me the fastest and easiest to uses email of any phone I have ever had. And that email is secure on their servers. Yes the company had made mistakes they won't sell these phones if they keep promising new ones and then extend the date again and again. Nor if they keep talking about the possibility of breaking up the company, They could also lower the price some.

Best Blackberry ever!

I've been a Blackberry user since 2005 and I have to admit this is the best blackberry ever! Its well designed from the outer casing to the touch screen itself. Battery life has always been a plus for Blackberries and the 9900 continues this tradition. OS 7 is faster, the speakers are louder, camera has greater resolution and the keyboard has to be the best QWERTY keyboard on the planet. The keys are raised just enough so that the feel natural on your fingertips without having to press with force. Great job RIM!

So far so good.

So far so good, I have had this phone for a couple months now and like it alot. The calander function is very easy to use and your appointments are right on your home screen. Bad if you enter something as a task it does not show up unless you are looking at the calander on that day. Also the touch screen is very sensitie, that is probably adjustable but I have not checked, still getting used to it.

Terrible Operating System - Avoid the 9900

The 9900 has a great display and a wonderful keyboard. The major limitation is the battery life! The battery dies in a few hours.
The cause is the operating system.
1. GPS drains the battery and should be turned off unless the unit is attached to a charger.
2. 4G drains the battery, a phenomena well recognized in other 4G units. However, Blackberry OS7 only allows the user to select 2G (EDGE) or turn off wireless data completely. With 2G (EDGE), one cannot talk on the phone while using data (Maps, navigation, or email.)
3. Blackberry Protect (part of OS7) interferes with the user actually using the 9900 handset in a usual manner. The software prompts for the users Blackberry ID, but will not validate that ID unless connected to a cellular wireless data network. It will not validate via WiFi. Unless the Blackberry ID is validated, the user cannot use the handset.
4. OS7 (Blackberry Protect) will not allow for the handset to be used just with WiFi alone. A cellular data network connection must be present. In real world usage, sometimes only WiFi signal is available. Examples: Travelling and not wanting to pay roaming data charges or being in a building with no cell signal but WiFi is present....
Recommendation: Until RIM fixes OS7, I suggest you get an android or an iPhone

I love this phone! It really does everything I need a smartphone to do. It is very fast and looks great. This is definitely the best blackberry to date. If you don't like typing on a touch screen this is the best phone for you.

The New Product (BLACKBERRY BOLD 9900) Is O.K. However, Start-Up Instructions & Coupons were not included in the package with the New Phone. Remember, all of the above mentioned items were returned with the defective phone, but, were not replaced with the new phone.

I have had Blackberrys for over 5 years.
I enjoy it more then the i-phone I have.
This BB came and after the first phone call the mic and speaker stopped working. I removed and replaced the batrtery. It worked for a few hours and the same problem. After three weeks, I am continually having the same problem..
Quality is not what it used to be.

I bought an iPhone 5 a few days before Christmas after having BlackBerrys for many years. Well...it was a mistake to switch. I did not like the iPhone and ended up taking it back and buying my BlackBerry Bold 9900. This phone's screen is gorgeous and the calls/reception are clear and strong. I will never stray again! I've been babying it so much because I appreciate it's value so much more.

I had this phone for 2 weeks and it started going crazy like it had a mind of its own. It would dial numbers, take pictures, get on the internet, all sorts of things all by itself. It act as if it had a virus. I returned the phone to get a new one and its going on a week and a half and i still havent gotten my phone. Poor service by best buy.
