Fantastic for Verizon
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first blackberry. I bought this for two reasons: 1. Miss the gold old days of small screens and physical keyboards like on my Droid and palm treos, and 2. I wanted better battery life than my pixel 2. No regrets on either two points, plus the bonus of several convenience features perfect for my lifestyle. pros: -battery life is great on verizon's LTE only bands. What a difference no CDMA bands makes. -screen, although smaller, is plenty usable and great. Even compared to my Pixel 2. -speed after removing most of the blackberry software except for DTEK, privacy shade, and power center is awesome. Also had to adjust some of erroneous warnings (YouTube this) -Convenience key programming is awesome, and the button doubles as a mute switch for calls. Great for conference calls in the city or while traveling. -The launcher is fantastic. I kept it installed even though I'm normally a stock/Nova kind of person. cons: -camera is not bad, but it is no Pixel. I'm able to capture good pictures of my kids and whiteboards, but I miss my pixel. Thought this would be a deal breaker, but the camera is not that bad. -Software that came with the device was hurting memory usage and performance. I disabled and Uninstaller what I could and now the phone screams with dev options .5 seconds enabled. Replace all utilities with Google's version of the same software and all is well.

Hard keyboard, better apps rule
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The BlackBerry Key2 maintains my favorite aspects of my previous BlackBerry Q10 -- the hard keyboard and outstanding email management -- while significantly improving two big Q10 drawbacks -- terrible apps and a small screen. The Key2 operates on the Android system, giving me access to any app I want. It also has a much bigger screen that provides significantly improved clarity when I read and respond to email and visit websites. The BlackBerry Hub cannot be beat for email management. Also, BlackBerry has the most underrated mobile-phone camera, and the Key2 camera is first-rate. My only worry is whether the Key2 will have enough memory for all the apps to which I now have access. Finally, the BlackBerry Key2 may not be on display at the BestBuy where you usually shop. But it may be in inventory. Ask for it by name.

The Blackberry I’ve been waiting on
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been using BB for the past 7 years. It’s been tough because I had to get a second phone line on my plan because I couldn’t get any apps on BB Classic. With the new Key2 LE I get industry best battery life, security, and access to all apps! I did find it hard to find a case for this phone. I find the phone itself to be very slick and slippery. The camera is only average. The phone doesn’t vibrate very hard so I find myself missing lots of calls and texts. I had no problems getting this phone to work perfectly on AT&T.

It has a keyboard (physically)
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this phone to replace my aging Nokia Lucia 920 with Windows. Never used Android much, having mostly used the aforementioned Windows, an iPhone 6s for work, and a BlackBerry Torch long ago. I'm getting used to the OS. It seems good, more complicated than Apple's but more personalizable. Usually it's pretty fast too. If your phone starts lagging, remember to close unused apps, check your apps for updates and restart after they're downloaded, that should probably fix things and get the phone running smoothly again. The Key2 LE seems to suit my tastes very well. The keyboard is so satisfying to use. The BlackBerry Hub app is the most useful manufacture specific software, though there are a few others. Mapping shortcuts to your letter keys is another cool feature. Wish there was a trackpad or something so selecting within Text would be easier. Apple does it better with their magnifying glass.

Wonderful Keyboard, Security ... and my Hub
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Another wonderful Blackberry. Yes, I know, it has an android operating system, but it has all the things I want from my Blackberry, my wonderful Keyboard, my Hub, and the Security no other device can offer. I also love the video and camera quality. Another Blackberry to love!!! I bought the Atomic Red, so cool!

Excellent phone for the keyboard lover
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been a BlackBerry/Palm user from way back before the iPhone was really a thing. I was hooked on the flashing LED on BlackBerries that told you, without waking up the phone, whether you had anything come in to look at. I left the hardware keyboard market after the BlackBerry Q10 because there really weren't any other alternatives until I saw this phone at Best Buy. I was never happy with an iPhone, never could get used to the keyboard (no matter which third party keyboard I tried, they were all frustrating to me). I was immediately drawn in by that keyboard on the Key2 LE. It's straight like the Q10 keyboard, but still just as good as you remember. The phone is slim, lightweight, and grippy. No case necessary to keep from dropping it. Pretty much the opposite of many modern phones. I looked at the phone and played around with it for probably 10 minutes, loving every minute. I didn't buy the first day, wasn't sure I wanted to switch to Android, and didn't want to spend the money at the time. I did some research online and saw that people were criticizing the camera and the small screen, among other things. Waiting. When I went back to Best Buy a few weeks later, the phone was on sale so I bought. I have found that the camera is every bit as good as my iPhone SE's camera, maybe even a little bit better. Sure it isn't as good as an iPhone Xs camera, but this phone also doesn't cost over a thousand dollars. I hold a Photography bachelor's and I am more than satisfied with this camera. Yeah the screen is small but it isn't really much smaller than many other phones when you consider that with most phones, you lose a huge portion of the screen once you open the keyboard. That never happens with the Key2 LE. However, if you're in Landscape and tap on a text field an onscreen keyboard will pop up. The Hub is a lot like the Q10's - it loads all your emails and texts, and notifications from other apps into one panel. You can sort, search, and dismiss notifications from the Hub and bring it up with a keyboard hotkey. This is the first phone since the Q10 where I have set up both my personal and work emails because the Hub makes it so much easier to manage all the emails I get on a daily basis. There is also a slide-over panel that gives you quick access to your calendar, Hub, and widgets in an instant no matter which app you are on at the time. Every key on the keyboard can launch an app or action, like holding down W will call your wife. You'll find that once you set all this up, you rarely need to hit the home button ever again. I was worried about Android spying on me, but with DTEK (a built in app by Blackberry), I can see every time Google asks for my location, microphone, etc. It's a lot like a firewall app for your phone. You can even prevent Google from asking for your location period. Battery life has been great, it lasts all day easily and I could probably get by with only charging every other day if I wanted to. I haven't had any issues with the phone slowing down or getting hot. It's been crazy reliable. Any downsides? None so far for me. As I use it more over the coming months, I might find some things that nag me but so far I'm very happy.

NOT COMPATIBLE WITH VERIZON
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The front of the box says it is compatible with Verizon. Well, it partially is. The phone itself is great, but it is extremely disappointing that it says it works with Verizon, even though it doesn't. After spending several hours with a Verizon technician trying to troubleshoot why text messaging didn't work, he concluded that the device isn't fully compatible with the Verizon network. Very saddening, as this could have been a great phone.

Best Physical Keyboard in YEARS!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Blackberry Mobile (TCL) did a great job. Excellent PKB. Better feel than on previous years model. Very nice screen, looks AMAZING in atomic red. Solid speed on the snapdragon 636 and the camera is not too shabby for a mid Ranger. Great non slip grip and once again the atomic red is looking great and already I am getting compliments on this retro PKB made for 2018/19! Well done!

Excellent phone! Highly recommended!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an excellent phone! I am very happy with the purchase. First of all, the slate looks spectacular and the phone feels very good in the hands. It is not too heavy, nor too light. The physical keyboard is great. It is very responsive and tactile. The speed key is one of the best features about this phone. The phone is nice and speedy with little to no bloatware. Some people love the pre-installed Blackberry software, but I can do without. I love that there is a 3.5mm headphone jack! 64GB of storage is plenty but I've added a 128GB MicroSD card anyway. I'm pretty happy with the camera. Lot's of negative reviews said about the camera, but it works well enough for me! The battery life is also great. It was fully charged by 3PM yesterday. I have used it quite a bit with wifi, bluetooth, playing music, a 1 hour long phone call, several text messages and some video. It is now 9:30AM the next day and i have 31% with approximately 8 hours left. One con for me is that it is not IP66 rated, but it is understandable with the physical keyboard. Overall, I am very happy with the device and highly recommend it for anyone looking for something a bit out of the norm.

Excellent phone if you want a PKB (phy keyboard)
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having moved from a Blackberry Q10 to a DTEK60, I didn't realize how much I missed a physical keyboard until I recently picked up the Key2 LE. My typing is much more efficient, and there is no more searching for icons to launch the app I need. Battery life is excellent (2 full days) even though it is only a 3000 mAH battery as it has a slower (but fast enough) processor as compared to the Key2. If you are looking for a smaller form factor phone that is primarily for communications, scheduling, etc. along with running some of your favorite Android apps, then this might be the phone for you. If you are heavy into the multimedia experience or looking for a camera replacement I would look elsewhere.

Solid Smartphone with a Physical Keyboard!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I type 2-3 times faster, and more accurately, on a physical keyboard versus a virtual keyboard. The physical keyboard was the main reason I bought this phone, but I was pleasantly surprised by the overall performance of the phone. I know that the Key2 LE is considered a "downgrade" from the Key2 both in terms of build (plastic vs. metal body) and processor speed, but you'd never know it using the phone. It's quite responsive. And, contrary to a few reviews I've read, I have found the battery life to be excellent. I was a little afraid that, with a fixed keyboard (non-slide), the smaller screen would bother me; but that has not been the case at all. The screen seems more than adequate for my needs. The quality of the camera is not a big issue for me, so if it's not state-of-the-art compared to other phones, I really don't care. My big concern was whether or not this unlocked phone would work on Verizon's network. Well, the good news is that it does! As others have reported, just make sure Verizon provisions it as a CDMA-less phone. The only negative I've found using the Key2 LE on the Verizon network is that the phone will NOT support wifi calling on Verizon. However, the 4G LTE signal at my house seems to be stronger and more reliable than the old CDMA signal, which was very weak where I live. One last note - Yes, the keyboard is just as good as all the BlackBerry keyboards of the past!

Better than expected. Better than the origina Key2
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had the KeyOne, Key2 and now the Key2 LE. The KeyOne was a terrible phone alround. The signal strength was poor. The phone had too many glitches and lagged alot. The Key2 had many minor glitches and signal strength was not the best for the MetroPCS Carrier. I was hesitant to get the LE because of the lack of signal strength from previous models and overall unpleasant experience. However, for the price of $449, I was intrigued to test it out. After a week of solid use, my everyday driver, I'm happy to report that the Key2 LE has improved. I get strong signal strength. No lags. No hiccups. Battery is great. Lasts all day. Phone is solid. I didn't think I would stay with the phone, I just wanted to tested and review it. But now, I don't want to get rid of it. It's just amazing! So, I highly recommend the LE model. You won't be disappointed. The only reason I gave it a 4 stars is because this phone does not support WiFi calling. If it had WiFi calling then it'll be a 5 star!

Works like it should
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been a BlackBerry user for at least 5 phones in a row. I continue to want one as I use the keyboard for extensive emailing for work. I read reviews and contacted BlackBerry before purchasing to use on Verizon. The Best Buy people did not think it would work for data. I was discouraged and came back and bought it anyway after BlackBerry chat said this particular model did work fully. It was an easy transition. The content transfer worked well. I really like the phone. I had a Priv and liked it but after 3 yrs the battery was not holding a charge well. I used the dual SIM feature when in France and that worked well. No complaints and the price is quite reasonable.

I missed my Blackberry
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have spent the last several years attempting to type text messages, emails and IMs with limited success due to virtual keyboards. Since buying this Blackberry Key 2 LE, I can now type quickly and still remain coherent. Overall this phone has a smaller screen than my previous phone, but it is still big enough to get on the internet, view photos, and watch movies. Audio is pretty good, but I do most of my listening via blue tooth headphones. Camera is OK. The phone has some heft, so it either feels substantial, or a tad heavy. I will say that this phone comes with a lot of Blackberry branded software. Some of it is useful and unique, others are redundant. Overall, I love this phone. I would recommend to others that miss a physical keyboard.

keyboard not nearly as good as bold 9000
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.to be brief, I think they should have made the keyboard better, even at the cost of less screen space, because its the main reason you buy this phone, coming from a Bold 9930 the keyboard is a noticeable downgrade but there aren't any alternatives so if you want a keyboard on a 2019 phone get this because there is nothing else, especially if you want the red color, the phone itself is very pretty fingerprint scanner in space bar is excellent single speaker is underwhelming, but hey at least they gave us a headphone jack hopefully next generation will have better keyboard until then i have to use this, for $350 i think it's a great deal

Great Phone, Great Shipping
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this to replace a 2 year old BlackBerry KeyOne on Verizon (and for BlackBerries on Verizon, choices are rather limited). Free shipping was almost immediate and I received it in less than 2 days. Great service from Best Buy. The phone is everything I had hoped for. It is the same physical size as the KeyOne but is lighter. Setup was quick with a new sim from Verizon and in no time I had most everything transferred over from the old phone. I like that it is running Android 8.1 (I know there are newer versions but at least it is newer than the KeyOne capped at 7). The new camera works well. Battery life seems excellent. Everything works well and appears to be an excellent phone.

best bang for buck, high quality design heads turn
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This phone is awesome. Coming from an iPhone 6SE, the screen size is an upgrade. The keyboard is super refined blackberry is not only the only QWERTY keyboard phone but its super fine from experience making keyboards. I got the champagne, very classy looking and has a rich feel to it. You will either love it or hate it because its not like your traditional smart phone,, but even smarter! There's tons of security and this phone is super sophisticated for the savvy business man/woman. Please buy this phone so we can BBM! I look at traditional smart phones very differently now and people will look at you different because this phone is one of a kind.

Great Blend of Blackberry and Android
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been very happy with this Blackberry Key2 LE Android phone in the 18 months since I purchased it. I especially like how long the battery lasts -- I never have to charge it more than once a day even when playing music or podcasts via bluetooth all day. Another thing that is really nice is the Blackberry Hub+ which shows everything going on in one place -- texts, emails, notifications, missed calls, etc. The cell reception is unusually good which I really need because I live in the hills where signals are spotty. The only slightly negative thing is that the keys on the keyboard are a bit small for my big hands (I am 6' 5" tall).

Nothing but a Blackberry
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using Blackberries for nearly 20 years, and would never consider any other device because safety and security of my device matters most to me. Never heard of a Blackberry being hacked into the way Samsung, iPhones or other devices are hacked. That is because of the Blackberry security technology also used by the US government and why Secret Service and other intelligent agencies cannot use any other device. Why would anyone? Security first, because that is what matters most to me. And I have never had a broken screen. And I love the keyboard, and half the price of everyone else.

I love this thing!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this sexy Atomic Red Key2 LE just before Xmas and I am totally loving it. The phone feels very good in the hand. Weight balance is great. Grippy back......and the Keyboard! Wow! So nice to type on a PKB again. Also, the keyboard shortcuts and speed key make multitasking a breeze. There is nothing about this phone that I do not like. I thought the screen size would bother me, but I actually never even think about it. Now to be fair, I do not really watch movies, play games, or snap selfies all day long, although it can certainly do those things, it's just not my typical daily use. My phone is primarily a communication device and work assistant. So if, like me, you need a highly functional work device that can also handle most media sufficiently, I highly recommend a Blackberry Key2 LE. The perfect phone if you appreciate a modern, Android experience combined with a real, physical keyboard and strong security.
