Great upgrade to replace our 20 year old fridge
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We went from a Side by Side model to a French Door version. We have had this fridge for a month now and really like it. Pros: - This fridge is very quiet - There is a lot of storage space both fridge and freezer - You can fit more items on the door shelves on the ice maker side than in other models. - The top freezer shelf pulls all the way out unlike some models. - it is much easier to organize food in the freezer section than it was in our side by side - My wife loves the water bottle fill feature (NOTE: you must watch it, if the bottle has water in it the fill feature will fill the bottle to the very top. We usually just tap the button to stop it) Things to consider - The 500 series isn't as well lit as the 800 series. With that said I have had no issues finding food in it - the water dispenser stream angles to the back and not straight down - the crisper drawer on the ice maker side cant open all the way if the other door is closed, however it opens far enough to where I can get what I need from it - a forth drawer separate from the main fridge for meat and cheeses would be nice to reduce opening both doors but that was only and option in the 800 series which is back ordered and too tall for our space. - When we first got it we stored our food in coolers to let it get to the correct temperature as per Bosch's recommendation. - read the manual there are a ton a refrigeration features for this model. We are definitely happy with our purchase

Great Refrigerator with a few downsides
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, a great refrigerator. The good: Love the level of customization of most settings, including lighting, and ease of making adjustments. This is my first French door, though the appliance footprint is identical to the side by side it replaced, there is more usable space in both refrigerator and freezer. Love the variable shelf, which gives extra space for tall items. The bottle fill feature is great, though I have it set for typical recipe amount rather than water bottle; I don't have a water bottle that would fit in the height of the dispenser cavity. I have an 800 series dishwasher, the stainless finish on this refrigerator is definitely less fingerprint prone and easier to care for. The bad: Ice maker has condensation that drips into top door shelf behind dispenser bump, makes that shelf unusable. Freezer always has a small amount of frost buildup on top inner surface at door; opening and closing top freezer drawer scrapes ice crystals into drawer, inside of main freezer drawer also has small.amount of ice buildup at top edge. Would like to be able to adjust frequency tone for door ajar warnings; I have tinnitus and can't hear it, though everyone else in household can. As long as I have my phone with me I get notification, but I would like to be able to hear it on Occasionally, when changing from cubes to crushed ice will dispense a full glass or more of cubes before crushed starts to dispense. App shows temperature settings but doesn't appear to show actual current temperature. When door is left open for extended period temperature in app still shows set temperature rather than expected lower temperature with door open. Would like to check temperature drop after power restored in case of outage.

Sleek Design but Room for Improvement
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just purchased the new Bosch 500 26 cubic foot refrigerator. I was excited to see they finally came out with a full size. Pros: Love the interior and the see through drawers and shelves, and the stainless steel back. The door shelves are large and fit more than my previous refrigerator. All the drawers roll smoothly and are quiet. The water dispenser is great as it angles back and doesn’t spray. The opening to the dispenser is much taller and will fit a bottle and has a hands free fill. The freezer has lots of storage. Cons: The water/ice dispenser is a little high for kiddos. If you have a home with teens it’s fine but the littles will struggle to reach. The biggest drawback for me is the lack of interior lighting, it looked perfect until I started filling it with groceries. The two side lights just aren't enough, and for the $3000 price tag I would expect more. The top shelves are dark because of this and could use a light above. The ice maker doesn't hold a ton and I was disappointed when it was removed to empty the first batch of ice. It definitely holds more than ice makers that are built into the door, but not as much as others with ice makers built into the refrigerator. It claims to be fingerprint resistant which is not the case. It has a door alarm but it doesn’t work if the door is touching but not closed all they way. It senses the mullion which is the strip that creates a seal when the two doors are closed. The air vents are positioned in inconvenient places and will freeze your food. You definitely need to be strategic when stocking the refrigerator or you’ll end up with frozen eggs. I never paid attention to air vents before and couldn’t tell you where they were placed as this was never an issue. We needed a repair man right after install because one of the doors would not stay open and kept swinging shut while stocking. It’s basically a design flaw according to the repair person. Most doors will stay open until you shut them. If your floor isn’t perfectly level these doors will close. Made in China. I have all Bosch appliances and this was the missing piece. It’s a beautiful appliance but has room for improvement in my opinion.

Broken in less than a year
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ice quit working. Water would not shut off and continued to pour out of the door on the floor of the kitchen. The factory technician has been here 5 times to fix it. Last time he finally fixed the ice and water but put the refrigerator back together improperly so now it won't hold temperature accurately. He did not put the inner back on correctly and the top of the unit now sticks up on one side instead of sitting down flat. The amount of time and money I've lost trying to get this fixed could have bought a new refrigerator and its still broken. The customer service number will not allow you to speak to a supervisor. They take all your information and then never call back. Hey the unit looks nice but their customer service and the actual product both suck.

||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This fridge is amazing! It looks great, works amazingly well and is wifi connected. The wifi connection is clutch, I have a young children who accidentally keeps the doors open, the fridge notifies me after 30 seconds. Ice bin notifications are clutch in addition to an ice well for excess ice is very nice as well. A work of art in my kitchen, im so glad I made the most important appliance of my home the best appliance in my home.

||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We didn't like that it only came in stainless steel. All of our kitchen appliances are black. Solution: we bought vinyl wrap like they use on cars and wrapped the doors. Voila! It matches the kitchen now!

This is a high end refrigerator at a good price.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I never thought I'd be writing a review of a refrigerator, but here we are. This thing is freakin awesome. We replaced a 9 year old 28cu. ft. French door LG with this one and couldn't be happier. Yes, it says that it has less cu. ft. for storage inside but I swear we can fit more food in this one. There are many things to like bout this model (and Bosch in general), but I'm going to highlight what really stands out to me: Running volume - this thing is quiet. Like, extremely quiet by comparison to every fridge I've ever owned. Ice density - the cubes that it produces are more bean shaped than your standard hard-edge crescent and they are DENSE. I fill up a Yeti cup with water on my way out the door each morning and the ice lasts until the end of the day through multiple refills while at work. Ice production speed - we have yet to run out of ice from the dispenser whereas the LG would run out regularly. Water spout - this seems trivial, but it matters. The water dispenser is designed for the water to come out at an angle pointing away from you, thus reducing the amount of water that splashes on you when it gets towards the top. Small detail that goes a long way. Lighting - not only is the lighting bright (but not too bright) it lights up where you need it to but doesn't feel like you've opened up a time-traveling portal when you open the fridge door at night. They also have this really cool fade-to-dark thing they do that is an elegant touch. Smart features - I personally think a "smart fridge" is stupid and over-kill, but Bosch pulls it off in a really subtle and useful way. They have this deep freeze feature where you can essentially tell the fridge from the phone app that you're on the way home from the store and it will get itself REALLY REALLY cold so that when you're loading your groceries in you're not risking all of your food warming to room temperature while you've got it wide open. French doors - the door on the left opens almost effortlessly (takes very little pull to get it to release the air lock and open) which is nice. Its also not necessary to open the left door for the right door to close all the way. The flap has a track that it follows when you close the right side door that guides it into place for the air lock without the need to open the left door. Temperature consistency - probably the most important feature of any fridge. This thing is ridiculously consistent. I've tested both the fridge and freezer and with a fridge thermometer and they are both reliably accurate at all times under almost every usage scenario.

Top-Rated Bosch 500 Series Refrigerator
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I LOVE my new 500 Series Bosch-refrigerator! Everything about it---the design, the ease of use, the style, the space, and the quality of the product---are exceptional! I wondered if the freezer drawer would be too deep and hard to reach the frozen items, but because there is an inner drawer on top of the larger drawer, all the items are very accessible. It was the best overall refrigerator in USA Today's reviews, and they found it kept the best overall temperature of the brands they reviewed. I couldn't be happier! I highly recommend the Bosch refrigerator!

Rubbish product that Bosch doesn’t stand behind
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve used Bosch dishwashers and tools for years with great success. About a year ago, I decided to upgrade my 20-year-old GE Profile refrigerator and purchased a modern Bosch model—a decision I deeply regret. If you’re buying this thinking it will match the quality of their dishwashers, you’re in for a rude awakening. This refrigerator is on par with the poor quality I’d expect from Samsung or LG. First off, this fridge is not quiet at all. It constantly makes humming, whirring, buzzing, and vibrating sounds. If your fridge is near your living room, be prepared for the noise to drive you up the wall. Though I've reluctantly gotten used to the noise, more serious issues soon began to surface. The first major problem was the “E2” error code, which means the ice-maker stops working. Fortunately, the first occurrence happened while the fridge was still under warranty, and a Bosch technician replaced the entire ice maker. However, the issue returned a few months later. I managed to clear it by rebooting the fridge, but it came back a third time. I don’t want a fridge that requires a reboot every 2-3 months. Around the time of the third “E2” error, I noticed water leaking from the freezer seal. Upon opening the freezer, I discovered a sheet of ice about an inch and a half thick. This buildup had clearly been happening for months. I’ve never left the door open (it alerts you if you do), and after breaking up the ice, it was evident that it had formed from dozens of thin layers. This issue had been developing until the ice had nowhere else to go but melt at the seal. This all came to a head seven days outside of the warranty period—just seven days. I called Bosch, hoping they would address these issues out of goodwill since it was so close to the end of the warranty. They gave me no clear answer, only stating that they would “submit it for review” and scheduled a technician visit. The tech rebooted the fridge to fix the “E2” error and confirmed that the ice buildup had been occurring for many months, definitely while it was still under warranty. We only noticed it just outside the warranty period. Despite this, Bosch would not commit to covering the repair costs and kept saying, “We will escalate for review.” I was charged for the visit, and nothing was fixed. The technician even said the ice and the “E2” error would return unless repaired, all within a week or so of the warranty expiration. I emailed Bosch detailing my experience but received no response. I asked if I could get a swap or pay to upgrade to an 800 model—nothing. The promised “review” of the out-of-warranty repairs never happened, and no one has contacted me since. Now I’m stuck with this faulty Bosch fridge that the company itself won’t even address. Lesson learned. Never again will I buy Bosch anything. My 20-year-old, dead silent GE Profile was good enough. Lesson learned.

The French Doors a bit funky....but...
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Our 18 year old LG stopped cooling to the proper temp. Was going to cost over $1,100 to fix so decided on a new product. Stayed away from LG and Samsung due to their ongoing issues with their compressors. Also didn't like the ice maker on our LG. Jammed regularly. Wanted a GE or Whirlpool. This Bosch was available and appeared to have a good rating and reputation. The French Doors close fine but not as solid as I have on a GE that we have as a second refrigerator(at least 20 years old). Have been very pleased with the ice maker(auger delivery) and have had no blockages or problems with the ice dispensing. Overall I'd give this a good 9.5/10, so far. Lighting could be better. Visibility of food overall is good. Door storage is remarkable.

Substantial Refrigerator
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far we are very happy with the Bosch 500 Series. The SS is resistant to fingerprints and unit looks very substantial in the kitchen. The lighting inside the refrigerator and the freezer is good. I do like the app that notifies you if the door is not closed. It does have the warning tone, but if you are in another part of the house the app lets you know on your phone/watch.

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: -Love the design of this new refrigerator! Lots of space! - Love that you can adjust the door holders to fit your needs. - Ice maker is good so far! - And I love the water bottle feature! Frees me up to do something else while waiting for my bottle to fill. -actually is smudge proof and we don’t see all the fingerprints! Cons: -Could use better lighting for top shelves -I have tried MULTIPLE (5) times to reach out to Bosch to set up app. When setting up, they are supposed to send a code, never comes. I waited on phone for representative, then was offered a call back within 29 minutes, never came. Door on fridge has been left open and I need the on the app. Very frustrating.
