    Great speakers

I was told by a lot of people Bose is a high quality speaker. My first experience with Bose was a pair of computer speakers I bought my Freshman year in high school. I pawned them for $20 and the speakers I replaced it never really sounded as good. Really disappointing. When I bought a box and needed speakers I knew I'd go with Bose. These were within my budget and as soon as I heard them I was in heaven. I'm a music major and in my not so humble opinion they replicate a wide variety of genres, or reproduce the sound very accurately. People hate Bose because it's cliche, and they argue they spend money on a marketing campaign which who knows they're a private company. Who knows how much. In my opinion those people don't really know what they're talking about. If these are within your budget buy them. They're loud and I have played cd, apple tv, blu ray, dvd, and vinyl audio through them. Great speakers. As far as setup if you've wired speakers they're not any different than any other speaker you would wire. That section of the review is kind of unnecessary for speakers.

    Fantastic Speakers

The speakers I have are way too big for my bedroom so I looked at the Bookshelf type and listened to all of them. These had the better sound and are better made. My big speakers are Altec Lansing with a slate top so the Bose 201 are a perfect pair for my room. The soud quality is great, the frequency response is excellent and they are easy to plug speaker wire into. I have a Pioneer VSX-918 and after making adjustments, you can hear these things from a low volume to a high volume and still sound clear.

    Great sounding speaker-Bose 201

I have had some different speakers over the years and none of them can compare to the Bose series. I've had the old Altecs, Boston Acoustics, Polk Audio and in my surround sound system, only one speaker sounds so very crisp, the Bose 201. I will now purchase the 301's for my other room, thats a little bigger, so I can crank the stero up a bit and enjoy every minute of it while working around the house. Can't wait for that best buy!

    Overall Good speakers

I was looking for a 2.1 stereo setup for a Panasonic receiver. Finally I had to choose between Bose 201 and Definitive promonitor 1000. At best buy they do not keep these speakers side by side to compare and take a decision which is better. So I had to buy both Bose and definitive to test them at home and keep only one which I like. What I noticed is that the highs and mids are better in definitive where as the base is better in Bose. Also I wanted to check out the fatigue levels of long time listening. At the same treble settling the definitive is sharper, that means that you can lower the treble to match the softness of bose 201. The mids are much better in definitive at the same volume levels. Since I was looking for a speakers which can deliver good highs and mids at very low volumes. I choose to keep the definitive speakers.

The speakers were great over 15 yrs ago but now they're not even sounding like they should with Dolby Atmos and DTS. So the claim that this will be the last speakers you buy is a LIE. They also dont like anything above 100w

I have high expectations for Bose products as they have raised the bar in the past. These did not disappoint. Terrific sound but I'm not so keen on the current design. I'm a bit more conservative and "old skool" when it comes to speaker cabinets.

I had this speakers for over a year now and still going strong. I have them set up in my bedroom where i sometimes listen to classical to relaxation music and the sound is excellent its almost like listening to live music. The higher the volume the clearer the sound. They are perfect. I had them as my front speakers on my surround sound system before i got the Accoustimass and they did a perfect job. The price is not bad for the quality you getting. Best buy has a great return policy so if you want try them but im sure you will keep them.

    All Around Good

Everyone argues if Bose is good or if its just a cult following. Bose has made speakers that I would never want but these are good speakers. I have had speakers from Fisher, Kenwood, Pioneer, Sony, Alpine, Audio Phase, Altec Lansing, and many other brands. There speakers are one of my favorites. They do need a good amplifier and some equalization for full clarity, but if you know your way around audio equipment they are great. I have owned these speakers for 3-4 years and used them for hours everyday and they are still as good as when I got them.

Very pleased with these speakers, I was apprehensive about buying at first and almost bought the Klipsch speakers. I've heard good and bad things about Bose speakers and I have to say these speakers are very very good. Plenty of bass that you can hear and feel, but not overpowering....not boom boom! i would recomend these to anyone.

These Bose 201's are really good speakers. The 301's are better for mid-range, but these are still very good sounding speakers. I actually opted for the 201's because my wife and I need the higher range clarity over the midrange fullness. We have them mounted on the wall as front speakers in a 5.1 surround system and they provide really good sound quality.

You get what you pay for..These speakers sound fantastic...I use the=m as side speakers in a 7.1 setup. Like the other reviews, crank them up, and they perform. Crisp clear and accurate. A great buy

Have good clarity, poor bass. Works well for a bookshelf, but you should probably use it as part of a surround sound system.

The room filling quality of these speakers is the best part. The treble is too accurate, which causes it to sound harsh.
