Best ANC and sound quality, worst everything else
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would give these buds only three stars but the noise canceling and audio quality are nice. As far as microphone goes, it's trash. People constantly on calls tell me they can barely hear me or it sounds like I'm in a bubble.. for a $300 pair of buds, it's very angering. The app that Bose has for these buds is one of the worst apps I've ever used, Sony has a way better app with a lot more customization than you can do on these, if that's something you're into I would recommend the Sony XM4 or XM5, because the app barely has anything that you can do with it. My favorite part of the headphones is the fact that if I want to switch from my tablet to my phone I have to go into the app and actually switch it it doesn't auto switch for you like almost every pair of headphones in the world does now. To be honest, I had a lot of expectations and Bose definitely disappointed. Lastly, the case that it comes in is also ridiculously big compared to everything else on the market. Here's the good news, the sound quality is phenomenal and the noise canceling is honestly some of the best if not the best I've ever used. I considered returning these for the full 2-week period but ended up keeping them due to the fact that I've never had buds have such great active noise canceling. If you're a buds enthusiast these might not be for you, if you're traveling a lot and really just want to focus on blocking out the world around you these might be for you.

Awesome Buds
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would like to start by saying that I have purchased many buds in the past couple years and I've discovered that fit is most important when it comes to getting great sound from buds. When I placed these into my ears and they turned on, it was like the heavens opened up and angels began singing!! I do believe they have the best noise canceling on the market. I also noticed that if these fit properly, they are very hard to pull out due to the reversed rubber catch ring around the bud. You can shake your head and they stay in place. I was hesitating buying these due to the price but I definitely do not regret it! The only downside I can say about these is the app. You would think with such an amazing company they would have put a little more effort. A locator would have been nice as well like Skullcandy.

My Fav
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are my fav noise cancelling ear buds. The quality of sound is amazing, the battery lasts long, and the noise cancelling is pretty good. If you suck at charging your headphones and need noise cancelling to focus get these! I’ve had these for over a year and half and will be replacing them with the same ones once they break or I lose them. My only complaint is the Bose app

Great Noise Canceling, AirPod Pro Better Otherwise
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought these because I needed really great noise canceling, and that aspect is fairly good. - for Droney sorts of background noises, they generally work better than standard 32 dB foam earplugs. For impulse type noises, they do not work as well. - they fit in the ear much better than the first version, but are still too bulky to sleep with. The Apple AirPod Pro fit is my ears much better and are much less bulky. - They don't seem to understand the idea of background music. In fairness, this is an issue on iPhones in general, but even on the lowest volume setting, they are too loud to play background music at a non-disruptive volume. I turned the equalizer is all the way down in the app, but that only helps slightly. - They are a little muddy on telephone calls. Even the first generation AirPod pros produce better sound on phone calls. - The battery life is impressive, and they are much smaller than the first generation. They can at least be carried in a pocket now, but the case is still bigger and bulkier and less comfortable to carry than the AirPod Pro. - Bose, bizarrely, insists on putting the volume to 50% every time they connect. So no matter what your environment was and how you were listening to things, it changes the volume. There is no way to turn this off and it is really annoying. - Their Bluetooth connect tone is very loud and disruptive. - they are advertised as being able to connect to Bose sound bars. I was not able to get it to connect to my Bose smart sound bar 600, despite looking at directions and trying multiple times. - The app for iOS is extremely buggy. It is a struggle to even get it to scroll down screen! I had attempted to use them with the sound bar and other Bose smart speakers, and the groupings rarely held or behaved in a cogent manner. - their app commits what I think is a real abuse: if you allow it to make notifications, it starts hassling you with promotions! Seriously? - Unlike Apple's earbuds, these are only able to maintain a connection to one device at a time. So if you're going back-and-forth between a phone, tablet, or whatever, you have to manually manage the Bluetooth connections. It sounds trivial, but is surprisingly annoying. To summarize all this, my impression is that if noise cancellation is the absolute most important thing, to go with these, but with the understanding that the app is deeply flawed. And that in every other respect, the AirPod pros are superior and provide a better experience. I returned this pair.

Best Wireless Earbuds I’ve Owned…
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I returned by AirPod Pro Gen2 earbuds due to battery-drain issues in one earbud, and purchased the Bose QC II earbuds as a replacement. The active noise cancellation is the best I’ve experienced (compared to AirPod Pro Gen2 and Sony WF-1000MX), and having the custom-fit options are just icing on the cake. Battery life is very good, as well. The only minor downside is an issue with the downloadable app. I struggled with occasional audio dropouts while listening to music via my iPhone, iPad, Garmin watch, etc. until I came across someone’s post suggesting that users keep the app from having access to bluetooth while not using the app. I disabled bluetooth on all my devices that have the app installed, and the audio dropouts went away. My guess is the app is trying to occasionally ping the earbuds in a way that’s somewhat disruptive. Hopefully, Bose will address this issue at some point.

Great sound, OK connectivity
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. They sound great...exactly what you expect from Bose. I've had random connectivity issues (Bluetooth), which I've read about from others, and that just shouldn't happen with a product at this price point. The Bose app allows you to customize some features, but only when it works.

Not Worth $300
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good sound quality, and a stellar fit especially for working out but plagued with some glaring issues. 1. You cannot use the right earbud by itself, but the right has no issues. 2. Hyper aggressive noise canceling, the earbuds seem to overcompensate for loud noises like a car door slamming with extremely loud booming artifacts. 3. I found the Bose app to be unusable with these buds, but I also just lost patience trying to adjust the various modes I would expect more for 300 dollars

Posted .Hello Mason,
I'm happy to see that you're enjoying the great sound quality and fit of the earbuds. The earbuds can be used fully independently, please make sure they are updated through the Bose Music app to firmware version 1.3.26 or later.
The noise-cancelling will work to ensure that loud noises aren't projected through the earbuds while in aware mode. If you're experiencing unexpected sounds as part of noise cancelling then please try the steps here https://bose.life/44OUxkj.
If you need help with the app not controlling the earbuds, try the steps here https://bose.life/3rADJzp to get it work. Of course if you need help with any of this please reach out to us https://bose.life/3rykPZR as we'd love to help.

Quality Earbuds (App Not So Much)
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm a DJ who listens to music 3 hours out of each day. I own the Bowers & Wilkens Pi7 (Best Sounding Buds I Own), Airpod Pro2, Samsung Buds2 Pro, EarFun Air Pro 3, and Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 3 (Second Best Sounding/Most Feature Rich (no spatial audio) Buds I Own. I have a diverse group of earbuds because it helps me tailor the EQs of my mixes for my customer's use. I try to ensure the mix sounds good on most earbuds as my customers don't all use the same device. I purchased the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II for their superior noise cancellation since I also travel a great deal. The sounded great, but the app had so many glitches. Chiefly, the buds would constantly disconnect from the app. This was important to me as using the app helps equalize the bud's tone and switch between devices (they don't have multipoint connection. Additionally, I found putting them into and taking them out of the charging case was a pain sometimes as you must grab them just right. I could get past the lack of wireless charging, a feature I use with all my other buds, but this coupled with the few other minor annoyances for me made me return them.

Great Sound
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great sound, fit and lightweight… the only reason it didn’t get 5 stars is because Bose makes you get the app to use them. So had to download the app on my phone, iPad and laptop.. I don’t like a lot of apps on my phone and devices; but my preference only..

Great headphones, app
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great sound, fast charging. Convenient case. The setting are easy to understand and can make your own sound settings and label them. The app on your phone could be a little bit better. I’ve had problems with the app not finding the headphones and I would have to reconnect to my phone but other than that a perfect buy

Nice
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sound was great. Look was nice . Light weight. Its a great product just not for me. I dont like the fact that you have to download an app to use them. They also didnt stay put in my ears while at work (mechanic) even with the 3 different size fittings. Wish they did work for me because the sound is way better than air pods.

Better than expected
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Reviews said the sound quality was mediocre, i say the bass is punchy, and the volume is super loud. Also, the best ANC in the business. 9/10 product. Only downside is the app.

Its fantastic, BUT
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like these headphones, but there are shortcomings. The app is not finished and it shows, not to mention uf you want to use one earbud, it must be the right one. Bose stated they will eventually add support for solo listening with the left, but that is yet to happen. Otherwise great noise cancelling and easy UI.

||Posted . Unbalanced experience
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sound quality is awesome, but.... The mic is nowhere near the same quality and the app to control the "modes" and the noise canceling level is very finicky. I have to open the app every time i use the headphones to even get the noise canceling level i want to go into effect. I think its pretty stupid that you have to manually select your prefered mode with whatever settings you had set up prior. Especially after already selecting an option to "remember your modes". The quality of life with the software and the customization with the headphones is the only reason for the 3 stars. Outside of that the headphones spund quality is awesome.

Posted .Hello Gavin,
It's great that you love the sound quality of the earbuds. You can switch the modes on the earbuds themselves without needing to open the app, you can press and hold on either earbud to switch the mode. Our guide here https://bose.life/3rfNR0F also has more information on using the modes.
I can see you mention the mic quality not being as you expect, and I am surprised by this. I'd recommend trying out steps here https://bose.life/44TJ2I1 for help with the mic quality. If you do need further help after trying the steps, then of course please reach out https://bose.life/contact as we'd love to help.

5 stars for the sound/NC, 2 stars for the Bose app
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are the best buds I’ve ever used. They put my AirPod pros to shame. I’d give these 5 stars if it weren’t for the Bose app. It’s so bad, I had to knock off a star.

Great sound, below average value
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The noise canceling is absolutely top class and spund of the bose QC earbuds 2 are one of the better options without going higher end brands like master & dynamic or bang and olufsen. I was dissappinted with the newest firmware update of the earbuds that allowed single earbud use.... After repairing the earbuds to your phone anytime you want to use a single earbud. Great for someone who isnt concerned about having an app to tweak sound settings, but there are better options in the higher end space, and better value pairs in the lower end space.

Posted .I'm happy you like the sound of your QuietComfort Earbuds II! The earbuds can be used singularly too, using "Independent Single-Bud Use" on firmware version 1.3.26 or later. Any other connection issues might be resolved by rebooting your mobile device. For further assistance with this - and with the Bose app - please contact our customer support team.
