Sound quality is extremely nice, wish it was more louder but for sure good enough. Had some connection issues though a week later, It was saying it was connected but no sound was coming through and it kept trying to connect to app but wouldnt. Had to double click Bluetooth an hold it for a long time, was very annoying but doesnt happen too often. Gonna replace this pair because of that. Noise cancelling is very good but could be a little better I feel like anyways (I understand they are ear muffs though and I do mow lawns so... still I barely hear the mowers). The battery life is god tier, literally all day I be playing music without it dieing on me very impressive. In love with these for sure!!

In a nutshell, these are fantastic. The noise cancelling is second to none. You pop these on and you get quiet - without the white noise or pressure of other headphones. These work extremely well in that regard. The build quality is excellent - the "leather" is soft and comfortable and the plastics are high-end. The "clamp" does not apply too much pressure, so you can wear it for extended periods without discomfort. Ive had them on for 4-5 hours at once and its always pleasent. The only negative I can list is the volume - it doesnt get as loud as some other options. That said, its a minor gripe.

Thoughts on the QC 45 Ultras

The Bose QC Ultra are very comfortable but I have come across some issues after 2-3 weeks. When adjusting the EQ the overall volume always decreases. In fact the volume just isn’t loud enough across the whole device. iTunes on my computer for some reason plays it much louder than when I’m on my phone playing music. Battery life is okay at 24hrs/ 18hr for immersion mode. Wind reduction is very noticeable so that was cool. Still don’t know if all the little upgrades like immersion, auto play, wind reduction, and the new button layout makes the ultras worth the extra $200 compared to the basic qc 45s. Connection has dropped a few times but not very consistently so a quick reconnect and I usually forget about it. Sometimes the auto play feature kicks in and I don’t realize it or it’ll keep playing music even though the headphones are off my head. Tried using it to play video games but if you have multi point connectivity and someone calls you on your phone mid game it’ll switch over to the phone so kinda got a little annoying for me. Overall sound could be better, neutral tone might just not be for me plus the sound limits are too low, battery life is average, and the connectivity isn’t perfect. I will say though movies and anything focusing on vocals are amazing. The bass rumbling in my ears caught me off guard while watching a movie since it doesn’t usually happen when playing music. Don’t know why that is maybe the movie had a better bass medium or the actually bass chord used was more sensitive to vibrations. Also, can’t leave out the amazing noise cancelling. These headphones are the best at ANC (active notice cancelling). So if you’re a student just looking for headphones to study in the library with these will keep you very focused. Others might not like you though if you have the volume too high because there is a bit of sound leakage. Anyways, I would like to try out a different pair of headphones to compare. I hear the Sony XM5s have a nice bass but comfort goes down with them and the main reason I chose the QC 45 Ultras was for comfort. Maybe I’ll give the regular QC 45s a go and save $200 and just lose the little upgrades. The perfect headphone, in this price range, just might not exist.

Got this from an open box and on sale. They are insane. Extra comfy and great sound quality. I only wish they could get to a louder volume. My only complaint though is that if there's any major vibrations, ie jumping, heavy steps, running, then the sound will cut out and become distorted.

Overall I like these headphones. The noise cancellation is really great and the immersive sound mode really makes it feel like the sounds are happening around you. The sound is clear and crisp. The one con they had was they weren’t as loud as I would have liked them to be. Especially when I am on work calls. They are also a bit on the expensive side compared to the other similar options.

These are good sounding headphones but they could have been better. That said I purchased three other models prior to these that I returned for various reasons. Two of those were more expensive and failed to match the sound quality that these deliver. The third pair were Sony XM5's and they repeatedly dropped the Bluetooth signal. The areas these fall short in are: 1. I wish the volume would go higher. 2. Limited bass response. There is probably another brand out there that can deliver on every aspect, but not on my budget. The most expensive model I tried was the Air Pod Max and the sound quality on the lower mid-range and bass was pathetic (muddy). For me these are the best solution.

Excellent headphones. Sound is fantastic and the EQ can be adjusted in the Bose Music app. Spatialized audio is a bit of a gimmick, but it’s not bad for movies. Noise cancellation is better than anything else I’ve ever used, including Sony’s XM5s. The carrying case is basic but does the job. Only mild complaint is the headphones could be a little louder for max volume, they are somewhat quieter than other headphones. Obviously, noy a big deal when you’re using noise cancelling.

I desperately wanted to like these, though they sound exactly like the QC IIs, unless you are into their dynamic audio. Otherwise, it's a gimmic. If you are used to controlling volume on the headset, good luck with the sensor. It seemed I could with one "swipe", turn the volume too low, or one swipe up to blow my eardrums out. I can't even get my head around this obvious failing. Also, I am not sure what is going on with Bose and their apps and bluetooth. I am currently running a couple qc II, am xm4, and airpod pros. These are by far and above the worst app experience, and that's saying something because apple doesn't even have an app for android. Why is it so hard for the headset to connect to the phone, but so easy for it connect to every other device? It constantly thinks something is streaming, when nothing is playing. Which stops the 2nd device from being able to play. I just turned it on/off 5 times, and had to turn off all other bluetooth devices that were setup, just to get it to connect to it's own app on the phone. I could keep typing, but don't really want to be their QA or UI team. Sadly, I will be returning these unless by some miracle they start working as they should.

It looks very nice but after wearing it for a while I can really feel it digging into my head so definitely returning it. I also wanted something that has a mute mic button for zoom/team's call. This model doesn't support that and the volume slider touch bar is terrible and hard to find. I like the older model of quiet comfort much better than this ultra version.

Hi Ashley, sorry to hear your QuietComfort Ultra Headphones felt uncomfortable, though you did like the look of the Diamond Edition! While it's true that comfort is subjective, these headphones are designed to fit a wide range of customers comfortably. The volume strip is also intended to be easy to operate, and we're sure our customers will love it once they get used to it. Simply swipe up to increase volume or down to decrease it. To quickly increase or decrease the volume, use a long swipe on the volume strip. You can also touch and hold the strip to use your Shortcut. I hope this information is helpful! Hello Rich, thanks for your review.

I am glad to hear you are enjoying the great sound of the QuietComfort Ultra Headphones.

If you aren't getting as much bass as you would like I would suggest using the Bose Music app allows you to use the Headphones Equalizer to adjust the bass level to your preference.

I read alot of reviews about how good these sounded. I was broken between this the momentum 4 and the skull crusher anc 2. So i bought all three of them to make my decision. Highly dissapointed with the bose qc ultra. Im using iphone 15 pro max and the volume for these are atrocious. They are to low. I like loud music so that was the first turn off. Anc is good about the same a little bit better compared to the momentum 4. Crushers anc 2 anc is meh compared to both. Definitely not even close. Bose has the best ambient sound with sennheiser second than crushers. The base on the bose im sorry is complete trash. Senheisser sounded better than the bose in all aspects. Obviously the base is way better on the crushers. But what overall killed it for me was the sound. I gave it 1 stars just because of that. If you like vocals sure knock yourself out. Best build easily are sennheisers than bose than crushers. If you want loud like me stay away from these. I dont know how they sound with android. These are definitely going back.

    Dream Headphones have Skipping Problem

I wanted to love these. These headphones are something I had been aspiring to buy and when I did, I was so excited. Then, I got on the bus with them and the music skipped when the bus went over some bumpy terrain. I thought it was a one off thing, but it happened again. I put on my Sony headphones to test if it was my iPod and no. IT WAS THE HEADPHONES. I then tried them on my laptop and the volume was ridiculously low, even when I tried to turn it up. I have never spent the amount of money I spent on these headphones, despite them being on sale, but the skipping was a dealbreaker

The sound quality is crisp just like all the ither Bose products I have owned. But what I didn't like about this product was the volume level. It's maximum volume is low. I like to listen to my music loud. This headphone's volume does not go high. It may be lower than my AirPod Pro. Didn't like it. Will return it.

      Hey,

I am happy to see that you enjoy the crisp sound quality of the headphones. The volume of the headphones is linked to the source device. I'd recommend checking with different devices, and that you haven't enabled a hearing protection setting that limits overall volume. What a great pair of headphones. I’ve been sticking to wireless earbuds lately because they’re convenient when working out, but you miss out on some sound quality with them. While I still prefer the earbuds at the gym since I have trouble keeping over-the-ear headphones on, this is a great option when I’m not at the gym. Setup was simple with their app, it basically connected the Bluetooth for you and its intuitive to use. There are only 2 buttons on the headset which I appreciate since it makes operation simpler to remember. You can connect two devices at once to the headset via Bluetooth when enabling Multi-point…I have my PC and mobile phone connected at once. I’m really impressed with the auto sleep function. Once you take the headphones off your head, they go into a sleep mode to preserve battery. When you put them back on, they wake up. From my experience so far, they seem to know the difference between being picked up and being put on your head (ears to be exact), so they won’t wake up just by moving them around. Also, if someone tries to talk to you while the headphones are on, if you pick up the right side to listen to them, it pauses audio. This is a nice feature to have, and the sleep function seems to do a good job at preserving battery. So if you use them regularly, you don’t really need to worry about turning them on and off. Now the immersive sound. I have an Atmos gaming headset for my PC games, and have a 5.1.2 Atmos home theater setup, so I definitely appreciate spatial sound. These seem to be on a different level with immersive sound. There are 2 options, Still and Motion. I really like the Still option. The sound moves between the headphones as if a concert is happening in front of you. It also seems to have a much richer sound when enabled. The Motion option is if you are moving, but so far I prefer Still mode. The side of the headphone has a touch sensitive volume slider. Its okay, not great. I’ve had some trouble getting it to change volume at times, and it works well other times. I like to control most of headphone settings from the App since its very easy, and better than trying to remember what buttons does what and how long to hold it, including switch between Immersive profiles. I don’t think anyone would regret getting a pair of these, they really do sound great.

I’m not going to discuss the sound of these because all the audiophiles have already told you all the tech stuff you need to know. I’m a middle-aged woman who splurged and bought these because we have a new puppy in the house and her barking is driving me insane. I thought this would make my life easier and help me through training. I figured I can also use them for the gym. I’ve owned these for 24 hours and with the price point I expected them to be perfect. There is way too much tweaking involved. For instance, when I use them with an iPhone 14, the volume is just not loud enough even though I have it on max. I spent hours on the Internet trying to research how to fix that. When I use them with my MacBook, they are loud. But don’t plan on carrying my MacBook around the gym when I want loud music during a workout. I spent even more time researching how to make them louder when using them with an iPhone and no one on various websites really seems to know the answer to that. I checked the firmware and it’s all up-to-date so that’s not an issue. Nobody should have to research this much information with a brand new pair of headphones at this price. Also, last night I plugged them in expecting a full charge this morning, and after 12 hours of charging, they are still only at 90% which makes no sense to me. I really don’t have the patience to go research this all day on the Internet and find out why they didn’t charge to 100%. So because of lack of ease of use, they are just going back to the store.
