Customers are enthusiastic about the SoundLink Revolve+ II's superb sound quality, impressive portability, and long battery life. Many also appreciate its strong bass response and convenient Bluetooth connectivity. However, some customers expressed concerns about the charging port using a Micro-USB connection instead of USB-C and the relatively high price point. A few mentioned a lack of advanced features compared to similarly priced competitors.

Bose Soundlink
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.great sound, fits in tight places, mobile, blends in well to its environment, shuts off when the phone rings, a little high on the price, but we like it just fine. Bose never disappoints thankfully

Not worth the hassle.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently got the Revolve+ II less than a week ago and boy, I should've saved my money. This whole speaker is a huge disappointment from start to finish. When I first bought it, I was happy to have another Bose portable speaker. My first one I had was far ahead of its time, so I was excited to get my hands on a new model 12 years later. Initially, I enjoyed it but that was pure brand blindness. I was so blinded by it being a Bose, that I didn't realize how bad it was until I really started taking a closer look at it. To start off, I was expecting for this speaker to work in the Bose App as every other product I own from Bose does. It does not. Wasn't too upset about this initially, but when I wanted to I customize my sound and add more bass, that's when I missed it. Which leads me to my next point, it has virtually no bass at all. Normally this wouldn't be a problem if I could adjust a setting to add more but nope, can't do that. Moving past the lackluster bass, the sound doesn't have that Bose touch that's become a sort of midas touch, if you will. When I think Bose, I think crisp and clear audio balanced and engineered perfectly. While it still sounds nice, it's not "Bose nice." Before this, I had a JBL Charge 4 and it doesn't blow the Revolve+ II out of the water, but it is better; if nothing else the fact that it actually has nice bass puts it above the Revolve+ II. In my mind, there's no reason why I should even be comparing JBL to Bose. So just as I'm thinking that it was time to say goodbye to the Revolve+ II I think, "Wait! I can use it to group up with my Smart Speaker 500! That'll be cool!" And it was! You can actually kinda customize the group sounds in the app and how loud each speaker is individually. However, grouping them up that one time was the worst mistake I made and it's the reason I'll be returning my Revolve + II. Every. Single. Time. I turn the Revolve on, it automatically groups up with my Smart Speaker 500. The best part is, there's no way to un-group them in the app. So I have to go into the app and un-group them every time I power my speaker on. To be fair, there are a couple things this speaker does well. Pros: -speaker and phone connection is instantaneous when powered on. -the buttons are inside crevices and there are raised indentations on one of the buttons, that really helps in the dark. -they included a handle. This makes it much easier to carry. -the handle isn't a hard rigid material, it's like a stiff mesh rope. I didn't think I'd like it but they do it well. -the speaker can get really loud if you want it to. -it has an auxiliary port, a rare find these days. -being able to group it with another Bose is cool for the first time you use it. However it's shortcomings far outweigh its strengths. -very user unfriendly (no app control, and contestant grouping to another speaker every time it's turned on) -sound quality is decent but definitely not up to par with the Bose brand, in my opinion. -no decent bass, borderline none at all. -the top of the speaker's material feels cheap. I get that it's supposed to withstand impact better, but that kinda leads me to my next point... -it's easy to tip over. The way it's designed causes it to be top heavy. They've done their best with weighing down the bottom, but it's still easy to accidentally tip it over. Which leads me to my next point... -it's a relatively heavy speaker. I mean it's not gonna weigh you down if you pack it up in a bag of some sort but I wouldn't feel comfortable carrying it by hand without using the handle. - I personally am not a fan of the design. The whole 360° sound thing seems like more of a gimmick than a selling point. In my opinion, it causes some of the sound clarity and crispness to be lost. -it still uses a micro-USB rather than a type C. I know this one is more subjective but I feel like when I pay for a Bose, I should get cutting edge technology. Micro-USB is starting to fade out, so it feels old. -there's no kind of splash protection around the charging port or auxiliary port. I know that doesn't necessarily go with Bose's design style of sleek and smooth, but I feel like it'd be a nice touch. I can't speak for everyone but I like to use my Bluetooth speakers for when I shower. It doesn't put my mind at ease knowing there's no type of water guard on the charging port. I know better than to actually put it in the shower with me but with all that steam in the air, over time that may cause problems that'll occur coincidentally just outside the warranty dates. Relatively minor thing, but that's what I pay a premium for: the minor things. -my final and biggest complaint is that it's overpriced. This doesn't feel like a Bose product, but my wallet definitely felt it. Why would I spend $350 on a speaker when it has this many shortcomings? That was one of my complaints with the Smart Speaker 500, was that I felt like I was paying for a name. It was worth it for the Smart Speaker 500, but it's not even close for the Revolve+ II. I can get better sound and better element protection from a $150 speaker over this $350 speaker. In conclusion, if you're reading this, just don't buy it. Save yourself the time and money and go get something else, you'll thank me later. However, I am going to give Bose another shot at redemption. I'll be promptly returning this and getting the Portable Smart Speaker for about $80 more. I'll be sure to review that as well.

Posted .Hey there,
I'm sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the performance of the SoundLink Revolve + II and have decided to return it.
Just to make you aware, the SoundLink Revolve + II is able to connect to the Bose Connect application which allows some personalisation of the settings.
Thanks!

Good & Great!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.it works and with clear sound quality. it is very pricy, but bose does have the "smoothest" sound quality out there, although it is technically not "studio" sound quality. =)

Great sound all around

They allow us to bring room-filling sound with us wherever we go, unencumbered by wires or the need for an electrical outlet. I’m also a big fan of Bose products, and they’ve been filling my life with music for over 30 years now. I’ve been using one of the small portable Bluetooth speakers for a while now (unfortunately, not a Bose), but I wanted something with bigger sound, which is why I got the Revolve+. This is the second iteration of the Revolve+, but I do not have the first, so I can’t compare. My understanding is that the water resistance is improved, and they’ve added an option to purchase a charging dock (this is not included in the box). I like the idea of being able to have this speaker by the pool and not have to worry about it getting splashed, so improving water and dust resistance is a good thing. Pros: • Does a good job of reproducing tones across the spectrum, with clean, clear highs, solid mid-range, and full, rich bass. While not a lot bigger than my other Bluetooth speaker, the Revolve+ II puts out much fuller sound, with bass that isn’t muddy or unclear. That’s maybe the best feature of the Revolve+: it hits the sweet spot between too much and too little bass. The sound remains good throughout the full range of loudness, and doesn’t distort even at maximum volume. • Nice rubber on the top and bottom, providing drop protection and making it easy to hold, even when wet. • Easy to pair with Bluetooth devices, but still includes a 3.5 mm input jack. Nice touch! • Bose thoughtfully included a screw-mount for attaching the Revolve+ II to a tripod. This could be handy at a party. • Built-in handle is sturdy and comfortable. This is meant to be taken with you! • Sounds great in all directions, not just the spot directly in front of the speaker. Putting it close to a wall enhances the sound even more. • Great battery life. • Call quality using the built-in microphone is better than expected. Cons: • The Bose Connect app. I’m not sure this is really a con, but it’s not a plus, so I’ll list it here. The app is used for delivering firmware updates (VERY slowly) and managing connections and setting up party mode, but not much beyond that. In addition, Bose is following the path of many other manufacturers by requiring separate apps depending upon whether you have a Bluetooth speaker, headphones, or other equipment. I currently have Bose headphones, Bose Frames, and now the portable speaker. Why can’t I control all aspects of these devices in a single app? It's a minor point, but one I thought I’d mention. • No ability to change and save EQ settings. • Could be a little louder. • A little expensive. It’s a wonderful speaker, but it would be even better at a good sale price. • Still using micro USB to charge. Why are they still doing this? The Bose NC700 headphones use USB-C, as should this speaker. Not a deal-breaker, but disappointing nonetheless. The Bose Revolve+ II portable Bluetooth speaker sounds better than any other that I’ve owned. The quality is top-notch, without any visible seams in the aluminum casing. It looks and sounds great! Well built, rugged and water/dust resistant, this speaker is designed to go where you go. I’m very happy to have this one.

Once again, Bose came out with something that has great quality! Here are some pros & cons to consider: *Disclaimer: Just a reminder: this is a portable Bluetooth speaker; not a full sound system. Pros: ⁃ great sound quality (just the right amount of bass; mids & highs are clear) ⁃ sound quality still great even on high levels ⁃ Light enough to enjoy bringing it everywhere ⁃ Sleek, sophisticated, & simple design ⁃ true 360 degrees sound ⁃ it can connect with other compatible devices as a party mode or as L&R speakers Cons: ⁃ a little pricy for a Bluetooth speaker ⁃ it’s hard to wipe the dirt off the body Again, Bose came out with a great product. If you’re really itching to buy a Bluetooth speaker, I’d save just a bit more so I can get this one.
