I did not get these speakers for my home entertainment system, I got them for basically an over sized jet ski. They are cheap, but for that cheap price they sound surprisingly good. I did not buy high end speakers because these are exposed to the elements, fish guts, salt water spray. I hose down the boat after every adventure. They seem to be up to the task. No they do not sound like JL's but do you want to spend $300 for skiff speakers? I love to fish/dive/play in the ocean and if they go a year, I will gladly buy another pair. Only issue is they are a little bigger than the 6.5" speakers I replaced and I had to do a little cutting to the console they are mounted in, no problem for me but if you are afraid to take a jig saw to your boat, might want to match the size with other speakers. For the price, cant go wrong, after a dive I can relax to some music and cruise back knowing I did not overspend for some speakers that on any day I could trash accidentally just by having some fun. This is one of those "cant loose" things, if you don't like them, you really did not spend a lot in the first place.

These are very good speakers. Very loud! I build cooler stereos and these speakers are perfect for all your outdoor adventures. And just like the cooler, you don't have to worry about them getting wet. Didn't give them 5 stars because speaker wire isn't included.

I build waterproof sound systems for atv's and utv's. I needed great sound for a low price just in case of a damaged or blown speaker I didn't want to keep paying out $60 to $150 for new speakers. I have put these speakers through their paces, loud music, heavy rain, daily washing with a garden hose and also completely submerging them in creeks and mud holes but have yet to break the originals. I have recommended to friends and every customer. Awesome quality for a low price, great product will order more.

I'm building a 16' center console flat bottom, I bought these speakers without hearing them. I was pleasantly surprised with the sound. I have a 200 watt receiver suppling power(50 watts per channel). I haven't used them out on the water yet, but from what I can tell so far, they'll be just fine for the price.

Generally speaking, I am willing to pay a few extra bucks for quality and extra durability. However, in marine radios and speakers I have found that the high end stuff does not last longer, nor is it really all that much better. My boat initially Kenwood kfc-1652mrw speakers. They actually sounded pretty good for their size, but lacked any punch on the low end. It was time to replace them, so this time I went with something that hopefully had more bass. These Boss speakers have a larger magnet and the cone seems larger, so I gave them a shot. Installation is pretty straightforward, and you shouldnt have any surprises there. The speakers seem good enough to last in the marine environment. These needed a bigger cutout then the Kenwoods they replaced, but really not a big deal for me. Overall, I am happy with the sound. The sound is not as good as the Kenwoods, but good enough. The Boss speakers do have way more low end grunt, but less mid and high. The Kenwoods also sound clearer at all volume levels, and sound was consistent even at high volume levels. It seems the Boss need a higher volume setting before you can really start to hear them. The mid volume range was good. At high volume, they do get a bit distorted. But, this was only really a problem near maximum volume. Overall, I am happy with the product. If they last me 3 years, I will consider this a great deal and buy them again. I would never buy Boss for my car, but in a boating setting where they will get wet, salt, blood and guts, etc., they are fine.

I bought these to replace my old dry rotted speakers in my boat. Unfortunately when i installed, the grills didnt fit very well for my boat design, so I had to order a different set of speakers with different grills. They did have great sound though. But like I said, the grills just did'nt fit right on my boat.

I bought these for our new boat. Fit perfectly into the space for the old speakers. They sound great. Don't know how they will hold up, but love them so far!

These sound great. Just buy them because you will be happy. Good sound at all levels.

These speakers really push out some great sound and are very durable which is essential for a marine situation.

If you are looking for decent quality marine speakers, but do not want to pay a lot, I would recommend these speakers.

love them 100s less than my jl audio sound amazing will definitely do it again its so worth every penny.

So much better then my old speakers. A lot of bass, but thats because of where they are in the boat.

Boss Marine speakers handle my Kenwood stereo very good

These are some solid speakers! Replaced my external speakers on my RV and these worked out great. Good sound.

I plan on installing in my 1997 boat. Replacing close to a 20 year old system will make it a five star. Price for these was great!
