Customers are saying

Customers praise the 'A Bit More 4-Slice Long-Slot Toaster' for its long slots that accommodate various bread types, even toasting on all sides, and its ability to handle bagels well. They also appreciate its user-friendly design, great quality, and attractive appearance. However, some customers find it to be more expensive than average and a bit larger than desired. There have also been a few complaints about durability and instances of the toaster stopping to function properly after some time.

This toaster is great because you can put the long pieces of bread to toast. Like sub rolls. It doesn’t dry out the toast like my toaster oven does. It fits on the counter nicely either length wise or vertical to save room. It’s dial is located on the front and is adjustable.

    From Belle to Breville

I originally had a Belle because I didn't want to spend a lot on a toaster. However, it didn't make the toast how I liked it. I ended up not using it as much and selling it. My husband convinced me to get toaster. I love the "a bit more" setting. I have made bagels and toast in the Breville. I love it. It also looks nice in my counter top. I am not a fan of the counter top accessories. However, I use this so often. It only makes sense to give it a permanent home on the counter. I've had this item a little over a month and use it almost daily. I highly recommend this product.

After researching many different models out there, it became obvious that Breville was the way to go. This is a very consistent machine that never fails to turn out the correct cooking amount desired. We very rarely get a toaster that actually cooks the RIGHT amount without having to constantly check on it. You won't be disappointed if you buy this toaster!

3.5 Stars would be my choice because the heating coils do not cover the entire length of the slots; there is a solid divider between each side, making long pieces toasted on each end, not the center. Toasting similar to a four slice toaster, but with long slot instead of four slots. Not exactly what I had in mind, but it works... except for that one strip in the center that won't be toasted on long slices!

There are 2 long slots, each holds 2 slices. Except only small slices fit. The white sliced bread we buy seems to be too large to fit. Common supermarket butter top bread. Overlapped areas don’t toast at all. See photo.

Nice for odd-shaped and long slices, BUT...

I, like many others, grew tired of the old cheepo toasters that keep on failing, and set out to buy the highest quality, and best, toaster I could find, and this $100 one was it. It's fancy, it's stainless, it's huge because we like to buy odd and different than standard shaped bread, and to be honest, it really works great. We use it once a day for breakfast, and that's it; this toaster has a very easy life in my house. BUT: a few days ago it was simply dead; no lights, nothing, just DEAD. I checked everything that you can, like the plug, but it was definitely the toaster that died. Since I bought it more than a year ago, and the warranty is only for a year, I decided to not simply throw it, but open it to see if I can see anything on the inside. Maybe a bread-crumb induced short or something. It was a mission to open the thing (there are secret screws UNDERNEATH the little rubber feet) but I eventually managed to open it, and you won't believe what I found: This state-of-the-art $100 toaster had a FUSE that was MOUNTED ONTO THE LITTLE CIRCUIT BOARD!! So, not one you can easily replace, like you'd expect from high dollar appliances... And it was a tiny 500mA fuse. I had to cut it off the board, soldered extension wires to the little wire legs, and install my own fuse holder on the OUTSIDE of the toaster, so that in the future, you can simply swap a fuse if it ever blows again, something I think was caused by a power spike. I am really surprised and very disappointed that the fuse was so hard to fix, and be honest, for the most part, most people won't even bother. I think throwing away a $100 toaster is not an option, so either get an extended warranty, or be prepared to do what I did. See the photos how I had to install the fuse holder. Other than that, it does what it's supposed to do: toast bread.

Number one: The crust gets burned the center of bread isn't toasted Number two: The A Bit More feature set off the smoke alarms and burned the toast so bad it almost caught fire. Other then that I looks nice...on its way back to Best Buyl

Disgusting. Received an extremely used toaster with crumbs in it still and cockroaches in it. No quality control apparently and their resolution is 10% off. What a slap in the face.

Went down and looked at it at Best Buy, I liked how well it is built for this time and age, I did compare on line the other Breville toasters and this one had most watt power, I wanted a toaster that left your toast hot from toaster to being buttered like back in the day and this toaster scored on that, I put 2 slices of bread in one on each side opposite ends it toasted great. It also. Has a little lift meaning if your bread slice is a bit short you lift the toast handle up and grab your toast you don't need to stick a stick in to get your toast and no burnt fingers a nice perk. Some one wrote that it didn't toast evenly when bread was put in the middle I didn't try that because it is a 4 slice toaster and the inside toasting wires are set up for 1 threw 4 slices and I personally wouldn't expect it to toast. Works just ask Breville states. I feel it may last long enough to hand down as an heirloom. I also like the idea that it is long instead of square it will fit in my cabinets better. Oh yes you know when it is on or ready for more after toasting because the red light aka sliding toast setting is lit up, when the lite is off it is still ready to go. Photo on left has me using the extra lift so you see more of the bread. (Love it)

This Breville long-slot toaster is the second Breville appliance we have purchased in less than a year. Its design is well thought out, with controls on the front, “a little bit more” toasting capability, long and wide slots that can hold all sorts of breads, English muffins and bagels, and a unique finger hole to make the plug easy to pull out of the socket. Plus, it looks great on the counter. The only issue I have is that the toast hardly rises above the top of the toaster. If you have long, skinny bread slices, you need something to get the toast out of the toaster. This Breville toaster is worth the price, and I expect to use it for a long time.

Breville is a brand I have never heard of until I bought their highly recommended Juicer. 5 years and that juicer is still juicing great. They have reasonably priced replacement parts too when you break them. Well the toaster should last as long. Only had it for month in a half and works as advertised. Its bigger then most and the slots are great for the variety of bread that we like. Toaster is a higher powered one and gets really hot on top. Cool sides. Heavy duty cord 3 prong. Love the little bit more button well worth the money for the european quality you get.

It's taken me a little too long to find a toaster that actually toasts. After several days of researching toasters and trips buy and returning, this is a pretty cool toaster. I mean, I just wanted a toaster that toasts, doesn't look cheap and is decent price wise. Though, I should have bought this in the first place because Breville hasn't given me a reason to dislike them. Anyways, this toaster is a little on the big side, but you can adjust your toastness with a knob, it's not 1-5 or 1-10 it shows you with a light where you want it. As it's toasting you can tell how much time you have left. So far, so good.

Love this toaster. Breville is a brand that has always impressed me. I love how I can easily toast basic sliced bread as well as wider, artisan style bread without having to cram the slices in or toast only one end at a time. Also love the “a bit more” feature. Just hit it and it gives just that- a bit more toasting without overdoing it. Has a nice crumb tray that slides out the bottom, making cleaning super easy. Really nice toaster.

This toaster makes a mean toast! The slider controls make getting the perfect toast a breeze! The oversized openings are great for artisan bread which tends to be bigger than normal bread. The little bit more button is perfect for that added toastiness! One minor complaint are pop tarts being smaller have a tendency to fall through to the bottom of not placed on the center holder, and even then it’s a little tricky. I found myself turning the toaster on its side for easy removal of said pop tart.

We love this toaster! We had a Breville Toaster Oven and it's been great. We recently purchased a new kitchen suite so didn't really need the toaster oven any more - opted for a pop-up instead. The large slots allow for all different sizes of bread. From bagels to waffles to homemade breads, everything comes out evenly toasted. We love the slimness of it as well - more counter space!
