A great all in one machine!

The first chewed its main grinding gear up due to bad beans. Could be solved by not using a cheap plastic main gear…..especially for the cost of this item. Cosmetic issue with this item: the top on the older model was stainless steel are now plastic! Functionally the grinder takes some trial and error. Always do a test press just encase someone did a grind and walked away! Power button of the system is on the opposite side of the system compared to the older models so that has been another annoying factor. Go to hit a double shot and turn the system off……. Other than those minor issue so far the system is working great.

Amazing Machine.

The only thing is the grinder gets stuck at times. The automatic grinder feature does not really help, I have to press the grinder button few times to get to the actual amount of ground code then push down the tamp handle. In addition, the automatic button to make voffe has to be press twice to get the best of the ground coffee.

great product but many upgrades are still needed

The auto tamp feature is awesome because it prevents mess but the sensor doesn't always detect when its been tamped and it regularly overfills. never was able to figure out the manual dose feature. wastes alot of water before steam begins. removing the grinder parts to maintain and fix is way too dificult and needs to be re-engineered.

Would not recommend

The grinder system broke, the bolt came loose and fell into the grinding area, and after spending several hours on the phone with customer service, we ultimately had to send it in to be repaired. After receiving it back, 3 weeks later it has broken again. We haven’t even owned it for a full 6 months yet. Really surprised and disappointed in the quality of this machine, particularly given the cost and others good ratings.

Can’t Use Dark Beans?

The grinder kept getting jammed so I called support and was told not to use dark beans due to the amount of oil. Couple of things on that… the beans I were using weren’t super oily. Also, for a $900 machine you would think it would be able to handle dark roasted beans! Other than that, my wife and I really enjoy it. We use it every day.

Posted .You may use almost any beans you wish. However, the more oil content the bean has, the more frequent cleaning that will need to be done. One can be as diligent as possible about brushing/vacuuming the grinder and grind chute, but depending on the oil content of your beans, oils can remain. Those can cause grinds to clog the chute, or can gum up the burrs or chute.

Worst purchase

I am two months into my initial purchase, and I have already gotten a factory replacement from Breville because the grinder stopped working after a day of use. While the replacement machine seemed fine and functional the first night, the grinder stopped working again the next morning, exhibiting the same issues (loud noise as if something became loose in the machine; grinder is unfixable even after thorough cleaning the the vacuum) which Breville themselves deemed to be manufacturing defect. Please, save yourself the headache and avoid this machine. BestBuy was also extremely unhelpful and refuse to assist me.
