VERY WEAK WATERED DOWN LATTES

The first two lattes we made were great every other drink after have been absolutely horrible. Adjusted settings several times and have tried just about everything and it’s still a horrible machine. Lattes are 70% water and very very weak!!! Extremely complicated to use. I DO NOT RECOMMEND

Not user friendly

I would like to make a decent cup of coffee. I have made over a dozen and none were drinkable. I would be willing to learn but I would like to at least have a good cup of coffee while I am learning. Unless you have a great deal of time to learn this machine or already have the knowledge I would not recommend it. I am returning it

Well ,half dead on arrival

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought, set it up, won't turn on - unplugged it - now it's on ,made a few cups ,turned it off ,few hours later - it won't turn on - unplagged it from outlet again, made 1 cup ,turned it off - won't turn on - on the third day called customer support they just told me to returned it to the store cause lady on the phone didn't had any idea what's going on Not the quality you want for $800, returning and buying something else

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got my machine 1 month ago. I've had so many issues with it. - hot water is not hot! It's just lukewarm. my americanos come out at 145 F on average. I can just drink the whole glass at once because it's not hot. I tried warming everything up by running the machine once without coffee, but not a whole lot difference. The highest I ever got to was 150 F. - The automatic frothing (which is the whole reason I got this machine) is miserably broken. It only gives me a watery milk at the bottom, and lots of bubbles and foam over the top. None of that silky milk texture that you need in order to have a proper latte. Take a look at he photos, this is as good as the automatic frothing of the milk gets. - The group head is misplaced and a little too high, I have to fill my portafilter with 22 grams of coffee (rather than 18) to have a proper puck. My friend got the same machine 2 weeks after this, and he doesn't have these issues. His americano is at 170 degrees, milk is always silky, and pucks are filled with exactly 18 grams of coffee. I have contacted them, but I haven't felt the support that I was hoping for yet. We will be doing a video chat with the support to see if things can be fixed. I have a lot of Breville products and I considered them the best. But this experience has changed my mind and I think I'll have to switch to another brand.

Inconsistent pour, not hot enough.

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First of all I think I got a used machine, because when I opened it the filter basket was already attached to the portafilter, I saw some unboxing videos on youtube and doesnt look like thats how it should be. Getting to the machine itself, I decided to by this because a friend suggested Breville - the Barista Express Espresso as he has that for years and its perfect, and I thought this would be a good upgrade from that machine. Apparently not, some other reviews have already mentioned that coffee is not hot enough, I had the same issue, the espresso shot isnt hot enough to have it by itself, even after I warm the cup. Americanos arent hot enough either and even after adding milk, it was fine for summer days, for a cold winter day I dont think that would be hot enough and your cappuccino or latte will be cold in few mins, definitely before you can finish, unless you chug. Now this might be because of my inexperience with making espresso, but with same coffee beans, same grind amount and coarseness the pour time varied by more than a few seconds, it might be that I tampered differently, so this might not actually be an issue, but I noticed this quite often after trying to be consistent with tampering. Overall definitely not happy with the machine, returned it. I was really hoping for this to be good as I like the automated features of milk temperature and coffee selection, nice touch screen, for someone who likes gadgets and love coffee this would have been a great addition.

Not good and costumer service is no help

After all, I saved a LONG time to be able to purchase one (mom of 3 daughters here) and after all my research convinced my husband THIS is the one I wanted and how I thought it would be worth the investment. Sadly I have to say this is a HUGE disappointment!! I first got it April of 2021 in black truffle. Quickly the machine as much as I have tweaked every setting possible etc. kept leaving really wet pucks & making inconsistent shots, then it started not turning on and making a weird beeping sound instead, lastly the black finish was not sealed well because just from hand washing the tray with a soft no scrub sponge it kept getting chipped off just with warm water & soap?! forget brushing anything against it at all it just chips, it looked like I’ve had it for years after only a few months. We searched over & over on the Best Buy website and months later we’re finally able to exchange it because they finally had one in stock! Well, the one we exchanged for the screen display is messed up, can’t save any of my preferences because the key board doesn’t work!! As well as this particular machine each thing I’m trying to click I have to try 1,2 or 3 times because the screen display is messed up (my last machine was sensitive and I only had to barely touch each thing) one of the reasons I went with this one and NOT the $699 breville espresso maker is because of the touch screen I thought was neat But it doesn’t work! Now just a few weeks later it is not turning on right away and makes the same beep noise the last one started making. There doesn’t seem to be a machine at any of the surrounding stores or neighboring states near us so I cannot exchange it. My husband called Breville costumer service and they were not only rude (walking him through the trouble shooting and putting it back to factory settings) which was surprising?! We searched over & over on the Best Buy website and months later we’re finally able to exchange it because they finally had one in stock! Well, the one we exchanged for the screen display is messed up, can’t save any of my preferences because the key board doesn’t work! As well as this particular machine each thing I’m trying to click I have to try 1,2 or 3 times because the screen display is messed up (my last machine was sensitive and I only had to barely touch each thing) Now just a few weeks later it is not turning on right away and makes the same beep noise the last one started making. Amazing product, terrible customer service

Apparently, you only have 15 days to have your item price matched, as opposed to plenty of other stores where the time period is a month or more. We purchased this 18 days ago at full price, only for it to go on sale for a whopping $200 off today. We tried to get a price match, but the policy says we're three days overdue and no one will help get us anything back — not even a store credit. I was told I can purchase a "Best Buy Plus" membership to extend this period to 60 days on future purchases, which is insane. I won't be doing that. Again, great product that I HIGHLY recommend, but I would not buy it from Best Buy...

Broke after 3 months, shipped in original box

One day it started to make loud noise and stopped brewing completely the next day. I have descaled twice and nothing works. Contacted Breville (wait time over one hour for every call) for an exchange of machine but was told that they are out of stock for the next 3 weeks. Delivery was also bad as it was shipped in the original box and box was half damaged by the time it arrived. Overall, it has been a very negative experience given the price of this machine.

Not worth the price tag, cheap plastic parts.

Espresso was too watery or too dark / bitter, no matter what grind settings we tried. After wasting so much coffee beans, water and milk, we returned it for a refund. Last but not least, most of the coffee maker parts were built with cheap plastic. Not worth the $799 price tag.

Don’t buy

My cheaper $150 espresso machine brewed better coffee on it. Their support is good but spent a lot of time on it. I’d rather buy this through a different retailer who has 30 day return window than being stuck with a 14 day return window on BestBuy. At least I’d be able to return. Unfortunately, I missed my return window in going back and forth with Breville customer support.

Faulty Design, Poor Quality, Overpriced

Error code ER05, related to a faulty milk temperature sensor. With the device and ingredients, this thing costs about $6 per drink. Go to Pete's and save yourself time and money!

Great until it isn’t

First one we bought didn’t work after setting everything up. It would only grind a tiny amount of beans and realized the grinder was faulty. We returned it no issues with Best Buy and was able to exchange it for one that worked great…until it didn’t. We’ve had it two months and noticed it wasn’t producing enough pressure for an espresso. And the suddenly….the same grinding issues as the first machine. Now it’s out of its return window and I have to go through Breville directly. I love Breville but this has just been a disaster of a machine from day 1.

Disappointed

It takes a great amount of my strength to get the portafilter to its proper position. The entire machine moves as I try to turn it into position. I think there is a defect in the unit Best Buy sent me. There are times too when the filter remains stuck in the machine. I plan to return it. Really disappointed they would sent a defective product to one their Best Buy Elite customers.

After about one year of use it gives up even with top care and maintenance and only using good quality filtered water. The first time it broke it wouldn't start anymore. the second one lost water pressure and doesn't brew, or froth. Buy it if you want to have it for a few months or a year only. It will break down when you least expect it.

Lasted 6 months!!! Breville Barista Touch
