Purchased this because I was tired of always running out of my inkjet printer ink, or having it dry up if I went a long time between used. Brother has a good reputation with its laser printers, so I pulled the trigger on this one. I couldn't be happier! I set it up for wireless use, it was very easy to do, and I was using within 10 minutes. It has worked flawlessly from day 1. I use a MacBook Air, an iPad, and an iPhone. I can print from any of those when connected to my wifi at home. The print quality is fanatastic (it's laser, not that horrible inkjet crud). It prints fast and can do both sides. Lastly, the printers footprint is really compact. See the attached photos -- one is with my HP Deskjet 3755, which is quite small. I plug that one in if I need to color print or scan a document. The Brother takes center stage though, as it's a workhorse. Overall I give this purchase 5 out of 5. I can't believe I waited so long to get one. One of the best purchases I made this year.

Review of the Brothers HO-L2370DW b&w laser printer. This is my first Networked Brother laser printer. My last home laser printer was a Networked HP2100 that lasted me almost 20 years and it was a 2nd-hand printer when I got it. I love the size of this printer. My HP was bigger easily twice as tall although it did have two paper trays versus the single tray on this Brother. I did like having the ability to have different colored stock in the 2nd tray already on hand. One nice thing about the larger HP printer was when I had to fix something on it or remove a really bad paper jam, there was enough room to get my hands into it. I have my reservations about the manual tray. Even at the store, I didn't like the design of the manual feed tray. It has a tiny area of paper support which I guess they felt was sufficient since they only support up to 1 sheet at a time. When inserting an 8-1/2 x 11" sheet, about half (5.5") goes into the printer with the remainder just hanging down. I purchased the printer already knowing this. I have not tested envelopes since all my current ones use a "peel and stick" method for sealing and I don't want to take the chance of it peeling off inside the printer. The Brothers printer only has support of PCL6 which should be fine for most people. It has no Post Script emulation which helps to keep the price down (they don't have to pay a license fee to Adobe). Even office Xerox printers started to remove PS emulation to save the customer some money and very few customers would pay for it unless they had an application that needed it. Brothers site says it has resolutions of 600x600 dpi, 2400 x 600 dpi and 1200 x 1200 dpi. From Notepad it shows 300, 600, HQ 1200 and 1200 dpi. From a web page, the options from the printer driver only shows 300, 600 and 1200 dpi (missing HQ). From Photoshop the Brothers driver shows me 300, 600, HQ 1200 and 1200 dpi. It doesn't tell you what HQ 1200 is versus 1200 dpi. The HQ is a special enhancement mode that gives you "1200 dpi - like" quality while not giving you true 1200 dpi thus supposedly faster printing. In Photoshop changing the print setting from "text" to "graphics" made a huge difference when printing a test color picture so don't forget to make that change if you print a picture. The text mode washed out the picture so much that I thought I ran out of ink. Switching to graphics made the picture extremely dark (and probably cost me a ton of normal prints due to wasted ink). Switching to "manual" and adjusting the brightness and contrast helped but I could not find any setting that I liked as there as a lot of banding. When I switch to the built in Windows Photo Viewer it allowed me to pick 300, 600 or 1200 dpi (no HQ 1200). However, going into the 'option...' and 'printer properties...' it brought up the same dialog box that I saw in Photoshop. It also had the HQ 1200 option. I again changed the Print Setting to Manual and adjusted the brightness and contrast as I did in Photoshop and the results were VERY different. The banding was gone. I still could not get a satisfactory print in the half-tones but it was still better then the half-tones when printing directly from Photoshop. I also switched back and forth from Photoshop to Windows Photo Viewer several times and the banding always returned when printing from Photoshop even though I used the Brothers Printer Driver in both. The Brother printer drive does have an option for using the Printer or Systems half-tones. I've always preferred to use the Printers (which is what all my testing has been with) when available but may try the System Halftone options. The thing holding me back with the System halftone settings are there are so many options. There are 19 halftone patters to choose from plus settings for Device Gamma, Pixel Diameter and Luminance. That's a lot of testing combinations using the stock ink cartridge. When my backup ink arrives I may test the options. My HP's resolution was 1920 x 1080 and supported Post Script and the halftones looked better on that 20+ year old printer. I know that is not intended to be used as a photo printer. I use it (and my prior HP) to do basic proofing before taking my b&w pictures to a shop. Everything I do I for personal use or to give away but I still want it to look nice. I hate the lcd display. My printer is at the back edge of a table which puts the lcd screen about 26" away from the front of the tables edge. Even after adjusting the lcd contrast and leaning over the table it is still very hard to read. The lcd screen points straight up. Having it at an angle would have been so much better. Setting it up as a Network printer was not obvious. I had to google it and find that I needed to download, install and use Brothers BRAdmin Light utility. I also discovered BRAdmin Professional to get even more advanced machine management. This is actually a really nice utility as you don't have to use the tiny lcd display. You can make changes on your monitor and "send" the changes to the printer.

I needed a printer to have on hand for random documents here and there. I can gladly say that this little printer has don't the job well. I love that I can print straight from my phone or MacBook without needing to connect a cable or anything. Being a laser printer is also a huge plus for me since I don't feel pressured to use the ink or anything like that. Highly recommend this to anyone who needs to print black and white documents every now and again. For comparison here is my old printer.

This printer was easy to set up and print extremely quickly compared to my previous inkjet printers. My family of five uses this to print on almost every day, and is a great value for the money.

I got this printer cause I am about to start Grad School. I needed a printer that fast fast and efficient. This was the best choice. I was fairly easy to install. The hardest part was getting used to the buttons and small screen to set the WiFi and settings but once I got that in I used the IP address from the printer and change the setting using the computer. It prints quick and the resolution is perfect. The toners are affordable and I think they can be refilled (as seen on YouTube videos). The printer is compact and fits in small areas. You can use letter paper, legal, envelops....

My sister has this printer and told me she loves it because it's just what she needed—an easy to use, compact, B&W printer that's compatible with her PC and able to print double sided pages. I bought one for myself and I love it because it's just what I needed—an easy to use, compact, B&W printer that's compatible with my MacBook Air, and able to print double sided pages. Our octogenarian dad needed a new printer, so we got one for him. Guess what? He loves it because it's just what he needed—an easy to use, compact, B&W printer that's compatible with his Dell PC and able to print double sided pages.

Excellent machinery. Very fast printing and prints with ease. I picked this out for my wife. Setup was a breeze for me. Once set up it prints fast and no waiting forever to print one page out like my old one. My wife studies online right now. So when she needs to print something fast. This is the printer is for her. Does the job and she loves it.

Brother wireless Black and white printer is one I recomend. My color printer was just not doing the job. It was using way too much ink. This Brother printer makes my papers look professional and the ink seems to last forever. It is quick and I don't have to stop and refill paper as often as I did my old one. If you need a Black and White printer that stands up to the best Brother HL-L2370DW is the one to choose.

The Brother printer is so silent when it prints you would be amazed. It is very efficient in ink. The Laser printing is easy to read and high quality. Truly is one of the best buys of 2019.

Works great! Indicator showed we needed new toner about a year later. And it takes some getting used to not having color print. But I’m happy not to always have to express those expensive cartridges!

This printer is very reasonable cost efficient on ink because it only uses black. It's a great printer using the Wi-Fi from across the house two and a half rooms away. It's very small so it fits in any size bedroom or living room office or dorm room. I recommend this. I also recommend picking up the Best buy warranty it is the best and very reasonable price. This is my second printer.

I love Brother, so I knew I'd love this printer. My issue is with the toner that it comes with. It says that you can get about 700 prints with the included toner cartridge, but I only got 483 copies before it told me I couldn't print any more. That's quite a difference from 700! Do better, Brother.
