The Brother HL-L2480DW is a good choice for a home or small office printer, offering fast print speeds, reliable performance, and a compact footprint for a laser printer. While it has a few minor drawbacks, its overall value and ease of use make it a good option for most users. Set-up is very easy; just take it out of the box, place the cartridge, connect it, turn it on and download the app. From the app you can establish the wifi connection. In less than 5 minutes, after firmware updates, it was ready to go. This is my first laser printer and I can say that I’ve been impressed with its performance so far. This printer boasts up to 34 pages per minute printing, which is significantly faster than all the inkjet printers I’ve ever owned. I was able to print out multi-page documents in seconds. This was a real time saver for me. Setting up the printer on my Wi-Fi network was a breeze, and printing from my laptop or phone was seamless and I haven't experienced any dropped connections or printing delays. It’s compatible with WiFi direct, Google Print and AirPrint. What impressed me the most was the laser technology that delivers sharp, crisp professional-looking prints and clear black and white graphics and even high-resolution photos which make this printer perfect for business documents and reports. The printer also includes scanning and copying functions in addition to printing, making it a versatile tool for everyday tasks. The scanner worked well for digitizing documents and photos, and the copies were of great quality. I also liked the intuitive color touchscreen that makes it easy to navigate menus, adjust settings, and even preview documents before printing. There’s an eco option that automatically saves paper and time by printing on both sides of the page. I tried it with a 20-page document and it did it quite fast. And speaking of printing, the included toner cartridge lasts for thousands of pages, reducing the need for frequent replacements. All this and it is surprisingly small for its capabilities, making it a good fit for cramped desks or home offices. It also looks sleek and modern, which is a plus. About the drawbacks, this printer is monochrome and while the print quality for black and white is superb, it is not ideal for those who need color printing. And for an office environment, the absence of an automatic document feeder can be a bit time-consuming for larger projects, requiring manually feeding each page when scanning or copying multi-page documents. Also, the basic scanner and copier functionalities are adequate for everyday tasks but might not be sufficient for advanced users. Lastly, while the initial toner cartridge lasts a long time, replacement cartridges can be expensive. If you use a high volume of paper consistently, it's worth factoring in the ongoing cost of toner before purchasing this printer. In my opinion, the Brother HL-L2480DW is a good choice for people who need a fast, reliable, and affordable black and white laser printer for home or small office use. While it has a few limitations, I believe that its strengths outweigh its weaknesses. The high-speed printing, excellent quality, and convenient 3-in-1 functionality make it a great value for the price.

The Brother - HL-L2480DW Wireless Black-and-White 3-in-1 Laser Printer is very easy to set up. I requested this item because I am a CPA and I need high production laser printers to print my tax returns at a quick pace. While this is not the quickest laser printer on the market, for the price it does a fine job. Just as importantly, I am 64 years old and a sole proprietor. Therefore, I do not have an army or even 1 IT person on staff so the ease of set up and integration into my practice and office is of the utmost priority to me. That being said, the set up was easy peasy and connection to Wi-Fi no big deal. The manufacturer does provide a quick set-up guide that takes you from A to Z with a sequence of events on how to pull it out of the box, to where there is removable tape that keeps parts immobile during shipping and warehousing until purchase and use by the buyer, to how to put in the toner cartridge, plug-in to the electrical source, etc. They then reference an online user's manual if needed. One thing that I do find irritating is that there was a paper that said there was an extended warranty period of 6 months, but in Canada only, if you register for the Brother Care Program. Hey Brother, why not the same for the good old USA buyers, too? The 3 in 1 functions are print, copy, and scan which has not always been normal for laser printers. I am not sure if there is auto doc feeder for this model or not, but if so, that would be preferential, especially for the scan feature. Overall, I think that for this price, the printing quality and 21 ppm pace is reasonable. By the way, there are numerous mobile apps that allow you to register your Brother printing machine for remote and smartphone printing, just go to the App store for either the Apple or Google Playstore.

My work requires alot of printing, so we actually go through quite a bit of printers here. I got this little guy and I am very happy. Will try to keep the review short and to the point. The small footprint and wireless capabilities means you can put this almost anywhere where you have wifi. We have a storage unit, complete concrete, and we still get wifi in there so that's where we store this guy and it works great. The set up is easy, it's a quick, intuitive set up process; remove all the plastics that's clearly labeled, download the app on your smartphone, follow instructions on app to connect to wifi, done. The printer scans, copies and prints. I think there's no explicit label that says the unit actually scans in color. It prints in monochrome/black and white, but the scanned documents are in color. It's something small and subtle but worth noting, as you can send it to your computer or send it to another printer that prints in color. It was quite nice to scan my children's coloring book, then have them paint on it on the ipad. The prints itself are very crisp. I'm not so sure about the images that comes out, the dithering/unequal greys were a little disappointing, but the text itself are very sharp edges and crisp. So I would say this is a great printer for printing quick documents and in quick succession. Overall would highly recommend.

Pros: Excellent quality printed documents. I like the options for printing and scanning and that you can email scanned documents right from the printer. The main control screen is well lit and clear for reading and navigating. Paper and toner loading are both easy. Cons: When printing over wifi, have to go to the machine and click on “Recover WLAN” if the printer hasn’t been in immediate use. I find this frustrating: I would rather that my computer or phine sending info to the printer wakes it up. Instead, I must physically walk to the printer and click on Recover WLAN. Also, the app did not work for me - maybe the app would wake it up? Still...should wake upon being pinged with info on the network. I followed all instructions on the app, registered the device, tried 3 times and never got that to work. I have an iPhone, latest OS. Finally, while the center menu is clear and well lit, the side menu for "Home" "Go back" and "Stop" has no backlighting at all. It is often impossible to read without an overhead light. I wish Brother had simply backlit the whole menu. Odd design choice, decreases functionality. Overall, mostly happy. Print quality is carrying the happiness load - really is excellent.
