Awesome features but a bit bulky and slow
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Last week I received the Brother MFC-L3770CDW Color laser printer for my home office. I have used several other MFC (multi-function color) printers before – both Laser and Ink Jet, and was excited to give this one a try as I’ve been having scanning-to-pc connectivity issues with another popular brand recently. The first thing you notice is the size and weight of this unit. It weighs in at 54 lbs. and is roughly a 16”x20”x16” cube. You’ll need ample space and a study table or counter top to place this machine. Setup was a smooth and easy. Unpack, remove all the shipping tape and tabs, install the toner, attach to the wireless network and BOOM – you’re printing. Mine detected a software update within the first 5 minutes and quickly downloaded/installed it. The 3.7” LCD display is intuitive and easy to use – and also informed me of that software update. I installed the full Brother Utilities software on my desktop computer from the freshly downloaded nearly 500MB file and let everything be setup as default. The printer has NFC features for the Android phones, but the iPhone I have doesn’t support that. Never fear – the AirPrint capabilities worked flawlessly – and allowed me to print out pictures with no trouble at all! A couple things I really like about the printer include: 1. A large paper source tray with the ability to handle Legal paper as well 2. The multi-sheet document feeder on top – which has worked well with my test stack of 20 pages – some with folds in them. It is able to handle 50 pages at a time! 3. The Duplex scanning features – and the scan to PC worked great on the first attempt – a big plus as compared to other MFC’s I’ve used in the past. 4. The 30 sheet multi-purpose paper tray – works great for using special paper without having to switch stock out of the normal 250 sheet paper tray. 5. To copy or scan pages from a book or magazine, the document feeder lifts up about an inch or so to accommodate the thickness of the object – a nice feature! A couple things that surprised me about the printer: 1. It seems a bit slow to start printing – usually between 10-15 seconds. I know that doesn’t seem long - but when I hit the print button I want the printer to start making noises and printing right away. 2. I printed the same color document test page on this Brother MFC Laser device and also to my own MFC Inkjet Printer. Yes I’m aware that it is not a true comparison – but I feel the Ink Jet printer did a better job rendering the colors and took less time overall for what it’s worth. Overall – this is an excellent MFC device that will work well in a home office or small office with multiple users. The toner cartridges are rated at over 1000 pages each – and are individually replaced as needed. It’s very quiet and with the duplex features, automatic document feeders and integration with most major cloud document servers – you can’t go wrong. I gave 4 stars vs 5 only due to the relatively slower start-print time and slightly less distinct prints as compared to my MFC ink-jet.

Great features. Love cloud service options
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great features. 25 page per minute (for both color and black in white) printing is quite impressive. Air printing and NFC printing from mobile devices are big plus. Device has 3,7” touch screen color screen which was very helpful for setup (like joining networks, typing passwords or adding email accounts to the device) and any other everyday use. I especially like scanning features – option to scan to some of the many available cloud services (OneNote, OneDrive, Dropbox, Google Drive, Box, Evernote), to your computer, USB drive, network location, FTP, SharePoint, mobile device or to email address it’s very helpful. So many options that it makes hard to decide which one to use. Device also has feature which checks for new firmware and let you know when as soon as firmware update is available. Device has secure printing which is not feature I saw before. Copier has good coping options such as 2 sided copy, 2 in 1 (for both regular size document and ID), receipt and some other options which really makes this device very useful for everyday use. For fax I would just say - standard as they come. I would highly recommend this device for small business offices. Because of two things I listed under the “cons” I will must lover my review for one star. Pros: All in one (Fax, Printer, Scanner and copier) Laser device Air printing NFC printing Advanced scanning options High quality printing jobs Auto update Cloud and email services Cons: Weight - I find this device way too heavy for its size Toners and drum – currently very limited availability and pricey

Very nice MFC Printer! Pleased with my purchase
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had a couple of Brother printers previously. I had an older Black/White MFC that would probably be about 20 years old now. I was using that printer up until the end of 2022 and it still worked great. I moved and left that printer and a Brother color laser behind. I was always very pleased with the Brother B/W MFC but I was not that pleased with the Brother color laser printer. It generally worked but it would occasionally error with a very strange error that could never be resolved but a power off and power on fixed it. I found that it would also not come out of sleep all of the time. I did a lot of research before deciding to buy this Brother color laser and, so far, I have been very pleased and have not experienced any of the problems that I experienced with the previous Brother color laser. While I have not done much printing, it has worked flawlessly from Windows, macOS, and Linux. I have also used the scanner a few times. Scanning to USB works great also. The only reason that I am giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is that I have not had the printer that long and have not printed more than, at most, a couple of dozen pages.

Great features and functions well
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Prints, scans and copies very well. Brother app makes printing from phones and tablets easy. We have 3 of these units in our office but we use the HP Neverstop to print because of the cost of toner refill. The expensive ink is the only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars.

Mostly pleased with it.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Automatic duplex printing and scanning is fantastic. However, the scanner mechanism squeaks annoyingly as it operates. Also. when printing multi-page PDFs, there is a long delay between pages, so that what should be a one minute print job is a 5 or 10 minute ordeal. There is no delay when copying something, so I know it prints pretty fast, and the PDFs are coming via USB from a new Dell XPS computer. Whats up with that?

Good Printer
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a good all in one. Easy to set up & prints are crisp. I wish it was easier to go from one paper size to another without hassle. It seems like there are settings but I still have to manually pull the tray 1 out to change paper. The front tray wasn't consistently grabbing the legal size paper through, it kept grabbing the letter size paper in tray 1 even though I set the front (M tray) for legal.

Love it so far... except it goes offline
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Everything about this printer is great. It was really easy to get set up. It is super fast at printing in black and white and in color. The only issue I've had is that it goes offline all the time. I have to turn it off and back on to get it to print wirelessly again. It's really annoying. I feel like there's probably an easy fix to this. I've just not had time to check it out. I just got this printer a couple of weeks ago. I've had a few other brother printers in the past in my office that worked great, and that's why I chose to go with another one.

Overall Very Good Printer
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Rec'd this last weekend and so far it's very good. Very quiet and fairly fast although I thought it would be faster. All functions are easy to use and work as intended. Print quality is excellent in both black and white and color. I was even surprised at how good the color photos printed. I had one issue trying to figure out how to get duplex scans to go to one file rather than multiple files. I ended up calling Brother customer service and after a 10 minute hold I got a guy who was rather curt and borderline rude but he did point me to the right fix which is setting the file type to PDF in the iPrint/Scan utility. So overall I'm happy with it. Toner is a major downside as it's very costly. I tried some EZink from Amazon just to see if it worked. The printer saw it fine but it left blue streaks on the page so I returned it. When the starter cartridges near empty I'll try some other 3rd party brands to see if I can avoid that big price tag on OEM toner. Given some of the negative reviews, I opted for the Best Buy 4 year replacement policy just in case!

Very good all-in-one printer!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After reading the reviews on this printer it’s lived up to the good things said about it. I purchased the printer basically for the scanning feature. It has surpassed my expectations; especially scanning to the USB port! And the printer is really good as well. However, I have noticed that there are quite a few updates from Brother which can be annoying. It’s also a bit larger than expected but I would not trade it!

Good printer good buy good value, not too big
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great laser printer, works as expected, doesn't make too much noise. All the features and functionalities are great I can upload directly to Google cloud or other cloud services I can print by sending the email directly to the printer as well. It only works off of 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi frequency, it will not work on a 5 GHz band. I'm glad I purchase this printer.

Good Printer for Small Office or Individual Needs
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a good printer for a small office or for individual needs. It is easy to set up, easy to use, and prints and scans fast and in high quality. The interface is super slick and has a simplified, user-friendly menu that doesn't overwhelm. I like the ability to set up custom shortcuts and to see ink levels at a glance. Colors are crisp and professional. I will get most of my use out of this printer from scanning documents, and this printer makes scanning a breeze. You can scan with the document feeder or with the glass section, and the scanning is fast, which is a huge benefit when you have a volume of work to do. The printer even handles double-sided scan jobs very well and does not sacrifice speed for that feature. You can scan in multiple resolutions and you can set up shortcuts with preset configurations. This printer is much, much better than my old one! The one flaw I have noticed is that while the document feeder scans documents quickly, the documents tend to come out crooked, which for someone with self-diagnosed OCD like myself, is no bueno. Use the glass section if you need the document to be straight and perfect, but know that it will take a bit longer. Also, I think the printer is a bit overpriced at $399. I got mine on sale at $369, and that is much closer to the true value of this machine. Overall, though, if you need something simple and reliable, you will be satisfied with this printer.

Brother color printer
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The setup was very easy. Printing is fast, the color is perfect. I love this machine. I was able to setup wireless printing with out any issues. The only drawback for me is, the printer is heavy and required my grandson's assistance. This is a large unit and will be perfect for my small business.

Great Printer!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This printer was easy to set up and is easy to use. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that I am still having some wireless connectivity issue and have not yet had time to call the company to try to resolve this. The printing quality is fantastic! I think I will be happy that I made this investment.

Great printer! Difficult setup.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We upgraded to a laser printer for our home office. The only reason I did not rate the product as 5 stars was the set up was complicated by the duplexing feature (printing on both sides of the paper). Duplex is the default setting. If you want to only print on one side of the paper, you must change it from duplex to one-sided before every print job. You would think that the solution would be in preferences. It is buried deep in the print menu. It took two days of trouble shooting with Geek Squad and chatting with Brother to solve the problem. Geek Squad offered to escalate me to some obscure level for a few. Brother told me that the printer was not supported by Apple’s OS Big Sur. That wasn’t true. I solved the problem on my own.

Great printer with diverse capabilities
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like the printer - it’s a little slower that I thought it would be, but it produces nice, colorful pictures, includes mobile printing over wifi, and can scan to a drive. I have not experienced replenishing ink yet, so I am curious how that process will be. So far so good.
