We decided to purchase this $4k Cafe induction range with dual ovens because it was pretty much the only product on the market that checks these boxes. We bought it from Best Buy in September when there was a sale on appliances including free Best Buy gift cards. We were in the middle of our kitchen remodel and didn't install it until mid-December. The induction stovetop works well, it heats up our pans quickly, although it's a bit noisy. On medium-high heat or above, the induction burners sound like industrial transformers. I guess that's because, basically, they are. Anyway, we were disappointed to find out that the oven was faulty from the factory. After a few minutes of trying to preheat, it shuts off and issues an error code that says "Fault 350 Set", which is not a very logical message. Thanks, GE. We arranged a repair technician through the GE website, which was easy enough, but his diagnosis called for three parts, and one of them is on backorder until February. That's absolutely infuriating, to put it nicely. I wish we had tried the oven within 30 days of purchasing it, so we could have returned it. I might've purchased a different range and been cooking a pizza right now, but no... maybe after Christmas, and New Years, and the Super Bowl, and Valentine's Day. I'll think twice before dropping this kind of money on an appliance ever again, especially a GE. I could've lived with a different range, I mean a really nice one, and had thousands of dollars left over. That's hard to swallow.

This is definitely a high end splurge, and worth every penny. I'm totally impressed with the induction cooktop, boils water lightning fast and there's no need for an air fryer since the bottom oven has it built in through the convection setting. And did I mention the WiFi and app, lets you know when the oven is finished preheating, how long your dish been cooking and so much more!

This range looks beautiful and worked great for a week. After a week, the stove stopped pre-heating and would trip something internally to make it cycle its power and shut off. This now happens anytime we try to pre-heat. We are returning this stove for another brand.

I love my new range! The induction cooktop is great and so easy to keep clean. I cook a lot so bought the double ovens. They are smaller than the wall ovens I was used to, but sufficient for most of my cooking. Highly recommend this range.

We looked for almost 2 years for a double oven induction range. In black there were very few options and the price point on this one is on the high side so we were hesitant. It is worth every penny and more! Incredible temperature control on the cooktop. The oven preheats quickly and enjoy the wifi function and even the Alexa capability. Never thought we'd tell Alexa to preheat our lower oven! Convenient, easy to use, and operates as we had hoped. Couldn't be happier!

Every time we cook with this, there is a burning smell that puts our Dyson air purifier in overdrive. The bottom oven is also very slow to heat. Cooktop also stains easily.

Overall I am very happy with this range, but I'm not sure I would have chosen precisely this model if I'd understood what I was getting. Pros: I cook a lot, and have made a whole bunch of things in the ovens. They work very well. They hold a very consistent temperature. The Air Fryer feature is one I didn't think I cared about, because it is really nice. It heats up slices of pizza faster and better than my toaster oven. I've used it for a variety of crispy foods and it has been terrific. The burners heat up very quickly and hold a consistent temperature. The ovens heat up the kitchen less than other ovens I've owned. It is extremely easy to clean. I use a flat bottom wok on it and that has worked very well. Cons: I live in California, in a house built in the mid-80s for gas appliances. We decided we wanted to switch to induction. Figuring out what electrical work I needed to have this in my kitchen was stupidly difficult. The spot for the range in my house is almost as far as possible from the electric box, so it cost almost $2k to get the work done. The electricians followed the instructions in the manual and left things ready for installers to hard wire the range in. The installers came and told me that was stupid, obviously it needed a plug. I showed them the part of the manual the electricians referred to. They said well, okay, the built in team installers could hard wire it. The built in installers came. They said they don't do ranges, ever, under any circumstances. They said get an outlet. The electricians came back and put in an outlet. The installers came back and plugged it in. (The install was more complicated than that.) Basically the information available about what you need to switch from gas to induction is pretty impossible to follow, even when paying professionals to help. It is hard for GE to write the documentation because it does depend a great deal on what is in your home today, but they could do a much, much, much, much better job, and I would have had my range weeks earlier. It was clear to me that in this area, there still haven't been many gas to induction conversions. I thought I'd waited long enough to not be on the bleeding edge, but I was wrong. The other two things that I think GE miscommunicates about: Yes, this range has 5 burners. One is not really a burner, though, it is a warming spot. My family says it has a candle underneath it. The manual says this burner is not for heating things up, just for keeping something hot hot. One of the big reasons I bought this range was for a fifth burner, so I do feel like I was misled. Obviously I could have read the manual before purchasing, but surprise surprise, I did not. There are places where this range is listed as having 4 burners, but the photos clearly show 5, and I foolishly believed my eyes. I did spend some time chatting with Best Buy to find the range I wanted, and I do think I was talking to some old version of Chat GPT, as the recommendations were really bad based on the requirements I had. The two burners on the left that you can control together for a griddle - that's just two burners. The griddle does not heat evenly across them. I purchased the Made In carbon steel griddle, and it is worth using, but there's absolutely a very cool zone in the middle that you can't really use.

We appreciate your honest feedback on your range! We're thrilled hearing that the ovens are maintaining a consistent temperature and that the air fryer has exceeded your expectations. It is unfortunate that you didn't have the best installation experience and we regret the confusion on the burners. We're always searching for ways to improve and will share this with our team to prevent future confusion. Thank you for bringing this to our attention and please let us know if you need anything moving forward. cafe_appliances

    Best Stove EVer!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I wanted to use it for a few weeks before I rated it so I could really take it through its paces before rating it. This is not my first induction stove. I had a Samsung for 8 years before I got this one. I loved my Samsung Induction stove, but this one totally blows it right out of the water!! This is the best stove ever!! First, let’s start at the top: The cooktop. A lot of induction stoves have four burners laid out as 1-1-2, with one large burner, one medium, and two small ones. This one has 1-2-1, with one large burner, 2 medium, and one small one. Plus the two medium burners are 8 inches, not 7, and they can be bridged together to act as one long burner for a griddle. That combination burner is controlled by one single knob. Also, the burners are so powerful that I find I have to cook on a much lower setting than I was used to with the Samsung. The only time I ever get close to the ‘High’ setting is for boiling water. The cooktop controls are located on the front of the stove, and I was initially concerned about that. I have a special-needs child who may or may not be able to resist the shiny knobs. However, the “Control Lock” feature locks out all control including the cooktop. Excellent safety feature! Another nice feature the stove has is a setting called ‘Precision Cooking.’ That feature lets you use the Bluetooth-enabled Hestan Cue Smart Cookware or a Bluetooth-enabled Sous-Vide probe for precision cooking. The Hestan Cue allows the pan to control the cooktop for temperature, and the app controls the pan. The app also tells you exactly when to start cooking, if and when to flip or stir, and when to take it off the heat. My two-sentence review of the Hestan Pan is this: If you are not a good cook, it’s an excellent feature because if you follow the instructions to the letter, the results will be perfect. (But you have to follow the instructions correctly!) But if you are already a good cook, it feels a little like training wheels. I’ve used it a few times with perfect results, but the pan just told me to do what I would have done anyway. I have not yet used the Sous-vide probe. The addition of Precision Cooking is a great feature. Both the Hestan Cue Pan and the Sous-Vide probe are available separately, although GE might offer them as a promotion. That is how I got mine. The stove has two real ovens, and both are convection. The preheat time is incredible! The first time I used the oven, I thought it was defective, thinking, ‘There’s no way that oven has preheated that fast!’ But it was correct. Plus the ovens have a couple of nifty features like settings for frozen pizza and frozen snacks. There are also warming settings for both ovens, eliminating the need for a separate warming drawer. Add in timed cooking and delayed start, and you have a complete cook’s oven. You can also adjust the base temperature for accuracy. So for example, if your oven says it’s 400 degrees, but a trusted thermometer shows 395 degrees, you can adjust the oven thermostat to match. Also, the oven is so well insulated that I feel virtually no radiant heat when even both ovens are in use. It’s almost a little unnerving to approach what seems to be a cool oven, and open it up to 400 degrees! Alexa! Preheat the lower oven to 400 degrees! The stove connects to Wi-Fi and is controllable via Alexa. I know that many new stoves have that feature, and let me tell you… It’s cool as all get-out! It’s also convenient, like when you’re wrist-deep into a recipe and you remember you need to get the oven going. Just say it out loud and Alexa will take it from there. Also, a nice touch is that if you have the Control Lock on, using the app or Alexa bypasses the control lock, but lets it stay in place for touch. All induction stoves make noise. Let me say that again: ALL INDUCTION STOVES MAKE NOISE. These stoves aren’t just electric. They’re electronic. The circuitry that makes them work needs to be kept cool, and remember that a stove’s job is to make things hot. So, there are fans. If you’re cooking a big meal, using 3 or 4 burners plus the oven or ovens, you might hear the fan running for an hour or more after you finish cooking. This is perfectly normal. That being said, I have noticed that, compared to the Samsung this one is much quieter, and the fans don’t seem to run as long. But it is an induction range, there will be a fan, so stop freaking out about it. It’s the price we pay for the magic of cooking in a cool kitchen and not sweating yourself sick. For as good as this stove is, and it’s incredibly good, nothing’s perfect. So here are my little, well not exactly cons; let’s call them pet peeves: The stove is a little too quiet. The Samsung made a sound when you turn a burner on or off. This one stays mum. Also, while the timer is nice to have, the sound it makes is too soft. Same for the ‘Oven is Preheated’ sound. On the other hand, I have the Café app on my phone and tablet, and that notification seems to work just fine. Plus it makes the phone vibrate, so that's a nice touch as well. I wish there was a light indicating which burners are on or hot. There is only one red LED. And finally, the other reason I keep the Control Lock on is, when I reach into my Over-The-Range microwave, my belly sometimes turns on the display, attempting to start an oven. Don’t judge me. I have a sign in my kitchen that says, “Never Trust A Skinny Cook!” I’m quite trustworthy! In summary, this is absolutely the very best stove I have ever used in my life, bar none. If you are world-class, competition-level chef, buy this stove. If you are a decent -to-good cook with some excellent recipes and a happy, well-fed family, buy this stove. If you meticulously read and re-read the instructions for boiling water, buy this stove. Whatever level you are, it’ll make you a better cook. It does everything it promises with flair. Plus, it looks AMAZING! Everyone who has come over has been impressed. It has tons of “OOHH-FACTOR”. And everything I have made on it has come our absolutely perfect. (Okay, I did use too much salt in that one steak, but that’s not the stove’s fault!) But otherwise, it was cooked perfectly!

This range does everything my wife can ask of a range. The induction is fast and cooks' things fast. The two ovens cook evenly, and the self-timer is such a help. It carries a high cost but worth every cent now that we've had a chance to us it.

Where has this stove been all my life?! I love induction cooking with this stove. You may have heard that induction burners can be noisy. You can barely hear when this is on. Water boils so quickly you have to watch it so your food doesn't boil over. Takes getting used to, but well worth the money. The look of this stove is beautiful. It looks very professional. Built very heavy with very thick handles and heavy duty controls. Love that it connects to my smart phone so I can keep an eye on what's going on in the oven. I had to wait almost two years for someone to get this range in stock. So happy I didn't move on to my second choice.

We have been very happy with our new induction stove and double oven. Only negative is there is a stainless steel piece in front of the burners and it scratches easily. Other than that we have been very happy. We are new to induction hit so far we love it. It’s also looks and feels very high end.

Love the inductive range top and the fact we have two ovens….so heating less space for majority of our day to day needs, then have the ability to bake two different items at different temps. The smaller top oven is also an air fryer….however, we have to connect it to Wi-Fi in order to use it.

The GE Cafe Double Oven Induction stove top range is the best oven I’ve ever used. This is the second time we’ve purchased this having left the last one with our previous house. We quickly realized you can’t go back to any other model. We’ve even come to prefer the induction over a gas range with the exception of cooking on a wok but that can be done on the propane grill. If you’re considering this model do it, you won’t be disappointed.

So far so good, still getting used to the differences between this and the old Jenn-Air. Top oven heats up quickly and works great. Top surface easy to keep clean. The rear spacer bracket was difficult to get mounted, the self tapping screws would not go in the holes and I had to enlarge thee holes a little. There is no manual with the oven which must be retrieved online. The control panel is not the most intuitive and somewhat cumbersome but it works.

I’m very happy with the induction double oven in white. I don’t normally like white appliances but it is a soft creamy white and looks good with my maple cabinets. It’s very easy to clean and the slide out rails on the lower oven is a bonus feature. It does take a little bit of time getting used to the burner settings. Too low and it doesn’t seem to do much so I’m usually hovering around medium whenever I cook. High definitely boils quickly. Overall, I’m very satisfied and would recommend it to others.

We've had it for a couple of weeks and she is completely happy with the purchase. The cooktop heats so quickly. The double oven is really great, too. We did have to replace a few pots and pans because they were not compatible with induction, but we had done the research and expected that.
