Great and Reliable Printer!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have always used inkjet printers. For the common household, it makes sense, they are cheap, print what you need when you need them, and they are usually smaller in size. But there is a caveat, many inkjets aren’t too reliable. I’ve had a couple and what ends up happening to them is the usual ink drying up if the printer sits for too long. Laser printers solve this problem, you won’t have to rely on ink drying up since laser printers use toner cartridges. Furthermore, laser printers have better print quality and printing speeds. I have been using Canon’s M753Cdw laser printer for the past couple of days and in this review, I will lay down my thoughts and my answer to whether you should upgrade from an inkjet to a laser printer. *TLDR at the bottom ========= IN THE BOX/SET-UP: In the box, you get the MF753Cdw laser printer, power cable, telephone cable, DVD-ROM, setup guide, and some paperwork. Note that there is no USB cable included. The printer is heavy so do get some help taking it out of the box if you can. Setup should not take too long if you have set up a printer before. The part that was a bit frustrating was taking off the million pieces of tape on every inch of this printer but if you can get through that, the rest should be a cruise. Canon does give you several options to set up this printer. The options are wired LAN, wireless LAN, and DVD-ROM. I decided to go with the wired LAN option. I plugged my patch cable into the appropriate areas and made sure the printer had an IP address by checking the status monitor located on the screen. I then decided to install the printer manually through Windows “Add Printer” IPP device wizard to avoid the bloated software. But luckily, I later noticed that I didn’t need to do that initially since Canon printers don’t arrive with bloated software in the first place, unlike some other companies... Anyways, as for the drivers, I was able to install some generic ones from the wizard and the printer was successfully set up! ========= PRINTING AND OTHER FEATURES: I want to first say that this printer does have many features, way too many to list here but I will list some of the notable ones. If you are looking for high-quality prints for your word documents, excel sheets, or internet pictures, this printer will provide you with that and along with that, quick printing. I didn’t get to print pages equivalent to an entire thesis but according to Canon, this printer provides up to 36ppm(pages-per-minute) which is certainly quicker than all the printers I have owned. Another notable feature is the ability to print a variety of paper sizes and media. From envelopes, pamphlets, banners, posters, and more. This is seriously useful for those who are in a small office. Scanning is also available with this printer. Scanning can be done from the computer or if you lack a USB cable, it can be done from a USB drive, email, or a shared folder on the network. The printer even can save the file in various file formats like PDFs and JPEGs. One of the nicer features of this printer is the small colored LCD touchscreen. This touchscreen is easy to navigate and anything can be done from here. From making copies, scans, Fax, accessing the file server, tweaking network settings, and general settings. Canon also offers the Remote UI feature which is essentially a remote way to access the printer’s settings from your browser. Remote UI does contain plenty of advanced settings if you need them. I can go on and on about the myriad of features this printer has to offer but I would just bore you. If you are interested in seeing all the features of this laser printer, Canon’s website does offer a user guide. Simply Google the model number followed by the words “user guide.” ========= PRINT QUALITY AND COST: In terms of quality, all I can say is you won’t be disappointed. Everything I printed from documents to pictures were all crisp and clear. This laser printer offers some serious high-quality prints. On the contrary, if you are a photographer and need to print some high-quality photos, I do recommend looking at inkjets. This laser printer does print nice colored pictures, but I did find that my inkjet had better glossy-looking pictures which I found more pleasing to the eye. The toner cartridges should not dry out and will last a while but when they need to be inevitably replaced, the cost can be daunting. The cost of new toner cartridges goes for about $100 for a piece of color toner and a bit less for black toner. The high-capacity toners approach $200. Do the math and you may end up paying between $400 to $800 for toners. Whether it is worth it, in the long run, is up to you, in my opinion, I do think the cost is worth it considering all the pros of laser printers. ========= VERDICT: Overall, this is an excellent colored laser printer. Probably my favorite out of all my previous ones. Not only does it offer high-quality prints, but it offers a myriad of features that may surprisingly be useful to you. Hence, if you are looking to upgrade your inkjet printer, I do recommend you give this Canon model a shot. Of course, I would consider what situation you are in first. If you are someone who prints once a month or so, I do suggest looking at other inkjet alternatives. If you are someone who prints a good amount, do suggest giving some consideration to this model of laser printer. I would look at an overall cost too, this laser printer is pricey along with its toners but is better long-term inkjets are significantly cheaper but are subject to ink drying up rendering them useless. I seriously consider these options before making your next printer purchase.

Great laser printer for home or small office
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Somewhat compact, quick, clear printer. I love that it has a copier and fax built in as well. Printing is fast and the quality is great. The draft/low toner mode is basically useless, as the prints are way too washed out. Toner are a bit on the pricey side and have an average time before they need to be replaced. I had an older model that I ruined when trying to clean it out after using off brand toners, we went for the newer model since I really had great success with the old one.

Instantaneous prints! FLASH
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This printer should be called The Flash. It's literally instant prints. The replacement "ink" are "069 Toner Cartridge" They're roughly $100 for each black/cyan/magenta/yellow, so you're looking at $400 (basically the price of a new printer!) if you run out of ink. At the same time, you can print roughly 2000. This is pretty overkill for a casual home user - it's made for business - but it's a luxury to have. The negative is it takes up a lot of space. It's great to have all-in-one, touch screen, and app support to print directly from your phone. Best Buy has the best price!

Needs fine tuning out of the box
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works well with windows, for the most part. Problems when printing with macOS and iOS at first - you have to fiddle with several settings to get this to work with Macs - it seems to print too light. Several things needed adjustments when I received this - margins when coming from the bottom tray were off, the too light printing affected both windows and Mac were printing things too light and faded. I've owned a couple of other color laser printer brands in the past and this is the first one that just wasn't ready to go straight out of the box and needed a lot of tweaking of settings. The toner is pricey - just check what Canon toner cartridges cost. Canon support is minimal - you get a knowledge base which tells you how the printer is supposed to work, and a community forum to troubleshoot why it doesn't work. You can get a CarePak, for a price, which has more support options, but I didn't opt for that. This was an aggravating printer to set up, I'm still not sure if I'll keep it, yet. I'm beginning to understand why a major consumer magazine that reports on product quality listed Canon customers the most unhappy of the major brand printer owners.

Canon mf753cdw printer
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This canon mf753cdw printer is a very excellent printer. I have look at other brand such as ho and brothers but I just like the sturdy built and the quality of the print. Very easy to setup with WiFi yes the ink is expensive but I will never used after market ink in this printer from lesson learned because after market ink is cheaper but overtime it will ruined your printer I lost a few printer because of this. Please use original ink from canon in this printer and you will have any problem for years

A good system - worth of consideration
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an upgrade to a Canon MF743cdw. I was looking for a durable color all-in-one laser printer. Because of my experiences with the prior model, I was favorably disposed to this product. It is relatively fast, offers good scanning capabilities and its setup is relatively straightforward. Compared to the MF743cdw, this version offers some important updates - it is faster and its menuing system is much better organized. Overall, related to comparable HP products (I did look), this is a no-brainer. HP locks you into only hp toner; here, we can use (with some cautions) third party. The only downside of this system is the cost of the toner, which is really dear. I usually buy it on ebay. If you can live with this problem, then you will be pleased with this unit. Recommended.

Excellent printer
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent printer and print quality but setup is not for the faint of heart. The printer is heated more towards s small office rather than a home but if you're technologically savvy home user you should be okay. Toner cartridges are very expensive and they're are not many non-oem cartridges available for this printer.

Great Printer
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve owned hundreds of printers but this one is by far the best. My only wish is that toner cartridges were not so expensive. But I knew that and purchased it anyway.

Doesn't live up to the Canon standard
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had high expectations for this printer and even purchased it on sale for $500. However, not even 2 weeks of minimal printing and I already had to purchase new cyan and yellow toner. I understand this was a starter pack, but I wasn't expecting that. Also, for some reason THIS model printer takes the most expensive toner I've seen. The Canon toner number for this machine is 069. Look up the cost. Each toner color is about $220 before tax and shipping. Other toners like 067 are only $78 each. Another issue, I've already gotten a black mark down the side of my prints now. In just 2 weeks. Lastly, I tried to make a color copy and the color was WAYYYY off. I'm not sure what's so special about this printer. BTW, I'm an IT Director and have worked in IT for 20+ years. And I have specifically worked with Large Canon printers for years. I've always liked Canon, but this one wasn't the one for me. I'll have to return it.

Great Printer - Lots of Features
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had on older model (MF8200 series) Canon color laser printer very similar to this one that has been very reliable. I decided to get this one because its specs show faster print speeds as well as automatic double-sided printing, and it has a simpler touch-screen interface. This printer does not disappoint! Print speeds are very fast. One thing that I didn't like about my previous printer was that while the first print job came out quickly, it took the printer a while to warm-up and start printing the next job. This one is as fast on the 2nd job as the first - and boy is it fast! I love the features of this printer. Automatic double-sided printing saves paper and makes it so easy to print material for binding. The quality is very good, too. It's not going to replace a good photo printer, but color images are clear, with fantastic color matching. It's definitely magazine quality. There are really only two things I don't like about this printer. One is that when used as a network-connected printer, the scan utility is a bit "disconnected". Instead of a one-button scan to disk file, you have to initiate the scan from the computer. The other issue is that toner is VERY expensive compared to other color laser printers. And since this is such a new model, there are no aftermarket or refill options yet. I do really like this printer and highly recommend it.
