I have used other laser printer brands in the past, but purchased this printer based on the strong recommendation in Consumer Reports. Day 1: The device I picked up from Best Buy had a touchscreen that did not work. Let's call this one Printer #1. I spoke with Canon technical support, who said that this was a known problem that could be fixed with a firmware upgrade. After applying the firmware upgrade, the problem persisted. Canon offered to overnight a replacement printer, and I agreed. Day 5: The overnight shipment finally arrived with Printer #2. This printer would turn on, but immediate register a paper jam. There is no trace of paper inside the printer. The Canon support representative was apologetic and said they would send a third printer right away.... as fast as the other one had arrived. He asked that I ship back Printer #1 but hold on to Printer #2, so I did. Day 8: Without any shipment notifications from Canon or Fedex, I started to suspect that Canon had lost track of my issue. Sure enough, the representative could not find any record of a printer due to be shipped, or any record of Printer #2 under my name. She asked if I still had Printer #1, and I told her that I had shipped it back on the request of the other representative. After more time on hold, the representative did finally find a record of my issues. She said a new device would be shipped and arrive in 3-5 business days. Why not overnight this time? She told me that because I no longer had Printer #1, their policy wouldn't allow them to ship Printer #3 overnight. So now I'll have to be watching for a 70 pound package to show up in front of my house at some unknown time in the next week or more. I have yet to print a single page. We'll see what the coming days bring... but based on my experience with Canon's support and the issues with the first two devices, I can't say I'd recommend purchasing this one. I'm sharing my experience for the benefit of others who are looking at this printer. In hindsight, I should have just returned it to Best Buy immediately and selected another brand.

If you need help do not call online customer service. They said they will do it and nothing happen.

Took painstaking steps to get on our network. FAR from “Plug and Play”. And then the color copies and print jobs were hideous. Apparently it’s a defective unit. So after lugging it up to our second floor office, fighting with it for hours on end, have to package it back up and return it. And it’s expensive to boot! Goodbye Canon.

Check replacement toner cost before you buy this - it costs more than the printer.
