Capable, if somewhat basic economy printer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The G3270 is a capable printer for anyone looking to leave cartridges behind, but unfortunately does omit some of the features you might expect from an all-in-one device at this price point. The setup process for the printer is very simple. The paper trays are all permanently affixed and simply slide and/or fold out, and there are only a few pieces of tape holding everything in place. There are only two major assembly steps: installing the print heads and loading the ink tanks. Both simply require you to drop the requisite parts into their corresponding slots. Everything is keyed so that there shouldn't be any risk of accidentally mixing up which one goes where, and gravity does all the work getting the ink out of the bottles so there's no mess to worry about if you're less than perfect. WiFi setup is handled via an app, making up for the somewhat basic control panel. All in all, you should be able to get up and running in just a few minutes (though it may take longer to fully prime the pumps responsible for delivering the ink.) As far as printing goes, quality is quite good on both standard and photo paper (though the latter, as expected, makes a significant difference in terms of color quality and overal clarity.) Text is sharp and can be produced relatively quickly. And with tanks this big, you should be able to do plenty of large jobs without exhausting the supply. The scanner is also quite sharp and offers very high quality results. The top mounted paper tray also means it has no issues working with banner paper for larger displays, and its ability to print borderless media appears absolutely flawless. This, however, is when some of the printer's less impressive attributes started to show. To start, it is mechanically quite noisy while operating. I don't know if the ink delivery system is adding to it or if there are just some loud stepper motors driving the print carriage, but it can be a bit distracting while it's going. I also found while testing the copier that the control panel is pretty non-user friendly. It is not adjustable at all and the tiny LCD screen used for feedback and settings is only really easily readable when viewed head on - which isn't likely to occur unless you're fairly short or you've placed the printer up unusually high. Finally, it doesn't have a lot of the features that I've started to just come to expect as standard for something that takes up this much space. There's no built in duplexer for dual-sided printer, no automatic document feeder for the scanner, and only a single paper tray. As such I'd say this is much better suited for occasional home use than an office setting.

Good at Home Wi-Fi Printer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As someone who is constantly printing documents for work, The Canon PIXMA MegaTank G3270 Wireless All-In-One with the MegaTank ink technology is a game-changer, with its refillable ink tanks, I no longer have to worry about what specific ink cartridge I have to purchase. In fact, the printer comes with enough ink to print up to 6,000 black and white pages or 7,700 color pages, which should be more than enough for at least 2 years. In terms of print quality, the PIXMA MegaTank G3270 produces sharp and vibrant images with the colors accurate and true to life, making it perfect for printing photos and graphics. Another feature I appreciate is the Wi-Fi connectivity, but the setup process is not the best, in that if I didn't have a USB-B plug (Not Included) on hand from my old printer, I'm not sure I would have been able to set up the printer. Cannon tells you to download their app and follow the steps but those steps are basically just turn on the printer and hope the app finds the printer, which it didn't. So since I had a USB-B cord I was able to download the drivers from Canon’s website and then I was able to set the printer up and then the app was able to work where I can print off Wi-Fi. The G3270 also boasts a respectable print speed of up to 10.8 images per minute for black and white prints and 6 images per minute for color prints. This is a solid choice for those who don't need to print a lot of pages. One minor downside to this printer is that it doesn't have an automatic document feeder. This means that when scanning or copying multiple pages, you have to manually feed each page through the scanner. However, for the price and features, this is a minor nitpick. Overall, I think the Canon PIXMA MegaTank G3270 Wireless All-In-One SuperTank Inkjet Printer is a serviceable printer for those who need to print from home.. With its impressive print quality, wireless connectivity, and cost-saving ink system, it's an excellent investment for both personal and professional use.

Great AIO printer, but missing a few features
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Canon PIXMA MegaTank G3270 is very good basic all-in-one printer for a home or small office. The printer is very easy to use, features both wired and wireless connectivity, and per print cost is quite low with ink, which is astonishingly high capacity. However, it lacks two features that may give you pause if they are ones you need: there is no duplexing print option, so single-sided is it, and there isn't an automatic document feeder, so copies and scans have to be performed manually on the flatbed scanner. Out of the box setup is really easy--you can let the printer itself evidently walk you through setup on the small LCD, but I scanned a QR code and let my phone take me through setup. It took just a couple of minutes to install the print heads, fill the tanks, and connect the printer to WiFi. The printer does not make you do an alignment but I highly recommend it, as my initial test print wasn't that great and the alignment, which prints out a test page for the scanner to read, fixed readily. Paper capacity isn't very high--only 100 sheets of plain paper--so you may find yourself needing to refill it more often than others with higher capacities. Print quality was good, if not laser sharp, in both color and black and white. It's fast enough for most users, I'd suspect, but it's definitely not the fastest printer I've used. What's very nice though is that the ink capacity is just incredible--with tanks full, it's rated for 6,000 black and 7,700 color prints. Another thing I really liked is the app and wireless printing. I didn't need to create yet another account, and I didn't have to be bombarded with offers to subscribe to an ink refill service. It just prints without fuss, and that's what I want out of a printer. Printing from my Android phone from Google Docs also worked flawlessly. Overall, I think this is a good printer for most people, with the caveat that those who need an ADF or duplexing will need to look elsewhere. I really wish it had those particular features, as the rest of the printer is really easy to use and produces very good results, and the print capacity in ink is insanely good. That said, this is replacing my printer that did have ADF and duplexing, but was so completely frustrating to use that the no nonsense, easy to use Canon is a welcome change.

Print out those photos, yep! No cartridge needed.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have always been a fan of tank-based all-in-one printer as they offer good value for my printing needs. The features that I would look for in a printer: Good print quality for both documents and photos Easy to use Wireless connectivity and mobile app, which is a must-have these days Good value for the money The good news is this Canon printer meets all those requirements. However, unlike typical inkjet printer that is so much cheaper to buy, the initial investment for a tank-based printer is usually higher. That is because typical inkjet printer will have you buying expensive print cartridges as soon as the ink level went low and we all know it won’t be long before we need to replace those cartridges. We would pay more upfront with tank-based printers however, the printer is able to print literally thousands of pages before the tank needs a top up. With full tank capacity, Canon rates the printer at 7700 pages of color print or 6000 black and whites. The actual number of pages for photo prints will be less because photo prints require more ink density to print. Because I like to print both documents and photos at home, having a tank-based printer makes much more sense for my needs because typical inkjet printer will run out of ink pretty fast if we use it to print photos. It saves me from having multiple supply runs or ditching the waiting time for the supplies to arrive from online purchase. Having this printer at home is very useful to print pictures straight from the phone as our phone has become the primary camera these days. Ok so what about print quality? For documents, this printer does the job ok. Print quality for picture is satisfying as long as we’re using very good photo paper. Canon is a photo company after all. There’s a preset for Canon’s photo paper which will allow the printer to apply the best setting for the paper automatically. When printing photos from computer or phone, there might be some color and contrast differences from the picture that appears in your computer screen but they are somewhat expected because we are not using a professional photo printer and our computer/ phone screen may not have been color calibrated using the same technology that the printer uses as its point of reference. Again, this is not a printer designed to print color accurate photos for professional/ creative industry use. If print result is not up to your liking, the solution is fairly simple, try to adjust the picture by using any photo editor app in your phone then print the picture using the Canon app. The printer is able to print a photo in less than a minute, which is about the same printing speed as my previous printer. For documents, we should be looking at less than 10 pages a minute or in the ballpark of 8 pages, which is acceptable result from a non-laser printer. Also, this printer does not support automatic duplex printing, which is not a surprise considering that this is an entry level tank-based printer. Duplex printing is still possible but it has to be done manually. As an all-in-one printer, we can copy and scan up to letter-sized documents at 600x1200 dpi with 16 bit of color. However, there is no automatic document feeder system, which means we have to do it one page at a time. Last but not least, this printer is pretty big especially when you compare it with typical inkjet printers. However, the dimension and weight are normal for a tank-based printer. So, placing the printer properly may become a challenge if we don’t have a large working space. In summary, this is a solid printer for home use as long as we don’t need to print multiple pages of documents on both sides automatically. This printer is best for people who expects to print many pages and photos at home.

Entry level printer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.THE BREAKDOWN: The Canon PIXMA MegaTank G3270 Wireless all-in-one printer is ideal for those that are tired of replacing ink cartridges. It is lacking in some feature for printers in this price point. Unboxing and setup: The setup for this printer is easy. After removal of a few pieces of tape you then install the print heads and fill the ink tanks. Next step is setting up via Wi-Fi and an app. I think you can have this printer up and running in around 5 min. The Printer: The size of the printer is small and doesn’t take up much room. This printer has Wi-Fi direct printing along with mobile printing and scanning. There is only one paper tray so if you print on different size paper you will have to swap out the paper. The paper try only holds 100 sheets of legal-size pages. One of the downfalls is that this printer does not allow auto duplexing it is manual. This means that it prints one side of the document then you must remove the paper then hopefully put it back in the correct orientation to print the second side. The scanning bed can only scan letter size so you cannot scan full legal-size pages. The ink for this printer lasts for 6000 mono text pages and 7,700 standard color pages. The printing speed is 11 pages per minute in black and 6 pages per minute in color. PRO’s: - Prints, scans, and copies - Ink tanks to save money on ink - Ink was included - Supports mobile printing CON’s: - No automatic document feeder - Scans letter size only - Manual duplexing - Only holds 100 sheet capacity - Slow printing speed SUMMARY: Overall, this product worked as intended, and I would recommend this to a friend if they were in the market for bike like this.
