    Nice AIO printer

I bought this printer specifically because it does not use cartridges but refillable ink tanks instead. This should keep the printing costs down and the used cartridges out of the landfill. Even if the cartridges are recycled, some plastic had to be used to create them in the first place, so decreasing that, even by the small amount generated by printing by my family, seems like a good thing to me. The printer performs all its functions as expected, and I've not found anything in the specifications or description that was not true. Be aware that the setup is a little involved, primarily due to the very '90s control panel. It isn't something that you would do very often though, and while the panel is clunky compared to other printers that have a full color touch screens, it functions just fine once you get the hang of it. Printing speed seems quite a bit slower than my previous HP OfficeJet Pro 8610, but not unbearably so. Print quality is good. The printer comes with basic photo editing and publishing software, which is a nice bonus. I like that this printer is quite a bit smaller than the HP was, but it also does not have a feeder for the scanner. I decided that I did not use that feature often enough to justify paying for it though. Network printing and scanning are both present and working fine, including network scan-to-pc function. It remains to be seen how well does the printer and the Canon ink keep the print heads from getting clogged. This is my first Canon inkjet printer, and I am hoping that it will last longer than other manufacturers' ink jets.

It was a very easy set up. The printing speed is slower than advertised but the print quality is good. One important flaw is the fact that the control panel has no light.

So far it has worked well. Set up was (mostly) really easy. The ink tanks were easy to fill. The hardest part was connecting to the internet. They really buried the way to connect straight to the wireless without going through their software. It is literally not in the getting started guide. But you'll need to use the set up menu, and go to Wifi set up to connect straight to your wifi. (This is the only way to use the device with chromebooks as far as I can tell.) So far other than this is has been good. But they should add the wireless only set up to their getting started guide. Also the control panel is a bit a hard to read for an old lady like myself. Here are the instructions I used: https://ij.manual.canon/ij/webmanual/Tutorial/G6000%20series/EN/TRL/Top.html

I bought this printer for the low cost of operation, plus good experiences with Canon products and high quality printing at all price points. I have not been disappointed - it prints graphics and text very well, and ink usage can be controlled by regulating print quality. It duplexes, but slowly; single side printing is rated at 13 pages per minute - roughly 3 ppm faster than the next Canon printer in the lineup, and a good bit faster than the cheaper Epson I lloked at (maybe 8 ppm?) Network setup was quick and easy and has not given me any problems. The printer comes with 3 full bottles of color ink (one for each colr), and three bottles of black ink - - which works well for me, as I bought the printer to print text, not graphics or photos. It is a little noisy, but nothing compared to the HP, Samsung and Brother laser printers I own. Warm up from a cold start is pretty quick, and the printer stays read to print for awhile after that. Paper trays hold 250 and 100 sheets. You can put different papers in each, and there is a manual feed for single sheets of thick stock (e.g. report covers). The out put tray has to be pulled out and unfolded, and it is vulnerable to accidental breakage. Ditto for the rear tray. I'd keep roughousing kids and pets away from the printer when it is being used. The control panel is OK, but not lit; I keep a small LED flashlight handy when I am using the printer. BTW - Best Buy got the printer to me very fast at no extra cost, and the price was right for this level of printer. Can't speak to issues like relaibility, durability, jam-prone operation, etc. because I have not had the printer long enough. I am very satisfied with the printer (especially the low cost of printing, and the speed r3elative to the price) and the print quality.

So far works great. Easy to install and prints nicely. So far my only gripe is the weird control panel. It was hard to install the printer only because it kept complaining that the panel was open, but it called it something that sounded like a menu not a physical control so it was very confusing. Why even have the panel open/close if you HAVE to have it open to install and print anyway? Other gripe is the printer takes a bit to wake up before it prints. Otherwise so far so good. I like having bottles instead of cartridges

Good quality prints. Relatively easy to sent up. Had to call help line and check on line for a few questions. All resolved. The control panel is hard to read and because my printer is on a shelf above my desktop I need a small stool to read it.

This is my second Canon printer; I'm satisfied with the performance, though adjusting to the different set-up was a bit unnerving. My main beef is the control panel--it's almost impossible to read, no matter what angle I choose. Other than that, photo prints are sharp, and text is very clear.

Love the new printer. Picture quality is good. No touch screen which I though was odd, and the control panel is a little confusing at times. Still trying figuring out the menu settings, which are not clear in the instructions.

Decided to go with the Mega Tank printer instead of the cartridge type this time around. So far what I've printed is fine, but haven't tried a picture yet. My only issue is the old school control panel and definitely lack of a background light.

Very quiet. Nice output. Very slow. Almost no documentation. On-line manual is next to useless. Control panel screen is too small and difficult to read. I would much prefer that the printer functions were controlled from the computer keyboard.

Lack of backlit control panel is poor design. Two years in and get poor print quality looking like dirty print heads. Cleaning no good and then get error code 5200. Troubleshooting found on web does not resolve. Next option is buying new print head from canon. Nope, not going to risk $70+, finding another brand.

    Bad printer choice

I got this printer to replace an MG5420, which I liked pretty well, but the printing head went bad after 6 years and I figured the price of the head didn't warrant replacing it, vs. getting a newer printer. Bad choice. So far, I hate this printer. I was not successful setting up a wireless connection, so I use the USB connection, but that won't work with the scanner. I get error messages that it can't connect when I try to scan. Then, when I click on the support, I get pages in Chinese! A Google search for the problem turns up nothing. The manual is hopeless. In addition the control panel on the printer is not illuminated, so I have to keep a flashlight by the computer to see it. I just hope the ink lasts as long as it says, because all of the other features are not worth the money.

The control panel does not have a light. I wouldn't have bought it if I had know that. I had a terrible time setting it up. No scanner. It prints fine, and the photos are great...Canon please add an LED to this until, and you would get a 5 star. Mm
