Great First Telescope!

Bought this as a gift for my Dad, who has always wanted to stargaze. The telescope is easy to set up, the EQ mount is a little confusing to get started with. If you want something more straight forward, I'd recommend the AZ mount for ease of use. If this is your first telescope, I recommend buying a 26mm eye piece to go along with this. Makes it much easier to locate planets when starting out. Best Buy shipping was excellent as always, got here 2 days ahead of schedule !

Fun to use if you have some patience to learn how.

Owned for 1 year when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.At first we didn't realize it needed batteries so we spent a while saying how hard it is to use but once we got the batteries in it was working fine. We watched some YouTube videos that explain how to use it with tips and tricks to get started and that made it easier. Overall it is a good beginner telescope, we are able to see the moon and a few stars. Using a star gazer app on your phone to point you at least in the right direction before using really helps to know what you are looking for.
