At the end of the original series, there were a lot of rumors swirling around the internet about whether or not Lelouch had survived his public demise. Those who have gone down this rabbit hole might already be aware of a brief clip from the Japan release of the final episode that showed someone who was very similar to Lelouch in a wagon with C.C. This mystery man drove the wagon, while C.C. was lying in the back on a bed of straw. The green-haired witch directed a question towards Lelouch, tilted her head upwards -- then the scene cut to the man driving the wagon and a smirk could be seen beneath the wide brim of his straw hat. This led people to believe that the driver was, in fact, Lelouch himself. However, that final scene with the man smirking was cut from the US version, creating a situation that looked more like C.C. tilting her head upwards to gaze at the sky and directing her question for Lelouch at the heavens, instead. Later, the creators came out publicly and declared that Lelouch was dead; end of story. This would appear to be at odds with the missing Japanese scene, leading some to believe that the creators had originally intended for Lelouch to be alive but then changed their minds and cut that last scene because they felt it made the story more satisfying. Regardless of whatever the truth about this situation might be, this movie continues forward with the idea of "what if Lelouch had survived," and tells a story about the fallen Emperor of Britannia returning to role of Zero to save his sister one last time. In order to tell this story, the original series was recently re-told in a more cinematic style, (which is to say, some of the side-adventures were missing,) and also with the idea of this being an "alternate universe" version of Code Geass. When I first watched the movie, I was unaware of this "AU" version, but those who haven't seen this cinematic version should still be able to enjoy the movie just fine. The only thing that really felt out of place for me was that one of the supporting characters who had died in the original series was still alive in this movie, but she only appeared for a few seconds in a couple brief scenes. Once you get past that, the only other notable difference that comes to mind is that Lelouch is less... "theatrical" in this movie. I would almost say that he comes across as being more mature, but it could also be argued that this resurrected Lelouch doesn't need to put on grand performances to influence a large, public audience. Still brilliant (and sometimes a little arrogant,) but not so different that it ever felt as though the character was somehow unfaithful to the original show.

Viewers Beware: you must have already watched all 50 episodes of Code Geass: Lelouch Of The Rebellion in order to understand the events going on in this movie. If you try to watch this movie BEFORE watching all 50 episodes of Code Geass: Lelouch Of The Rebellion, then you will be left confused. You have been warned!!!! Now on to the product, both of discs and the case we're in perfect condition with no problems whatsoever and even better, I got a working code voucher for the HD FunimationNow version of this movie that I get to watch on the go. So glad I didn't do shipping. 5 stars out of 5.

I was as best buy and notice a girl buy 3 of these anime. I was thinking hey I am an anime fan I better look and see what it was all about. It was the sequel to Code Geass I immediately bought it and liked the anime. I would recommend this anime to all fans. I would recommend people to get the anime it is a great series.

I started watching Code Geass during the first season. I was gripped and waited patiently for the second season to release in America. Fifteen or so years later, we get a continuation of the story. The movie is solid, but I think it would have worked far better as a miniseries (I understand there is supposed to be a new season coming out, but who knows--this is 2020, after all). As a die-hard fan, though, this movie was an awesome revisit to characters I loved watching for 50+ episodes back in the day. Check it out.

Code Geass series was one of my favorite years ago and I was excited to watch this. Story follows up years after the end of the series with the return of lelouch. Great story, characters and animation. Worth buying if you are a fan.

The design for this limited edition is awesome. I enjoyed this film very much. Loved seeing the characters, reunions, drama and all the battles. Its just the sequel wasnt needed. Its enjoyable as hell for any Geass fan.

Code Geass is an instant classic to all anime collections. This movie won't disappoint at all. It keeps you wanting more. And if you are new to series I would highly recomand you to give it a try.

Overall purchase not completely satisfied. I was not able to use my birthday reward towards the purchase for something that I really wanted. This doesn’t make me want to return back to the store anytime soon.

Movie is everything that you've loved from the show, if you are a fan. It could be rather confusing if you haven't seen the show before, or haven't seen it in a while... so definitely catch up on it!

This movie was a good way to keep the series going and to get fans excited for what is yet to come. Not only this but the packaging is super nice and really well made.

This is a sequel to movie trilogy not the series. I highly recommend this movie. It's great to see these characters and if you're a fan of the dub cast they got everyone back

I watched the movie and it was pretty good. A great reunion of friends and team. Also great action scenes. I didn't realize how Shirley Fennete was brought back to life.

Great movie. Nice way to end the sad ending of the series. Hopefully will lead to other projects in the future.

I ordered this online to pick up in store. When I got home and opened it I realized that the case had a dent on the front and the post cards were damaged on the edges. Didn't bother me much, but if you do you should check it before buying. The anime itself was great and I am happy to have it in my collection.

When I heard they we're continuing Code Geass I was very excited since it's been years since the original release and they did not disappoint.

If you love the anime show. You will love this movie. The action is super and the story I amazing. Please watch this movie if you are a fan.

Bought it almost a year ago and haven’t watched it yet. Bought it for collecting until I finish the first series!

Good movie not mind blowingly good but if you like Code Geass you should most certainly see this movie at least once.

Move was ok, but it was still a nice return this this series.

You're going to love Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection! Definitely one to look for when you have the time! :)
