Great speakers for your computer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I find 3.1 and 5.1 subwoofers to sound a little too boomy. These T-20s have good 3- way speaker design and a vented port to strengthen the lower register without making it overpowering or boomy. If you value clear high end and mid-range at a medium price range, these speakers are a good value. Better speakers are going to cost 50% more.

Top of the line product without high cost
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent product. Physically has heft and controls and materials feel like quality pieces. Tonal range is good to excellent with plenty of power. At this price point and you add the great quality and great fit and finish plus the extra details like the gold plating on the jacks and there is even blue metallic flecks in paint noticeable in direct light. Hard to beat for the price and features, very happy purchase.

Nice little speakers
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed to replace my speaker system for my computer as one of the speakers died. I didn't want to get the same thing, so I started reading reviews. The system I had before had a subwoofer with it, but I was kind of hoping to get away from that, so I bought these. These have a great base without any external woofer, and they sound really nice. I don't have them in a very big room so I don't need to turn them up all the way, but I do notice that when they are turned up higher than a little more than halfway, there is a bit of a static-y sound. So I just turn them down a little physically and turn the sound up higher on my computer and it works fine. They also look pretty sleek. I'm very pleased with my purchase.

Great speakers for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the Bose Companion 2 speakers and just was not happy with them. I listen to Pearl Jam - Soundgarden etc and also do some gaming. The Bose were muffled to me. Wife liked them just fine but I could not get the sounds I wanted so I ordered the Creatives after reading several great reviews on a few sites, so glad I did. They simply are better speakers. I had both sets on the desk and played a TV show, music and a little gaming. I plugged in the Bose and then the Creative. 4 of us in the room chose the Creative as the better speakers in every category. I had my mind made up after listening to a few live songs in .flac format. Simply cannot be beat for under 100 dollar speakers. Very crisp and the treble/bass knobs on the right speaker are a nice touch. Surprised how well these little 28w speakers sound. They will not knock the walls down but a little past the half way mark they are LOUD and clear. So much better than the Bose and I never thought I would say that..

The best non-subwoofer speakers I found
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't like subwoofers. There, I said it. They're great for home theater systems and full-sized stereos, but for my desktop computer in my office, subwoofers vibrate the floors too much and disturb people in other rooms without giving me a significantly better aural experience, particularly since I'm just listening to stuff through my computer or iPod at relatively low volume. Most table top speakers are junk. So when I finally decided that I'd had enough of the throw-away speakers that came with my HP computer, I took my iPod (and the 1/8" plug-to-plug cord that I use to connect my iPod to my car stereo) with me shopping. (BTW, that was a really good idea...do the same if you can.) Almost all computer speakers have an "AUX" input jack, so I was able to go from one set of speakers to another comparing them using the same song from my iPod. The Creative Labs Gigaworks T20 series II speakers were FAR AND AWAY better than any other comparable speakers on the shelves at Best Buy. It's that simple. They had both clearer highs and better bass than the others, including some with subwoofers, to the point that there wasn't even a real comparison. These speakers weren't cheap, and because I was used to speakers being free with the purchase of a new computer, I hesitated to spend more than, say, $20 on them. But after comparing the new speakers available at the store...and *especially* after comparing the T20's to the speakers they're replacing at home, I have come to accept that a reasonable amount of money spent on quality speakers can make an enormous difference with regard to how much I enjoy listening to music and watching videos on my computer. I consider their $100 cost to be money well spent.

Surprised!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I selected these speakers and several others both 2.0 and 2.1 styles in the $100 to $300-price range (including the 8ose) after researching online and then went to the store to hear them. I was completely disappointed in the sound quality of everything that I listened to. All of the 2.1 systems had weak highs and boomy bass. You can turn down the bass but this doesn’t compensate for the weak highs and muddy mids. I assume that they would be fine if you only listen to rap, however I listen to rock/alternative and electronic. The T20 speakers weren’t even available to listen to but I bought them simply based on the fact that they actually have a tweeter and everything else sounded so bad, so I wasn’t expecting too much. As soon as I got home I plugged in my mp3 player and was totally impressed with their sound quality considering their price and size. They exhibit crisp highs with balanced mids and lows. They will not shake your floor like a sub. The solid feel of the front mounted controls was a nice surprise too. If you appreciate a good bookshelf speaker then the T20s should be on your shopping list for computer speakers. I am very happy with them and if they had the T40s in the store I would probably go right back and upgrade because I’m sure that they are simply more of a good thing.

excellent sound
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the fact that it works with anything with an earphone jack (computer, tv, mp3 player, etc.). Looks cool, sounds great. Separate bass and treble controls are a plus too. A subwoofer would have been nice but it still has good base. Speaker grilles can be removed; I leave mine off because it looks better without them.

Spectacular Speakers!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For a couple of years, I burned countless CDs, so I could play them through my Onkyo stereo system--because of the dynamics of the Onkyo speakers. Then I bought a second computer, just for music; and, since it was a cheapy Compaq, I splurged on a set of Creative Labs T10 speakers (cost about $50), to service both computers. I was amazed at the quality of sound; so much so, that I bought about 40 feet of speaker wiring, so I could play music in the living room--which, of course, left me without speakers in my little computer room. So I bought the remarkable Creative Labs T20's, moved the T10's back, and disconnected the Onkyo stereo system. I've done sound comparison tests (CDs vs. direct-from-computer) and, even using the cheapy Compaq computer--because, I believe, of the quality of the T20s--there, simply, is no comparison. And, since the speakers allow you to adjust the treble and bass components (a wonderful feature!!), you are able to focus on the elements of sound you prefer. In short, if you're looking for computer speakers--for whatever purpose--look no further than Creative Labs!

Amazing Speakers
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm one of those people who has to have perfect sound quality, or I won't even listen to my music. I did some research and I decided that the Creative GigaWorks would be the speakers I would try next. I used to have a set of Boston Acoustics that had a subwoofer. The Creatives sound almost as good, or even as good as the 2.1 system I used to have. If you want want speakers that don't have a sub, but still have great bass, these are the ones you want. The Bass X port sounds almost the same as speakers that really do have a sub. These speakers will beat the Bose Companion 2. I was trying to decide between the Bose Companion 2 and these speakers. I'm glad I tried something different and went with the Creatives.

Excellent 2.0 Speakers
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted a pair of 2.0 speakers for my second computer and didn't want another subwoofer taking up floor space. I looked at all the ones on display and none of them impressed me. I almost went with the Bose until I read reviews on the auto-treble adjustment at high volumes. Also, the Bose didn't have tone controls on the speakers themselves. I've owned a pair of Cambridge Soundworks for the past 8 years and they still sound great. So I decided to try out the Creative T20s. At the time, the store didn't have any on display so I couldn't test them out. After some debate, I decided to buy them. I figured if I didn't like them, I could return them. After 4 months, they're still on my computer desk. I'm very impressed with these speakers. The T20's put out very good sound that fills the room and some tight bass for a pair of 2.0's. Of course the bass isn't as good as a subwoofer but if I wanted that, I'd have gotten 2.1's. The cost is on the high end but you get what you pay for. Highly recommended if you're looking for great sounding 2.0 speakers.

great quality mid-tier speakers
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are great speakers. I'm continually impressed the quality and fullness of sound that come out of these relatively small desktop speakers. You'll want to make sure you have an HD certified chipset or sound card and the latest WHQL signed drivers. You'll also want to make sure that in Vista or Windows 7 you have these setup as full-range speakers in Playback Devices > Speakers > Configure Worth $100? Well, they are to me. Especially now that I have Blu-Ray going on my PC. With a high quality audio source, you'll definitely hear the quality in these speakers. You won't get 20Hz thump obviously, but you'll get some surprising bass.

Better than Bose Companions
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had purchased Bose Companion speakers at the recommendation of a Best Buy salesperson. After listening to them on my iMac, they didn't sound any better than the speakers on the computer. I read the reviews of the T20's and they were on sale, so I decided to give them a try. They were only available on line, and much to my surprise, they were at my local store in two days. While I have tin ears, there is a clear distinction between tones in these speakers and the Bose. I had hoped to separate these speakers off of the desk, but the cord limitations prevent that. I do believe that further separation would only increase the quality. I don't normally write reviews, so I hope this helps someone.

Great sound from a small package
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a new set of speakers for my home PC that provided good sound quality but didn't want to have the hassle of a subwoofer and multiple speakers. This two speaker setup delivers crisp sound and good bass without any messy wire management.

Truly awesome speakers!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had been hesitant to buy computer speakers and whenever I did buy I would normally return them because I wasn't satisfied. Well, these speakers are definitely keepers. I love the sound the give out, the bass and treble controls to kind of customize the sound to your needs.

Great speakers for home/office computer desk.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I searched the site (BB) for a day to find a highly rated speaker that would fit in my speaker compartments in my desk hutch, independent/ manual bass/ treble controls, with good bass sound w/o the clutter of a sub-woofer. My search ended with these! I installed them on a fri night and was up til 2 am jammin on you-tube. & they sound great, and improved some of the not so great source videos you may find. I did notice they do start to distort at higher volumes, but sitting at my desk I dont need all that volume. Lowering the bass/treb levels help. They also include a 3.5 mm head phone & aux pin jack on the front, that may come in handy for some. The set came with every thing I needed to set it up, nothing else to buy, the cords were ample length, the speakers are set up 28" apart with plenty of slack line. Setting them up was a no brainer~ great for beginers, all you need is a 3.5 mm head phone pin jack on your computer or gaming system & your all set! Creative brand is not well known, but they're going to give the competition a run for their money with these babies!
