De’Longhi Turned Me Into a Coffee Snob
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don’t usually leave reviews, but this De’Longhi espresso machine deserves a standing ovation and possibly its own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. This thing has turned my kitchen into a 5-star café and me into a full-blown espresso snob. The shots it pulls? Perfection. The milk frother? Life-changing. I used to spend a small fortune at coffee shops — now I strut around my house like I own an Italian coffee empire. It heats up fast, cleans up easy, and makes every morning feel like a VIP experience. If you love yourself even a little bit… buy this machine. You deserve it.

||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Used to have an espresso machine that required manual frothing. I thought i had it good until we bought this. This literally made making espresso drink a touch away. So easy and convenient. It's one of those things that made me say to myself why did I not buy this years ago. It's pricey but worth every dollar.d

It an ok coffee machine!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is a nice looking machine but it needs a lot of attention ! Fill the water tank every day (and we are a household of two), keep a container under the spouts because of the self cleaning and even it has more types of coffee we are using maximum 4 of them..so the bottom line it is too expensive for what it is ! We recomend it if you are buying it on sale ( not at regular price).

Automatic Features are a Game Changer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The De’Longhi Magnifica Plus Fully Automatic Espresso Machine is finally the machine I needed to make me stop going to coffee shops and spending valuable time getting coffee. Having previously owned manual espresso machines where you must grind the beans, pack the grinds into a drip cup, brew the espresso, clean out the used grinds, rinse out the parts, disinfect the frothier, and put stuff away, there was a reason I didn’t make much espresso drinks. The steps involved and clean up was a deciding factor. Not with this machine. After setting everything up by cleaning all the parts, running the beginning self-cleaning functions, and going through a tutorial, you are ready to make a cup of espresso in less than one minute. Once you load the beans into the grinder and fill up the water tank, you are greeted with a slew of options of which drinks can be made. At first, I thought the touch screen was going to be a gimmick, but boy was I wrong. It’s a great visual guide on what you need to do to make a good cup of espresso. First the machine does a preheat and cleans out the nozzles by using a tiny bit of expelled hot water. The machine even tells you to please use a cup to collect the pre-heat self cleaning water. Then depending on the drink you choose, it will grind the beans, make the espresso, and add either hot water or begin the frothing process. You fill the frothing container with milk of your choice, plug it into the accessory port and the machine takes care of the rest. And that’s it, you get a cup of coffee that suits your taste. For each option of coffee, you can change the cup size and strength of the coffee. Then you can save those settings for next time. The best part about this machine is that it self-cleans. The used grinds are expelled into a container automatically and a bit of hot water is expelled out of the nozzles before the machine shuts down to clean out the liquid passage. All you must do is dump out the grinds, quick rinse with water and you are done. Because the start up time, making coffee, and self-clean is faster than going to the coffee shop, I will be using this automatic espresso machine multiple times daily. The only drawback of this machine is that you will not be able to make a venti (aka large) size of coffee at its max settings. This is great for one cup to be enjoyed immediately and if you want to make a venti sized drink to go, you might have to run the machine twice. The screen is brilliant in guiding you through a brew and clean up and I don’t know if I can ever go back to manual espresso machines. Even though this is a large initial investment, you easily will break even in six months price wise and don’t forget how much you will save on time and gas going to a coffee shop.

Amazing
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Where to start with the Magnifica Plus Fully Automatic Espresso Machine. Let’s just say it’s crazy good. This unit does it all as well as more than you ever need. I have been testing this unit out for the last week and still getting surprised on some of the features and how flexible this unit is. For starters, there 18 preset receives that are easily found though the touch screen interface. But the flexibility on each of these recipes is what makes this unit truly remarkable. For each of these recipes, there’s a default setting which allows you to customize as you select your drink. Customization with drink size, intensity, even an extra shot for certain drinks. After the drink is poured this machine asks if you want to save it to your profile. Then next time it is a single press for the perfect drink to your liking. Cup not full enough? For some drinks when the pot is finished, you see an extra button appear. You can opt to hold this button to allow more water to pour through the grounds to top off your cup. A real Americano, I have had other semi automatics that you can top off your espresso drink with hot water through the water/steamer wand. No need for that as an Americano recipe will get hot water directly through the spout without going through the grounds. There is a water spout attachment where you can draw hot water for other non coffee drinks you want to mix up. As for the milk drinks, this unit allows you to use real milk as well as plant based milk which I have seen other units not allow for that due to clogging. I have been using Almond milk with no issues and the froth is amazing. Not to mention that the froth is also customizable. For the milk based recipes, the touch screen display will tell you what setting to set your froth to based on the style of drink, but of course you have the ability to adjust to your liking. After a milk based drink, the machine will remind you to turn the dial on the milk cap run a clean cycle. Then you can pop the carafe out and pop it in the fridge for the next time. This is super convenient as you done need to clean the carafe on a daily basis. There are some minor positives with this unit. I have heard people mention that the cappuccino doesn’t make the drink in the correct order. In this case I pours the milk first then the coffee. Does it really matter? Not to me, it all goes down the same. However I found that the “Mix cappuccino” doesn’t pour the coffee first then the steamed milk, so the functionality is there, just not sure what the rational was. Coffee quality is great, of course people will always say it’s based on the coffee you use. You can see from the photo that based on tumor drink and intensity you can get varying puck sizes, which proves it is giving the extra kick when you want it. I would suggest tweaking the grinds size a little at a time and make a few drinks, the machine may have a hard time pouring a really fine grind with the highest intensity setting. The build quality, well it’s plastic. Probably doesn’t look as sharp as a stainless steel espresso machine, but it is not terrible. It is no difference in build quality as the next level up slid the Dinamica series. For me, given that this is a true fully automatic vs my semi automatic Dinamica, it is still a great upgrade. The touch screen is responsive. You can access maintenance steps in the settings which displays what you need to do directly on the machine so no need to try to find that user guide. This thing is really user friendly. Is it worth it? If you like to dabble with different drinks, have multiple coffee drinkers in the house, this thing is fantastic. If you tend to stick to one or two type of drinks and milk based drinks aren’t a regular thing, then not really. It would be overkill. For me, I am enjoying this and expanding my horizons in drinks I wouldn’t have made in the past due to the extra effort required.

Almost TOO little effort required
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've used a few espresso makers in the past. From more entry level starters to other nice De'Longhi makers. The process of setting up and grinding the beans and tamping the coffee down and then pulling the shot is fun for a little bit. Then there's the steaming of the milk to get that proper froth. Also a good time. For a little bit. But there comes a time with every espresso maker I use that I just stop using it because it's easier to just make a pot of dripped coffee. That said, I might keep using this one for the long haul. Setup looks more daunting than it is. It's an expensive machine and the book had some detailed instructions about the steps you should take when you first set it up as well as steps you should take the maintain it. It's just a lot to read through right away. When you actually power the machine up for the first time, it runs you through all of the initial setup steps described in the book right on the screen so you don't miss anything. You even test your water hardness and input it into the machine so it knows when you remind you to descale. Everything is very automatic. Usage was almost scary at first. Once you have everything set up, the hand holding stops and you're just presented with a list of drinks and when you press one, it just starts making it immediately. If you're missing the milk container, it'll remind you to attach it, but there's no extra instructions or no guide for how much milk you'll need for this drink. Just tap the drink and it's off to the races. They definitely weren't messing around when they say "fully automatic" here. The "fear" did subside after the first couple of drinks. Now that I know how things work (for the most part), it's just a little trial and error. I put more milk in than I think I'm going to need and then look at how much is left (the side of the milk container has number lines) when the drink is done. Once you have this locked in on your favorite drinks, it's pretty easy to fill it to that line and then let the machine do it's thing. Cleanup is also really easy. The milk container has a clean mode you should use after you're done making whatever drinks you're making. This rinses out the nozzle. Then you just detach it and wash it like normal. The drip tray also slides out and brings the expelled coffee with it. This is the extent of things you need to clean. Everything just comes apart really easy and for the most part just needs a quick rinse and dry. One thing I wish was included was some sort of rinse container. You can just put another cup or container under the spouts yourself but it would have been nice to have something included that I could just rinse out. When the machine shuts down, boots up or cleans the milk spout, some water gets (obviously) ejected. I've just been letting it spill into the drip tray and then cleaning that out every day or two. Overall, it hasn't been a problem, though, because like I said, cleanup is pretty quick and easy. The quality of the drinks is pretty top notch to me. I'm no a huge coffee snob but I like coffee. So far, everything has come out pretty perfect every time. The milk frother is so consistent I don't ever worry about it. And there's even a feature to create your own custom drinks if you want. It'll just start dispensing and you tell it when to stop so it knows how much of each ingredient to do. I'd say the only real downside for me is the size of the drinks. The XL drink is still only about an 8oz cup. I've had to break out the smaller coffee cups because we normally drink coffee from larger 16oz cups. Obviously not that big of a deal with being able to create your own drink mixes or just making a second cup. So, I feel like if you're into the whole "process" of making espresso or a cappuccino or whatever other fancy coffee drink you enjoy, you might not really like this espresso maker. It gets rid of all of that. There's no more process. The beans and water last for several cups and the only real step you have is to fill up some milk in the frother if it's required. There's no more process. I can see myself making a couple single cups of coffee from now on instead of just a big pot because of how hands off and easy it is. The drinks come out good and I don't have to do much anymore. 11/10, would recommend, if you're over the "process" of making espresso like I am.

The absolute easiest way to make coffee drinks!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This De'Longhi Magnifica Plus espresso machine is amazing! It comes well packaged and you can tell when taking it out of the box that it is well made and high quality. The instruction manual is very well written and detailed, but not really needed since this machine tells you exactly what to do every step of the way on the touchscreen display, which is incredibly clear and has high resolution pictures as well as instructions. When first setting up, it has you test your water for hardness (a test strip is included) and tells you whether or not you need the filter. The selection of coffee types is awesome - and easy to scroll through on the touchscreen. Besides every coffee drink from espresso to cappuccino (and everything in-between), you can also select hot water or hot milk. For each type, it shows a picture (of how much milk, espresso and froth is in each) and you can quickly adjust both the size and the intensity. Plus, you can save that selection for each person you set up a profile for! It is absolutely a blast to use! When using the milk frother, there are three different density settings - but the machine even tells you which one to use for which drink. This is definitely the easiest machine I've used for making latte's (my favorite) and other specialty drinks. It is also the easiest to clean with many of the parts dishwasher safe. The only downside of owning this machine, is that I'm drinking way too many espressos each day!

Perfect Consistency From An Espresso Machine
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.– OVERVIEW– The Magnifica Plus is a fully automatic espresso machine from Delonghi and as of this review, their newest in the lineup. With this model, their emphasis was on how customizable you can make each of the 18 unique drinks that the Magnifica Plus can create. And this customization can be done per user. – LOOK/FEEL – It really goes without saying; the Magnifica Plus looks amazing. The main touchscreen looks well integrated with the rest of the body, and it looks like a single, cohesive unit with respect to some of its siblings, and I much prefer this look over the others. The main touchscreen is fairly large, and the only two tangible buttons are power on/off and profile switch. – SETUP – Upon power, the unit will instruct you how to flush the system, walk you through a series of setup questions, including creation of user profiles as well as the hard water test. Delonghi includes a test strip to test the hardness of your water, and the results of that test will be inputted into the setup to determine how often you must descale the system for optimum use. Once this is all completed, then you’re ready to make coffee. – USAGE – The Magnifica Plus is all touchscreen when it comes to drink creation. If your household has more than one user, you’ll want to take advantage of profiles, and switch to your specific profile when you use the machine. This is important as the machine remembers your usage and settings, and tailors your interface based on what you drink more often. For instance, my wife just drinks coffee with her specific cup size and bean strength settings and it places “Coffee” as the first on the list of drinks; similarly, I love Americanos and it does this same thing for me. You’ll be using the Profile button on the far left of the main panel. It will assign a color to your profile so that you know if it is your profile in use. As far as the coffee creation itself, you’ll be presented with 18 different drinks, each with their own presets. You can simply tap the picture and it will begin making that drink for you. If you want customization, you can press below the drinks’ picture and set the drink size and bean strength. There may be a bit of trial and error here, and after every run, the unit will ask if you want to save these settings under your profile. Once you accept the changes, then from here on out, it will make your drink with those settings. You are always free to change them and resave; I imagine this happening when we try a new bag of beans. Finally, there is maintenance; the unit will instruct you to either add more water to the tank, clear out the grounded bean catch, or drain the drip tray, or do all at the same time if you’re lucky. Eventually you will get notifications to partake in the descaling process, which requires a descaler solution. Delonghi includes a single use pack with the unit, but its best to purchase a bottle of descaler to keep this unit running amazing for years to come. All removable parts of the Magnifica Plus are dishwasher safe. – PERFORMANCE – Having owned an Delonghi automatic espresso machine prior to the Magnifica Plus, the performance was as expected and I was never disappointed with the output of my creations from the Magnifica Plus. As a matter of fact, the creation of the Americano was my most favorite feature of this unit that my past unit did not have. The Magnifica Plus is able to pour espresso and hot water separately! I know, that seems a bit primitive, but it was something that I didn’t have before and my favorite cup in the morning is an Americano. Go figure, right? As far as taste, and I know a lot of this depends on the beans used, the Magnifica Plus makes the best Americanos. This is solely because it makes it exactly the same every time I run it. It’s perfectly hot, it’s dialed to my size and strength settings, and it is freshly made. As far as the frother, again it is something i’m very familiar with and for those that are looking to buy this as their first Delonghi unit, it is very very easy to use. The unit actually guides you through its use so you don’t mess things up. The only thing you need to know for yourself is your preferred froth settings. Everything else is a guided walkthrough of its use, and it's very nice overall. If you’re done using the milk frother, you can simply detach the jug and place its entirety in the fridge for another day. – GOTCHAS – The only complaint I typically have with the Delonghis I’ve owned is their water tank and how small it is. My wife and I are the only two who use this coffee machine daily, and we do find ourselves having to top off the tank more frequently than not. It’s either we drink way too much coffee, or that the tank is a bit on the small side. If you have a household with 4 or more, you may want to keep a pitcher of water close by. – CONCLUSION – There are a lot of automatic espresso machines in the market today, but from my experience, the Delonghi line of espresso machines do not disappoint. And the Magnifica Plus certainly does not disappoint with its customization per user. I now know that I can get perfectly made coffee the way I want it every single time.

The sleek silver color and modern design give it a stylish, premium look, and its compact size means it fits nicely wherever I put it. While some of the plastic parts feel a bit cheap to the touch, the machine still seems well-made. It's been a hit with guests, who often compliment its appearance. The color touchscreen is not only visually appealing but also user-friendly. I genuinely enjoy using the machine and find it fun to share the coffee-making experience with others. It has definitely elevated my kitchen setup and impressed fellow coffee lovers. Features: If I had to pick one word to describe my favorite thing about the De’Longhi Magnifica Plus, it would be "customization." Here’s why: First, the number of drinks you can make is astonishing. It can make 18 different ones at the touch of a button. Most of it is automatic, with the only manual step being prepping the LatteCrema Hot milk carafe for milk drinks. To complement the 18 drink options, the Magnifica Plus offers four drink sizes and five intensity settings, allowing you to find your perfect drink and cater it to your glass or mug size. Additionally, the bean grinder has a dial with 13 settings for a more coarse or finely ground output. With so many customization options, user profiles are incredibly helpful. Once you've found your perfect result for any of the 18 drinks, you can save it to your profile, making it quick and easy to brew your perfect cup every time. My wife and I have very different coffee preferences, so having our own profiles keeps us both happy without needing to manually adjust settings all the time. The Magnifica Plus supports up to four profiles, all managed through a very intuitive touchscreen interface. Drink Quality: I’m consistently impressed with the drinks produced by the De’Longhi Magnifica Plus. All 18 recipes are excellent, which is a real testament to the machine's capabilities. As an espresso enthusiast, I have to highlight how well it handles espresso shots. The five intensity settings let you customize your drink to perfection. I love my espresso intense, and the fifth setting is as strong as I hoped. Plus, there's even a button for an extra shot. The milk drinks are equally impressive. With the LatteCrema Hot milk carafe attached, I’ve enjoyed everything from Latte Macchiatos to Flat Whites. The onscreen instructions and the carafe make the process simple. Just fill it with milk, attach it, adjust the spout above your glass, and press brew. The screen guides you to adjust the milk frothiness or lets you choose your preference. Whether I use dairy or plant-based milk, the foam is always smooth and creamy. For cold drinks, it's basically an Americano over ice. You select the drink preset and choose between regular or extra ice. Although it's not the same as cold brew, it's still a great iced coffee. While I prefer freshly ground beans, the Magnifica Plus also takes pre-ground coffee. Select the pre-ground button in the drink recipe settings, add a scoop in the chute, and brew. It's nice to have the option for occasional flavored coffee that's not available in whole-bean form. And for those who enjoy tea, the machine dispenses hot water at just the right temperature. Since it comes out of a different spout, there’s no coffee taste in your tea. This machine's ability to cater to diverse tastes and preferences is truly remarkable. Maintenance: De’Longhi clearly put a lot of thought into the maintenance steps of the Magnifica Plus, and I really appreciate it. Automatic espresso machines are a joy to use, but a cumbersome maintenance process can overshadow that convenience. Thankfully, the Magnifica Plus is designed to be simple to maintain. The LatteCrema milk carafe disassembles easily, can be rinsed, and then placed in the dishwasher so that there’s no leftover milk residue. Cleaning the drip tray and grounds container is just a matter of emptying and rinsing them. If needed, you can wash the main parts of the drip tray in the dishwasher, with clear instructions indicating which parts are dishwasher-safe. The water tank doesn’t get very dirty, but an occasional rinse is advised. The exterior of the machine can be wiped down as needed, just avoid harsh chemicals. The inside, accessible after removing the drip tray and grounds container, will eventually have some coffee deposits. To prevent buildup, just use a vacuum. The infuser should be cleaned once a month by removing the water tank, opening the infuser door, and taking out the infuser. Immerse it in water for about five minutes, then rinse it under the sink. Additionally, the machine will display a message on its screen when a descale is needed. Although I haven't had to do it yet, the instructions say it takes about 25 minutes, and it's a guided process, so it should be simple. There's even a bottle of descaler included in the box. The ease of cleaning the infuser and descaling is a big plus for me because my previous machine had an overly complicated process that made it difficult to clean. Overall, De’Longhi has made the maintenance of this machine straightforward and stress-free. It adds to the joy of using the Magnifica Plus without the hassle. ----- WHAT’S IN THE BOX ----- 1 x De’Longhi Magnifica Plus Espresso Machine 1 x Pre-ground Coffee Measuring Scoop 1 x Water Hardness Test 1 x Water Filter 1 x Descaler (100ml) 1 x Removable Waterspout 1 x Milk Carafe

A personal barista without having to leave a tip
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you’re like all other coffee lovers, like me, the next best thing to actually having a coffee shop and barista in your own home or office is having an appliance with the ability to brew and craft your own concoctions. However, for those who have used or owned their own espresso machine in the past, they know how much barista knowledge, effort, and clean up is involved with such an appliance which can potentially scare some consumers away. That’s why the Delonghi Magnifica Plus fully automatic espresso machine is one of the best, if not THE best, options for either a beginner barista or, like me, someone who has used a handful of espresso machines in the past but is always looking for an easier, better way to do just about anything. Right out of the box, the Magnifica was easy to set up and get started by simply removing the protective wrap and plugging it in. Once it powers on, the beautifully clear touchscreen walks you through the set up process without having to rely on paper instructions or viewing videos although all three options are available. Once you fill the machine with espresso beans and water, it will go through initial preparation to make your first brew. It can be quite loud in comparison to other espresso machines, however, keep in mind, it’s because the Magnifica is doing all the work for you with all the pumps and moving parts to grind the beans, press them and heat up. If you are creating a drink that requires milk or an alternative such as a latte or macchiato, you simply pop out the waterspout on the front of the machine and plug in the milk container which should be stored in the refrigerator if you plan on keeping milk in it. Once the setup is complete, you are ready to start experimenting and brewing using their simple touch screen prompts. There are a plethora of milk or latte style coffees to choose from as well as coffee and espresso options. You could easily spend an hour tinkering with all the options to ensure you are getting just the right taste in your drink and it’s really fun to do when you have company over especially when they taste how great the drinks are coming from an in-home appliance and not having to pay the outrageous prices of local coffee shops. If there are multiple people in your household, you can add multiple profiles to the machine where you can customize specific drink options within those profiles such as the size, strength, and even adding extra shots. One of the main gripes I have always had with our previous espresso machines is the clean-up and maintenance. For those that don’t know, this consists of constantly wiping up espresso grounds, coffee spot on our counters, ensuring there’s no leftover milk on or around the machine, descaling the machine, etc. which can be time consuming and tedious trying to squeeze this routine into our already busy lives. With the Magnifica, there is very little cleanup as everything is contained within the machine including the beans, water, used grounds, etc. saving lots of time and effort which, in my opinion, is one of the best features of this machine. After each brew, the Magnifica empties each pressed coffee puck into its container hidden on the front of the machine under the espresso spout. If you made a drink with milk using the machine, it will ensure it purges the lines that had milk in it to ensure there’s no residue which can ultimately lead to that rotten milk smell, again, saving you the time and effort it takes to clean espresso machine parts. Overall, my wife and I have been truly impressed with what the Magnifica can do in comparison to the espresso machines we have been using for a decade. We can finally focus much more on enjoying our beverages and other adulting instead of worrying about the cleanup. I would recommend the Magnifica to anyone from advanced baristas to beginners looking to step up their coffee game or simplify their daily routines while also saving money in the long run versus making daily trips to the pricy local coffee shop.

Best automatic espresso machine you can own.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am spoiled! My new Magnifica Plus automatic espresso coffee machine has far exceeded my expectations. We have an automatic espresso machine at my workplace that I use every day. I jumped on the opportunity to get one for home. The Magnifica seemed like a high end model so it was a no brainer. My first impressions are on how big it is. In fact it is huge and will take up a big footprint on your counter. My biggest issue is that it is very tall. I am only 5' 5" and I can not see the grind setting wheel, which is located on the top and all the way in the back. This is only an issue for us short kings. Once you place it and plug it in, the display will literally walk you through setup. The display gives you step by step instructions along with pictures. I love it! After setup, it lets you create user profiles. I created one for myself and one for my wife. I still have not messed around with specific things to do with each profile but it's super cool to push a button and the colors and name changes on the display. All this excitement and I haven't even brewed one cup of coffee yet! I used the included espresso beans it came with and made a single shot espresso and... Bam! Perfection! I was energized but could still handle more. I made an Americano and it took me back to my trip to London where I enjoyed an Americano for the local Pret coffee chain. Complete satisfaction. The next day I used the milk feature. You fill a small carafe with milk and attach it to the machine. When you select a milk based drink the display panel will walk you through this as well. I made a cappuccino and it was deliciously crafted to perfection. Keep in mind the sink you select gives you the grind setting to use as well, so there is almost no chance for error. It is important to remember that you must only adjust the grind dial when it is in use. Changing the dial when not in use can damage the grinder. That would be the first likely thing to fail after prolonged use. I have been using this machine every day, from my coffee to go first thing in the morning, to my early evening espresso boost. I feel like owning this machine has somehow raised my social status, and I am OK with that.

well done de longhi but still needs improvements
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.De longhi Magnifica plus is a beautiful coffee machine that is built to make it easy for you to enjoy your coffee. With beautiful display this coffee machine does makes things a lot better to he considering I'm coming from using De longhi other coffee machine that requires more manual work, having to not worrying about that makes me appreciate having Magnifica in my kitchen. A very attractive coffee machine base that the moment my wife saw it she could not wait to experience how this machine will perform DEVICE The one we got is the silver version with beautiful finish. first impression the machine is not that big it does include about 3.5 touch screen that does enhanced the experience. The packaging comes with water level tester that you would need to use to help on which month to adjust your filter system. The screen is beautiful with smooth animation and offers a variety of coffee recipes you can create with a touch of the button, the screen is simple you have the user button, power button on the right and milk type drink on the bottom left and coffee type drinks on lower right. the water tank is located on the right side that is easy to side and the milk container for milk frothing the machine takes coffee beans with an option for coffee grind as well. I love that makes it easier for my father who only likes to drink decaffeinated coffee. EXPERIENCE majority of time I would make latte I could drink at least 3 of that in a day. making coffee with this machine is simple as clicking the drink on the screen. but the best part is you have the ability to adjust how strong you want or how much do you want, there’s at least 18 drinks you could make, and the ability to create 4 user profile in this machine. it’s a very handy features that let you save your own preset for drinks without re adjusting every time you use it. I love the milk and coffee pouring animations, you also have the ability to add an extra shot to your. the mill container works wonderful, it can create some of the best milk foam i’ve tried. the device it’s self is simple and easy to break down and clean, just make sure you keep up with all the parts. the device itself does an auto rinse that automatically recommends you to do so after preparing the drink. the whole setup can be followed on the machine main screen so you technically don’t even need the manual. the water thank can only hold up to 1.9 liters of water which is not bad fair decent size specially with only two people in the household. CONCLUSION the machine makes a great coffee, the beans that came in the package not so much I thought what they included was alright and the flavor was decent, one thing that I notice right away was the temperature of the coffee once its finish making it, for me I don’t think it’s hot enough. yes the coffee is hot but I prefer a bit more heat from the machine. i’ve check the setting for heat levels and the machine is currently on its max, honestly for me this is just a medium heat, and it’s a bit disappointing that I don’t think the machine could ever get hotter than what we currently have, my other option is to either put it in microwave after the coffee is prepared. but it’s a bit annoying. having profile for drink was a a nice touch, creating a perfect looking milk froth was simple you just had to watch it. the machine is a bit too compact, I wish they widened it up a bit with a bit more space for water tank. maintenance is easy all of them are plug and play kind of scenario, don’t need to unscrew things or take multiple step to clean the device, I also wish the machine is taller so my to go insulated drink holder could fit and the nozzle for the espresso to give an option to move forward and backwards beyond up and down. overall it’s one great espresso machine that’s capable of creating tons of drinks

Love the ease, consistency and quality of espresso
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Disclaimer, I'm about an 8 out of 10 on the self proclaimed coffee snob ranking, while I don't roast my own beans, I do fresh grind and pour over or press most days that time permits. I drink my coffee black, and don't believe anything with added flavoring is actually coffee. That being said, I was excited to try the De'Longhi Magnifica Plus Fully Automatic Espresso Machine in lieu of my normal, time consuming, coffee routine. In the box is the espresso machine, filter, scoop, water hardness test, cleaning brush, descaling solution, water spout, sample espresso beans, and milk carafe. Assembly is straight forward, remove from the box, plug in, and follow the setup instructions on the 3.5" electronic display, filling the water tank and the coffee bean container. The machine will conduct an initial rinse of the unit, from there it will prompt you to perform a water hardness test. We are on well water and use a water softener, so my water tested at a 1, and I set the machine parameters accordingly. Note this test can be redone if you move or install water filters. The hardness test is used to drive the descaling timeline, so it's important to make sure it's accurate, otherwise you could get buildup and reduce performance of the machine. After testing hardness, you'll want to install the filter in the water tank, set the date reminder at the top of the filter and press into the water reservoir. After these steps are complete the machine will ask for the number of unique users, up to 4, which allows each of us to have a unique color that identifies our settings (4 different size options with 5 different intensities for each of the drink types). To make a drink, turn on the machine, which takes approximately two minutes to warm up, and will release a small amount of water into the drip tray. Select your personal profile, then select your drink, each drink has the ability to select size and intensity, with some options offering an "extra shot" option as well. Note that if you select the wrong size for the cup, you can always stop midbrew to avoid overflow. The internal burr grinder has 13 different grind options, and will grind based on the dial settings you select and grinds on demand. Coffee options are: espresso, coffee, americano, long, cold americano, doppio+, double espresso, cold coffee, and hot water. Adding the milk carafe the options expand to: latte, cappuccino, flat white, espresso macchiato, latte macchiato, cappuccino mix, cortado, cappuccino+, and hot milk. If using the milk carafe, after the drink is done, the machine will ask to put a container under the carafe and it will "clean" the line. At times I'll let it drain into the drip tray, as it's large and can handle multiple drink cycles with the hot water flush as well as the carafe clean. The machine will alert you when to fill the water reservoir and when to add coffee beans. The coffee bean grind strength is controlled through a knob in the coffee bin and allows you to select the fineness of the grind. Note that the more fine, the slower the pour. To clean, the drip tray comes out, there is a red float that alerts you if the tray is full, otherwise there is enough tray space to carry it without risk of spillage. The center section contains the coffee grounds, and comes out and can be dumped and rinsed easily (see photo). Once the drip tray is empty and coffee grounds are removed, the machine is ready for use again. I empty my grounds typically in the afternoon after we're done making coffee, and have made at least 8 drinks without filling it fully. I'd assume it could go multiple days without filling up, but seems kinda gross if not emptied daily. To use, select your profile and make sure size and intensity are where you want it. If you make changes the machine will prompt if you want to save the new profile to your specific user settings. Within minutes the coffee is ground and brewed for a fresh drink every time. According to the "experts" espresso should be brewed around 195 - 200F, however this will change based on what type of espresso roast you are using. Note that if the espresso is bitter you may need to reduce your temperature. I have my temperature settings on high, and a single shot of espresso comes out of the machine at 170F according to my digital thermometer. It's possible to believe that the coffee gets brewed close to the 195F range, but hard to confirm. I'm not too concerned, while I have had a few better espressos, this is by far the best one I've been able to replicate at home. I'm not much of a latte person, but for testing purposes I've tried out a few different options, you can use whole, 2%, skim, soy, almond, and oatmeal base milks in the carafe. To use, simply fill the carafe and press into the opening on the front of the machine. For my drinks, I'm using 2% milk, knowing that every milk type will froth differently, with 2% being a bit less foamy than whole milk. The milk carafe has a max line, or if you know what you are making and what size, you can fill it to the corresponding mark on the carafe. The carafe has three foam options, delicate, creamy, and dense, which you can manually select based on preference and/or drink type. I have also tried this with a mix of milk and liquid chai mix, while it doesn't froth well, it does a great job of adding chai flavoring to a latte. Overall, from this self proclaimed coffee snob, I personally wouldn't be able to make something this specific to everyone's different preferences this quickly that tastes as authentic as it does. Can I get better espresso at a restaurant? Yes, at select high end places, but from the local coffee shop down the street, highly unlikely, not is it ever this consistent. I love the fact that the strength and size is consistent every single time. I also love that there is limited mess to clean up, and clean up time is less than 5 minutes to empty, wash, reinstall, and be ready to go the next day. I love that I can also use this to make the sugary coffee drinks my teens love, just by adding in flavoring to the cup prior to brewing. Overall, this is an absolutely fantastic addition to my morning routine. I have retired my coffee grinder and taught the teens how to make their own drinks using the custom profiles, so I no longer spend much time thinking about my morning coffee routine.

Save money without sacrificing quality
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great Makes good shots out of the box Easy to make good coffee foam LatteCreama system easy to clean Has bypass to use ground coffee 4 user profiles make it quick to make your preferred drink Updated display feels more premium Drip tray has plastic fins that protect the metal from scratches Quick startup Quite for a mid-range super automatic Coffee grinder and press seem strong Control screen has fun animations and tips when making drinks Detects and alerts you if there isn’t enough coffee to make the puck Can make most drinks very hot Large water and spent grounds containers Not So Great Plastic vs glass control screen cheapens feel All plastic build makes it look cheaper No timer to schedule it to start up in the morning No cleaning brush included Limited temperature options The Delonghi Magnifica Plus, while in the budget line of super automatics seems as capable as the midrange Dynamica line with the style of the upper end Eletta line. While the exterior is all plastic it doesn’t feel cheap taking it out of the box as it feels solid. The drip tray seems to be the only exterior metal piece and Delonghi has added a thoughtful touch of protecting it from scratches from cups by having the plastic fingers from the drop tray sit slightly higher than the tray. This means cups sit on the plastic fingers of the drip tray instead of the chromed metal causing scratches. The touchscreen looks nice but instead of glass it uses a plastic cover which your finger drags on and detracts slightly from the overall feel and appearance . The bean hopper appears very large since it is wide, but it is shallow. It holds enough beans for about 10 shots. Delonghi have chosen not to seal the bean hopper. It is up to you if the risk of beans staying humid or oxidizing to the open air is more important. The cover is tinted which should reduce the effect. In our family we can go through 10 shots in less than 48 hours so the concern if oxidizing is minor compared to the risk of beans absorbing moisture from the brew chamber. Included in the box is a package of descaler, water softener filter, and a scoop for ground coffee. Unlike higher end models, the cleaning brush is not included. Setup 9/10 Setup is straightforward. You can use it straight out of the box. Just clean it, fill it will coffee beans and water and you can be ready to go. If want to take advantage of user profiles, you will need to take the time to configure things. In most cases, Delonghi has simplified the process and offers tutorials on the control screen to walk you through the steps. You can have up to 4 user profiles and assign each a color. The color is reflected on the screen as well as a dedicate profile button making it easy to see which profile is active. It would be nice if there was some sort of scheduling option. While it doesn’t take very long to start up, it would be nice for those in a hurry or on a regular schedule to set the espresso machine to be on and ready when they are. Noise 7/10 Of course, most super automatics are noisy but the Magnifica Plus seems to be on the quieter side for most operations. The grinder is still loud, but for a super automatic is sounds about on the quieter side and far quieter than any grinder at a coffee shop. It doesn’t seem quiet because it is sealed but just the fact that the grinder seems to have plenty of power to ground through beans with little effort. The operation of the brew camber seems more audible from across the house, but the process is short lived. Compared to our old sealed and insulated semi-automatic it was less noticeable across the house. Drink Customization 7/10 Unlike higher end models, there is no smartphone control. Judging based on reported usefulness of the app on higher end models this omission doesn’t seem to an issue. Thankfully, the controls on the touchscreen are easy to use. Options have been simplified to temperatures of low, medium, and high. Sizes are small, medium, large, and extra large with no description of how large each is. You can also choose from multiple intensity levels which vary based on the drink. Brew Quality 9/10 From the factory the grinder is set to 5, but based on forum posts the machine was changed to 4. Using this setting out of the box the first shot with fresh medium roast Arabica beans with a recent roast date produced a smooth, full-bodied shot with a hint of sweetness, a smooth crema, and very hot. Our family does not traditionally drink black coffee, but this machine is the first where the results make us feel it could be an option. It was surprising to not need to try several test shots to dial in the grinder for the correct extraction. In fact, we have not been motivated to adjust the grind setting further even though spent pucks suggests more fine tuning is possible. Trying to test the weight of pucks before brewing resulted in brittle pucks. In testing used pucks that had been dried ranged from 15 to 30g. With 30g pucks that would explain why even larger drinks maintain flavor. That is one surprise is trying larger drinks. The Magnifica Plus has been able handle larger drinks such as an extra-large coffee or Longo while still maintaining a good amount of the strength. When needed it can also brew two pucks back-to-back for the same drink. However, if you are hoping to fill your travel mug in one go this isn’t your machine. It doesn’t make drinks beyond approximately 12 ounces and the drip tray doesn’t accommodate anything beyond a tall drink glass. A small caveat is if you like your large drinks very hot like at a coffee shop. You may want to preheat your cup and run some water through the machine to heat things up thoroughly to get the best results as large brew out of the machine recently turned on into a room temperature cup will yield a very warm coffee, not very hot you may prefer. Milk Foam 9/10 While the milk foam isn’t as high of quality as than created manually from someone with experience it makes up for this with the ease of creating milk foam. Using 2% milk halfway through it life produced milk foam with larger bubbles that would pop and sizzle like soda. It seemed to be a combination of the age of the milk and the extra fat. One thing others have advised is the orientation of the pickup hose is important. According to forums, if the hole in the pickup hose isn’t align with the passages in the top the milk foam quality will suffer. Trying this technique seem to produce better foam but there were even better results to be had. Trying “barista grade” oat milk produced uniform micro bubbles that were stable. While better, trying this with a flat white did product a sweet foam but it felt dry. With testing, we found the perfect milk for milk foam was fat free, high protein milk. Options such as Fairlife milk and ones like it produced a milk foam that was light and delicate with microbubbles that were stable and long lasting but more importantly, sweet without any dryness. Maintenance 9/10 The grounds container holds approximately 10 pucks, and the machine will remind you to empty every 10 shots or every 72 hours. There is also a red indicator that floats up in the drip tray that around the same time that you need to empty the grounds container. While some moisture does end up in the grounds container it is easy to empty and clean overall. You can fill the water tank by fully removing it or using a small fill spout available by pulling the water tank forward slightly. In the water tank is a water softener. While not required it reduces maintenance by reducing the frequency of descaling required. It should also help improve shot to shot consistently by conditioning the water. The brew chamber should be cleaned once a week and can be accessed by removing the water tank and opening an access door behind the water tank. All you need to do is brush old coffee grounds off the parts, but you will need to provide a cleaning brush. The LatteCrema system and metal drip tray can just be tossed in the dishwasher and the brew group just needs a quick rinse. The whole process only takes a few minutes. Final Thoughts The Delonghi Magnifica Plus, while part of the budget line of super automatic espresso machines, feels more like a solid mid-range device. It takes a lot of the complexity and variability out of making variety of different coffee drinks. It allows you to spend more time enjoying your coffee without spending the extra money at a coffee shop. It has just enough options to allow customization without so many as to overwhelm. If you love a variety of different coffee drinks and appreciate the quality of a well make drink by a barista but like saving money, then the Delonghi Magnifica Plus could be a worthwhile investment. Over time you can save a ton of money while enjoying more coffee.

Your Personal Robot Barista
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Being the country that invented the espresso, it almost goes without saying that Italian coffeehouses are some of the best in the world. As one of the earliest manufacturers to offer commercial and consumer level espresso machines, DeLonghi brings over a hundred years of experience to the market and settles for making nothing less than a top-end product in any segment. DeLonghi’s Magnifica Plus represents the top end of the stack of their new espresso machine series, bringing a more modern design to a familiar experience carried over from their previous machines. With more drinks on offer than before and an even more intuitive, easy-to-use interface, the Magnifica Plus puts what feels like the next generation of espresso machines right on your countertop, and truly does it all with the push of a button. - Unboxing and Setup Efficiently packing the espresso machine within, the Magnifica Plus arrived well-protected, albeit a bit tricky to lift out of the box. A little bit of assembly and removal of packaging material is needed to get the Magnifica set up, but the tool-less design of the machine and LatteCrema milk frother makes this a breeze. Sample coffee beals, a scoop, a water hardness test strip, activated charcoal water filter, instruction manual, and a sample size descaler are all included to get up and running. While I would have liked to see a quickstart manual, once plugged in and powered on the machine’s LCD display guides you through initial setup and configuration, which takes about 5 or 10 minutes depending what optional features you decide to run (such as the water filter, which is highly recommended if you’ll be using tap water for brewing). The water hardness test kit is fairly important to fine-tune the coffee taste, as the Magnifica Plus will adjust and compensate based on the one-minute test kit results. Highly recommend doing so even if you’re using bottled or purified water. With DeLonghi’s previous machines they advised that it will take a few drinks for the machine to begin brewing optimal coffee. I did notice an improvement after a few days, but I was also adjusting the grinder coarseness throughout to find the right setting. - Brew Impressions Qualified as a superautomatic espresso machine, the Magnifica Plus makes brewing coffee and espresso drinks almost foolproof. Fill the water tank, load up to a half-pound of coffee beans, fill the LatteCrema carafe with milk if desired (which can also be conveniently stored assembled and filled in the refrigerator in-between uses), and select your drink from the touchscreen display. Even cleanup is handled automatically by the Magnifica Plus, with the internal infuser using the same design as previous machines where spent espresso pucks deposit in the removable grounds container behind the spout. The convenience is great in and of itself, but an espresso machine’s make or break moment is how the coffee tastes. I expect a DeLonghi to produce some of the best espresso you can make at home - and indeed, the Magnifica Plus brews fantastic espresso and coffee drinks. I used a local roastery’s beans in the Magnifica, and despite the roastery having their own cafe for made-to-order drinks right on site, I don’t think I would be able to tell the difference between a drink from their counter and one from the Magnifica. All the guesswork of making a great espresso is completely automated, and with 18 different drinks on tap (which now includes one of my favorites; Cortados) you can find the right beverage for anyone. Keep a few different flavor syrups on-hand and you just might be able to fool casual latte drinkers into thinking you’ve gone to barista school. The size and strength of each drink can be changed from the LCD display, and saved to one of four personal coffee profiles. I found the default size settings for all drinks to be a bit too small for my taste, and when scaling up the size the Magnifica scales the strength appropriately. I do appreciate that setting a drink to be strong means you get a strong drink…at the highest setting each espresso drink is so robust that even my twenty years of experience drinking coffee and espresso didn’t prepare me for the hit of an extra-strength espresso shot. Well done, DeLonghi! The Magnifica Plus seems to use the same heating and infuser elements as their older Dinamica Plus, which I reviewed previously. This isn’t a bad thing, as my Dinamica has been a reliable espresso machine for years and still impresses me today. What you can expect is the same quick heat up at power-on - about 20 seconds - and brew times for most drinks to be about a minute. While some premium espresso machines feature built-in milk frothers, the Magnifica Plus goes a step further by integrating DeLonghi’s LatteCrema system: an automatic milk frother with three intensity settings for the range of milk-based drinks on tap. Swap the hot water spout for the milk carafe, set the frother to what’s indicated on the display for a given drink, and LatteCrema does the rest. DeLonghi recommends skim or partially-skimmed (e.g. 1 or 2%) milk for best results, and I found 2% indeed delivered the best frothed milk overall. The only critique I can really find is in direct comparison to the Dinamica Plus - and that’s that the updated LatteCrema carafe is on the small side. That I have to dig that hard to find something to nitpick says a lot about how impressive this machine is. - Maintenance The Magnifica Plus is largely a self-cleaning machine. At power-on and power-off, hot water will flow from the main coffee spout to clean and empty any loose residue within the machine, and after each use of the milk frother the machine will ask to set the dial to the “Clean” position where hot steam will flow through the frother to cleanse it. The drip tray will catch most of these for emptying later, though I found keeping a mug handy worked best as the tray is a bit long and unwieldy to handle. Most of the assemblies of the Magnifica Plus are easy to remove and clean, especially those that will be used the most frequently. The water tank, grounds container, drip tray, hot water spout, milk carafe, and LatteCrema system all remove without tools and are easy to empty, rinse, or clean with warm water and a mild soap. Cleaning the infuser is a straightforward affair, too, as it removes without tools and the cleaning method is to soak in water, then dry and brush out any coffee grounds. Similarly, the inside of the machine is easy to clean from behind the water tank, and also involves simply brushing out any residual coffee grounds. Descaling is an important function to ensure quality brewing, and like most DeLonghi machines a descale is recommended about every 100-150 drinks. A dismissable reminder appears on the screen when it’s time to descale, and the process takes about 45 minutes. The process is very hands-off and only requires you to fill the water tank, place an appropriately sized container under the spout, and occasionally empty, rinse, and refill as guided by the Magnifica’s display. - Bottom Line DeLonghi’s reputation for high quality espresso machines meant I had high expectations for the Magnifica Plus, but DeLonghi hit every mark with seemingly no trouble at all. The Magnifica series is a great evolution from the Dinamica series, harnessing a proven formula in a sleeker, more feature-packed package. The quality of the espresso and coffee is top notch, and the fact it can all be made with the touch of a button is a luxurious experience indeed - the fully automatic and fast brewing process, the level of drink customization, and easy maintenance are all hallmarks of a tightly integrated, well-designed appliance. The luxury comes at a price, but even so the Magnifica Plus comes in with an MSRP 20% lower than the Dinamica Plus that preceded it. I had already recommended the latter at full price, and seeing as this is an evolution of the same with a lower entry point, the Magnifica Plus is an even better value and comes highly recommended!

Perfect cup every time
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. From the box to the first cup, I was sipping in 10 minutes. And this was just using the quick start guide and the navigation prompts walking me through the initial set-up. For a multi-tasking powerhouse of a machine, the usability is extremely user-friendly. Every drink will walk you step-by-step to ensuring the perfect mixture every time. Easy to read navigation menus on a bright, sharp, and responsive touchscreen LCD. All automatically measuring, frothing, and delivering perfect temperature specialty drinks in minutes. This is my second De'Longhi machine. In contrast to the first model, this is quieter, not by much, but noticeable. I have this on my counter, under the "lip" of a protruding cabinet. In contrast to my most recent "pro" machine, this model was designed with these types of conditions in mind. The coffee beans/grounds are easily loaded from the top without the need to twist and lock any handles. The water tank slides out from the front of the machine instead of the rear! My favorite design choice. In previous coffee makers, I'd be forced to slide the machine out to refill the tank. The start-up process, though necessary, is a bit cumbersome if you're just looking to set-up and get a quick cup. The start-up process requires releasing a small amount of water in the process of heating up. Though it shouldn't be a problem if it went into your cup, you either have to pour it out before making your drink, or let it fall into the tray, which would lead to more frequent draining. Either way, I don't have a different recommendation as I'm assuming this is the best way. Just mentioning to be aware. The milk carafe is definitely a step-up from the previous model. With a twist of the cap, you can choose three different froth levels to suit your taste. After each usage, the machine will ask to run an automatic milk valve cleaning. This is great as the milk frothing spouts/ steam shoots get jammed frequently in past model requiring frequent soaks and jabbing to clear the clog. Once again, the perfect amount at the perfect level of thickness. It's also very easy to clean. trays slide out, including a drop for ground coffee, that can be easily rinsed and ready to go in minutes. They not only designed this to need minimal assistance on the user's part in making a drink, but also that also goes for the ease of cleaning. Since it's so easy, I'm inclined to use it more! The one downside I found is in relation to grounds. My wife and I typically buy per-ground coffee as they provide the best flavor combinations. While you can use them in the Magnifica Plus, you can only use one scoop at a time, and not all drinks can be made with grounds. Not a hindrance being we had to load our last message after every cup, nut will a top loading system that grinds and measures doses for whole beans, it would have been great if we could just load up a half bag of grounds and just make several cups over time. Small issue, but no problem. So, that's it! Easy to use. Easy to clean. The perfect drink every time. With so many drink choices, I look forward to taking the time to explore and find new favorites!

Magnifica Plus > Dynamica Plus
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The people writing bad reviews on this because it takes to many steps to clean are very lazy lol. On the top right corner on the touch screen, there is a settings button. Click on it and if you keep scrolling there are very fun visual instructions on how to clean it. You can finally clean your frother properly and easily unlike in the previous machines. Another other thing I notices that it makes way less noise than any other Delonghi machine I owned before. If you want the best out of Delonghi automatic coffee makers, this is the one to buy.

Always wanted one, got one, I likes it A LOT A L…
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love it. Everything is automatic, so I don’t have to think or do anything except put water in it, put beans in it, and fill the foamer thing with whatever plant milk and a cup to catch it all and voila! Whatever coffee you want. Add syrup for tastes and skip Stankbucks, put the money back in your pocket and not theirs! (also less environmental waste so now your Captain Planet!). I recommend buying a security screwdriving set since this thing has those kinds of annoying screws so you can take it apart and service it yourself. Don’t be a scaredy! You take it apart, you put it back together, simple as that. Save yourself some money and learn something!

Very good features, ease of use, bang for the buck
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I researched about 6 different machines before choosing this one. I based my choice on features, ease of use, and bang for the buck. All in all I believe this was a good choice for us and what we need from a "coffee maker". The touch screen is very easy to use and the best feature for me is I can still use ground coffee for a traditional cup of coffee, but also add steamed milk and an espresso shot if I want. The milk frothing container is easy to attach and to clean, AND is stores in the fridge if you have left over milk. Our ONLY complaint is while it makes drinks hot, we wish it was hotter. Other than that, we are very happy with this machine.
