Easy to fly
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First time drone owner, other than a cheap toy I bought for my son once. The Mavic Mini is incredibly easy to fly, right out of the box, and sure to please. The DJI Fly app is easy enough to use, if you have some basic understanding of how your phone/tablet interfaces with the app, the remote, and the remote with the drone. Once you get this understanding down, flying is pretty easy. Too easy really. Please read up about where and when you can and cannot legally and ethically fly. Because the drone is so small and light, you will notice that wind is an issue. The drone is capable of flying in some wind and will tell you when the wind is too strong. Actually, it will terrify you with a warning that your drone "will not be able to return" to you and to lower altitude immediately. I've crashed mine once, when the battery was low in the Return to Home feature, while fantastic, is not paired with any obstacle avoidance technology. Therefore, when it initiates to return to home, it will fly up and into whatever might be around while trying to return to the until GPS location from takeoff. Mine flew up and into a tree in doing so. No real damage inflected however--just lessons learned. All in all, a solid purchase, if not a bit gimmicky. Video captures are good (not 4K good but good). Photos are similar to a high end cell phone photo. The three way gimbal stabilizes video captures amazingly well. In Cinema Mode it is possible to capture some pretty solid shots. Solid enough that it will make you want to plan better flight paths to match. I bought the Fly More bundle for the extra batteries. With three batteries I can fly for closer to an hour without needing to recharge. Keep in mind also that the controller needs to be charged as well (and that the charger will charge whatever device you mount it to (phone/tablet). This will drain it's power and shorten flying experiences.

The Best Drone $500 Can Buy
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After owning this drone for 7 months and flying it dozens of times, I can confidently say it's an excellent product that works exactly as advertised. It takes phenomenal pictures and videos, it's easy to set up and use, and it performs well on every flight. My only warning is to never fly on windy days. Being so small and light, it does not hold up against winds over 20 mph. If you're patient and only fly during appropriate weather, this drone will not let you down. (As a word of advice, wind speed increases with altitude. Make sure to check the wind speed at the altitude you're flying - 100 feet, 200 feet, etc. UAV Forecast is a great app for this.) The drone also has excellent range. I usually get about 1,500 feet of range in suburbs and slightly over a mile of range in rural areas. Signal interruptions occur once in a while, but it's rare and doesn't interfere with the flight. If the signal is completely lost (which has happened to me), the drone automatically returns to the spot it took off from. Battery life is good- I consistently get about 25 minutes of flight per battery. Overall, you can't go wrong with this package. The value you get with the Fly More Combo is fantastic; it's everything you need to get plenty of high quality flight time in a very small and portable case. Note: I have heard that some users have trouble with the DJI Fly app that controls the drone. Personally, this app works great on my Samsung Galaxy S7. Be sure to check if this app is compatible with your phone and/or tablet before buying this drone.

Good drone for the price.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was pleasantly surprised when my item was shipped ahead of schedule. I have owned multiple DJI drones in the past from the Spark to my current Mavic 2 Pro. The Mavic mini has pleasantly surprised me because of its size and it’s unexpected performance. It holds up well in mild winds, battery life is awesome, and the video/photo quality is pretty darn good but of course the Mavic 2 still has better quality. Some call it a beginner drone but keep in mind the obstacle avoidance is non existent, so if it’s ur first time fly make sure you fly in an open space. If it’s not available the propeller guards are recommended. Lastly if you can afford it definitely purchase with the fly more combo.

Very good drone and picture quality
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I thought it was going to suck with that size but wow. Flies for 30 minutes if you don't push it too hard. The picture quality is very good for a small camera and the videos on a 75 inch tv look awesome. It is very small and light but still flies in plenty of wind. Get the fly more combo. Well worth it. Very easy to fly and long range. More then you need. Just keep in mind drones like this have electronics and gps that pin point it to a foot on the map. Including height so let's say your house is near an airport or a military base etc it won't let you take off even in your back yard unless you are a part 107 pilot. You can only take off if you click for a code to be text to your phone that you input in the app and then it asks you to agree that you asked for permission to fly. If you don't have permission better not try it. You can download dji fly and i think even without the drone you should be able to see if where you want to fly is a restricted airspace. At some places it won't let you go higher then the permitted height. If you are restricted in yoyr back yard or wherever you can fly the drone line of sight without the camera by not putting your phone on the controller.

Great portable aerial photography platform
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own a Phantom 3 Advanced, and while I love it it is a bit of a production to transport and fly due to the size. I recently bought a motorcycle and the idea of a drone I could throw in my backpack and take anywhere with me seemed really attractive. Pros: - Compact and light weight - Very easy to fly - Mode switching allows for very cinematic shots while also regaining the performance to get shots that need a higher speed - The DJI Fly app works great and provides tons of useful information - The low cost and small size makes it easier to perform maneuvers in places I wouldn't dare to fly my Phantom - Video performance is great Cons: - No SDK (yet) so Litchi isn't able to work with it. I hope this will happen soon though - No RAW for still images, and the on oard jpeg processing leaves a bit to be desired This is definitely an amazing aerial platform, it is a ton of fun to fly, and the size makes it easy to get some unique perspectives that would be more difficult or more risky to do with a larger aircraft. The lack of RAW leaves me preferring to shoot video over stills, but likely makes this unsuitable for most "professional" shots. Being under 250 grams isn't a big deal to me as I don't mind registering my aircraft and am pursuing my commercial license, but the small size make it incredibly portable and the drone you have with you is more likely to get flown than the one that stays at home. Definitely have recommended this to people I know that are in the market for a beginner friendly aerial photography platform.

Better than Mavic Pro??
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I struggled with this question, before buying the Mavic Mini, I had a few Mavic Pros and they are awsome, I wanted another one in fact but this little drone came out, I thought maybe technology caught up? Do I really need to spend so much? May e this little Mavic will make me as happy as it's big bro? Yes it did, it's exactly what you see, a smaller Mavic pro, all the perfectness is there on the flying part. It was perfect but I took away a star for the things it didn't have that the Mavic Pros, did have, The first big diffrence to me was the range, but not by much, I wont wont complain about it becuz its similar on range, but less, the controller lacks the additional display, as well as the drone itself, while its made really well, it's missing some pizazz, but can be argued that it had to scrap weight to be able to fly anywhere? Then it the features, follow me mode, it doesn't use the dji go app, It uses dji fly and is not comparable with aftermarket apps I paid for that allowed previous drones to go miles and miles away unchecked. (No more other city deliveries) The drone is perfect, I took off only one star for what it's missing, but co suffering its $1000 cheaper, it has the best parts of the Mavic, flight and video.

Simple to Fly
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Auto take-off and landing and four Quickshot modes make this a perfect drone for the first-time flyer. Most prop damage occurs during take-off and landing. The DJI Fly App simplifies both operations. Press the take-ff button on the left side of the app screen, a centered circle appears, press and hold for 2 seconds and the drone takes off. Safely hovering at 6ft. Identical steps to land the drone. Only used RETURN TO HOME one-time to test accuracy. RTH will bring the drone back to the take-off spot (within 3 feet of launch site - 1 foot during my experiment). You first set return to home altitude to be higher than the tallest object near you. Once Return to HOME is selected, the drone flies to that altitude then flies back to you. There is no collision avoidance, so it is important to set the return home altitude to avoid striking objects. There are only 4 Quickshot modes. Each mode allows you to pick from multiple altitudes or distances, then click the button. Video recording is super smooth through quick shots. I wish 4k video was an option. It is not. 2.7K video and HD video are the only options. The video quality is very good. Extra settings allow you to slow down the camera movement to avoid jerky movements when controlling flight and camera at the same time. Flight is very stable even in 12-14 mph winds. The gimbal stabilizes the camera at all times. The DJI Fly application has many nice features. You can view a street map or google like satellite map that precisely showed my location on the baseball field. As a first-time drone owner, I felt comfortable flying from day one. I had flown my friends DJI Phantom 3 one time. The Mavic Mini is much easier. The Mavic Mini does not have collision avoidance detection. At this price, it is a great “learn to fly” drone.

Good little drone
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had multiple drones before this is the first DJI I've had and like it alot. It's small, light and flies great. Connection is simple and it's easy to fly. The fly more combo is a bargain for this type of drone. Only thing is it doesn't handle wind that well but other than that would highly recommend to anyone.

DJI Mavic Mini for beginners
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like the DJI Mavic Mini because it is very easy to use, easy to take to many places, very light, it has everything a beginner needs. I recommend buying the Fly More Combo because of the extra batteries and intelligent charger. It has a very nice camera to take photos and videos for that cheap price.

Light weight that packs a punch
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having used it, mini in size & weight but by no means should this drone be taken as light weight for it really packs a punch. Given it’s affordable price, it’s ideal for beginners & people who want to get aerial footage at a minimum cost. I went for the Fly more combo as it provides the add accessories & backup required to shoot for a longer duration. All in all, it’s really worth it.

Awesome drone!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was looking for a drone small enough to travel with, but still get great shots, and this one has exceeded my expectations. The altitude and range these go are amazing, for the price. There are some automation features you don’t get unless you move up to the Mavic Air, but it is over twice the price. If you are looking for a fun drone, on a budget...go with the Mavic Mini.

Mavic Mini Big results from small package
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased the Mavic Mini flymore pkg over the basic pkg for several reasons. Bang for the buck. No regrets at all. Used it yesterday at the beach and captured some great video. Flymore has the three batteries along with charger that can charge all three at the same time. Technically not all at once, will charge the strongest batt and so on. Comes w case along w prop guards. Purchased separately would be more than the $100 difference. Download the DJI app, quick calibration out of the box and you are ready for the first flight. I would recommend using the prop guards for the first couple of flights if you have never used a drone before. Remove them once you have acquired some confidence w it. My brother in law is now considering buying one. You can't go wrong with the DJI Mavic Mini however I would recommend to go with the fly more pkg.(less down time) You would have to plug the charger directly to the Mavic Mini otherwise. I included pic of the Mini and pics of some pic. examples. Hope this review helped.

Fantasy Drone
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Can’t say enough about this drone. Great size, great, camera, great 20 minutes fly time. Light enough so it doesn’t have to be registered with FAA. I am a pro photographer so I was worried about the photo quality, cannot beat it for the price.

Great drone for beginners and semi-pros
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Mavic mini takes excellent photos and is easy to fly. The battery life is very good in my opinion, flying in sport mode continuously you get about 23 minutes in the air. Great purchase for people who like to just fly or for the beginner hobbiest taking photos.

Perfect Daily Drone, Small and Stealthy
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been flying drones since the Phantom. Since then, I have owned the Mavic Pro, Spark, and Mavic 2 Pro. This is by far my favorite. I felt that once the Mavic Pro came out, it opened up the market for many more drone enthusiasts. That was good and bad, but the bad started happening. More and more places started to ban drones, people started to get annoyed with them in general. Before people were intrigued when they saw me fly and as questions. Then at some point people started to be very rude. Although I loved the Mavic 2 Pro for its quality, I have found the Mavic mini has been my go-to drone because it is stealthy. I hand launch and land, and have launched in several places with people around and no one really seems to notice it. Even zooming around the beach, it is so quiet that the waves drown out the buzz, whereas the Mavic 2 Pro would definitely catch attention from the propeller buzz. I also love not having to worry about all the sensors, especially since I started with the Phantom, which pretty much had none, it is refreshing to not be bothered whenever I wanted to get close to trees and hillsides. I fly and take photos and videos for my own enjoyment. I am 100% satisfied and impressed with this tiny drone. I purchased the fly more, but find I only really want to take the time of one 30 min battery and will rarely pull out another battery. There are times I wish I could fly farther but I would rather not be bashed by bystanders who have an opinion.

Great compact and easy to use drone
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a smaller drone that I could easily travel with. This seemed liked a good choice, given the small footprint, that collapses to be even smaller, and coming with a case and accessories. The performance and quality exceeded my expectations. This thing can fly much higher and faster than I expected for its size. The phot and video quality is fantastic, though I know a new version of this just came out with 4k video. You absolutely need to get the suggested Sandisk micro sd. I went through half a dozen different cards, thinking it couldn't be that picky, but it absolutely is. Problems that make absolutely no sense to even be related to the micro sd card, just magically go away once you use the correct SanDisk Extreme V30 A2 128GB MicroSD Memory Card. Other than that, its an amazing little drone, that does exactly what I bought it for.

Amazing
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This little drone is amazing. Super stable in flight. Takes great pictures and videos. Easy to use. I get about 25 minutes of flight time per battery. The remote is well put together, but it charges your android phone and there is no way to turn this feature off, its skills your remote control battery in about 1 hours of continuous use. Other than that, this drone is amazing.

An excellent drone from a reliable manufacturer!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first drone and after MUCH research, I decided on the Mavic Mini and I am very pleased. It operates just as described and is the perfect drone for beginners. In addition to its ease of use, it also falls below the weight limit that would require FAA registration, another selling point for this drone. Flying the Mini is a bit of a learning curve, but with practice it seems like it's going to be a breeze... I also opted for the "Fly More" bundle, rather than just the drone because it contains extra batteries, a battery charging pack, propeller guards and a nice case. Buying those items separately would have cost much more than the "Fly More" package. I wholeheartedly recommend the Mavic Mini and particularly when purchased at Best Buy because of their customer service and expertise.
