I've been very disappointed in this vac. I have an upright & love it but the canister doesnt do a very good job. Instead of picking things, like mud, up it just shoots it out the back side & it will not pick up strings from the floor. If possible I would definitely get my money back.

I personally think this is the best canister vac out there.

It's a Dyson need I say more?..name speaks for itself!..

I bought this vacuum because I was under the idea that dyson was the best out there for pets hair. Well I was so wrong after about a year of using this vacuum maybe twice a week on carpet and hardwood floors the main head broke, I called dyson spent about an hour on the phone with tech support to doing different things to see if it was the head or the base itself as the person on the line said "yup sounds like the head is not properly working" then was told that I need to take it to a shop that is about an hour and half bus ride from me so a person can look at it and tell me it is not working. I spoke to the shop and ask the question "what happens if it is broken?" answer "we contact dyson for a new head and you come back to pick it up" I am upset that a 500.00 vacuum has already broke and instead of being on the phone with dyson and they just send me a replace head I need to make a long trek across town to have someone tell me the same thing and still wait. This did not happen with my bissel carpet cleaner!!!

This vacum is just ok. It does not clean carpets well because the head is not powered. It is great for hardwood floors but that's it. You need a powered head to get the deep clean!

I had it one day and returned it the next. It worked for about 5 minutes then something happened and it stopped sucking up anything. I'm no idiot and could not get it to work again, Returned it for a full refund.

Worse investment, they need to tell you after 3 years this will break down

Truly appalled at how dirty my rugs were before I started using this vacuum. The very first time running it over a 5x8 area rug pulled out a full canister worth of insanely fine dust and hair that our old vacuum missed just minutes before. Un-real. Yes, it can be tough to move thanks to the high suction, but the amount of allergens, dirt, and dust that it's picking it make the slight bit of effort more than worth the hassle. The old adage of you get what you pay for rings true yet again. If I could time travel, I would go back and teach 20 year old me to just buy the quality good from the get go. It's cheaper in the long run.

this vacuum is excellent. it works very well on both carpet and hardwood floors. it picks up every single scrap scattered on the floor. it comes with various covers for the suction and they are all useful for different spaces within the home. the vacuum is easy to use; it is small and lightweight it is easy to take around the house. there is a button on the vacuum that pulls the cord back into the vacuum, which i find quite neat and handy. it makes a quick clean up.

Purchased in Aug 2015. It has great power, does an excellent job picking up dust and debris. Attachments are very handy, especially like the creative design of the dual crevice and brush attachment and the turbo pet attachment. Cord length at 22' is excellent compared to others. I have mostly hardwood and brick floors, but it does a much better job on my area rugs than my previous canister vacuum. Well worth the price.

I absolutely detest the new cinetic floor tool, feels like I have to push it across the floor with all my might....instead of just letting it glide. The only plus is the suction, too cumbersome for rugs, would rather suck them up, won't stay on the floor....making it hard to vacuum. Needless to say, it was returned after only using it once. This unit also looks CHEAP! Prefer my stowaway dc21. Seems they've discontinued this model?!

This is vaccum is easily the best vaccum I have ever used. I love that it's easy to take apart and clean. I have a cat that sheds a lot and my GF has really long hair. It's so much easier to remove the hair in this vaccum compared to other brands I have owned. Not to mention the attachments that just work! Love love love it!

Ordered my Dyson after trying several different brands. I have cats which shed year around. I have wood floors. I bought this particular style for the hose and long handle making it easy to clean under beds, furniture and still reach vents. I especially love the furniture tool - absolutely love love love it. This vaccum picks hair, dirt and the smallest dust ever and no filters to clean.

bought after reading reviews. Have 2 large dogs and 1 with long hair that sheds terribly. Works well on tile but despite reviews that indicates that it works well on low pile carpet, it does not. Also, canister holds very little and you have to empty it quite frequently, which is a very dirty job. I really wish I could return it and get another vacuum.

My wife wanted a canister vacuum and we have pets so this seemed like a no brainer. The price was a little steep, but since this was top of the line we thought it would be worth the money. Run away, buy anything else. First off it does ok with hardwood floors getting up pet hair, but won't pick up very small pieces of dirt an debris. I had to get those with a broom and dustpan. On carpet it's worthless, it doesn't seem like it sucks up anything. I thought the suction was bad, but I tested it a few times and seemed like it was fine. After a month of use and frustration I gave up and bought a Shark for half the money. I'm much happier. I e-mailed Best Buy, but it was three days after the return policy expired so they told me to call Dyson (at least they gave me the number). I understand that Best Buy has a return policy, but it seems like they would make exceptions for extremely dissatisfied customers after such a short time period. Especially considering the money spent on "quality". I guess they have the policy there for a reason, but just remember that when you make a purchase at Best Buy.

Never considered another brand until now. This unit requires multiple emptying with each use, and the process is very messy. Not like the older units where the debris drops out when you open unit. It comes with a tool to assist in clearing out the debris, which should have been a sign. I must empty multiple times, and it's only me and an 18 lb smooth coat terrier. I've tried everything. Always requires a shower and often causes an allergy issue.
