Such a huge disappointment with this machine. I had a non mapping evovacs years ago and that did better than this machine. Mapping is useless. Device is so sporatic and randon with its routes causing a simple 30 mins whole house clean to take well over an hour. Extremely ineffective and inefficient mapping and navigation. Map edditing might as well not be a feature at all. Splitting rooms is a chore. Have to do work arounds like splitting large chunks at weird locations and then merge others to get rooms setup. After 3 attempts of quick mapping the devuce still counts our whole home as one giant room. Will be returning this week and holding out for another Roborock when the S8 MaxV Ultra is released. My S7 Max V ultra blows this out of the water and its a 2 year old system. Only gets 2 starts because the wide vacuum pickup and mopping (for the area it decides to clean when it gets there) is decent.

      Hi,
Regret to hear about the mapping issue. For the first run, we would recommend using the Continuous Clean Mode in the APP. This way, if the robot cannot finish the map in one go, it will return to the Charging Dock, refill its battery, then go back out to complete the mapping process. Should you need any assistance with setting this up, please reach out to our Customer Service Support Center where we’ll be happy to help out.

I love love love this robot, helps me keep my house clean. I help it vacuum by using a handheld vacuum to save on the dust bag cost. I do put the cleaning solution in the water to help my floors disinfectant and smell nice.

It is very poor at mapping, navigating, and figuring out where it and the charge is. The brush is very easily tangled with hair on the ends. It doesn’t avoid obstructions and will ram right into a dog bowl even though it is supposed to avoid them. It stops cleaning a room and says it’s done when it has 95% left to go.

I read the Best Buy reviews and I was nervous to buy the x2 but I already had an x1 and I loved it so I went ahead and got the new model. It’s great!!! It cleans well, mops well, mapped the entire house. The only issue is the voice controls do not work well. The old model didn’t either so that didn’t bother me. If you use the app, this vacuum will do exactly what you want to do. It goes from hard floor to carpet well and doesn’t get stuck. I think the previous commenters aren’t good with technology because this vacuum mop does everything it says it will do!!! Watch tik tok reviews because they are correct.

    Had high expectations

I did extensive research before purchasing and had high hopes for this product. The pressure of the mop left fantastic results on my laminate floors compared to any other cleaning efforts. However, areas are missed due to the erratic path it sometime takes. I have three large dogs and two cats. The so called tangle free brush is an epic fail. The vac cannot do a single room (let alone a whole floor) without a brush tangle on the ends which stops machine and requires me to remove the entire brush and unwrap hair from each end. Furthermore, the unit blows hair and debris across the floor as it operates . Because of the non-sensical path it often takes, the hair and debris does not always get sucked back up. This could possibly be remedied by having a side brush on each side - like other robotic vacs on market. While the mop pads do lift on carpets, the edges on all of my low profile carpets curl up and twist. Mapping function and operating the unit is easy, but at this price point there are two many cons to justify keeping it.

I bought this in November of 2023 after being super happy with my N8+ model with also self clean and with the mopping pads. This robot, constantly loses itself and is not able to find the charging station. The main brush is constantly getting tangled with hair and can never finish a job. When sending the robot to clean a specific are it can never find it unless i draw an area of about the same size and then send it. In regards to the vaccum and the mopping job, it is doing a good job but it comes with the price of someone constantly having to be babysitting it. The dirty water tank must be cleaned immediately aftet the jobbis done because otherwise it smells sooooo bad, even after putting in the cleaning liquid from Ecovacs.

The vacuum is good, but sometimes it does not recognize things around it surrounding eating cables, and things like that. It does avoid some stuff, but what you can do is to move cable and things like that before you vacuum and somehow it’s making some noises here like real loud Cracking noise that’s about it mopping is good. It just need to be clean the brushes or change the brushes little bit more.

Mapping is useless. You have to spend time every three weeks just to get a new map. There’s no lock feature to keep the map as it is, so the AI keeps adding rooms after each session. This turns into a total mess because it eventually gets lost and becomes nothing more than a $1.5k paperweight until you reset it again.

I love my Ecovacs. A very convenient, smart assistant in cleaning the house. We have tile throughout our house and it requires constant vacuuming and cleaning. The battery charge is enough to completely clean 1600sqft. Although, like any robot vacuum cleaner, it requires maintenance to remove entangled hair, but this is not a problem. The vacuum cleaner does not like high, fluffy rugs. It does an excellent job of mopping the floor using just water or using the cleaning solution from Ecovacs.

I had high hopes for this combo vacuum and mop robot, but unfortunately it hasn’t lived up to my expectations. The self-cleaning mop part is still mostly useful, but its inconsistent navigation doesn’t always get it to cover all the areas it’s supposed to. Its vacuuming performance is a little disappointing, too, because it tends to blow pet hair around on hard floors rather than suck it up. The initial setup of the app, getting the robot on the WiFi, and even running the initial mapping went very well. I’ve got several other brands of robot vacuums and they seemed to take forever to map out the house. This one mapped our upstairs (830 square feet) in about 10 minutes and produced a reasonably accurate map. I was able to segment the rooms properly and draw a couple of boundaries to keep it from trying to go downstairs. However, this is when I noticed that I couldn’t customize the room names like I wanted in the app. One room is an office; however, this isn’t one of the room choices. Unless I’m overlooking something, you can only choose one of the pre-existing room types like Room, Corridor, Laundry, Study, etc. Office wasn’t a choice, and neither was Closet. So, my office became “Study1”, and my closet became Cloakroom1. The only choice for my second closet was to make it Cloakroom2. I assume this limitation is to accommodate the “OK, YIKO” voice capabilities, but it’s still a little annoying. Once all that was configured, I selected a couple of rooms for “vacuum only” just to see how that worked. It went around the edges of a room first, then started to cover the middle. I was happy to see that it went underneath furniture, like a couple of dressers, that it fit underneath. However, when it came to the middle part it didn’t seem to consistently cover the whole area and missed some spots. Another thing I noticed was it tended to blow cat hair around to areas that it had already vacuumed. I don’t know if this is because of where they chose to vent the exhaust air or what, but the other robot vacuums don’t have nearly as many problems with that. Another issue was it simply didn’t vacuum the entire room. See the attached picture from the app. It mapped the whole bedroom, but then when it was vacuuming it decided not to go into the whole area behind the bed. I’m not sure why that happened because there’s plenty of room (and it had just mapped it successfully.) Next, I tried the mopping function. I wasn’t exactly sure how it worked before I got it, but it turns out the robot simply wets the pads in the base and then goes out mopping. So, there’s no on-board spraying of cleaning solution while it’s mopping. In the app, it indicates that it’ll return to the base after each room is completed or when a selected time interval is reached. The choices are 10, 15, or 25 minutes. Unfortunately, even 10 minutes is a long time to go without refreshing the mop pads so they tend to get a little dry by the end. If your rooms are small enough, then you may not run into that issue. In the app, I tried to create a job that would vacuum everywhere, but then just mop in a couple small rooms. Unfortunately, it looks like the vacuum-only and vacuum & mop modes are only selectable for the entire job. So, unless I’m overlooking something again, I have to run a vacuum-only job for just those selected rooms, then run a separate job for the other rooms that I want to vacuum & mop. Maybe this will be a feature in a later software update. I was fairly pleased with the mopping results on our vinyl plank flooring, other than the navigation issue where it sometimes misses a few spots. Where it mopped, the floor at least looked better. Instead of cat footprints and other spots, it did at least look clean. Another positive point is that it’s relatively quiet when running and is probably the quietest of all the robot vacuums I’ve used. Another small disappointment for me was the lack of spares included with the robot. They do include a spare roller, which is nice, but nothing else. There isn’t even a sample-size bottle of cleaning solution to get you started, so you either have to wait to buy some or use something similar you might have on hand. There is also only one vacuum bag for the station. For the price of this robot system, I really expected to see a small starter kit included with these items and maybe even another pair of mop pads and a side brush. It’s not a huge deal, but I think it would have sent a good message to their customers. In summary, I plan to keep using it for the mop functions, but I’m also going to keep my older robot vacuum in service for the vacuuming part. Maybe the navigation will be improved with future software updates. For the price and features it has, I just expected a little more from it.

I've owned several robotic vacuums over the years and currently have a Roomba i7+ and Braava mop. The Roomba is fine, but I'd never call it great; there always seems to be something weird with the navigation. The Braava mop isn't that great since it pushes the same pad all over the floor vs. dual spinning pads on the Ecovac. The Deebot X2 Omni is on a completely different level, at least on paper. The camera, LIDAR, AI, combined vacuum/mop, cleaning/charging/washing station, etc. all translate into a cutting-edge package vs. nearly every other robotic vacuum. So far, I've used it for about a week and have some thoughts: I got everything set up and sent it out on a mapping run. It's very efficient in this mode and zips around my 2,500 sq-ft main floor much faster than the Roomba. It cleans well but I'm having trouble understanding its navigation behavior. For example, it gets confused as it transitions from hardwood to a thick wool rug. It seems to straddle the rug/hardwood surface meaning half the vacuum is on the rug, and the other half is on the hardwood. This causes the motor to constantly rev up and down, up and down, since the sensor thinks it's continually transitioning from carpet to hardwood, over and over. It's frustrating since the mop pads drag on the carpet (even though they are raised). I find this pretty nasty since the pads were just mopping the hardwood seconds prior, now they are wet and it's "mopping" the rug as they drag. In fairness, I likely need to dial-in the "no-go zones" to prevent this behavior, but I was under the impression the AI/Camera/LIDAR features would better understand the terrain out of the box, meaning it would see cords and try to gently navigate around them. I expected the advanced navigation abilities to recognize a power cord or rug edge and navigate accordingly, but it for now, I have to add no-go zones so it stays out of trouble. The mop/vacuum combo is interesting, but so far I'm not convinced. When it focuses on the hardwood alone, it works great. Vacuums and mops in one line, pulling double-duty. I do find the pads, while raised on carpet, to still drag on the carpet. This is disappointing since the combined cleaning is a headline feature, but I'll likely take the pads off and have it vacuum only. I'll run it as a vacuum or a mop, not both. We are coming from a Braava mop, which we've never really liked. The Braava just pushes a pad all around while spraying, compared to the rotating pads on this unit, which will do a much better job of actually cleaning the floor. The combo cleaning station is great. It just does its own thing, emptying the vacuum bag, cleaning the pads, and carrying on vacuuming/mopping without needing babysitting. Not sure how long I can go without having to clean the cleaning station, but based on the water usage so far, it looks like every 2 vacuum sessions may necessitate switching the water out. It's not too loud, but the vacuum motor does have a pretty high pitch whine that could be annoying if you focus on it. The actual vacuum/mop speed is great and it moves around confidently and quickly (Roomba wanders and slams into things, sometimes sitting to "gather itself" before moving again). The app is fine, if not a little confusing. I'm finding setting no-go zones to be tricky, but maybe that will get better with more use. The speaker/voice on the unit is a bit cheezy; you can barely hear it anyway, so when it talks from across the room, it just sounds like a computer voice that you can barely hear. I haven't used the voice commands yet, but maybe I will in the future. I'd rather control it with the app, at least for now. In all, as a mopping vacuum, I'd give it 2/5 stars. As a vacuum, 4/5 stars. The mop dragging on the carpet is a definite no-go and while I can remove the pads, that defeats the purpose of the entire device. I'm hoping I can figure out if it's a setting I need to change or how to address the mop pad dragging. For now I'm removing the mopping pads so it only vacuums. The power cord issue should be easily solvable with manual no-go zones, but again, I thought the AI/LIDAR/Laser/camera features would just steer around them out of the box. Just seems odd that it will roll into/over cables and if it gets snagged, it aggressively tries to escape, which can drag the lamp off the table. Don't get me wrong, there are many, many reasons to like this vacuum, I just wished it was a smarter robot out of the box. Hopefully it improves over time, but for now, it largely accomplishes what I expected it to do. Once I get the no-go zones set up, I'm confident it will help us keep our floors clean for years to come!

I am really very pleasantly surprised! I'd researched some into this and other models of robotic vacuums, and I was concerned about it not working properly. Some reviews mentioned that the unit didn't seem to be cleaning in any particular pattern, or that the mapping function didn't seem to work correctly. I'm not sure if those buyers were actually reading the entire instruction manual (or watching the plethora of YouTube guide videos that Ecovacs has available). The manual clearly states that during the initial mapping session, the Deebot will run in no particular pattern. It's just going around the house at random (but one room at a time) and taking pictures of the layout of the house. Reviews also talked about it bumping into or not turning away from things, but mine would stop and turn away from any obstacle it came upon, including my super curious animals following it around! This was a MAJOR concern for me prior to acquiring a robotic vacuum, as I own two cats and a dog and I didn't want them to be injured by it. On the first run, it did seem to have a bit of trouble returning to the docking station. It rolled right by it. I went back to the manual and there it mentioned that instead of using Wifi to connect / control the unit via app, a better option is to use Bluetooth. I switched it over and problem solved. The mopping function works well! At least for me, I tend to mop up little spills and things as they occur, but I mainly intend to use this function to do whole-house gentle cleaning once per week so dirt never builds up to the point of my having to actually mop. Mopping is my absolute most HATED chore. My floor looks very nice, a subtle shine, with no solution. All in all, I'm happy with this neat little gadget. I haven't tried the voice control yet, but I love the futuristic feel that hearing the unit speak gives. I recommend it!

    ecovac X2 omni

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni is a sophisticated piece of technology that merges the convenience of robotic vacuuming and mopping into a single, sleek package. Offering a plethora of advanced features designed to make cleaning less of a chore, it stands out in the crowded market of smart home cleaning devices. This extensive 4-star review will delve into its capabilities, with a particular focus on the challenges it faces with mapping and cleaning patterns. **Design and Build Quality (5/5):** The Deebot X2 Omni impresses with its elegant design and superior build quality. Its compact, rounded shape allows it to navigate tight spaces, while its sturdy construction ensures durability. The docking station is not just a charging hub but also serves as a cleaning station, showcasing Ecovacs' commitment to innovation and convenience. This thoughtful design philosophy extends to its user interface, both on the device and within the app, making interaction intuitive and straightforward. **Battery Life and Suction Power (4.5/5):** With an impressive battery life, the Deebot X2 Omni is capable of cleaning large areas on a single charge. When it does run low, its smart return-to-charge feature ensures it resumes cleaning right where it left off after recharging. The suction power is robust, effectively picking up dirt, dust, and debris on various floor types, from hardwood to medium-pile carpets, highlighting its versatility as a cleaning tool. **Mopping Functionality (4.5/5):** The mopping feature of the X2 Omni is a game-changer, offering users the ability to vacuum and mop simultaneously. This dual-action capability is enhanced by the device's ability to automatically detect carpeted areas, raising the mop to avoid wetting them. The mopping performance is commendable on hard floors, tackling spills and stains with ease, although it might struggle with more stubborn, dried-on messes. **Smart Features and Connectivity (4/5):** Integration with smart home ecosystems and the accompanying app adds a layer of convenience to the Deebot X2 Omni. Users can control the vacuum, set schedules, and customize cleaning modes with ease. Voice command compatibility further elevates the user experience. However, the highlight feature—its advanced mapping technology—while ambitious, presents notable challenges. **Mapping and Navigation (3/5):** Despite boasting sophisticated LiDAR navigation and the promise of creating accurate maps of your home for efficient cleaning routes, the Deebot X2 Omni sometimes falls short of expectations. Users have reported issues with the device's mapping accuracy, where it occasionally fails to recognize or incorrectly maps certain areas, leading to incomplete cleaning jobs. Furthermore, its cleaning pattern can appear random at times, with the robot missing spots or cleaning the same area repeatedly, which can be frustrating for users expecting a methodical approach. **Random Cleaning Patterns (3/5):** Connected to the mapping issues, the seemingly random cleaning patterns of the Deebot X2 Omni detract from its overall efficiency. Instead of following a logical, grid-like pattern that covers every area, the vacuum may navigate in unpredictable ways, reducing its cleaning effectiveness. This randomness can lead to increased cleaning times and areas being overlooked, which is not ideal for users relying on the vacuum to maintain a consistently clean home. **Conclusion:** The Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni is a feature-rich robotic vacuum and mop that promises to simplify household cleaning with its dual functionality and smart features. Its design, build quality, and mopping functionality are particularly commendable. However, the device's performance is marred by issues with mapping accuracy and random cleaning patterns, which can compromise its cleaning efficiency. While it offers an impressive array of features and conveniences, these navigational challenges prevent it from achieving perfection. With a 4-star rating, the Deebot X2 Omni is recommended for those who value innovation and are willing to overlook some navigational quirks for the convenience of having a robotic cleaner that can both vacuum and mop.

    Better than the T20

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I was looking for an upgrade to my old ecovacs T8 and had initially purchased the T20. That model didn't impress me and was returned to the store. I then purchased the X2. The X2 is significantly better than the T20. The mapping is more precise and it is smaller, so it will fit where the T20 does not. I was leary of this robot because it only has one spinning brush, but cleaning doesn't seem to be affected. It vacuums just as well as the T8 and the T20, but quieter than both of those. It also has a wider roller underneath. My only concern is that it is all rubber. I felt the combo bristle/rubber roller from the T8 was a better design. The all rubber, seems to me, would miss small crevices and relies heavily on suction. It's too soo to tell if my opinion on the roller is correct or not. Although the mapping is better than the T20, I don't feel the mapping is better than the T8. This is probably due to changes ecovacs made. I liked the T8 style of mapping from the app much more than this present style. It was much more accurate and detailed... The impressive thing is that the X2 automatically detects your floor material, this is probably because of the camera. It even shows the correct approximate color in the 3D map. It also attempts to place furniture from it's initial mapping, that doesn't work so great. It also doesn't do a great job around thinner area rugs. We have a thin one in front of the toilet and it pushed it out of the way on the first cleaning. It's also a bit clumsy. This is presumably because of the lack of the 360 degree scanner on the top. This one relies on a single radar scanner on it's left side and the camera. I feel dual radars on each side would have been perfect because this current design tends to bump into things more and it spins around to rescan it's surroundings. It returns to the station to wash the mopping pads occasionally while cleaning. This robot holds water, so the returning wasn't as bad as the T20. The T20 was horrible. Mopping is good, better than the T8. My wood floors are actually clean. With the T8, I could clean a spot of the floor, the cloth would be dirty. Now, if I spot clean, the cloth is clean, no signs of grime. Overall, better than my old T8, but could be improved. Definitely better than the T20.

The Ultimate Cleaning Robot With a Bit of Learning

The DEEBOT X2 OMNI is a bit of a lengthy title, but if it sounds to you like that’s a name worthy of being one of the most advanced robot cleaning devices on the market then you wouldn’t be far off. I was initially skeptical of such a device – will it really mop + vacuum at the same time, leaving my area rugs dry? The answer is 100% YES. However, it’s not without a few quirks and a slight learning curve. The first thing you’ll notice is that the box that it comes in is quite large. The reason is simply that the station is nearly just as large. It’s about the size of a small trashcan – twice the height of other robo vacuum stations that do automatic dustbin emptying. The robot itself is sized similarly to other robo-vacuums, although more square in shape than the circular shape that feels ubiquitous. When the robot is docked within the station, it sticks out only a few inches. Part of it living inside the station is so that the mop heads can be washed and cleaned of debris, as well as wetted in preparation for mopping. The actual setup is as easy as setting up nearly any WiFi connected smart device. After downloading the app and creating an account, you turn on the vacuum, connect to it via Bluetooth, enter your Wi-Fi settings and then you’re connected and downloading firmware updates. After this process and the robot is fully charged your first step is making a quick mapping of your home. I found this process to be very quick and more accurate than other similar robot vacuums I’ve tested in the past. The actual operation of the DEEBOT X2 OMNI is simple: You fill the station with water, open the app, and tell it to clean your house. From there, it just goes and works very effectively. The mop heads do indeed lift up when encountering carpeted areas, and back down for mopping hard flooring. Occasionally, the mop will dock itself to the station for cleaning of the mop heads as well as emptying the dustbin. For basic operation, the app is easy to use and understand and most of the basic features are fairly self-explanatory. You can even talk to the DEEBOT X2 OMNI via voice commands by shouting “OK, YIKO,” pronounced ee-ko. This works fine, but I’m not sure is necessary as the app has more granular controls. The app is a necessary component, but also a source of occasional frustration as there’s maybe too many options. While the DEEBOT X2 OMNI comes with a decent getting started manual, and the app provided great guidance for initial set up, it did feel a little lacking in providing a tour of the app once setup was completed. While I appreciate that there’s a built in store to provide access to purchasing replacement and maintenance parts, I don’t care for an occasional ad about their sales upon startup of the app. There are some great instructional videos, but they’re hidden under the settings and help menu. There’s always a back and forth on whether apps like these should have too little or too much info. I’m personally glad there’s a lot there but wished there was a bit more tutorial over them and why I’d choose some settings over others. I’m still unsure about several settings, but they aren’t anything that affect the basic use of the vacuuming and mopping. As for the actual vacuuming and mopping, it does great! There’s really nothing to complain about here. The mop heads do lift up when encountering not hard flooring, so it does not mop your carpet or rugs. The mopping is fine, using hot water. There is a cleaning solution sold by Ecovacs, but it does not come with any, nor any instructions on whether you could even use a different mopping solution. I wish that were clearer – I worry that someone may add other cleaning solution and ruin the station, robot, or mop pads. I did encounter one issue where the mop pad tried lifting, but it was caught at the edge of an area rug, but also under a table leg where it couldn’t back up to fix itself. The robot and app both alerted me of the issue, and I was able to fix it easily. Regarding accessories, the vacuum dumps debris into a dust bag that is disposable. As it’s required, you will eventually need to purchase more of these bags. Other robo-vacuums have bins you can dump. While these are antibacterial, I do not see a value in using a bag I can’t empty and must replace at a cost over a bin that can be opened to empty. Lastly, speaking of accessories, the manual and app continually reference a cleaning tool to help clean your robot and station, but this does not appear to exist for purchase on their website. Make no mistake that the DEEBOT X2 OMNI is the most advanced robot vacuum / mop on the market. At its core, it’s very easy to use and does its job effectively. It’s impressive top to bottom and certainly a technological marvel. That impression is marred slightly by a bit of confusion with the app and some questionable sales practices, like cleaning solutions and maintenance tools not being included. It’s not enough for me to say don’t get this product, but enough to recommend you look into it further. If you’ve a home that could use a device that handles a bit of light mop work and light vacuuming from a remote robot, I would highly recommend checking this one out!

I’ve got hardwood floors throughout the house, with a few short rugs or door mats throughout. Especially as fall and winter hit, I can feel everything that gets tracked into the house and across the floors. Add in our dog, and even vacuuming every day still isn’t enough to not step in a pile of dirt. I’ve been looking for a robot cleaner to help win the battle against dirty floors. But with all the hardwood, an always changing floor landscape, and a dog, we needed something with a bit more navigational awareness than a simple robot vacuum. Enter the ECOVACS Robotics DEEBOT X2 OMNI Robot Vacuum & Mop! Pros: - Mapping function works well. - Voice Controls make it easier. - Mopping is good! Cons: - It gets confused and lost half the time. - Erratic cleaning path. I was expecting the Deebot X2 Omni to have a more involved setup but was pleasantly surprised by how easy setup was. Just follow the instructions on the box, then the instructions on the underside of the base station lid. The Ecovacs Home app walks you through the initial setup, through the first mapping. Once you get to the end of the initial setup, the robot will begin scanning your house to create an initial floor plan, I would recommend cleaning up any items or things that would normally not be out before doing this. Otherwise, you will need to retrigger the scanning later, which is not as straightforward as I would have hoped. The mapping function works well, though it does confuse the room transitions and larger objects, but those can be easily modified in the app. The app was easy to navigate and has many features to help customize, but unfortunately, I was not able to find an option to re-trigger the home scanning in the app setting. The first time I triggered it, we had left something on the floor that blocked the kitchen and caused the robot to completely miss the room. Our fault, but still had a challenge retriggering the home scanning as that was done initially through the setup process. I was able to re-trigger the home scanning using the Voice Controls with YIKO, asking it to Scan the house. After the 2nd mapping, I adjusted the map, renamed a few rooms and objects, then set some zone preferences. Overall, the app was easy to use and worked as I wanted it too. Honestly, I had higher hopes for the Deebot X2 Omni with its combo vacuum and mop and LiDAR sensor. The mopping is good, wiping up the hardwood floors and leaving them clean. That is at least where it covers the floors. The vacuuming isn’t particularly good, leaving behind bigger chunks of dirt or debris. I still need to play with the vacuum strength as I have it set on the default settings, which may help. The robot travels along some of the most erratic paths, often missing whole parts of a room during the cleaning cycle. The biggest issue I have with the Deebot X2 Omni is that it tends to lose connection with the base station through half of the cleaning cycles so far, requiring me to return it to the base station so it can resume cleaning. We are at 5 of 9 times having to return the robot to the base station. I’ve watched the cleaning cycle a few times and caught it once leaving the boundaries of the digital map, but just being stuck in the bedroom. I think it got lost as it transitioned over the rugs, thinking it was going farther than it was. I think there are still some software bits that need to be worked out and improved before the benefits of this cleaning robot will come through the inconvenience. I wouldn’t recommend this for anyone who doesn’t have all or mostly all hardwood/tile floors. And only in homes that don’t have a lot of transitions between floor types, as this often causes the Robot to become confused which results in erratic paths and ends with it getting lost, requiring you to place it near the base station. Overall, I’m not impressed with the performance of the Deebot X2 Omni, I had much higher expectations for how smart the device would be. The navigation and route planning needs work to ensure the robot doesn’t get lost half the time. The combo vacuum and mop could be better, but I think suffer from the poor navigation. I’m hoping some software updates and tweaking of the settings in app will improve the performance, but only time will tell. Can’t win a war in a day or so they say.
