This is my first Epson printer and I gotta say I do love the fact that I do not have to fill up on ink constantly and the picture quality is awesome. They do have some little apps that are free when you buy this printer that also will allow you to do some fun things with your pictures so I am taking advantage and learning more about this new printer which I think is going to come in handy. Also, if you’re not looking for anything gawky, then this would be the printer for you. It takes a very little space.

So we were excited using this Epson ET-3830 as it comes with 1 year free ink. We soon realized that we would need a refill sooner than expected. Pros: This printer is a little more compact than other printers we have had. It leaves a smaller area foot print and is lighter than others. The paper feed tray is directly underneath and you don’t need to feed it from a back tray, thus preventing jams. I like also that the feeder tray for a completed print is the size of a normal 8.5x11 paper and can be adjusted forward. Connecting it to my home wifi was such a breeze, probably the easiest of any printer as I can input my information via the app on my smart phone and not have to use the small display on the printer. The print quality is really clear and smooth, especially for a ink-jet printer. Setting it up and connecting it using the Epson app was an enjoyable experience because it sets up like a text message feed. And that’s where things got frustrating… Cons: Set up again was a breeze…but it took over 10 minutes because there was so many steps to do. This was the first time I’ve used an Epson printer that required me to fill the ink cartridges once I open it from the box. Each of the four color cartridges comes with a bottle of ink that you physically have to fill (which takes approx 75 seconds to fill). The ink fill was not the worst or it. Printing out the adjustment pages was what was very annoying. I printed up 5 pages of comparisons that you need to judge in order to adjust and calibrate, almost like going to the Optometrist (1 or 2, 3 or 4, etc). All of this calibration could’ve been concentrated on less pages. Another frustrating point, was I did not use that much ink on this calibration set up, and already the ink levels dropped 20%! I had left over ink in the bottles and ended up using all of them and it still did not fill the cartridges all the way! I’m afraid to see how much is used on a daily/weekly basis with printing. I see now that the 1-year free would come in handy. Overall, I was very disappointed with this Epson ET-3830 for the reasons of wasting paper in initial set up and the ink usage for just a small amount of printing.

This printer was really easy to set up. Print quality is great. And it is a compact unit that I really needed.

We have had Epson printers for many years. It is compact and the print quality is great. Best of all the Ecotank ink system saves a ton of money. You get many more pages and the old cartridges use the ink faster and is much more expensive.

I am very satisfied with this Epson 3830 printer. It has a nice, relatively small form factor. I moved from an old Canon photo printer that used 6 colors. I was a little concerned that this Epson would not be as good with just 4 colors. But I have been quite pleased with the results of photos. I know that the Epson 2850, an older model still available was supposed to the better at photos (with 6 inks) but this one is faster and had better paper handling. I didn't need a page feeder, so this fits the need very well. The scanning works great too. Not being concerned with finicky color ink cartridges takes your use of the printer to new level. This printer is supposed to be for a small office, so I hope it continues without issues.

I purchased the Epson Eco-Tank ET-3830 after returning another brand’s laser printer. I’m happier with this inkjet Epson. Filling the ink tanks is a breeze. Set-up took a bit longer than anticipated. However, using the app makes it easy. This printer works well with Apple AirPrint. Printing and scanning (up to 1200 dpi) are easy and quality is very good. Printer settings are easy to change. Duplex printing is another feature I can’t do without. Doing away with ink cartridges and their cost was a top priority for me. I like the smaller footprint of this printer, too. The laser printer I returned printed great, however it caused the lights in my home office to flicker every time the printer printed. I discovered through some research and speaking with IT professionals, this can be a common concern with laser printers. Lasers require a lot of energy when warming up to print. They shouldn't be plugged into a UPS or surge protector either. So, lasers are not all they are cracked up to be and not for everyone. This Epson Eco-Tank prints in black/white and color, will save me in ink costs and doesn’t cause my lights to flicker!

This is my second epson printer i wanted to try one with no cartridges really like the idea bottled ink this printer seems fast loads easy with plenty of paper got it on sale so price was ok really does a good job printing also doesn’t take up lots of room. Buy this one you want be sorry.

Easy to use printer/scanner. Ink supply lasts a long time and is easy to refill. Fast prints of good quality both color and black & white. Front tray is better than loading paper from behind the printer. Compact and fairly light printer.

Great small printer for a small home office. It was easy to set up, fill the ink tanks, and begin printing. Quality is acceptable for printing and copying documents. Scanning capability works well but may be lower resolution if using it for photos.

The Epson 3830 is very easy to use and fast. Recharging the ink is very easy, just open and dump in. Ink stops flowing when container is fill. Also very compact compared to my HP. Works great.

Overall I am very pleased with this printer. First off, it holds a lot of paper. The speed of printing is about average. Color and print quality it good as well. I do not recommend this one for pictures, but would highly recommend it for home/office use if you print a lot. The color tank is a life saver over ink cartridges. They are so easy to refill. The printer does not directly measure the tanks so it is advised to periodically check the ink levels. Putting the ink in is almost idiot proof. The size is perfect for our home office. The only thing I would recommend to do beyond the basic setup is to create a static IP address for it so that everything on your network will quickly find it every time. Beyond that, if you want a nice home printer, consider this one.

Perfect size and it’s very easy to use. It’s also quiet when in use.

Nice compact printer, like the liquid ink. Think it will be more economical. Not as fast printing as our old one, but getting used to it.

This printer is compact. The Eco Tank is what sold me on this printer. Much more economical to operate!

This is a huge upgrade from my "dinosaur" printer. The feature options -- BW/color, page orientation, copy, and even the model's size to fit in our small home office -- great! My printing needs are being met!

I love the concept of the ink receptacles, and just pouring in ink to a tank - makes so much more sense! It is compact and quiet, easily prints double sided. A big upgrade from our older inkjets. Highly recommend.

This printer is exactly what I was looking for. High quality prints with bright colors and dark blacks while maintaining a practical small size for a home office. Ink refills lasts longer than replaceable cartridges too!

Easy to setup, print, air print works very well and love supply-bottles of ink. More efficient ink usage. Would recommend. Size- smaller foot print of printer is great too.

Pretty easy to start. Like the smaller size to my last one. Anticipating less ongoing maintenance cost to my last printer (high priced cartridge/s) Was easy to prepare for start up, and printing seems so far, very good quality. Would purchase again at this point.
