Easy to use, plug and play device; would give 5 stars if it had bluetooth for the price I paid for it, i.e., $350. The built-in-speaker quality is not impressive, but the picture quality compensates for it. I use it as an extended monitor occasionally and it makes toggling across screens effortless - certainly has been a game changer for my eyes, not necessarily my wallet though.

I barely use my tv anymore. This is probably one of the best investments i purchased. My only regret is that i did not buy the upgradeversion with the Android TV. My hallway has a use now. Even early in the morning the picture is clear. The only bad thing it does not seem to be compatible with the Samsung S6 lite. I TRIED SEVERAL CONVERTERS.

I got this projector for outdoor use after trying another brand that was cheaper. Should have know better the first time when getting a cheaper model and different brand. Pretty mobile an quick/eash setup. Still need it to be in a darker setting with 3000 lumens. Great pic and hook it up to Apple TV with ease.

This is a generous 4 stars for the CO-W01 , and only because it’s an Epson. It’s built well, compact, and lightweight , which is good because this is made for businessmen and women, or anyone that will be traveling and needs a projector. So many other projectors out there at this price point that blow this one out of the water, it makes me wonder why Epson even bothered. Video – Resolution 1280 x 800 (16:10, WXGA) 3,000 lumens is a sales tactic, don’t buy into that. The screen size and manual focus, were both excellent quality, as to be expected from an Epson. One of my favorite things about the video options on Epson is the Keystone corrections that you can make. Allows for mounting or placing the projector in out of the way spots, and tweaking the picture just right on your wall, or screen. No slouch in that department on this projector. Not the worst, not the best. It has a good look to the picture, but again, spend a little more for the full HD, you won’t regret it. There’s a feature where you can click on the remote for higher brightness. If you decide to utilize that, it gets pretty doggone hot, and raises the noise level of the fan considerably. (eventually it eases off, or maybe I just got used to it, but it’s annoying for quite some time at first) Audio – 5W monaural The one thing that really bothers me is the USB-B input choice. I don’t understand why they made that choice. If they put an audio input, it takes this projector into the same ballgame as the rest of them are at. Don’t buy this thing thinking it can play movies right out of the gate and sound great. Well, if you do, then I guess your new to the projector game in the first place. They never have the best speakers, I don’t care what brand you look at. This CO-W01 sounds like I’m back in grade school watching a science movie on the old-school light projectors. If you plan to use this for movies, tv shows, streaming, or gaming at home, it’s an absolute must to use this in conjunction with a sound bar, or speaker of some sort. Good luck finding a USB-B plug that works with most speakers. If you need a lightweight projector for work, or that you can travel with, and you don’t care much about audio/video capabilities, this is not the smallest one you can find out there, but you can trust the Epson name when it comes to projectors. This one will work for you. If you are looking for a replacement for your home theater, console gaming, or streaming, spend a little more and get more for your money.

A very capable projector for home theater and work

Epson EpiqVision Flex CO-W01 projector. It’s rare to find a projector that easily and successfully serves multiple roles. After all, you want the projector you bring to an office meeting or lecture hall to be very light for carrying around, accept inputs from several sources, and shows a contrasty, sharp image. A projector designed for the home theater has to offer a cinematic image, revealing details in the shadows, very accurate skin color, and keeps noise and image artifacts to a minimum. The EpiqVision does all this and more for a price that is a small fraction of Epson’s specialized projectors. Chck out my photos taken while doing some early setup testing. SETUP: Plug it in to a power source. Plug in a streaming device of any brand. Or, plug in an HDMI cable (use an adapter you must provide) from your computer or laptop or tablet/phone. Or plug in a USB device (powered or not, but it should be powered from its own source). The Epson will project a wide variety of still and video image types. IF you want to use this projector as a sound source, the Epson has an internal speaker. It’s adequate. But, for a home theater experience you really want to use the internal Bluetooth feature to send audio to a soundbar or bluetooth speaker. Better yet, use an Audio Video receiver to manage your sound. I hope no one is surprised by this. The projector is only as big as a textbook and audio quality doesn’t seem to be a piority. PERFORMANCE: The Epson is set up in my theater room. There is light streaming through the one window, and no effort was made to create the cave lighting this room is capable of. I am using my 120” screen, although a wall with no obstructions will work perfectly fine. Even under these difficult lighting conditions, the Epson throws a great image on my screen. There are a full set of adjustments. Everything about color, brightness, contrast, sharpness and picture geometry can be adjusted. The projector offers a HIGH and ECO light setting to use less energy, add life to the lamp, and allow for a quieter viewing experience. I found ECO to provide more than adequate brightness and great color. Fan noise was decent with either setting, but really quiet with ECO. Other than the manual lens focus control and zoom, everything was ready to display a beautiful image. See my photos for images captured off of my screen. Remember, this is a 1080p resolution projector, not 4K. Higher resolution at this projected magnification offers a smoothness you can see. I found the CINEMA picture setting to have a nicely balance presentation. I’ll use a calibration disk after a few weeks to check my contrast, brightness and color settings. For now, I slightly boosted the color and contrast, but only a smidge. The image pulled you in with its huge size, bright saturated colors, and overall naturalness. This is a compelling image at any price. For this price it is very easy to recommend. NEGATIVES: Projectors usually have a foot adjustment to raise the front of the computer for those projecting from a table. It’s rare if you can get a left-to-right level image and so it was with the Epson. I also needed a rear “foot” because of my high projector shelf. Minor issues. You need to do a side by side comparison with a far more expensive projector, which I happen to have in the same room, to notice the slightly grainier image, a lack of smoothness in action scenes, and the broader richness of color that a very expensive projector delivers. I am pleasantly surprised by the high quality images and convenience the Epson EpiqVision offers while also noting you do get more cinematic images from far more costly projectors. It’s not a knock on this Epson EpiqVision but a reminder that for a significant price increase you can do better. SUMMARY: Great image from a multipurpose projector. It’s easy to recommend a projector that offers portability, flexible uses, and an introduction to a home theater experience. It sure seems unbeatable at this price.

In many ways this projector exceeded my expectations but it also fell short on some. Pros It's bright and vibrant in a dark room and not bad in a well lit room. Although I would recommend using it in a dark room for the best experience and vibrancy. It is portable and on the smaller side as far as projectors go so you can set it up anywhere. You can also mount it to the ceiling or keep it portable depending on your preference. I plugged in my streaming device and it worked immediately. I did not have to mess with settings or put things into focus. It was easily one of the best user experiences. You can control the volume with the included remote as well which is a nice feature. The picture quality is pretty good as well! It is 1080p not 4k but the image is still really nice. It's good for watching movies or even playing video games if you wanna try out the huge screen size. Cons There is not a physical zoom toggle on the projector itself. The built-in speaker is a little lackluster. It is clear and can get pretty loud but it does not have an all around fullness to it. There is no 3mm aux port. Overall I would say this is a great projector, especially if you want something with no frills, that looks good, and just works.

Bright Picture / Low Resolution / Not Portable

UNIQUE FEATURES Bright 3000 lumen output Good color and brightness uniformity Impressive 12000-hour lamp life in Economy Mode USE As far as “portable” projectors go, this is by far the brightest of the portable units I’ve sampled to date. The 3000 lumen output rivals my Home Cinema 880, Home Cinema 3800, and even comes close to my beloved 5040UBe. The extremely bright light output easily allows you to operate the projector in ECO mode. ECO mode dims the lamp, thereby not only increasing lamp life hours, but also dramatically lowers the noise of the cooling fan. High power mode is extremely bright for images up to 100”. ECO mode is more than capable in all but the brightest of rooms. So much so, that my preferred settings are: ECO mode and Dynamic. This provided a plenty bright enough picture to remain engaging, but low enough fan noise the weak built-in speaker could overcome it and that fan noise not to be a distraction. There are a minimal number of inputs. However, for a “portable” and entry-level projector, there is just enough to get the job done. Inputs include a full-size HDMI port, USB-A port, and the odd addition of a USB-B port. Think old-school USB printer connection. Not sure why that addition. Another USB-A, USB-C, or HDMI port would be far more useful. Speaking of the USB ports, the USB-A port provides a generous 2-amp output at 5 volts. This is more than adequate to power the latest Amazon Fire TV or Roku sticks with some power to spare. While my FireTV stick gives me a power warning, I had no issues with the Epson providing more than enough current to properly power the streaming device. This is a huge benefit for users as you only need a USB cable of roughly 6 inches. Awesome forward-thinking Epson. NEGATIVES Picture and Contrast. While I applaud Epson for their bright and entertaining picture, you can tell this is geared solely at the low end of the market. Pictures over 65 – 75” start to lose their resolution quickly. While Epson touts screen sizes as large as 300”, those images, with this resolution, would look horrible. This projector has a VERY modest output resolution of 1280 x 800 (WXGA resolution). This is roughly 50% of the resolution of a 1080p picture. Sadly, the low image resolution also equates to low contrast. Blacks are not black, but a gray. While I don’t mind the low contrast ratio for business presentations, work from home, or even sports, I would not want to use this as my main entertainment projector. This model just does not have the specs to give good details in darker images, bright images yes, darker images, no. The built-in speaker, while useful and loud enough for PowerPoint presentations, will leave you wanting more for anything else. Audio is tinny and thin. Again, for a business environment the audio is more than loud and legible enough, but for a projector billed as a flex unit, you will want to pair a good Bluetooth speaker with your streaming device. CONCLUSIONS I think Epson is trying to bill this projector as something more than it is. Everywhere in my review, I referred to this model as a “portable” projector with each portable being in quotes. Epson says in their marketing material to throw this thing in your backpack and take it with you. Honestly, it isn’t a portable, do anything, be anything projector. Quite frankly, it is too big to be portable projector. It is barely lighter or smaller than my Epson 880. Furthermore, the Flex CO-W01 doesn’t have anything to make it more ruggedized to endure the rigors of transporting in a backpack from place to place. In my book, this projector is just too big to be considered a portable unit. Once you get past the amazingly bright image, you will see the immediate lack of resolution. Having only ½ the total number of pixels as a 1080p panel begins to rear its ugly head at sizes over 75”. Resolution and enjoyment drop off quickly and images begin to look blocky, pixelated, and not so sharp. Image quality is fine for PowerPoints and even sports if the size is kept small enough, but this projector is not a suitable substitute for even a modest TV for movies. It just doesn’t have the resolution or native contrast ratio to provide an entertaining and enjoyable movie night. Had this been the only projector I’ve ever sampled; I may be more enamored with it. However, having had the luxury of using numerous other projectors from Epson, Sony, and Panasonic, its shortcomings are immediately evident. Its too large and puts off too much heat to be a portable unit and its resolution and contrast ratio are too low to make a good movie projector. The Flex CO-FH02 has nearly identical power requirements, better light output, 2x the resolution and only a few bucks more. If you are looking for an Epson projector in this price point, I would seriously consider the Epson EpiqVision Flex CO-FH02. The Flex CO-W01 is a miss for me. NOT RECOMMENDED

Epson EpiqVision Flex CO-W01 Portable Projector is an amazing portable projector, still new to using the projector but wow im so impressive with this little guy, it’s 1080p projector and wow so far im loving it. I tested this inside my game room, watching anime and trying out netflix, having HDMI does help a lot, you can plug gaming consoles or an apple tv, which what I end up doing . quality of this Epiqvision delivers, it’s simple to use, it’s also nice to have the built in speaker but for me it’s hard to rely on this, honestly it’s not the greatest speaker either, but one issue i’ve notice I don’t see is bluetooth on the setting option to maybe improve my audio clarity in the future, I know some people who just enjoy having video in the back ground then I guess a better sound is not needed. I also made some changes on pictures setting to see what’s better, i usually have my preset on cinema mode but it seems like this will be the first time i’d be using the vivid setting, it doesn’t ruin any picture quality but it does enhance it far better than cinema mode, cinema modes color seems wash out from my experience, pretty his has all standard other features projector have, adjustable feet to adjust the image height you prefer, focus level to adjust your sharpness level and to adjust the perfect angle of the screen itself. Epson EpiqVision also support USB B so you can connect your desktop to laptop as well. I like the remotes look it’s also rubberized button so it feels like it has grip. very simple remote that support all your needs when controlling this projector. so far I can wait to use this outside my patio to have an outdoor movie night. just gotta find my way around on how i’ll connect to better speaker, but so far if you use a laptop, you can just connect through bluetooth using your laptop to a much better speaker. again it’s the single issue i’ve notice , but when it comes to quality images this one has no issue delivering.

I received the Epson EpiqVision Flex CO-W01 Portable Projector, 3-Chip 3LCD, Built-in Speaker, 300-Inch Home Entertainment and Work - White. It has a very sleek, compact design, the Epson EpiqVision Flex CO-FH02 and CO-W01 projector easily fits into a satchel or backpack for on-the-go viewing anywhere. First time using a projector, setup was very easy, plug and play right out of the box. I connected the projector to my laptop via HDMI cable (not included) and was quite impressed as to how crisp and bright the picture was. The internal speaker is adequate, but for a home theater experience you really want to use the internal Bluetooth feature to send audio to a sound bar or Bluetooth speaker. It provides a big-screen picture up to 300 inches, with images four times larger than a 75-inch flat panel, you can experience engaging presentations or a great movie-watching experience. Also has real-time automatic scene-based color correction, which produces a color-focused, clear, and realistic picture regardless of the content being played.

The Epson EpiqVision Flex CO-W01 Portable Projector, 3-Chip 3LCD, Built-in Speaker, 300-Inch Home Entertainment and Work, is a good plug and play projector right out of the box. Easy set up, without having to tinker with the settings. Plugged a streaming device right into the HDMI port and the projector immediately detected it and the provided controller was able to control the streaming stick without having to pair it which was extremely nice. I was very surprised by just how good the picture quality was for a projector. My biggest issue with this projector being touted for entertainment is the speakers, in that it’s just one speaker that shoots the sound upwards, which does not sound the greatest if the projector is behind you. The that lack of Bluetooth or a 3mm aux cord port is kinda confusing especially for a device like this in todays market. Where this projector really stands out is using it for business applications and being able to plug your laptop into the hdmi and then being able to use the laptop speakers or being able to use your laptop’s Bluetooth connection for speakers so you can get better sound. Overall this a good entry projector where it’s adequate for entertainment purposes, I plan on using it outside for my kids to do a movie night and will also being using this in my office for meetings.

I've always been very intrigued in "at home" projectors. So when I had the opportunity to grab one and check it out, I jumped on it. Please welcome the Epson EpiqVision Flex CO-W01 Portable Projector (It's quite the mouth full). A 3 chip 3 LCD projector which is capable of delivering an impressive 300" image. It comes with a remote control and batteries, as well as a power cable and a guide. It's fairly light weight compared to old projectors, not really compact, but not a huge unit either. It's aesthetically pleasing to the eye, simple lines, almost made to blend with the environment. It sports 3 input methods: USB Display, USB media and an HDMI input. There is a knob to adjust the focus and a lever to adjust the angle as well as an on/off button on the top. I'm not going to go into technical details, but let's just say that this projector is packing some high-end components which aren't found in cheaper models. During my first run I connected the projector to one of my laptops and was quite impressed as to how crisp and bright the picture was. And I wasn't even using a screen yet! The on-screen HUD allows you to adjust the image to your liking, choose an input and play around with other settings (flip the image vertically if you do a ceiling installation). After watching several movies (1080p and 4K) on a decent projector screen, all I can say is that Epson hit a homerun on the image quality. It's close to what you get at the movie theater. Of course, the surface you're going to project onto is important. From what I have gathered, a white, satin surface with a black background works best. The screen I am using is a manual, retractable screen with a 120" diagonal in 16:9 format. I do not recommend foldable screens as they most often have creases that cast shadows and ruin the experience. The sound coming out of a tiny speaker on the top is really, really weak and you should really, really, really invest in something that packs more punch. It's more of an emergency speaker, really. The projector can be mounted on a wall or on the ceiling with the appropriate hardware. Note that it tends to get very hot, very quickly. It's not really a problem as most projectors tend to get just as hot, simply make sure to place it somewhere with adequate ventilation. The only (minor) issue I encountered was a flash drive which was formatted in NTFS and couldn't be read by the projector. It seems it will only read USB drives formatted in FAT32 (or exFAT). I don't think that anyone should rely on this method of storage for playback anyway as there are better options. A decent, dedicated bluray player or similar is "a must" to obtain the best possible picture. This projector will also be the perfect tool in a work environment for presentations and training scenarios. Now, as I am somewhat of a scientist myself, I have connected an XBox Series X to it, a gaming rig and of course, a (popular and well-known) streaming device. Everything worked flawlessly. Epson really put in the effort with this projector and it shows. The bottom line is this: If you want the movie theater experience at home, with a gorgeous image quality, the EpiqVision Flex will do just that. Pop some corn and enjoy the show. You won't regret it.

I have been using Epson projectors for a few years now, and i've had the opportunity to try out quite a few. And I have to say, they have been making strides to make owning and using their projectors, a very easy and enjoyable experience. Let's just get this out of the way. Opening the box, you'll get greeted with the projector, the power supply.a redesigned remote control and a couple AAA batteries that I just recommend you disguard and never use. They're very cheap.( If you have no other choice, but I'm sure you do,) Use them until you can get to the store to grab some name-branded batteries. I say this because you really want the best for this gorgeous machine. You can already tell from the 5 star review, that I'm really loving what I've experienced, so far, and I don't see that changing. What makes this differ from the previous versions, is the design. They've made it easier to make your quick setups happen without much trouble, by putting vital ports on the side to allow for quick and easy access for plug and play scenarios. Looking at my photos, you can see that they've moved the HDMI and USB ports to the side so you can quickly connect your gaming system, PC, streaming devices, etc, without it interfiring with the power supply in the rear. Everything used to be in the rear, but now it's only the power jack and a strategically walled 3.5 mm aux jack( I really like where they put that jack.). The design is aesthetically pleasing from previous iterations also. The picture quality is fabulous. I've watched football and baseball games on it in the courtyard of my apartments. My neihbors love it, btw. Playing video games is a treat also. I could write a book on how much I love this projector, but just know that it's my favorite one so far. And I didn't even talk about how well the internal speaker works.Mmmm Baby!

This is a budget friendly home theater projector. I'm giving it 5 Start for price to performance. The color reproduction is excellent, the brightness is outstanding and the price point is excellent for a well built device that should be able to provide thousands or tens of thousands of hours of use. I would not hesitate to run this in a high usage environment with any fear of failure due to overheating. The overall design of this projector internally ( Epson 3LCD) has been well proven over time and does not have all the moving parts of a standard DLP unit. Audio - Yes, It has a built in speaker! It will do in a pinch but don't expect a lot of a tiny 5W speaker. It's actually quite clear for watching sports but for movies or games I'd just connect to anything else. Software - The on screen management gets the job done. It's the same interface that epson has incrementally updated for the last decade or more. It's untuitive and simple to use ! Size - It's fairly large for a portable project but also lightweight. Would I want to carry it all the time for business use ? No. Does it tuck away nicely when not in use for movie night ? Yes. Things I love - 3000 Lumens in english: REALLY BRIGHT ! 3LCD Technology is better for "video game abuse" Not so great - No Bag Included for storage or travel Wifi connectivity is a propietary add-on module

I have this sitting in my den, which is a relatively small room. I have it sitting on a stand about 8’ from the wall it beams to. No screen, just a lightly painted wall. Sources are an Asus gaming laptop and an XBox One. We normally have a different Epson projector sitting where the W01 is now, the Epson EX9240. I really like the EX9240, but it is big, it is loud on the high light setting, and it gets hot. My intent behind trying the CO-W01 was to see if I could find a projector that didn’t get as hot, didn’t make as much sound (fan-noise), took up less space, and cast a bigger picture. I know, that probably sounds like a tall order, and considering that the CO-W01 is half the cost of its bigger sibling the EX9240, one might expect it to lose handily. But it didn’t! Setting the CO-W01 up, I plugged in the HDMI cable coming from my soundbar and got things fired up. After adjusting the manual focus level slightly, I had a beautiful picture. A little grainy, but to be expected from a projector that is touted as having WXGA resolution. The CO-W01 will accept up to a 1080p signal, but WXGA resolution is only 1280 X 800 (more like 720p). But, if you’re like me and my son and just looking for a huge screen and not super concerned if it is 1080p or 4K, then this will do nicely. An unexpected benefit behind the CO-W01 was the size of the picture it cast on the wall. Screen size when compared to the EX9240 was substantially bigger. Probably somewhere around 20-25” bigger, which was really beneficial to us. Some things I really like about the CO-W01: - Small footprint. - HDMI input. - Even on high light setting, the fan noise and heat is livable in a small space. Doesn’t make you turn the volume up on your source material. - Gets bright. At 3,000 lumens, it might not be the brightest of the projectors out there. However, since the fan is quiet enough you can actually run it at the bright setting which is brighter than the Eco setting on other projectors I’ve had. - Super portable. Goes along with the small footprint. Easy to carry around and I don’t feel like I’m carrying a fragile piece of equipment when I haul it somewhere else. Some things I don’t like. I realize cost of the unit factors into some of these omissions, but I’ll list them here anyways: - No carrying bag in the box. When I’ve bought other projectors, they’ve almost always come with a bag to put them in when they aren’t in use. One can be ordered from Epson, but at an additional cost. - Few inputs. An HDMI and a couple of USBs is all you get. Would have been nice to have an aux input or a second HDMI. Kind of limiting. - Picture is WXGA. I would have really like to of seen 1080p here. I realize this is a lower cost projector, but it is also being marketed as something that can be used for remote work, home entertainment, and beyond. Anything that is being marketed towards home entertainment should be at minimum 1080p in my opinion. The have nots do not detract from what is an excellent budget projector. It throws a nice, big picture, it is quieter and runs cooler than other projects I’ve had, and it has a small footprint. I recommend it if you are not looking for HD resolution and only need one HDMI input.
